It is nighttime. Knuckles is sitting alone on a bucket in the alley. A loose newspaper blows into Knuckles' leg. He picks it up and glances at it. Seeing that it is a picture of Sonic and Eggman battling, making him sigh. He then turned the page with his thumb to see another picture but this time with Y/N in it. It shows her skating down the handle without using stairs, making her look like she's surfing. He smiled with a small blush on his cheek and lets it go. It blows away.

He had a flashback of himself guarding the Master Emerald at Angel Island. He is so deep in thought that he is unaware of a figure appearing behind him. He quickly got up after feeling a presence and looked back. It is Dr. Eggman.

"What do you want, Eggman?" Knuckles put his fist up in his fighting stance.

Eggman suddenly gets on his knees before Knuckles.

"Please help me, Knuckles!"

Grasping Knuckles' hands, he explains his distress.

"If we don't do something fast, Sonic could make us prisoners on this planet forever!"

Knuckles looks surprised.

"If we can gather all seven of the Chaos Emeralds, there's a fighting chance that we can somehow reverse the effect that sent us to this world, and return to where we came from."

There is a flashback of Sonic and Y/N destroying Eggman's robots, breaking into the base, and causing Chaos Control.

"Sonic knew he could use the Chaos Emeralds to warp himself through time and space. That's the reason he attacked Chaos Control! He found out that I collected all the Chaos Emeralds to keep them out of his grasp! You know how reckless Sonic is. I was afraid of what he might do if he got hold of the Emeralds, so I set up defenses, but there was no stopping Sonic. He was determined to push his selfish search for thrills all the way this time, no matter who got hurt! Finally, Sonic invaded Chaos Control, and to my horror, he finally achieved his goal! Sonic destroyed Chaos Control and sent us all here just for the fun of it!"

Knuckles was about to say something about Sonic being crazy, but stopped to see a flashback of Y/N warning him about trusting Eggman. He glared at Eggman.

"How would I know you're telling the truth? Y/N told me that I cannot trust you."

Eggman now has a handkerchief to wipe away his "tears".

"I've changed my ways and want to live in peace, but Sonic won't let me! I almost forgot to warn you about Y/N being in danger!"

"In danger?"

Now that got him.

"He had been making her do reckless things against her will and will always make sure she follows his footsteps. Don't you think so?"

This made him think that he's right and it's true that she always get involved in Sonic's mess. Eggman blows his nose. But a gleam in his eye tells the readers that he is bluffing.

"What can I do? He won't even give me a chance to fix things! I want to get us back, but when I found one of the Chaos Emeralds, you know what happened! Sonic snatched it from me, and said he's going to stay here as long as he pleases!"

"That selfish hog!" Knuckles growled.

"He said that we can't leave here until he says so! He thinks this world's a lot more fun than ours, and if we don't agree, it's our tough luck."

Knuckles becomes mad.

"You like that Y/N, right? Then you should protect her. Because if you don't, I'm afraid Sonic will hurt her and make sure she obeys his every command."

This made Knuckles even more mad, while blushing a little that Eggman knows he's in love with her.

"You'd think he'd be more concerned about his buddy."

"Sonic isn't my buddy! I'm sick and tired of Sonic turning everything into a game! Either Sonic gives us that Emerald, or I'm going to take it from him." Knuckles yelled. "And I'm going to make sure Y/N is safe, away from him and his game."

"Be careful. Sonic says he'll crush anybody who tries to get it back!" warned Eggman.

"So then... A battle to the bitter end." Knuckles said.

Eggman grins.

"My chronic Sonic troubles are over."

In the mansion, Y/N was teaching Cream and Cheese how to draw in Chris' room with Sonic sleeping on the balcony railing next to them. That's when Y/N heard voices below and told them to keep on practicing and they can draw whatever they want. She walked over to the balcony, giving her brother a little push to the side and looked down to see Chris and Tails, watching Chuck getting pushed away by Tanaka. Once they are out of sight, Chris sighed in relief. Just then Amy runs out and accidentally sends everyone sprawling onto the ground.

"Ow..."

"Amy! You know it's dangerous to go wandering around her by yourself!" Chris said.

"I just saw a news report. It looks like they just found another Chaos Emerald!"

Chris and Tails blink in surprise. Y/N jumped down in front, surprising them or giving them a heart attack.

"Where?" she asked, not caring that she scared them.

They head to the living room and watched the news report.

"The strange energy spikes, which seem to be coming from the Silver Valley area, have played havoc with computers and machinery across the entire region. Investigators are looking into..."

"I bet it's a Chaos Emerald." Tails said.

"You know, Silver Valley isn't very far from here. Let's check it out!" Chris said.

They head outside.

"Hey, Sonic! You heard the news?" Amy asked.

Sonic groans in response.

"We're going to Silver Valley. Come along, and we'll have a picnic there."

"But we're going for the Emerald." Tails corrected her.

"Nah. I've been there before." Sonic said.

"Huh? You went without me?! So you stopped there during one of your runs, huh?" Amy exclaimed in anger.

"Yep. You guessed it."

"Fine, Sonic! Come on. We'll have more fun without him anyhow!"

"How do we get there without a car? My grandpa's resting, and I can't ask Mr. Tanaka to drive."

"If I drive, we're gonna get spotted." Tails added.

"And I don't think I have another rocket skates or skateboard for you guys." Y/N said.

"What can we do?"

"Hey, I know how we'll get there!" Tails exclaimed.

Soon, Chris, Tails, Amy, and Y/N along with Hikaru who was invited over to come are on a train headed for Silver Valley. Tails, Y/N, and Amy are acting as stuffed animals, and Chris and Hikaru feel exasperated as several people are staring at them and their animal friends.

"Those stuffed animals are really cute!"

"Aren't they a little old for those toys?"

"Uh, they're all staring..." Chris whispered in nervousness.

"It's making me uncomfortable.." Hikaru whimpered, gripping onto his pants.

"It's okay, Chris, Hikaru. We're almost at our stop." Tails assured them.

"Don't talk; they'll hear."

"If I could at least move, I would give them a death glare for judging my friends." Y/N said in her mind, trying not to blink or move.

"Hey Chris, I need to blink. What do I do?" Amy asked.

Just then a little girl grabs Amy's ear and turns to her sleeping mother.

"Hey Mom, could I get one of these? Wake up, Mommy! Lookit! Oh please, can I have one please, Mommy, please? You said I could have a toy if I was good! I want it--"

Amy then kicks the girl into the far wall. The mother, now awake, is shocked. The girl then bursts into tears.

"Huh. Now if only I could blink, everything would be perfect."

"Talk about a kid with no manners.. But she deserved that for being rude and annoying." Y/N thought with an imaginary frown.

Meanwhile, Sonic is still napping when suddenly, Eggman's messenger robot, Bokkun, lands on the railing and takes out a television from the pack he is carrying.

"Message for you." he said.

He balances the TV on Sonic's foot, then activates it.

"Here you go!"

The television shows an image of an angry Knuckles.

"Sonic, I'm sick of all your selfish stunts. This time, you've gone too far! And I'm not letting you hurt Y/N! I'm challenging you to a showdown! Meet me in Silver Valley in one hour. Don't be late."

"This message was brought to you by the Eggman Empire, which is not responsible for its content, except this part!"  Eggman's voicemail said.

The TV explodes, coating Sonic in ash. Bokkun flies away laughing.

"Knuckles is gonna regret that!" he growled. "But what did he mean by hurting sis? I would never hurt her."

Back to Chris and his friends who have arrived at the Silver Valley as they are enjoying a picnic by the lake.

"This picnic was a super idea, Amy! Mmm!" Tails said.

"You got some food by your cheek." Y/N said, whipping off the smear on his cheek with a napkin and he blushed at the contact.

"It was worth the trip, even if there is no Emerald." Chris said.

"Shouldn't there be a lot of people here if they found a Chaos Emerald?" Amy asked, feeling suspicious.

"Maybe something else caused the energy spikes." Tails guessed.

"I guess it must have been a mistake. We could still have some fun while we're here." Hikaru said.

"I'll be right back. I gotta check something out if we are in the right place to find the Chaos Emerald." Y/N got up. "For some reason, I feel like we're heading into a trap."

"Okay. We'll be right here. Just let us know, if you find anything." Tails said.

She nodded and walked away. But what they didn't notice is the water bubbling near them.

"We could take a hike in the mountains, or go swimming in the lake." he suggested.

"That sounds like a great idea." Hikaru said.

Suddenly the water explodes upward in front of them, revealing Eggman's largest robot yet: E-47 Pumpty. Before Chris and friends can flee, Pumpty uses a large digging claw to grab them. It opens the door to its glass cage before depositing the heroes inside. Eggman flies down from above in his Eggmobile.

"Eggman?!" Chris exclaimed.

Eggman grins in response.

Y/N was taking a walk through the field full of flowers as she happily look down, admiring their beauty. Her senses kicked in, making her stop. She looked up, noticing something shiny from not too far ahead. It was glowing bright and it seems it wants her to go near it. She does not want to let the curiosity get to her. But the shine grew brighter than ever and she had no choice, but to go near it.

Every slow steps she took, it went even more brighter. Finally, she was here and saw a white diamond shaped crystal.

She slowly reached it and picked it up. The light then started to grow bright like a sun, making her cover her eyes. When it stopped, she looked to see it fine and regular.

"What was that?..."

She had no idea what is going on, but she's going to ask Tails. Speaking of Tails, Y/N had to go back to others as she placed the crystal in her backpack and headed to where the picnic is supposed to be. But all she see is scrapes.

Her eyes widen until it turned into a glare as she knew that it was a trap and ran through the woods to find her friends. She heard a familiar laugh and followed the voice and found Eggman in his Eggmobile with another new giant robot. Y/N could see her friends stuck in the glass of the robot.

Y/N was about to take out her sword when she heard a crash coming from her left. She turned to see Knuckles and Sonic fighting!!! Ohhh... someone's gonna get it. That's right. For them, they are dead. Y/N's face darkened and she activate her rocket skates and skated towards them.

Knuckles charges toward Sonic, preparing a massive punch, but Sonic leaps out of the way. He spin-dashes at Knuckles, who dodges. Knuckles prepares a barrage of punches, which Sonic is easily able to keep out of range of. He flees from Knuckles, who gives chase. They run up a cliffside and up a tree. Sonic stands at the top.

"Ah, not a bad view."

Suddenly Knuckles picks up the tree, uprooting it, before throwing it. Sonic lands on his feet on the ground below. He sees the tree falling toward him and leaps out of the way. More trees fall toward Sonic, who dodges, as Knuckles punches the trees at him. Sonic runs from the falling trees.

He makes a face at Knuckles, which enrages him.

A whole line of trees go down as Knuckles punches through them. While traversing across one fallen tree, another one falls onto it, catapulting Sonic into the air. He rolls down a tree that Knuckles is punching down, and rolls right into Knuckles' arms. The hedgehog is able to push the echidna backward. They tumble down the cliffside, eventually landing in the lake. Sonic's fear of water kicks in.

"Hey! Help me! Whaaah!"

He then realizes he is in a shallow part of the lake. Knuckles is not impressed.

"It's lucky I fell in the kiddie pool." he said and growled and leapt out of the water.

"Get ready! You're goin' down!"

"Hmph. Let's end this now!" Knuckles said.

Just as the boys were about to fight again, a figure jumped right in front of them onto the shallow water and made a tremendous splash, soaking them. They whipped the water off their faces and flinched to see the dark aura of Y/N.

"Well, well, well... The little birdie told me that you guys are in a fight. I wonder why.." she said, smirking.

"S-Sis!! H-Hey!! What's...up...?" Sonic squeaked.

"Y-Y/N!! T-This is..just...!" Knuckles tried to make an excuse, but it was no use.

In the blink of an eye, she whacked them on their entire body using her whip. They yelled in pain, hugging their body, curling themselves into a ball.

"P-Please..! Forgive us..!"

"Forgive me...!"

"I would love to forgive you, but in order for me to forgive you, you have to help me stop Eggman!! My friends are captured!!" she yelled and turned, noticing the smoke rising in the distance.

Sonic and Knuckles look to where she's looking at.

"Guys..."

"I gotta go check it out." Sonic said, about to run.

"Oh, no you don't."

Y/N grabbed Sonic and Knuckles and tied them up with her whip.

"Wait. What are you doing?"

Y/N didn't answer them and hoisted them onto her back and bend down her knees, activating her rocket roller skates. The boys looked down and realized what she was going to do.

"Hey, sis? You do realize that we're behind with those rockets.." Sonic said.

"Isn't it a bit...dangerous?" Knuckles asked.

Y/N looked at them over her shoulder and smirked evilly. Sonic and Knuckles gulped, not liking this. Her rocket then brought out fire and she zippped towards the smoke. Sonic and Knuckles are covered in ashes as they scream for their life.

Meanwhile, Chris, Hikaru, Tails, and Amy are trying to escape the wreckage of Pumpty.

"Heeey! Get us down from here!" Amy shouted.

Eggman swoops in.

"Look what you've done! You've wrecked my robot! And it isn't even insured..."

Y/N zoomed in with her boys on her back, and did a kangaroo jump from her skates and kicked Pumpty, causing it to fall over. She stopped her speed and looked up at her friends with worry.

"You guys okay?" she asked and released her whip, dropping the boys, gaining a grunt.

The four brighten at their hero.

"Thanks, Y/N!" Hikaru said.

"And I see she taught the boys a lesson. Good riddance." Amy smiled, watching the boys got up from pain.

"It's not over, Y/N! My robot may be down, but it certainly isn't out." Eggman said.

Using its shovel arms as spare legs, Pumpty stands right back up. Several cannons appear out of its bottom half, which is now its top half.

"Attack!"

Pumpty's cannons fire at Y/N, Sonic, and Knuckles. Sonic quickly grabbed Y/N and hide behind the rock. The lasers reduce the rock to dust. Sonic and Y/N fleed as the cannons continue to fire. Suddenly, Knuckles appears who luckily dodged the lasers and kicks one of the cannons. Eggman gasps as Knuckles lands.

"What gives?! This is a battle between Sonic and me! And you just attack Y/N!!"

"So what? If you're going to insist on fighting a clean fight, then I'm going to start playing dirty!"

Using its new legs, Pumpty activates rocket engines and blasts into the air, carring a terrified Tails, Amy, Hikaru, and Chris with it. It lands on the other side of the lake.

"Plan A didn't work, so now we'll have to go on to Plan B. Bring me that Chaos Emerald, or you'll never see your friends again!"

"What is this?" Knuckles asked. "Eggman swore to me that all he wanted was to live in peace."

"I told you didn't I? I even warn you about trusting him.." Y/N shook her head.

"That swindler. He lied!"

"You're catchin' on, pal." Sonic smirked.

"All because of your naivety.." Y/N growled. "Idiots!"

Y/N bonked them on the head, showing a big bump.

"Ow!!" they groaned in pain.

"Sonic!"

Sonic turns to Eggman.

"What?"

"We all know your weak spot is water. So I stuck your friends over there, where you can't save them without treading H2O."

"Are you that dumb? Because this lake is a circle." she deadpanned. "If you use common sense, he wouldn't be going around the lake to save his friends." 

"Huh?!"

Sonic proceeds to run around the lake, much to Eggman's dismay. Sonic slices right through Pumpty's legs, causing it to fall. Sonic stops, a smug expression on his face.

"Show off."

"Are you alright?" Sonic pulls Chris from the wreckage.

"I'm okay."

Hikaru struggled to his leg out from the wreck and Sonic helped him.

"Thank you, Sonic."

"No prob, Hikaru."

A tearful Amy embraces Sonic.

"Sonic!"

"Take it easy, Amy."

"I just knew that you'd come here to save me!"

The five are distracted by a movement from Pumpty. They flee as Pumpty uses its rockets to levitate in the air.

"I'm not calling it quite yet, Sonic! You only had a preview of this robot's firepower. You and your friends are through!" Eggman said as Pumpty opens a hatch, and unleashes a huge swarm of rockets at the heroes.

"I got you now!"

Sonic, Amy, Tails, Hikaru, and Chris take cover behind a rock as the missiles explode around them. Knuckles carried Y/N over to where her friends are.

"Let me take care of Eggman." Knuckles told Sonic.

"Okay!"

Knuckles charges toward Pumpty, avoiding its laser fire, before leaping into the air and punching several holes in Pumpty. From the top of Pumpty, he jumps to Eggman's level.

"You..." Eggman yelped.

"YOU LIAR!"

He punches the Eggmobile away.

"Aaaaaahhhhh!"

The Eggmobile disappears in a twinkle. Knuckles then lands on top of Pumpty, punching its head. A crack runs right down the robot, and it explodes. As the friends shield themselves from the debris, Y/N rocket skated towards Knuckles. Sonic tried to stop her, but it's too late.

"Knuckles!"

She grabbed his hand and took out her sword and stabbed into a tree and held it tight while the explosion's wind whips through them. The wind finally dies down, and Sonic, Tails, Amy, Hikaru, and Chris blink in surprise at the ruined scenery. Y/N released her sword and they both leap down from the tree. Knuckles smiled at Y/N and stroked her front hair out of the way for him to see her eyes better. This made her blush and smiled. Their moment had to end when Sonic yelled.

"Sis!!!"

He, Tails, Amy, Hikaru, and Chris run up to them.

"You both made it!" Chris and Hikaru said in relief.

Sonic embraced his sister in a hug.

"Don't scare me like that! I thought I lost you!"

"I'm fine, Sonic." she said. "Knuckles and I had it all under control."

Knuckles turns to leave.

"Knuckles!" Chris called out to the echidna.

Knuckles waves at them. Amy runs after him.

"I bet you want to apologize to Sonic for believing all the lies Eggman told about him, and you probably want to thank him too while you're too proud." she teased him. "You probably want to say that Y/N is right about trusting Eggman and that you love her with all your heart! Just admit it! You really li-"

Knuckles suddenly turns on Amy.

"Zip it!"

Amy is taken aback for a moment, but she smiles. Knuckles smirks at the rest of the group. He then look at Y/N for a few seconds as she smiles back.

"Later." he wave and leaves into the woods with a shot of sunset being shown.
