Sonic and Y/N speeds toward another two Mirror Tower.

"Here goes another one!"

He spins through the first Mirror Tower, destroying it. He cockily rubs under his nose.

"Alright! Bulls-eye!"

Y/N activated her crystal power and brought out her sword as she sliced the second Mirror Tower in half, destroying it. She wiped the sweat off her head.

"That felt good and satisfying!"

In the White House, Eggman pounds the President's desk.

"I'm warning you, Mr. President, Sonic and Y/N will stop at nothing. Nothing! They must be eliminated!"

"Now, please don't get excited, Eggman. Just calm down."

"Calm down? How can I be calm with this menace on the loose? I've worked hard to bring light to your people, but all Sonic and Y/N wants to do is stop me!"

"Yes, I believe you're right. They are public threat. Instruct my commanders that I want Sonic and Y/N stopped immediately!"

"Yes, sir!" Christina nodded.

Soon, an army of GUN Hot Shot robots march down the streets. A GUN helicopter containing Topaz takes off. Rouge flies alongside it. Back inside the White House, the President and Christina are watching the footage of the Hot Shots. Eggman stands nearby, with a sinister grin on his face. He quietly laughs.

"Those gasbags sure are gullible, aren't they?"

"They sure are, right, Bocoe?"

"Heheh. Sonic and Y/N are finished."

At Helen's house, Helen is inside, looking out the window at the darkened neighborhood.

"I miss the light..." she sighs.

Knuckles happens to be walking by outside when he notices Helen.

"Poor little kid..."

Knuckles continues walking. Several people run up to him.

"Knuckles!"

"We got a really big favor to ask you."

"Favor?" Knuckles questioned.

People continue to gather around him.

"If Sonic and Y/N keep knocking down the Mirror Towers, we'll never get out of the dark!"

"They'll listen to you."

"Help us."

Back to the hedgehog siblings, Sonic and Y/N runs and skates toward another two Mirror Towers. A Hot Shot flies after them and fires several missiles at them, which they easily dodges. Two GUN Laser Hunters appear in front of them. One of them fires at Sonic, but misses as he leaps on top of the first one. The second Laser Hunter fires at the first, destroying the head. The third fires at Y/N, but she reflects them with her sword and hops onto the second one as the first fires at the second, destroying it as well. The Hot Shot opens fire at Sonic and Y/N. Both of them destroyed the Hot Shot with one swift kick, creating a brilliant explosion behind them as they continue running and skating.

"Okay!"

Sonic spirals up the Mirror Tower and destroys it as Y/N destroys the second Mirror Tower with her sword.

"Only you can stop Sonic and Y/N from knocking down the towers."

"Please, Knuckles. We don't know who else to turn to."

"We're begging you."

"We're counting on you, Knuckles."

Knuckles closes his eyes for a moment before opening them again.

"Alright. I'll give it a try."

"You'll really talk to them?"

"Thanks, Knuckles."

"He's gonna do it!"

"You're the best, Knuckles."

Knuckles clenches his fists in anger.

"You've gone too far, Sonic, and I've got to stop you. But Y/N's part of this? What's going on with her?"

Knuckles waits behind a rock near one of the Mirror Towers. He sees a dust cloud in the distance, followed by Sonic and Y/N barreling or skating toward two towers.

"At last..."

Three GUN Hawks emerge from hiding and target Sonic and Y/N. They blast at them, but they kick or slice them aside or off and skids to a stop in front of Knuckles.

"Knuckles!" Y/N exclaimed in surprise.

"Hey, Knuckles. Good to see you, old buddy. What's up?" Sonic held a smile on his face.

"This..."

Knuckles attempts to land a flying punch on Sonic, but he dodges.

"Hey!"

Y/N immediately defended her brother and went in front of Knuckles.

"What are you doing?!"

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you are trying to pick a fight!" Sonic said.

"Right!"

Knuckles pushed Y/N aside and lands a punch on Sonic backward.

"This is no fight if that's all you got!"

Knuckles attempts to punch Sonic again, but the hedgehog backflips and strikes Knuckles with a flurry of kicks, which Knuckles blocks. Sonic lands on a rock which Knuckles shatters with a punch, but Sonic kicks him back before proceed to chase him up the cliff.

"Come on! I'm gonna teach you a lesson, Sonic!"

Y/N immediately got up and ran up to them and blocked Knuckles' fist.

"No! I'm gonna teach you a lesson! You're so gullible when it comes to trusting Eggman!"

She strikes Knuckles in the face with a hard punch with the help of the crystal, making him grunt in pain. He got up glaring at her.

"Why are you doing this?!"

"To get you to understand of course! We're doing this for yours and everyone's own good! You gotta listen!"

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you have gone too far for following Sonic's footsteps. So you better make a choice here!"

"I am making a choice! I know what I'm doing! If you won't listen, then I'm gonna keep hitting you till you look nothing but a red jam!" Y/N harshly glares at him, making him flinch in fright as well as Sonic.

Y/N brought out her whip and raised it up, spinning it.

"From now on, you're gonna learn to be more cautious, understandable, and less trustful towards your enemy like Eggman!"

She began hitting him again and again, making him yell as she wrapped her whip around him, spinning him, and threw him towards the Mirror Tower as it was destroyed. The X-Tornado arrives on-scene as Sonic, Y/N, Knuckles continue their fight.

"Look down there! Sonic, Y/N, and Knuckles are fighting!" Chris exclaimed.

"That's news." Tails commented.

Sonic, Y/N, and Knuckles hit each other again, and take the blows from each other, sending the trio flying backward. They pant.

"Wanna call it quits?" Sonic asked.

"Gonna give up and listen for now?" Y/N asked, still glaring at him.

"Not until I make you two pay for the damage you've done!" Knuckles shouted.

"Fine!" Y/N shouted back.

They begin fighting again. The X-Tornado converts to X-Cyclone mode and lands between them. The hatch opens.

"Alright, you guys, cut it out right now!"

Chris leaps onto the wing of the X-Cyclone.

"Don't interfere!" Knuckles said.

"Sonic! Y/N!"

"Hey, I'm all for keeping the peace, pal." Sonic pointed at Knuckles. "It's Knuckles who started it."

"You bet I started it! Do you ever stop to think about the trouble you're causing innocent people? Do you?!"

"Trouble?! Are you serious?! How about you just shut up and listen for once?! Stop being so trustful over Eggman!" Y/N yelled.

"Okay, that's it!"

Suddenly, several floodlights shine on Sonic, courtesy of the GUN Hot Shots surrounding them. A GUN Captain speaks into a loudspeaker.

"Sonic the Hedgehog! Y/N the Hedgehog!"

"What's going on?" Chris asked.

"Stay where you are, you two! We've got you surrounded! Just turn yourself in quietly and there won't be any trouble."

The Hot Shots' crosshairs lock onto Sonic and Y/N.

"Look out!"

"I'll take care of 'em!"

"Knuckles, no!"

Sonic and Y/N calmly walks or skates up to the GUN jeep.

"Hey, hey. Chill out, everybody. Let's all stay calm." Sonic said.

"You stay calm!" Knuckles cut him off.

"Knuckles!" Chris scolded him.

"Shut up, Knuckles and listen!" Y/N yelled at him.

"Wake up, you two! Don't you know it's Sonic who's been knocking down all these towers everywhere? Especially, you Y/N!"

"Yes, I know."

Chris finds new resolve.

"It's just... Well I have faith in Sonic and Y/N! And if they're doing it, there must be a good reason!"

"See? At least, Chris is thinking." Y/N said.

"Oh yeah? Well, what good reason could there be? You tell me! I'd like to hear just one!"

"I'll give you one, Knuckles. Up there!" Sonic spoke and points to the Egg Moon.

Everyone follows his gaze.

"There's something about that Egg Moon that's been bothering me and sis."

"There's much about you that bothers me!"

Knuckles approaches Sonic, but Y/N blocks his way again and holds up her hand.

"Just... listen. Let him explain."

Knuckles clenched his fist not wanting to hurt her or make her angry any further or he'll lose his friendship with her.

"Grr... Fine. But what is there to explain? The Egg Moom won't move until it getx fixed. We know that."

"Maybe you do, but we know differently." Sonic said.

"What?"

"Let us give you a little astronomy lesson." Sonic nodded at Y/N as she finished his sentence.

"If the Egg Moon was really standing still, it couldn't block the sun all the time."

"Hey, that's right! It only looks like the Egg Moon's standing still 'cause we're moving too!" Chris said.

"And there's one more thing you can't forget. This planet and the moon are both revolving around the sun." Tails added, realizing why.

Chris tries to think about it, but gets frustrated.

"Aahh! I'm confused!"

"Chris, in order for the Egg Moon to block the sun, it's gotta be moving too." Tails pointed out.

"Eggman's been controlling it so he could control everybody into buying those silly Sunshine Balls he invented. It's just a cheap get-rich-quick scheme." Sonic explained.

"I'd say it's ridiculous for him to do that. There's no way he's helping everybody. He has no heart for it." Y/N said with a scoff.

"That lousy...! And everybody thinks he's the big hero!" Knuckles comes to conclusion, realizing his mistake.

Y/N smacked him in the face.

"Now you know why! Lesson learned for you!"

She starts poking while yelling at him right in the face.

"NEVER.EVER.TRUST.EGGMAN.EVER!!! NEVER EVER!!!"

"...Yes, ma'am..."

Knuckles looked down in shame.

"So Eggman's no hero." Sonic finished.

Knuckles became angry at him.

"Why didn't you explain this before you and Y/N knocked down the towers?!"

"I thought it was obvious." Sonic shrugs. "I can't help it if you're slow."

"Watch it!"

Knuckles turned to Y/N again.

"Y/N! Why didn't you explain this either?"

"I wanted to, but Sonic had already made up his mind."

Topaz and Rouge are standing nearby.

"Now what?"

Topaz picks up her radio.

"This is Topaz. I need to speak to the President immediately."

One phone call later, the President places the phone down. He looks very stressed.

"Mr. President. What is it, sir?" Christina asked.

"Doctor Eggman."

He turns around to see Eggman, flanked by Decoe and Bocoe, sitting in the President's seat. His feet are up on the desk.

"He's tricked us again!"

Eggman laughs.

"You've found me out, eh, Prez?"

"You've made a fool out of me for the last time, you hear?"

"Ha! From the sound of the crowd, I'm the hero and you're the fool, Mr. President!"

"This is terrible."

Eggman jerks his thumb out the window behind him, where all the people are cheering for Eggman.

"Just listen to those numskulls. They're calling for me to be their new leader."

"But... what about me?"

"You, Mr. President, are my hostage."

Sonic, Y/N, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Chris, Topaz, and Rouge are gathered in the garage.

"So now what do we do?" Chris asked.

"Well, I say If we can't destroy the Egg Moon controller from down here,  then we'll just have to get rid of it from up there." Rouge said.

"Well, what do you say, Knuckster?" Sonic grinned.

"My name's Knuckles, wise guy."

Topaz and Rouge back away from Knuckles.

"Hey. Easy boy."

"Just get used to him." Y/N said.

"If I may, I would like to pilot."

The group turns to see Tanaka in a spacesuit.

"Works for me." Topaz smiled.

Rouge sighs.

Back in the White House, the President and Christina are bound and gagged as Eggman, Decoe, and Bocoe draw on small scraps of paper.

"Perfect."

Eggman holds his paper up. It resembles a new currency.

"It's the new Eggman dollar bill."

"That is nice, Doctor, but I've made a Bocoe 100-dollar bill."

"I have got a Decoe 1000-dollar bill."

Eggman angrily throws his 'egg bills' into the air, causing his henchbots to sweatdrop.

"Keep your two ugly mugs off my money!"

Suddenly, the X-Tornado crashes through the White House wall, narrowly missing Eggman. Sonic and Y/N leaps out of the X-Tornado.

"Let's go, Eggman. Your little political party's over."

"This ends now!"

"Gah! Sonic! Y/N!"

Eggman grabs the President.

"Stop there!"

"Yeah, right!"

Sonic and Y/N approaches Eggman.

"I warn you. One step closer and he's finished."

"Careful you don't squeeze the air out."

Eggman turns to see the President and Christina standing there. They are completely free.

"Oh no!"

Eggman holds up the dummy of the President he thought was the real one. Mr. Stewart is perched right outside the door.

"Mission accomplished."

"Nice work!"

"Good job!"

They speeds toward a now-frightened Eggman, who holds the dummy in front of him like a shield.

"Keep away!!"

But the dummy is shredded to bits, and Eggman is sent barreling out of the White House.

In the shuttle, Tanaka is piloting Topaz, Rouge, and Knuckles to the Egg Moon.

"You're amazingly good at this, Mr. Tanaka." Topaz said.

"As a butler, one must have the skills to do more than simply answer doorbells."

Rouge, who has been watching the radar up to this point, turns around.

"Okay, Knuckles, hit it."

Knuckles is free-floating in space.

"Here goes!"

Knuckles disables the signal on the Egg Moon, causing the moon to orbit the earth normally once again. Sunlight returns to Station Square once again. In Thorndyke's Masnion, in the living room, Ella, Chuck, Cream, and Vanilla fire the party poppers.

"We should watch the sunrise from here some time." Tanaka suggested.

"We should!" Topaz nodded.

Knuckles returns to the shuttle.

"That's that."

He notices Rouge's depressed look.

"Hey, what's the matter, Rouge? I thought you'd be pleased."

"Eh... I liked this place better when it was in the dark."

In Station Square, Eggman, Decoe, and Bocoe are on the run.

"I liked it better when we were heroes!"

"Quiet. Just keep running. They're after us."

They stop when they see Chris standing in front of them. He is holding a sign that says 'Yes!' on one side that points to the left, and 'No!' on the other side that points to the right.

"Question one: I first met Sonic and Y/N the Hedgehogs when they fell into my living room. Yes or no?"

"No!"

They run in the appropriate direction, and stop again when they see Tails holding a similar sign.

"Next one: The X-Tornado can fly more than 300 miles an hour and can withstand attacks by changing into Battle Armor Mode."

"Yes!"

Again they run in the right direction. They see Amy holding another Yes or No sign.

"Yes or no: Sonic says I'm the prettiest girl in the whole world."

"No way, José!"

Again the villains follow the sign.

"Well, you don't have to rub it in..."

They stop one last time as they see Sonic and Y/N holding a sign together. But instead of Yes or No, it depicts the images of Eggman and Sonic and Y/N.

"Just one more to go." Sonic smirked.

"Choose wisely." Y/N smirked.

"Think carefully, Doctor. If you answer this one correctly, you will be the big winner!" Bocoe said.

"Don't worry. With my exceptionally high I.Q., I'm bound to get it right." Eggman assured them.

"Who's the coolest around? Me and sis or you?"

"What a ridiculous question! It's me, of course!"

They follow the direction the Eggman image is pointing. A giant concrete slab falls on Eggman's head, knocking him out.

"Wrong answer!" Y/N giggled.

The police are upon him in a heartbeat. Handcuffs are snapped onto him. Eggman, Bocoe, and Decoe are soon locked in the back of a prisoner transporter.

"I'll be back."

"And to think this morning we were flying high..."

"Now look at us -- jailbirds!"

"You fools! Let me out of here!!" Eggman demanded in anger.

The prisoner transporter's doors shut, and it drives away.

"From a big hero to a big zero." Sonic said.

"You said it, bro." Y/N agreed.

"Sonic! Y/N! Sonic! Y/N! Sonic! Y/N!" the crowd cheered.

The siblings quickly took off running or skating. Tails, Amy, and Chris look at each other.

"Looks like Sonic and Y/N are real heroes, but we knew that all along."

Chris turned around and winked to the readers.

"Didn't we?"

After fleeing from the fans, Y/N was right now sitting on the roof of the top building as she's drinking her favorite smoothie. She's looking down as everyone are happy that everything is in peace and back to normal. Just then the shadow appeared behind her and she turned to see Knuckles who made a distance from her, looking down, rubbing his arm.

"Hey, Y/N... How are you doing?"

"Doing fine." she replied.

"Um... I'm sorry for what I said back then. I was... stupid and just wanted to help..."

"It's alright. You did what was right. But you have to remember and I will always remind you. Never trust Eggman, alright?"

"Yeah..." Knuckles nodded.

Y/N frowned to see him down still.

"Wanna sit with me and hang out? There's room for one more."

Knuckles looked up at her in surprise.

"Really?"

"Yeah. You're forgiven anyway."

"Well... thanks."

Knuckles sat down next to her and began enjoying the view of the city along with Y/N. He scooted close and leaned against her, making her smile.
