Various animals from Sonic's and Y/N's world can be seen travelling through Station Square. Sonic and Y/N runs or skates up a skyscraper and stands atop it. Seeing what is going on in the park below, they went down the skyscraper. Kids are running or roller skating like Sonic or Y/N. People are sleeping in trees. Others style their hair like Sonic's quills or Y/N's front hair and quills. One person even lays out colored stones in the shape of Sonic's head while the other did Y/N's head. Another displays Sonic-themed badges and Y/N-themed badges. Yet another makes wooden Sonic and Y/N sculptures. This is the Freedom Movement. Sonic and Y/N runs or skates into the park.

A woman looks up from her Sonic and Y/N painting.

"Look, everybody!"

"Oh wow, Sonic and Y/N are here!"

Soon, they had the attention of everyone in the park. They all stampede after them.

"Calm down, will ya?" Sonic waved his hands.

"Run!!!" Y/N shouted as both of them flee away from the fan boys and girls.

In Thorndyke Industries building, Nelson is typing on a computer. His employee Miranda Curtis walks in.

"Good morning, Mr. Thorndyke."

"Good morning, Suzy."

"Those documents I mentioned are ready for you if you have the time."

"Ah. Just leave them right here, please."

"Yes, sir."

She snaps her fingers, and five men walk in carrying huge armloads of papers. They lay them on the table. Nelson looks at the papers.

"Hey, what is all this stuff, Suzy?"

The men leave. Miranda places a clipboard on top of one of the stacks.

"Apparently our home appliance division has been absolutely flooded with customer complaint forms."

"Are you kidding me? This can't be! Why, we've hardly ever received any complaints about our products before. How could this have happened now?"

"I think you'd better watch this."

Miranda turns on a TV, which shows Scarlet convering the Freedom Movement story.

"Sonic's and Y/N's popularity seems to be affecting people throughout the city in all sorts of amazing ways. From groups of children playing "catch the hedgehogs" to adults sleeping on rooftops like their hero, Sonic's and Y/N's fame seems to be reaching astonishing proportions. In fact, a large number of citizens are leaving their jobs in order to follow their idols. From Station Square Park, I'm Scarlet Garcia, SSTV News."

Miranda turns off the TV. A laughing Nelson stands up.

"I knew Sonic and Y/N are famous, but that's ridiculous. Uh... But what does all this have to do with those complaints, Suzy?"

"As you know, many of our employees are wild about Sonic and Y/N too."

Nelson nods.

"Well, some of them have left the company and started Sonic and Y/N fan clubs, and most of the assembly line workers spend so much time talking about Sonic and Y/N that their work has become shoddy. And now our customers are complaining like crazy!"

Nelson cries out.

"If this keeps up, we might have to go out of business." Miranda said.

"I'm not losing Thorndyke Industries over some silly hedgehog siblings!"

The phone rings, and Nelson answers it.

"Thorndyke here." Nelson looks alarmed. "What is it? What's the matter, Ella?"

In Thorndyke mansion in Chris' room, Ella is on the phone with Nelson.

"I just thought you should know that I kept Chris home from school today because he has a snuffle in his nose."

"It's no big deal, Dad. I'm totally fine." Chris said who's on the bed.

"I'm giving him plenty of fresh orange juice, and he'll have a nice big bowl of my homemade chicken soup for lunch. If he gets some rest, I'm sure he'll be better in a day or so."

Back to Nelson who's clearly anxious.

"But what if he gets worse? I'm leaving the office right now. Just tell Chris to sit tight."

He hangs up.

"Suzy, get my helicopter ready immediately."

"What's wrong, Mr. Thorndyke?"

"My son may be gravely ill. I've got to get home right away before it's too late!"

He runs to the door, but stops.

"Suzy, get Ed from home appliances in here and tell him I want these complaints taken care of by the end of the day!"

Nelson runs out of the room.

Elsewhere, Lindsey is filming a movie involving her driving a motorcycle. A camera car drives alongside her. Nelson's helicopter arrives on scene.

"Hey, what's that helicopter doing up there?" Director questioned.

Lindsey stops the motorcycle as the helicopter descends. They communicate by cell phone.

"I hope this is important. I'm in the middle of a scene!"

"I'm sorry, Lindsey, but we've got an emergency!"

"Emergency?"

The chopper drops a rope ladder. Lindsey runs toward it and grabs on. The cameraman continues filming.

"Hey... What about me?"

The helicopter flies away.

In the living room, Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Vanilla, Chuck, and Emerl are gathered in the living room, some enjoying tea. Ella enters with dessert.

"Well, how's our little patient feeling, Ella?" Chuck asked.

Ella sets the dessert down on the table.

"Right now, he's taking a nice long nap. I'm sure the rest will do him lots of good."

"Wonderful."

Tanaka enters with the vacuum.

"Good news, Ella. Your vacuum cleaner just came back from the repair shop."

"Ah, welcome home, my little amigo! I hate to say it, but Mr. Thorndyke's company doesn't make the good products the way they used to. They're always breaking."

"Please forgive me, Ella. I would have fixed it for you myself, but mainly I've been spending all my spare time trying to figure out what's wrong with Emel." Chuck said.

"Oh, sure. I understand, Mr. Thorndyke."

"Is Emel feeling sick too?" Cream asked in concern.

"Chao?" Cheese questioned.

"Yes. When I examined him yesterday, I found that all his program data had been erased somehow."

Amy looks at Emerl.

"Poor Emel..."

"Maybe I can take care of Emel like Ella takes care of Chris." Cream said.

"Chao-chao!"

"That's very thoughtful of you, Cream." Vanilla smiled at her daughter.

Just then, they hear the sound of a helicopter. Everyone runs outside to see Nelson and Lindsey emerging from it. They wave.

Everyone now gathers in Chris' room.

"Why are... they here?" Chris questioned.

"How are you feeling, buddy? I heard you were sick, so I rushed right home--" Nelson was cut off by his wife.

"I'm here, baby."

They hug Chris.

"Don't you think you're overreacting? It's just the common cold. Everyone gets them." Chuck said.

"Yes, I know, but when I heard, I just couldn't keep my mind on my work." Nelson said.

"Same here." Lindsey nodded.

Chuck went upset.

"NELSON! You're impossible! Don't you see? What kind of example are you giving your son, abandoning your workplace just because of a harmless little cold?"

"But Dad, I just wanted to--"

"Don't you "But Dad" me, Mr. Big Shot goof-off! How irresponsible can you get?!"

Now Nelson went upset.

"Now listen here, Dad! If I want to take a day off to visit my son when he's got a disease, it's nobody's business but mine!"

"If I were you, I couldn't afford to take time off! Not when every product you make goes off the assembly line straight into the junk shop!" Chuck argued back.

"I'll have you know the real reason behind those bad appliances are your friends Sonic and Y/N!"

"How dare you put the blame on Sonic and Y/N! Can't you even take responsibility for your own incompetence?!"

"Everybody stop yelling!" Chris shouted, having enough of this.

They stop and look at Chris.

"Darling..." Lindsey said.

"Sorry about that, big guy. Guess we got a little carried away there." Nelson said.

"Is this what you came home for? To argue? If you care about me, you have a funny way of showing it!"

The others are surprised.

"Sorry..." Chuck looked down.

Little do they know that, in the living room, the vacuum cleaner assembles itself, moves over to the TV, and attaches a chip to it. It then proceeds to attach chips to various house appliances.

Everyone except Chris are now at the top of the double stairs. Chuck and Nelson are snubbing each other.

"Chris didn't mean what he said. It's just a reaction to the antibiotics. Ahh, I just had the most wonderful idea. I'll make his favorite cherry pie. One big bite of that and he'll be smiling from ear to ear." Ella suggested.

"How marvelous! A pie! Let's all pitch in and make it together, huh?" Lindsey smiled.

But the tension between Nelson and Chuck shows no signs of letting up. Everyone is now in the kitchen, prepared to make a cherry pie. Lindsey is now in her normal outfit. Chuck and Nelson are still ignoring each other.

"Alright, everybody, let's get started." Ella said.

"Let's. It looks like we've got everything we need. Everything except the cherries."

Lindsey walks over to the fridge and tugs on the door, but to no avail.

"It won't budge."

"That's strange."

Ella and Lindsey together try to open the fridge. Suddenly, the hand mixer automatically whirs to life and floats into the air. It sports evil red eyes.

"Watch out!"

The mixer speeds toward Ella and Lindsey. Nelson tackles them out of the way right before it crashes through the fridge, shocking everyone.

"I can't believe what I'm seeing." Chuck said.

The hand mixer breaks out of the fridge and speeds back toward Nelson. Suddenly, Sonic and Y/N runs in and destroys the mixer. Emerl's eyes glow white as it scans Sonic. "SKILL COPY" appears in its visual screen. Emerl then scans Y/N and copied her skill too.

"Alright! Now that's what I call mixing it up! I just beat the beater!" Sonic grinned.

Y/N growled at her brother. He quickly corrected himself.

"I mean WE just the beater!"

The fridge doors burst open, and it launches its contents at the others.

"Just leave these to me!"

Amy hammers the food away from Sonic and Y/N.

"Nice work, Amy." Y/N said.

The fridge gains red eyes and lumbers into the room. Y/N broughts out her whip and whacked the fridge into the wall, breaking it. Just then, they heard a scream in Chris' room. Inside the room, the robot, known as Gatyameca, extends one of its vacuum hands toward Chris, who cowers in the corner. Suddenly, Emerl spins through the window and destroys Gatyameca.

"Thanks, Sonic!"

Sonic runs and Y/N skates into the room.

"Chris!"

"Huh?"

Chris walks over to Emerl, surprised that he saved him and not Sonic.

"How'd you learn to do that?"

"Do what, Chris?" Sonic questioned.

"Emel spun around like you do when you go real fast."

"Woah! Really?" Y/N said in shock.

"You're kiddin' me!" Sonic said.

Suddenly, Gatyameca reassembles and rights itself. Sonic and Emerl simultaneously use homing attacks on Gatyameca, ultimately destroying it.

"Hey, good job, you guys! You got him!" Chris cheered.

Various other appliances move into the room. Sonic destroys one of the robots as Y/N destroyed the other with her sword. The resulting explosion activates the automatic sprinklers. Sonic cringes at the water as it soaks the robots. Their eyes disappear, and they fall over. Nelson and Lindsey run in, followed by Chuck, Tanaka, Ella, Tails, Amy, Cream, and Cheese.

"Chris!"

Lindsey and Nelson bends down to his level.

"Are you alright, my darling?"

"Sure, Mom. The water stopped them."

"Those sprinklers came on just in time. But I have a bad feeling we haven't seen the last of these monsters." Chuck said.

"Eggman must be doing this." Sonic guessed.

"Who wouldn't be doing this?" Y/N said not surprised at this.

"If we don't act fast, this city could be headed for a catastrophe!"

Sure enough, chaos ensues in the town as the appliances chase crowds and destroy cars.

"But now that we know water can short-circuit them, maybe we could stop them!"

"That's right."

It is revealed that the appliances have turned off the water.

"Oh no! They've done it! They've gone and shut off the water supply!" Nelson gasped.

"That's our cue, kids. Gotta run."

He and Y/N leaps through the hole that Emerl came in through.

"Sonic! Y/N!" Chris called out.

"I'm going too."

Everyone looks at Nelson in surprise.

"What?" Lindsey questioned.

"My company distributes every drop of water in this city. Customer service is what Thorndyke Industries is all about. I won't let my customers down any longer."

"I'm proud of you, Nelson." Chuck said and turned to Tails and Amy. "Fire up the X-Tornado and take my son wherever he wants to go."

"Roger!"

They and Nelson run out of the room.

"Mom, can I--"

"No, dear. I can't let you go with them." Lindsey said to Chris.

"But Mom..."

"You're staying in bed. Now let's get you out of those wet pajamas. Ella, how about some hot chocolate?"

"Coming up!"

At Station Square, Sonic runs and Y/N skates into town and kicks two appliance robots aside. Sonic then barrels through several robots surrounding a group of people along with Y/N who uses her crystal power.

"Water stops 'em, so get your hands on some H2O and let it flow!" Sonic ordered.

"We knew we can count on you, Sonic and Y/N!"

"Soak it to 'em, guys!" Y/N said.

Sonic and Y/N heads into a fire station and tells the fire chief about the robots.

"I got firefighters in every part of this city, and trucks are on the lookout. We'll blast those bad boys 'til they're good and soggy!"

"Thanks, Captain."

Upon leaving the fire station, Sonic and Y/N saw Knuckles taking on a group of robots on his own.

"Knuckles!" Y/N shouted.

"Yo, Knuckles!" Sonic shouted.

The echidna looks up to see Sonic and Y/N break through the barricade and stop at his side. They manage to hold the appliances back.

"Well, it's about time. I'm getting attacked by everything but the kitchen sink."

"Too bad usin' our fists isn't gonna work for long. Water's all that really works on 'em. The firefighters are on their way." Sonic said.

"We'll have to do our best to fight 'em back in the meantime." Y/N finished his sentence as she brought out her giant fist whip.

Upon hearing the sound of familiar laughter, Sonic and Y/N looks up to see Eggman, Bocoe, Decoe, and Bokkun.

"Well, Sonic and Y/N. I must commend you and your valiant efforts to annihilate my army of attacking appliances, but I'm afraid my menacing machines are still on the march."

The Eggmobile broadcasts a signal across the city, and all electronic devices surround Sonic, Y/N, and Knuckles.

The X-Tornado lands outside the reservoir, and Nelson, Tails, and Amy climb out. As expected, two appliance robots lumber out of the building. Amy draws her hammer.

"Okay!"

After she destroys the robots, the three run inside the building and up to the reservoir control area. After Nelson taps a few buttons, several lights light up.

"It looks okay!" Tails said.

"Well, the water supply system itself had been restored, but I'm afraid that somethimg must be jamming the main sluice gate. Whatever it is must be blocking toe flow of water." Nelson explained.

"Is there any way you can fix it?"

"There's only one way, Amy, but it's not going to be easy."

He picks up his cell phone. Everyone (including Chris, who is now in his normal outfit) is now in the living room as Chuck is on the phone with Nelson.

"What's happening, Son?"

"Well, I was able to restore the main supply system, but there seems to be something in the way of the sluice gate, so the water isn't getting out. We've got to get that gate open, and fast!"

"I'll take care of it."

Soon, Lindsey and Chris watch from the balcony as Tanaka and Chuck board Nelson's helicopter.

"Mom, can't I please go too?"

"Now Chris--"

"Mom, please let me! Honest, I already feel a lot better! C'mon, I promise I'll be okay!"

Lindsey feels Chris' forehead.

"Well, if you really truly want to go, I'll let you, but under one condition: I'm coming along with you, okay?"

"Sure it's okay!"

Back to Station Square as the appliance robots continue to fight their way toward Sonic, Y/N, and Knuckles, who show signs of fatigue.

"Heheheh! When battling a washing machine, one can't be wishy-washy! My, these modern household conveniences certainly aren't inconvenient, aren't they, Sonic and Y/N?"

Eggman laughs heartily.

"Hey Bocoe, they sure do look worn out, don't they?" Decoe said.

"You can say that again. A part of me feels bad for them. ...But I can always have that part removed, I suppose."

"Whoa, just look at 'em! They're really mangling whose machines!" Bokkun said.

"Man, I'm runnin' out of steam..." Sonic panted.

"I can't keep this up much longer..." Knuckles panted.

"Don't give up..." Y/N panted.

At the Station Square dam, the helicopter lands and Chris, Tanaka, Lindsey, and Chuck disembark.

"Listen up. The main sluice gate's been destroyed for good, which means our only choice is to open up this valve. All right now, everybody get into position."

The four of them pull on the valve with all their might, but to no avail. The X-Tornado approaches to land.

"Here comes Dad!" Chris smiled.

The X-Tornado lands, and Tails, Amy, and Nelson disembark and approach the others.

"What are you doing here, Son? Shouldn't you be at home in bed?"

"I had to come and help. It's my responsibility."

"That's my boy."

"We've got work to do, darling." Lindsey said.

"Right."

With the added help, they are finally able to turn the valve and raise the gate, releasing the water.

"We did it! We did it!"

Chris and Lindsey hug. Nelson joins in.

"Good job, dear!"

"Oh, darling!"

Chuck and Tanaka fist pump. Tails and Amy high-five.

"Yeah!"

With the water restored, Sonic, Y/N, and Knuckles take hoses to the appliance robots. Finally, the last of the robots spark and fall over.

"Well, I guess that does it." Sonic said.

"Phew. Yeah, finally." Y/N wiped the sweat off of her head.

"Yeah." Knuckles nodded.

"Impossible! I could have sworn we cut off the water supply!" Eggman cried out.

"Someone must have turned it back on, Doctor!" Decoe said.

"Looks like your plan is a washout, Doctor." Bocoe added.

"And just when we were this close to stopping Sonic and Y/N once and for all!" Eggman said.

"I thought they were goners, but they sure showed us, didn't they?" Bokkun said.

"Well, what is the plan?"

"Yeah, Doctor, what do we do now?"

"On to the next strategy!"

The Eggmobile takes off.

"Wait for me, will ya? Come on, you guys, wait up!"

Bokkun follows, and the villains are out of sight.

"They never give up, huh? Can't take a hint that we'll always win." Y/N said.

"Yeah." Knuckles agreed.
