It is a beautiful day at the beach. A few people are playing volleyball. One man is surfing. One woman who is reading a magazine becomes aware of a movement in the water. But no one else seems to notice. The ball lands in the water - right onto the object the woman saw. The woman playing volleyball goes after the ball.

"That's okay; I've got it." the woman said.

Suddenly, the ball is flung up into the air by the mysterious object, which is revealed to be E-23 Missile Wrist, which stands up in the water. Everyone is staring at it. The ball finally lands on the woman's head. She then promptly screams at the sight of Missile Wrist, which fires a tethered missile at the lifeguard tower behind the woman who first saw the shape, causing that woman to flee. The missile also destroys a few cars. Everyone starts to flee. Missile Wrist destroys more property as Dr. Eggman appears in his Eggmobile.

"There's nothing more fun than making waves at the beach. Well, now that we've established a beachhead here, let's set our sights on the city!" Eggman grinned.

Outside the garage by Thorndyke Mansion, everyone is oblivious to the danger. Tails is power-washing the Tornado, and Chuck is with him. Cream and Cheese are enjoying donuts. Chris runs outside towards Tails.

"Hey, Tails!"

"What's wrong?" Tails asked.

"Where's Sonic and Y/N?"

"Sonic left this morning. He was going somewhere to explore... Downtown, I think. As for Y/N, she went out to go for a 'walk' for some fresh air and to explore as well, alone."

"If the police spot them, they'll try to catch them." Chris said full of worry.

"Catch Sonic and Y/N? I don't think so."

"I just hope they're careful..."

"Mmm, that's not his style. Sonic likes danger. As for Y/N, she knows how to be careful. She mostly just roll with it and always blend in."

Chris leans toward Tails.

"We have to bring them back! Right away!"

Elsewhere, Sonic is on a cliff, taking in the sight of the snow-capped mountain in front of him. He smirks, then takes off down the cliff face before leaping down into a deep valley.

As for Y/N, she is kate boarding and jumping onto every roof of the city with her light blue skateboard she bought earlier from the shop that's nearby and the cashier admired her from the TV news and promised to keep it a secret she asked him to. She was glad that the stranger took a liking to her, but hope that he will keep his promise or there will be consequences. But he was kind enough to let her buy the board she liked to pick. Oh, and Chris lets her borrow money just in case she needs it when she goes out.

She took a fun ride as she jumped over the roof again and did a flip with her skateboard and landed onto the next roof. Y/N stopped for a short break as she took a good look at the view along with the sun. Suddenly, the explosion was heard and she looked down to see chaos and she recognized that flying mobile. Eggman. And she could see Missile Wrist stomping on the car as the officers tried to stop it. Y/N quickly took out her rocket and attached them to her skateboard wheels and jumped off the roof and turned it on as the fire burst out.

Y/N zoomed past the building, flying and looked down to see the same blonde boy from the TV who was about to get stomped by the robot. She took out her whip and lassoed it and caught the boy and pulled him away before the robot squashed him. Y/N landed and skated away from the robot, taking the boy with her until they are far away from Missile Wrist.

"You alright?" she turned to him.

"Hey! You're the hedgehog girl from last night!" the boy exclaimed in excitement. "I'm okay. Thanks for saving me."

Y/N nodded and looked back to where the chaos was caused and glared.

"Eggman..."

"Pfft! Eggman? That's the villain? He looks more of a egghead or fat man." he snickered.

"I know." she chuckled. "What's your name?"

"My name is Hikaru! What's yours?"

"Y/N. Y/N the Hedgehog." Y/N replied with a wink. "I gotta go and stop the bad guy. I suggest you stay safe and go home."

Hikaru nodded and thanked her again before running off to find his mom and dad. Y/N ran out of her hiding area and ran after that robot that's wrecking the cars. A man is just heading out the dorrs of a shopping mall when he sees Missile Wrist standing in front of the doors. He shrieks and runs, as do everyone else, when Missile Wrist breaks through the doors and steps inside. It turns its head to see a few other people hide, and two others carry out a third person, injured presumably by being trampled on.

Y/N was catching up when she didn't notice the sewer lid opened by a certain two people as one got out and she accidentally bumped into them, causing them to fall to the ground.

"Oof!!"

"Ow!!"

Y/N rubbed her head in pain and was about to apologize when she froze to see a certain red echidna.

"Knuckles?!" she shouted in shock, blushing at the position they are in.

"Y/N?!" Knuckles shouted back, blushing too.

They quickly got off of each other.

"I-I'm so happy to see you!" Y/N smiled, still blushing.

"Y-Yeah! I-" Knuckles said but was cut off when he saw Amy hugged Y/N from behind.

"Sonic! Oh, I am so happy to see you!" Amy exclaimed, mistaking her for Sonic with the skin color, but her skin is light blue.

"A-Amy! I'm not Sonic! It's me, Y/N!" she exclaimed, flailing her hands.

"Huh?"

Amy let go of her and turned Y/N around for her to face her and soon realized her mistake and chuckled in embarrassment.

"Y/N! I'm sorry! I just miss Sonic and I thought you were him.." she rubbed the back of her head and went back to hugging her, but this time for her.

"I'm happy to see you, Y/N. I have to stay with that Knuckles. He wouldn't stop talking about you all day and he was so worried about you."

Y/N turned to Knuckles with a smile and he looked away with his arms crossed.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm not THAT worried."

"I'm happy that you two are here and okay." Y/N said and shook her head. "We'll talk later. Right now, Eggman and his robot are out there and we have to stop them. They're heading this way!" Y/N said already running off and Knuckles and Amy followed.

They made it just in time to see Tails in his Tornado along with Chris, fighting against the Missile Wrist as he dodges the attack while Eggman watched.

"Tails! Chris!" Y/N exclaimed.

"He's in trouble! We gotta find a way to help him!" Amy exclaimed.

"I've got more important things to do." Knuckles said.

"Fine, who needs you?!"

Amy races off on her own.

"Wait, Amy!/Don't go in there!" Y/N and Knuckles tried to stop her, but she is already gone.

"She's only gonna get herself hurt."

They both run in the direction they saw her go in as Amy is waiting for the elevator in the mall. The door opens and she walks in. But before the doors close she hears voices.

"Amy!"

She turned to see them running towards the elevator.

"Amy! Stop!" Knuckles called.

Amy was about to open the door for Y/N, but the door is already closing.

"Sorry, Y/N. I'm afraid you have to find the other way. Not sorry to you Knuckles." she said and crossed her arms at him as the door closes.

"Great. What will we do now?"

Y/N tapped him on the shoulder and pointed to the Exit sign where there's stairs.

"Great thinking, Y/N." he said and they both ran up the stairs.

"What did you do to make Amy so mad?"

"All I said it was Sonic's fault for getting us in this mess for being too reckless for Eggman to take us into another world."

"Does it involve me? I was there when it happen." Y/N asked, frowning.

"What?! No! It's not your fault. I don't blame you. I know you wouldn't do anything overkill like Sonic always have."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I mean it."

"I'm glad. But it's not always Sonic's fault. He's just doing whatever it takes to stop Eggman from his evil plans. Wouldn't you do the same even if it involves trouble like this?"

Knuckles opened his mouth, but nothing came out when he looked into her eyes. He knows that she's right and that Sonic was just trying to help. He sighed and looked away, making Y/N take that as a sign that he understands and that she's right and smiled.  A minute later, they emerged from the stairwell behind Missile Wrist.

"Alright, we need a strategy." Knuckles suggested.

The elevator door opens and Amy emerges.

"What took ya so long?"

Amy draws her Piko Piko Hammer, startling Knuckles and Y/N.

"Hiyaaah! Leave Tails alone, you tech bully!"

"Don't Amy!" he shouted.

"Wait, Amy! Stop!" Y/N shouted, reaching out to her.

"Take that!"

She swings her hammer into the left leg of Missile Wrist with minimal effect. A pain had sprung into Amy's hand from the force of the swing. She shakes it to lessen the pain. Suddenly, Missile Wrist turns around and grabs her. She cries out. Y/N leapt into the fray and took out her whip and lassoed towards Amy and caught her. She then took out her katana with a smoke as it spreads towards the robot, blinding it and causes it to loose the grip on Amy. Y/N pulled her towards her and carried her to safety next to Knuckles.

"Thanks, Y/N." Amy said.

Y/N nodded and ran at Missile Wrist as it swatted out the smoke a little too late to see her. She leapt again and did a front flip, and kicked it straight into the chest. Missile Wrist was pushed back almost towards the edge of the building, surprising Knuckles, Amy, and Eggman. She sticks the landing without breaking a sweat.

"What a woman.." Knuckles awed.

Amy smirked to hear that and nudged his shoulder.

"Y/N! You again!" Eggman growled.

"Miss me?" she smirked.

"Not really! But since you're here, that means Sonic is here. Where is he? Perhaps this is all a trap!" he said, looking around.

"What if Sonic doesn't make it?" Tails worriedly asked, looking around as well.

Chris then catches sight of the blue hedgehog approaching the building.

"It's okay! Help is on the way!"

"Huh?" Eggman asked.

"Get him, Sonic! Haha!"

Sonic blows right by a few pedestrians. The Tornado flies at street level, and, as Sonic and the Tornado pass each other, Chris hands Sonic a Power Ring.

"Thanks!"

Eggman looked down to see him.

"There he is. Get ready to fire."

 Sonic begins to glow with Power Ring energy.

"Heheheh!"

He turns into a ball and spins up the skyscraper.

"Hurry! Fire!"

Missile Wrist fires five rockets at Sonic, which explode at his location.

"Finally..."

Sonic rolls out of the smoke, completely unfazed by the attack. He spins past and above a surprised Eggman and Missile Wrist.

"Fire away!"

Missile Wrist tries to fire its tethered missile hands at Sonic, but he danced from hand to hand, even making faces, and slapped his bottom at Eggman, making Y/N giggle.

"Wise guy! I'll show you!"

"Sonic! Try the old "slap on the wrist"!" Knuckles told him with a smile.

"Yeah! Do it!" Y/N jumped in excitement.

"Yeah!"

Sonic rides the next missile hand back to its owner. He makes a face, which prompts Missile Wrist to smash Sonic with its other hand. Sonic leaps into the air and the robot's hand was gone and called out to Y/N.

"Now, sis!"

Y/N leapt into the air and destroyed the last hand of the robot by slicing it with her katana. She landed back to her friends.

"Bye!" Sonic smirked.

"Fire!" Eggman ordered.

Missile Wrist fires six rockets at Sonic, which explode in his area.

"Hah-haaaah!"

But Sonic spins down out of the smoke.

"Heheheh!"

He spins right through the heart of Missile Wrist, causing it to crackle. Eggman stares in shock before Missile Wrist finally explodes, raining debris everywhere.

"All right, Sonic!" cheered Chris.

Sonic stands face to face with a soot-covered Eggman, still in his Eggmobile.

"You lose."

Y/N made a raspberry noise, sticking her tongue at Eggman, making a word 'L' with her fingers for loser.

"This isn't over, blue brats. You haven't heard the last of Eggman! Soon I will rule this world, this universe, and the Chaos Emeralds will be mine!" he laughed as he flies away.

"Oh Sonic, Sonic!"

Sonic turns to the source of the voice. It's a teary-eyed Amy, who hugs him.

"You're okay!"

"Take it easy!"

"For a while there, Sonic, I thought I'd never see you again!"

"Amy, please let me go!" Sonic looked at Y/N, mouthing for help, but she just giggle and stood there while Knuckles just stare.

Suddenly, several armed soldiers appear from the building and aim weapons at them.

"All right, nobody move." Soldier ordered.

"Oh great. Now what?" Knuckles scoffed.

"Don't try running away."

Knuckles clenches his teeth and fists.

"Knuckles never runs from a fight!"

"Hey. Easy, pal."

Knuckles surely looks like he wants to fight, but Y/N softly grabbed his arm.

"Knuckles, don't. It will only make things worse."

"Sonic! Y/N!" Tails voice called.

They looked up to see Tornado fly towards them and Tails drops a rope ladder for them to climb on. Sonic picks up Amy and grabs the rope ladder.

"Hey, Knuckles, Y/N! Come on!" Sonic said.

Knuckles appears to be conflicted.

"Please, Knuckles. Come with us." Y/N pleaded, not letting go of his arm.

Knuckles stare into her (F/C) eyes before he finally made up his mind and grabbed her hand and they run for the rope ladder. The soldiers, however, have other plans.

"Get them!"

Dodging the bullets, they ran for the edge of the roof and Knuckles threw her to the rope ladder and she grabbed the lower rope. Knuckles made a flying grab for the rope ladder, grasping the bottom rung. He thought he caught it, but it slipped from his gloves and begins to fall. Y/N quicly slid down to the bottom rung and grabbed his hand, saving him from the fall. The Tornado then begins to fly home.

"We'll go back to my house, guys!" Chris said.

"Cream and Cheese are already there waiting for us." Tails added with a smile.

"Wow, them too? So we're all here together!" Amy exclaimed in happiness.

"Count me out. This is where I get off." Knuckles said.

"What? Where will you go? They'll find you." Y/N said with worry.

"Don't worry about me, Y/N. No one can find me." he assured her and let go of her hand, catching her off-guard.

"Knuckles!" she shouted.

"No! Don't go!" Amy shouted.

Knuckles glides toward a pond.

"See you around."

"He's not coming with us? Why not?"

"That's Knuckles. He does things his way." Sonic said.

Y/N looked at where Knuckles had landed and sighed. Knuckes gave her a thumb up that everything will be okay. She nodded and gave him back the thumb up, smiling at him. And so the Tornado flies off into the sunset.
