"Sonic! Y/N!"

Suddenly, Chris grabs Sonic's and Y/N's hands and takes off running with them, far, far away. Everyone is shocked even more.

"Chris!" Chuck shouted.

Chris continues running with Sonic and Y/N as far as he can.

"Chris!" the hedgehog siblings exclaimed.

With determination, Chris tightens his grip on Sonic's and Y/N's hands. Sonic and Y/N does the same. Sonic runs and Y/N skates faster, and is running and skating ahead of Chris.

Chris' confusion vanishes, and he too runs faster.

"I hope that boy can come to his senses before it's too late." Chuck said.

Tanaka and Topaz return from their search.

"Are they...?" Ella asked.

Tanaka shook his head.

"We could not find him anywhere."

Nelson and Lindsey look at each other in concern.

"We'll never find him now without help. The police will have to set up a large-scale search."

Tanaka looks at Topaz sadly.

"As you know, this is serious. We have to find them quickly."

"Yes. We don't have much time to cause Chaos Control and send Sonic and Y/N back. Soon, the melding of our two world will cause time to slow to a stop." Chuck said.

"Chris..."

They hug, and Lindsey struggles not to cry.

Morning comes, and Chris and Sonic and Y/N walk by the train station.

"What do we do now?" Chris asked.

"I don't know." Sonic said while Y/N just shrugs.

"Well, we can't go back home. Wait... Hey Sonic, Y/N, look!"

Chris spies a bicycle nearby. He is soon riding it, with Sonic and Y/N sitting on the back of it behind Chris. A boy is getting the mail and milk, when he realizes his bike was stolen.

"Hey Mom, somebody took my old bike."

"Your father left it in the city. He thought somebody could use it."

The boy heads back into the house.

Chris is soon riding through a rich neighborhood. He has earlier ditched his suit, now only wearing his red tie and salmon dress shirt.

"How far should we go, Sonic, Y/N?"

"We can go as far as you want to, Chris."

"It's your choice."

"Okay."

Chris rides on, exerting his energy as he pedals into the desert. Soon they are seen eating at a diner.

"We have to stop somewhere."

"I usually just keep running until I find someplace I like. The best trips are the ones you don't plan. Not knowing where you'll end up is part of the adventure." Sonic said.

"I mostly travel around the forest. There are some best places out there where it's peace and quiet and full of wonderful nature as well as creatures that I encounter. You should also see the waterfall Knuckles and I have found. It was wonderful." Y/N said.

"You know... the world sure seems big when you can go anyplace..." Chris said.

Sonic downs his burger and Y/N bites her french fries.

"Are you sure there's no place you two want to go to?"

"I think I've already gone every place I want to go."

"I'm good."

"Right. I forgot how much you like to travel. You probably ran across the whole planet already."

"That's why I'm happy to go wherever you say."

"I wouldn't mind having another adventure."

"Okay."

A map is open to a place called "Dolorado". 

"Well, let's see... The beach is definitely out... The desert's too hot..." Chris listed out.

The man behind the counter turns on the TV.

"This is an SXN update. Sonic the Hedgehog and Y/N the Hedgehog have been abducted. Authorities are looking for this boy, Christopher Thorndyke, the only child of corporate tycoon Nelson Thorndyke and actress Lindsey Thorndyke, who has issued this emotional plead."

Chris is beyond shocked.

"Chris, darling... Your father and I are worried about you! Please come home!" Lindsey cried on TV.

Chris, Sonic, and Y/N hit the trail again.

"When you have famous parents, you can't do anything without the world finding out."

"They must be worried."

"Don't you think you should talk things out with them?"

"Oh yeah? How come... they're not... worried when I... need 'em... to be?"

"Sonic doesn't seem worried either. Y/N though is worried. Maybe I should go back."

Chris stops when he hears and sees military helicopters behind them.

"Those are my dad's!"

Sonic hops off the bike while Y/N stays put.

"Well, Chris? You give up?" Sonic asked.

"...No!" Chris shook his head.

"Okay! Then wait right here."

There is a pickup truck reaching the crossing ahead of Chris. Sonic stops right in front of the vehicle, forcing the driver to slam on the brakes. When he looks up, there is nothing.

"Hey... where'd he go?"

Sonic looks in from the roof of the vehicle.

"Can you give us a lift?"

Soon, the bike is ditched, and Chris, Sonic, and Y/N are safe inside the pickup truck. While Sonic and Y/N are resting in the hay in the bed of the truck, Chris stares worriedly out the window, then at Sonic and Y/N. The helicopter pilots suspect nothing. The truck then stops by the forest.

"Thanks, again. Bye!"

"Bye!"

"See ya!"

Chris, Sonic, and Y/N disembark from the truck and wave goodbye as the driver drives away.

"Let's go."

He starts walking into the forest, and Sonic and Y/N follows. As Chris struggles to climb over a fallen log, Sonic instantly vaults it and runs ahead. Y/N helps Chris up.

Now they are walking along a set of train tracks.

"Sonic, Y/N, have you ever beem to this place before?" Chris asked.

"I might have run past it once."

"No, I haven't."

"It's pretty easy to forget. You move so fast, and you've been so many places. Maybe you'll forget about me someday too..."

They stop at a junction and look at the mountains.

"I do forget."

"But it'd be impossible for us to forget you."

Chris turns to Sonic and Y/N.

"You mean it?"

"Of course we do! How could we forget somebody who's got us in so much trouble?"

Chris beams and starts running. Sonic and Y/N walks after him. Later, Chris and Y/N are sitting on a bench, and Sonic is reclining on a wooden crate nearby. All three of them are eating bread. There are pigeons everywhere.

"Guess everybody's looking for us."

"We won't be too easy to find. It's a big planet."

Chris crumples his slice of bread and lets the pigeons eat it.

"Yeah. We could hide out for a long time. They might stop lookin' for us. Even... my family."

Chris stands up.

"Let's go."

They get up and leave. Soon they reach a waterfall. Sonic and Y/N watches Chris as he attempts to scale it. Sonic and Y/N reaches the top, and there is a rock that is just out of Chris' reach. Sonic stretches out his hand, and Chris grabs it. The hedgehog pulls the human to safety and gives him a wink and thumbs-up. Later still, they are climbing a hill. Chris begins running, but stumbles over a stone.

"Chris!" Sonic and Y/N cried out.

He falls to the ground just as Sonic and Y/N arrive.

"Here, let me give you a hand." Y/N said.

Chris gets up.

"I don't need a hand! I can do it myself. Come on!"

He continues running, and stops at the top of the hill. Sonic and Y/N joins him. Their jaws drop at something they see.

"I've never been here before. How'd you know about this place?" Sonic asked.

"Woah..." Y/N gasped.

They are seeing a magnificent lake near a forest at the base of a mountain range. Chris, Sonic, and Y/N walk toward a villa of some sort. It is now sunset.

"You know this place?" Sonic asked.

"Yeah. I used to come here every summer with my mom and dad... when I was a little kid."

Chris tries the lock on the front door, but to no avail.

"It's no use."

He looks in the window. Everything is covered in cobwebs.

"One year, we just stopped coming. They kept saying we'd come back the next summer, but they were always too busy."

Sonic tries the lock. It comes undone.

"Huh. Looks like the chain broke."

Chris gives a sheepish thumbs-up.

"Let me try." Y/N said, taking out her katana.

"I wouldn't do that. Who knows how old the door was."

Y/N sheathes her katana.

"Alright."

That night, they are camping out by the lake.

"Hey Sonic, Y/N! I collected some firewood!"

He emerges from the clearing carrying a huge armload of wood. However, he trips over a rock and falls. Sonic and Y/N rushes over and catches both him and the wood.

"You okay, Chris?"

"You hurt?"

"I'm fine."

"Want some help?"

Chris stands up and takes the wood from Sonic.

"No thanks. I can do it myself."

"Okay..." the siblings said.

"Sonic and Y/N are probably mad that I stopped them from going home. I wonder why they came with me?"

Soon they have a fire going.

"Sonic? Y/N? You haven't said anything about how I kept you guys from going home." Chris said.

"I was waiting to hear what you had to say." Sonic said.

"I also wanted to know how you feel." Y/N added.

"Sonic... Y/N... why did you come with me? Are you gonna stay?"

"That's up to you."

"Uh... So if I say... 'I don't want you to go back home'... will you... stay here with me forever?"

"I'll do whatever you tell me to do."

Chris is surprised.

"You saved me and help my sis when I first came to this world."

Chris stands up. He appears a little upset.

"So thats it. You've been acting like my friend all this time 'cause you thought you owed me!"

"Chris, that's not true. That's not what he meant." Y/N tried to convince him that he's misunderstanding.

"You felt like you had to be my friend 'cause I pulled you two out of that pool."

There is a flashback of Sonic and Y/N soaring through the air.

"Um...Sonic?"

"Huh?" he asked.

Y/N laughed nervously and pointed down below. He looked down to see a familiar blue color.

"A... A pool?!"

He grins sheeplishly at her.

"Uh...oh!"

There are two things her brother couldn't stand. Going slow and mostly water because he can't swim, except her. He tries to run in midair to land elsewhere, but he can't as he looked at Y/N again.

"See ya!"

Sonic lands in the water with a tremedous splash.

"SONIC!!"

What they didn't know is that Chris is awake inside the house after hearing a loud splash. He turns on the light and looks out the window. He sees Y/N landed near the pool and took off her rocket wheels and turned them into a cube and placed them in her box for it to be charged and then put them in her red mini backpack.

He then races out of his room, down the hall, down the stairs, and out the door en route to the pool. Back to Y/N as she watched in worry as her brother tried to run, but finally gives up and sat at the bottom with his arms crossed. She shook her head, took a deep breath, and dove down into the water. She reached out for him and grabbed his wrist, pulling him to the surface. Just as they were halfway to the surface, when Chris breaks through the surface and stretches out his hand.

"And you paid me back by pretending to be my friend."

"No, Chris. You know that we really are your friend."

"You... are?"

"If you need us to stay here with you, then we will. You just have to decide. It's up to you." Y/N said.

"We can go home... or stay. The decision is yours." Sonic said.

"Well... I'm not sure. I'd be happier if you stayed in this world. If time does stop, we could stay here forever. Our friendship would never have to end. But Sonic... Y/N... don't stay here... if it's gonna make you unhappy." Chris said, looking at them.

"Don't worry about us."

Sonic and Y/N stands up.

"As long as there's somewhere to run... and skate..."

He and Y/N starts running and skating.

"...we'll be happy."

They stop in front of Chris.

"I really wouldn't mind stayin' here with ya. Honest!"

"It would be nice to stay here and take a nice view of the waterfall we saw earlier."

"But... you can't stay here, Sonic, Y/N. It wouldn't be right, would it? I can't let time stop because I wouldn't want to lose your guys' friendship."

Chris starts to cry again.

"It was wrong of me... to try to keep you in this world... It's just... I wasn't ready to say goodbye yet... You've always been there for me when I needed you, but in the end, I let you down."

His tears start flowing.

"I'm sorry! I was just selfish... Please forgive me..."

He sits down, and his tears land on the ground. Sonic places his hand on Chris' shoulder, while Y/N pats Chris' head.

"Hey. No tears."

"Don't cry, Chris."

"When you're gone, I'll be alone again, like I was before you two came."

A flashback of the toddler Chris at the door after his parents leave is shown. Another shot of Chris with his parents' presents is shown.

"Ever since I was little, I've been waiting for a friend like you, Sonic and Y/N. It's just so hard to say goodbye."

Sonic leaps onto a nearby rock. Y/N just stare at Chris with a kind smile.

"Maybe this isn't goodbye. Maybe our worlds were meant to come together somehow. If that;'s true... then we will see each other again... some day..."

Chris stands up.

"Some day..."

He hugs Sonic and Y/N.

"In the meantime, whenever we miss each other, we can look at the moon. It looks the same from both worlds, you know."

Y/N looks at Chris.

"Hey, Chris. Mind if I sing you a song one last time?"

Chris looks at her and nods, wanting to hear it. Y/N then began to sing.

Meanwhile, Nelson and Lindsey are running through a forest, Nelson bearing a flashlight. They are searching for Chris, as it has now been twenty-four hours since Chris shut down the portal and run off with Sonic and Y/N.

"Chris was so happy when we came here years ago. He's here. I'm sure!"

"I bet Chris is waiting for us... and we'll have a chance to make everything up to him now."

Soon the villa is in sight. They search the grounds for Chris. They spot Chris standing on the dock.

"Chris!"

"Chris!"

Chris turns around and smiles. He did it. He let Sonic and Y/N go.
