In the room, Y/N was painting something on the white cardboard as she couldn't stop thinking about Shadow. She wish he was here. He would want to explore this world and love it here. Once she was done, she decided to go out as she brought out her skateboard with rockets and jumped out the window and blasted off with the help of the crystal's power. The painting she left earlier was the picture of Shadow and Maria.

Sonic knocks on the door.

"Sis? You in here?"

No replies from Y/N as he grew worried, knowing that she's been feeling depressed lately since Shadow was gone. He decided to open the door anyway and only found the room empty. Sonic noticed the painting, making him smile. He begins searching around the room for any sign of his sister until he found the note.

'Went out for some fresh air. I'll be okay.'

"She grows up so fast these days, huh."

"Yo! Y/N! Over here!" Rouge waved.

Y/N stopped her skateboaring and saw Rouge and Knuckles are atop a building, looking down at the city. She skated towards them and landed next to them.

"Hey, Rouge, Knuckles. What are you guys doing here?"

"Have you heard? A couple more friends from back home dropped in. Seems every day is like a regular reunion around here."

"Woah! Really? I didn't know." Y/N eyes widen in shock.

"Yeah, even I didn't know." Knuckles nodded.

"'Course, if too many of us start showing up, the humans aren't gonna be too happy. They'll probably decide we're dangerous and round us all up. Imagine us... together."

Rouge approaches Y/N.

"24/7... My, I wonder that'd be like, don't you?"

Y/N blushes as well as Knuckles.

"W-What?!"

Knuckles immediately defended her.

"Get this straight! She'd rather live in solitary confinement than with you!"

"Yeah! That's right!"

"Don't get so excited, sweetie. I'm only saying that the authorities won't like our kind around. Believe me, I don't like the idea of being locked up any more than you do. ... I should have realized that the welcome mat wouldn't be out forever."

Y/N started being reminded when the GUN did something terrible just because Shadow was created and it was only to help people. Fear is the worst thing they should never trust. There's always consequences.

"Yeah. Too good to be true. One day they love us because we're unique, and the next day we're in jail because we're different. Well, they won't take me without a fight." Knuckles said.

"I agree, Knuckles. No way am I going to back down. They have no idea who they're dealing with." Y/N said with a glare.

"Now that's the right attitude. Oh well, we'll just have to make the best of it."

Rouge walks to the other side of Y/N.

"When they come to get us, I hope you're around to protect me."

She flaps her wings and hovers above Y/N and Knuckles.

"Well, I'm off. Oh, and there's just one more thing, cutie."

"What's that?" Y/N questioned.

"I hope we share a cell. Oh, and Knuckles, you're more than welcome to join so we can share her."

Rouge flies away, leaving Y/N and Knuckles blushing again.

"R-Rouge!!!" Y/N yelled in embarrassment.

Knuckles shakes his fist in anger and embarrassment that Rouge would flirt with Y/N that way and for thinking dirty thought with Y/N.

"You're batty!"

"I hope she's joking! She keeps teasing me!" she pouted, still blushing.

"Yeah! I sure hope so!"

In a building near the pier, a Mobian crocodile is growing impatient.

"Leave it to Charmy to take his own sweet time gettin' here!"

A Mobian chameleon, Espio by name, answers.

"I'd say we've got more important things to worry about. Like where we are, for instance, and how did the the three of us get here in the first place, and how do we get back."

"Your guess is as good as mine, Espio. I'm just as confused as you are. Did we travel through time somehow? Or space, maybe?"

"Which one do you think happened?"

"What difference does it make? All that matters is that we're stuck here! And since we're stuck here, we ought to concentrate on a bigger question."

"What's that?"

"Why is half of the moon missing?!"

Just then Charmy bursts into the cabin.

"Hey! Wait'll you hear, Vector!"

The Mobian bee flies onto Vector's snout.

"You won't believe it in a million trillion years!"

"What won't I believe?" Vector questioned.

"We got blown to a whole different world!"

Charmy holds up a newspaper.

"And the proof's right here in this newspaper!"

"Charmy..."

"See?"

"Charmy!"

"Uh-huh?"

"Will. You. Get. Off. My. Nose?!"

Charmy gets off of Vector.

"Alright. Where were we, Charmy?" Espio asked.

"I don't know." Charmy replied.

Vector angrily pounds his hands on the desk.

"Gaaahhh! I ask you to do one simple thing!"

Charmy wags his finger at Vector.

"Your assignment was to find out where we are!"

Charmy props Vector's mouth open with the newspaper.

"Never mind that! Just look at this!"

He removes the paper.

"Oops, sorry."

Vector tickmarked.

"This better be good."

"Here!"

Charmy shows Vector the correct article, which shows the image of Sonic and Y/N.

"What?"

He takes the newspaper from Charmy.

"Well, if it ain't our old friends, Sonic and Y/N!"

Espio blushed at hearing Y/N's name.

"'Sonic and Y/N Saves the Day Again with the Help of Shadow.' ...The three hedgehogs Sonic, Y/N, and Shadow rescued the world from catastrophe once again when he nimbly prevented a long-forgotten space station, the Space Colony ARK, from crashing into the planet yesterday. Shadow is nowhere to be seen, but we'll never forget about him and his heroic."

Vector continued.

"'This is just the latest in a series of amazing rescues that have kept the famously speedy hedgehogs in the news. Since first arriving in Station Square under mysterious circumstances some time ago... Sonic and Y/N have shown a remarkable aptitude for heroism against increasingly dangerous odds. Through his use of supersonic speed, agility, strength, and just plain smarts, Sonic the Hedgehog has become famous the world over for daring deeds and fast-footed feats, along with Y/N the Hedgehog through her use of rocket skate, skateboard, sword and whip fight, power, smarts, and flexibility. Sonic and Y/N have shown that truth, honor, and goodness can and will triumph every time!'"

Vector rips the newspaper in half.

"So Sonic and Y/N are big heroes! What a laugh riot!"

"You're just jealous 'cause you're not famous like Sonic and Y/N are."

"Knock it off, Charmy. We'll be famous soon."

Vector turned to the readers.

"In case you're wonderin', Detective Vector's the name! I'm a private eye kind of guy and the head of my very own detective agency! I may be lean, mean, and green, but behind my cool croc exterior, I'm really just a big ol' softy. Just don't let that get around, you got me? I got a reputation! A detective's gotta be tough, so let's just keep this between you and me, okay?"

"My name's Charmy and I can be--"

Espio appears and pushes Charmy off.

"My name is Espio. I'm the brains of this organization. I also possess some peculiar spy skills. I'm smart. I'm quick on my feet. I also happen to be a ninja."

Charmy pipes in.

"He's also full of himself."

Espio flashes an anger symbol, but calms down and walks off.

"It's better to be full of myself than to be an obnoxious pipsqueak."

"Hey Vector, can I tell 'em about me now?"

"Aw, too bad, Charmy; we're all out of time!"

Charmy appears to the readers.

"No! Aahh!"

In Thorndyke's mansion, Chuck, Ella, Tanaka, Tails, and Cream are watching the news in the living room.

"It appears the moon has been repaired by the notorious Dr. Eggman." News Reporter informed through the TV.

"Is it true it only took him ten minutes?" Tails questioned.

"I have to admit, he's some scientist." Chuck said.

"I don't know. I think it looks kind of funny, don't you?" Cream said.

Amy enters and stands in front of the TV.

"Oh, who cares about some silly old moon? Where's Sonic?"

In the Chaotix office, the sun is just beginning to rise.

"Ahh, today's the day we solve the case." Vector said.

"Oh yeah? What makes you so sure?" Espio asked.

"Espio's right. What makes you think you can solve it today, Vector?" Charmy agreed.

Vector chuckles and turns around, then back to the others. He is now wearing a pair of glasses.

"Elementary, my dear Charmy. It just takes some clever sleuthing. I'm Detective Vector!"

"Sure you're Detective Vector. You're also nuts." Espio rolled his eyes.

"I think he's been reading too many detective stories again..." Charmy sweatdropped.

Vector wags his finger.

"Ahh... That's very interesting."

"Here he goes again..."

"Oh, brother..."

Vector now wears a detective's jacket.

"One more thing."

"How long are you gonna keep this up, anyway?"

Espio leans in Vector's face.

"Alright. The kid we're lookin' for got sent into this world from ours by Chaos Control, just like Sonic and Y/N. And I think the hedgehogs are behind it."

"And you know that for a fact." Espio said, thinking that there's no way Y/N would do that.

"I got my intuition, and that's good enough for me."

"You got a hunch, Vector?" Charmy asked.

"I told you before, Charmy; it's not a hunch, it's intuition! With a capital 'Int!'"

The Chaotix are now outside the mansion. Vector peers through the window through a pair of binoculars and sees Cream interacting with Cheese.

"Uh-huh. Bingo. See what I mean. The ol' intuition never fails."

"I have to hand it to you. It didn't take you long to find those hedgehogs' hideaway." Espio said.

"He had some help. It was listed on this map of stars' homes." Charmy added.

"You mean a star lives here?"

"From what I dug up, Sonic and Y/N have been layin' low with this kid whose mom's a real live big-time movie celeb." Vector said.

"Bah." Espio scoffed.

"Sure, leave it to Sonic and Y/N to mingle with a bunch of mental movie people. So shallow."

"You're jealous?" Charmy teasingly asked Vector.

"You bet. ... Who asked you, Charmy?!"

"Hahaha, I got you that time, didn't I?"

"Never mind that. Let's get back to the job at hand. We got ourselves a damsel in distress to rescue here!"

"Well, at least we know where she is. Now all you have to do is figure out some way to get into that house." Espio suggested.

Charmy is now looking through the binoculars.

"That's right, pal! But it's gonna be kinda tricky. They probably got lots of fancy-shmancy security equipment."

"Here, take a look! A big scary security guard!"

Vector takes the binoculars from Charmy and looks through them. He sees Ella in the window behind Cream.

"Ahh! Check out the beast in the ruffly apron!"

Just then Ella glances in their direction. Vectoe pushes Espio and Charmy down into the bushes.

"What do we do?! Should we run for it?!" Charmy asked in panic.

"Are you crazy? We can't turn back!" Vector said.

"Don't forget: we're here on a mission." Espio reminded Charmy.

Using his invisibility, Espio appears outside the living room window. Charmy waves.

"Atta boy. I should have known with those nifty ninja tricks of his, he could sneak with the best of 'em!" Vector said.

Amy is upset that Sonic has still not returned. The others are resting on the couch.

"Where is he? He told me he'd be back today at noon sharp."

"Must have lost track of time." Tails guessed.

Amy draws her hammer and swings it back and forth.

"Oh yeah? Well, this is the last time he's gonna keep me waiting!"

"Amy..." Chris said, feeling uncomfortable seeing a hammer.

Before Amy's hammer strikes the invisible Espio outside the window, Y/N came inside, making her stop much to his relief.

"Ah! Y/N! You're back!" Tails happily said, seeing her all better.

"Hey, guys. Just went out to get a fresh air."

"You feel good, Y/N?" Cream asked worringly.

"Don't worry, Cream." Y/N walked over to her and patted her head. "I'm fine."

"Y/N! Do you know where Sonic is? Was he with you?" Amy asked in hope.

"No, sorry. I haven't seen him. I'm pretty sure he went out for a run as always." Y/N shook her head.

"Gah!! I'm so gonna get him once he's back!" Amy growled, swinging her hammer once again, but around.

Y/N stopped, feeling as if someone was watching them and looked to the open window. She headed towards it, dodging Amy's swing. Outside the window, Espio panicked that Y/N noticed him as he could feel his face turned pink. Once she's close, their faces are inches apart. Espio couldn't help but stare into her eyes. Her eyes are windows to the soul. Y/N looked around for any sign of someone that might be spying on them.

"Hmm..."

Y/N made a suspicious glare, causing Espio to start sweating in nervousness. He quickly moved to the side by the wall and leaned against it.

"...Meh. I must be seeing things."

Y/N turned away and went back inside. Espio sighed in relief, not knowing how long he had to hold his breath. Suddenly, he heard a yelp and spun his head around to see Y/N flying outside the window and ram into the branches of a tree and falls out of the tree, shocking Vector and Charmy who are hiding behind the bushes next to the tree. Espio looked inside the house to see Amy with a shocked look as well as everyone as he took a guess that she accidentally strike Y/N in the face with a hammer. She must have been so angry, she didn't know Y/N was right next to her.

"Ah!! Sorry, Y/N!!"

Y/N managed to bring thumbs up to Amy to show that she's okay and went unconcious as her eyes spun dizzily.

"You think she's okay?" Tails worringly asked.

"Is she hurt?" Chris asked.

"She gave me thumbs up that she's fine. I'm sure she'll come right back." Amy said with a nervous sweat.

Back to the Chaotix as they checked on Y/N. Espio comes back and becomes visible.

"Is she okay?" Charmy asked.

Espio leans down and taps her cheek, making her groan.

"She's fine. But she sure can swing a mean mallet."

"Poor Y/N..." Vector said, feeling sorry for her.

Espio picks Y/N up and places her against the tree for her to lean on.

"Sly, aren't they?" Vector said.

"What'cha gonna do?" Charmy asked.

"Just you wait, Charmy! We'll give them a fight they'll never forget!"

"Alright!"

"You guys go on ahead. I'll watch over her until she wakes up." Espio said without facing them still looking at Y/N.

"Good idea."

Vector and Charmy are now in the living room.

"What do you weirdos want?" Tails questioned.

"Tails, do you know these two?" Chris asked.

Tails shakes his head.

"I've never seem them before in my life, Chris."

"Quit your stallin', will ya? Now hand over that little bunny or else!" Vector ordered.

"Yeah! Or else!" Charmy nodded.

"Sorry, sir, but where would you take me?" Cream asked.

"Ch-chao!" Cheese said.

"You don't think we'd let them take you!" Ella said.

"Just asking."

"Whaaah! There's the bodyguard monster!"

Vector picks up Charmy and aims his stinger at the group.

"We'll get you! Charmy, get ready!"

"Wha... Uh..."

"Alright, you creeps! You asked for it!" Amy glared, holding her hammer up.

Then the fight begins. Espio and Y/N are shown outside as he sweatdrop watching the cloud fight.

"Take that!"

Just then Sonic enters the room.

"What's going on here?"

Tails pokes his head out of the fight cloud.

"Sonic, help us! We're being attacked!"

But Vector shoves him back.

"Well, looks who's here! If it ain't Sonic the kidnapper!"

"I'm no kidnapper, pal!"

Then the mystery figure appears in the doorway. She is Vanilla the Rabbit, Cream's mother.

"It's... it's you!" Vector said in shock.

"How nice to see you again, Detective." Vanilla smiled.

"Hey look, Cream. Someone's here to see ya." Sonic said with a wink.

Cream turns around and sees who it is.

"I've finally found... my baby!"

Cream is overwhelmed.

"Mo... M... Mo..."

They embrace in a big hug.

"Oh, my baby!" Vanilla cried out.

The others watch the joyful reunion.

"Cream's mother." Chris said to Sonic, realizing who it is.

They glance at each other.

"How can I ever repay you, Detective Vector?" Vanilla asked.

"Aww, no sweat." Vector chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck.

"And thank you, Sonic, for taking such good care of my little girl. I'm so grateful!"

"Uh... Grateful? But..."

"What did Sonic do?" Charmy asked.

"You remember me, Vector. I'm Sonic the kidnapper." Sonic smirked, turning to Vector.

"Hey, my old pal Sonic! Fancy meeting you here! Come on, Charmy. We don't want to be late for our next job, do we?" Vector said nervously.

"What's the big rush, Vector? Stick around, why don'cha?"

"Yeah. We were just getting into the swing of things." Amy said with a mischievous smile.

"Thanks anyway, but time's a-wasting, and I'm busy!"

"I detect a little uneasiness, Detective."

Everyone laughs.

"Oh, where's Y/N? I wanna thank her for taking good care of Cream too." Vanilla asked, looking around.

"Oh... Funny you should ask." Amy nervously chuckled.

"What do you mean?" Sonic raised his eyebrow.

"I may or may not have swung her out of the window with my hammer... hehe..."

"You what?!"

"Don't worry. She's with Espio. He's taking care of her." Vector assured.

"She's with who now?!"

Outside the mansion, Y/N finally woke up with a groan, rubbing her head. She looked up to see Espio staring down at her in concern.

"Espio?"

"Hey, Y/N."

"I'm guessing you came from Chaos Control. It's been a while." she smiled.

"Yep. What a coincidence. You okay? You got knock down pretty good by Amy."

"I'm fine. I don't blame her for that. She gets upset many times."

"More like a lot."

This made both Espio and Y/N chuckle. They turned towards the window to see everyone laughing. Y/N noticed Vanilla is here too.

"Looks like there's a family reunion."

"Yep."

"Let's go inside and greet them." Y/N said, standing up, looking forward to see Vanilla.

"Wait. Are you still okay? She did hit you pretty hard. You even got a bruise on your cheek."

"Nah, I'm fine. It's just a bruise."

"Well, I insist." he said already taking out the ice pack and placed it on her cheek, making her hold it.

"Oh..." she blushed. "Well, thank you, Espio. That's very kind of you."

Espio looked away, blushing too.

"You're welcome, Y/N."

Y/N chuckles and heads back inside the mansion with Espio by her side.

Elsewhere, Eggman is hovering high above the city in his Eggmobile.

"Hey... Sounds like quite the party. Laugh while you can, Sonic and Y/N, you suckers."

He flies away.
