Y/N appears to be on a space station of some sort. She is looking out the window.

"Whoa... We're in space."

She turns around to see Shadow behind her.

"Where are we? Some sort of space station?"

"We call this place Space Colony ARK." Shadow replied.

"Never heard of it."

"It was built fifty years ago by Professor Gerald Robotnik. It's been kept... secret."

Y/N looks out the window again.

"It's beautiful. Even the earth."

She turns back to Shadow.

"I bet a friend of mine would love to see this. I wonder if I'm the only one who's ever gone to space."

"You're not."

"Oh? Then who?"

Shadow appears conflicted, but does not answer. Y/N noticed it and looked back at the window.

"Sorry. You don't have to say it. It's personal, I know."

Shadow looked at her in surprise that she didn't bother asking him again or annoying him. It's like she's respecting him. In his vision, Y/N's reflection in the window changes to an image of Maria.

"Maria..."

Y/N glanced at him as his eyes sadden again. She decided to do some trick and activated her crystal. Her eyes glowed white as she went into Shadow's memory. It shows Shadow, Maria, and Professor Gerald fleeing from several soldiers.

"Stop them! We can't let them get away!" one of the soldier said.

The scene changes to show Shadow in an escape pod as he tried to punch the glass out. Maria runs up to a control panel.

"Listen, Shadow. I want you to promise me... please."

"Maria!" Shadow shouted through the glass.

Soldiers begin banging on the door.

"Whatever happens, remember I'll always be your friend, Shadow. We always talked about going to visit the planet one day. But it looks like you'll have to go there without me. Adios, Shadow the Hedgehog."

She pulls a switch and immediately collapses. The escape pod is jettisoned into space. Y/N's eyes went back to her original eye colors. She started to feel tears spilling out after seeing such tragic death.

"I'm sorry... Shadow..." she whispered, beginning to silently break down.

Shadow said nothing as he knew that she was looking into his memory with her power. He looked back at the window with clear hatred and revenge.

"They'll pay for what they did. Every one of them."

At the Station Square, Danny and Frances are walking Helen down the street.

"What's up with Chris? I called to say hello and left a message for him, but he only reply that he's busy and it's an emergency." Danny said as they stop.

"Not to mention, Hikaru, too. He said he's got a world to save as well as saving Y/N. I wonder what happen to her." Frances said.

Danny nods. Suddenly, Sonic runs past them.

"Hey, was that...?" Helen said.

"Yeah, that was--"

Frances covers Danny's mouth.

"Hey, what are you doing?"

She pointed at the police officer standing dangerously close to them. Danny again nods, and Frances removes her hand.

"Oh, look at that!"

Helen point to the sky to distract the officer from Sonic, who is still visible.

"Isn't the sky pretty?"

"Yeah. It's gonna be a beauty of a sunset." Police Officer said.

The image of a baseball game on a TV is replaced by the image of a laughing Eggman. The X-Tornado flies past the big screen in Station Square. Ella and Chuck are also watching from inside Chuck's lab. Sonic stops outside a house and watches one of the TVs.

"This is an Eggman update. I'm here to bring you an explosive surprise."

"What's he up to now?" Sonic said.

"Look in the sky."

"The sky?"

Sonic looks up and sees nothing but the moon.

Back at the Space Station ARK, Eggman, Rouge, Bocoe, Decoe, and the Eclipse Cannon are now aboard.

"I'm coming to you planet-bound bumpkins live from outer space!" Eggman laughs. "Let me show you the true power of the Eggman Empire!"

"W-What's he gonna do?" Y/N nervously asked, having a bad feeling of what's going to happen.

Shadow grins, making Y/N even more nervous.

"Now, let's have a blast."

Eggman presses a button. Everyone on Earth stares in shock as the Eclipse Cannon is revealed. Eggman snickers as the cannon begins charging. Then it fires a giant laser beam that literally destroys half of the moon.

"With that much power, Eggman can blow up any planet he wants!" Y/N exclaimed in shock.

"Eggman wasn't lying about the Eclipse Cannon. It is the ultimate weapon." Rouge said with a sweatdrop.

Eggman laughs.

"That came from my Eclipse Cannon, and if you don't surrender to the Eggman Empire within twenty-four hours, I'll blow your planet away!"

"I gotta find a way to stop him!"

Sonic looks back up at the damaged moon.

Y/N and Shadow are looking down at earth.

"Today it's finally going to come to an end."

"What?"

Shadow glances at Y/N. There is a moment of silence as they continue to watch the sunrise.

"Shadow, why did you bring me here?"

Shadow does not answer. In his vision, Y/N changes to Maria, and a flashback begins.

Maria approaches Shadow, who is looking down at the earth.

"Are you going to stare out that window all day, Shadow?" she asked.

"I've seen photographs from down on the surface, but I wonder what it's like to be there. What is it like to see the sky above your head? I'd like to visit there and find out." Shadow said.

"Me too."

"Maybe I can find some answers down there. Professor Robotnik said I'm here to do something important, though he never told me what that means. And something tells me that it's connected with that planet..."

The flasback ends.

"Don't you ever smile?"

Shadow looks up to see Rouge.

"Hi, cutie Y/N."

"Hi, Rouge." Y/N blushed, pouting at that nickname Rouge always use just to tease her or so she think.

"Aren't you glad to see me, Shadow?" Rouge asked.

Shadow starts to walk away.

"I love it when you give me the silent treatment."

But Shadow has already walked into another room.

"What's with Mr. Sunshine?"

Y/N shrugs and decides to follow after him. She stops to realize that her bracelet is gone when she wasn't looking. Who took off the bracelet for her? Y/N looked down to see another bracelet on the ground to where Shadow was gone. Did Shadow just release her? If so, then why? She'll ask him later as her mind was already made up. She searched around for any sign of him until she eventually found him alone in the room that used to be a certain someone's room as he sat on the bed.

"Hey, Shadow?"

Shadow looks at her in silent. He wondered how did she find him.

"You doing okay?"

"I'm fine."

"I don't think you should let the earth be destroyed." Y/N said, sitting on the end of the bed.

"Why should I? They will pay for everything they did to her. They will know how much suffer I have been through."

"But not everyone is bad. I saw your memory and I know it's hard to get over with Maria. But she wouldn't want you to hurt everyone."

"Like you know everything." Shadow glare at her.

"Destroying earth will not help bring back Maria. You can't just let that happen. There's so much you're missing."

"I don't care."

Y/N sighed, rubbing her face, knowing it's hard to convince him. She looked at her necklace when the idea brought up.

"There's something I want to show you. I promise you it won't waste your time."

Shadow looked at her, wondering again what she's up to now.

"Why?"

"Do you trust me?"

"What?"

Y/N held her hand out to him.

"Do you trust me?"

Shadow stare at her for a moment until he hesitantly reached his hand towards her and when their hands are clasped together that's when her crystal began to glow and the bright light blinded them. Shadow's eyes was closed the moment the light brightened up. He opened them to find himself in a nice grassy area filled with flowers, trees, a lake, and a bridge. There's also a nice massive tree that had a biggest shade with flowers.

His breath hitched in amazement. He turned to see Y/N who was smiling at the view and started walking towards the bridge with him following her behind.

"Where are we?"

"Somewhere that you have never seen something beautiful. I have traveled here on earth as long as I know. There are so many things that are interesting and breathtaking. Humans call it the mother nature."

Shadow said nothing as he was speechless.

"Let me explain to you about this world. Then maybe you will understand that everything has beauty in it." Y/N turned to him and started singing. (Play music.)

As she sings, she guided him to the bridge as they cross and stopped in the middle where they can see a clear water with lily pads on it. Y/N pointed at the reflection of themselves. Shadow look towards the water over the railing when he saw something that made him almost tear up.

The water started changing and the allusion showed himself and Maria looking happy as they are sitting under nice shady tree. Maria was wearing a cute pink dress with Shadow by her side as he remembered dreaming of visiting the planet Earth one day. The allusion then disappeared as it only showed Shadow and Y/N. Y/N looked at him with a smile and took his hand as they headed towards the tree as she kept on singing.

They sat under it as they take in the scenery. Shadow looked down and plucked out the water lily from the pad. He sniffed it, remembering wanting to learn what it's like on planet Earth and read about the flower one time and learned the symbolism of this flower. Delight and new life. Shadow stared at Y/N for a moment as he started to find her beautiful as the flower. The wind blew their quills as the petals that fell off to the ground started floating and moving around as they fly away to their journey wherever the wind takes them. He then noticed the scenery changed to the night sky with shooting stars. Shadow looked down at what's supposed to be the water they are standing on. There are mountains up ahead as the sunset shine down.

Shadow looked at Y/N as she took his hand again. She brought out her crystal as the white glow surrounded them and they started floating up to the night sky, catching him off-guard. They could already see up close as the galaxy shined down before them. Just then, they saw flying white swans heading their way. They flew passed them and once they're far away from them, Shadow found himself covered in feathers. Y/N giggled at the sight as he shook them away. He glared at her playfully and looked up. He had no idea that everything can be so beautiful and calm.

As she finished her song, everything is turning white as the light blinded them again. They found themselves back in the room Shadow was in as he noticed that he's still holding the water lily. Y/N looked at him, smiling still and started to walk away.

"I'll leave you be and let you think about it. I hope you understand."

With that, she's gone, leaving him to think as he stare at the flower. A small smile begin to spread on his face. His heart beated fast not because of the speed, but something else as he realized he liked her. Shadow sat back down on the bed. Y/N hoped that she changed his mind.

Meanwhile, Tanaka is driving Sonic, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, Chris, and Hikaru across the desert.

"So you found Eggman's base, but did you find out what happened to my sister?" Sonic asked.

"Shadow took her up into space, and I think the bat who stole the Master Emerald was with him too." Knuckles replied, looking mad.

"Really?"

"I'll teach her a lesson."

"There is Eggman's base." Chris spoke.

Tanaka stops the jeep. Soon, they are riding an escalator up to the entrance of Eggman's pyramid base.

"This place could be dangerous, so be careful, Cream and Cheese." Amy told them.

"We will, Amy."

"Chao!"

"Stick with Mr. Tanaka. You too, Chris and Hikaru." Sonic told them.

Chris and Hikaru nodded. What they didn't know behind them was Topaz as she's monitoring their progress. Once they made it to the entrance of Eggman's base, Amy tries to hammer down the doo, but to no avail.

"No luck."

Tanaka notices a keyhole in the door.

"There is a keyhole, which must mean there is a key somewhere."

Everyone turns to Knuckles.

"Hey! Why are you looking at me?"

"Well, you're a treasure hunter. Can't you find it?" Sonic said.

"Ah! No way! A key isn't a treasure!"

Everyone closes in on Knuckles.

"A real treasure should not have any difficulty finding something as simple as a key." Tanaka said.

"How do we know you haven't been pretending to be a treasure hunter all this time?" Amy asked rather accusingly.

"Maybe Knuckles is a treasure, but is just not a very good one." Cream said.

"You search for Chaos Emeralds, right? You might know about this key." Chris said.

"It can't be that hard. I know you can do it, you just have to give it a try." Hikaru said.

"Fine. I'll look."

Knuckles storms away from them and searches for the key.

"This is exactly why I like to work alone! If Y/N was here, she would convince me to do it instead of you guys teasing me. But at least, Hikaru respects me."

He runs into Bokkun.

"I hope you know you're trespassing, Knuckles."

"I don't have any time to play games with you, Bokkun. Scram!"

"If you don't leave on your own, I'm gonna have to make you leave!"

"Oh yeah?!"

Knuckles is about to punch Bokkun, but stops and calmly walks past him instead, remembering Y/N's words about anger is not always the answer.

"No. I have to go find that key. And I will bring Y/N back safely."

"I warned ya!"

Bokkun pulls a remote out of his bag.

"Go clobber him, Egg Golem!"

Suddenly, the ground shakes, and Knuckles comes running back.

"Knuckles found the key already?" Cream questioned.

"'Fraid not." Sonic said.

Knuckles is being chased by the Egg Golem.

"Woah! What is that?!" Chris exclaimed.

"It's one of Eggman's robots!" Hikaru said.

"Looks like Knuckles ran into some trouble - about fifteen tons of it!" Sonic said.

Bokkun is riding the Egg Golem.

"Let's give this a try!"

The Egg Golem attempts to punch Knuckles, but he dodges, and the door is punched down instead.

"I got the door open. Now are you happy?"

"I guess." Sonic shrugged.

"Here's the spin cycle!" Bokkun said.

The Egg Golem spins its arms, knocking Knuckles into the wall.

"I'll stop that thing!"

Sonic leaps onto the Egg Golem and runs against its spinning arms.

"Here's the clap trap!"

The Egg Golem claps its hands on Sonic, then slams him into the Egg Golem's head before throwing him down. Bokkun laughs.

"Nice going! You really hammered those guys!"

But Sonic and Knuckles get back up.

"Have you had enough?"

"Yeah, I think we can finish it off now."

The Egg Golem spins its whole body as Sonic spins toward it.

"Give 'em a headbutt again!" Bokkun ordered.

Knuckkes attacks the Egg Golem's legs. Sonic and Knuckles attack the Egg Golem at the same time, causing it to fall over. Sonic dusts his gloves.

"Well, that was easy."

"Piece of cake." Knuckles agreed.

"Not so fast! Ha!"

The Egg Golem stands back up.

"Give it up, Bokkun!"

"No way! Look what I got!"

The Egg Golem reveals that it is holding Topaz.

"Oh, great. Why is she here?" Knuckles rolled his eyes.

"He's holding her hostage!" Chris gasped.

"That's playing dirty!" Hikaru exclaimed.

"Hahahaha!"

Tanaka threatens Bokkun with karate while Cream takes his remote.

"Hey, no fair! Gimme back my controller!"

"Finders keepers!" Amy giggled.

Cream presses various buttons, which causes the Egg Golem to drop Topaz and chase Bokkun. He is barely able to keep ahead of the Egg Golem's stomping feet.

"Leave me alone!"

The Egg Golem chases Bokkun outside. It attempts to punch him but hits a pillar instead. Bokkun is chased into the distance.

"No! Don't chase me, motor-brain!"

Back inside, Tanaka is holding Topaz bridal-style.

"I hope that brute did not harm you, miss."

"I'm fine."

Outside, Tails locates the pyramid.

"There's the base."

The top of the pyramid opens.

"I'll land inside."

Tails lands inside the pyramid and climbs out of the X-Tornado.

"I did it, Sonic! I adapted the X-Tornado so we can take it into space!"

He frowns when he sees how many people there are.

"Uh... We might have a little problem, though... It only seats four."

"If you're bringing Y/N back, only two of us can ride with you." Amy said.

"Yeah, that's right..."

"Then let's take this space shuttle."

Sonic gestures to a giant rocket nearby.

"I agree with Sonic." Tanaka said.

"Yeah." Knuckles said.

"What about Cream and Cheese? And Chris and Hikaru?" Amy asked.

"Well, I would take care of them." Topaz suggested.

"But I wanna go and save Y/N, too." Chris said.

"So am I." Hikaru nodded.

"There's only four seat." Tanaka said. "Unless one of you can come with, while I stay and watch over your friends."

Chris and Hikaru stare at each other for a moment until Hikaru said it first.

"You should go, Chris."

Chris looked at him, shocked.

"What? But don't you want to go save Y/N as much as I do?"

"I know. But you know Sonic, Y/N, and others more than I do. I'm happy I get to have adventures with you and everyone else. It's your turn to save the world."

Chris then hugged Hikaru.

"I'll bring back Y/N safely."

"Okay." Hikaru hugged back.

"I'll make sure your friends are safe. Be careful, Chris." Tanaka said.

Chris nodded and soon, him, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy are now inside the shuttle.

"10. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. Ignition!"

The shuttle takes off.

"Hang on, sis... Hang on."

The shuttle disappears into space.
