A lioness grooms her cub; a giraffe eats leaves from a tree; a hippopotamus is in the water, and the X-Tornado flies over it all.

"This place is amazing! All the wildlife here really is wild. Let's land to take a closer look." Tails exclaimed.

Sonic, who is standing on top of the X-Tornado, nods. Y/N is in the X-Tornado with Tails and Chris. Suddenly, Chris points ahead.

"Tails! Check the radar! Mayday!!"

They look and see that the Egg Fort is hot on their tail. The Egg Fort fires several missiles at the X-Tornado, which it dodges. Sonic stretches his legs.

"Time for some fun."

"What are you gonna do Sonic?" Chris asked.

"Ha! You'll see!" Sonic smirked.

"Be careful!" Y/N warned.

Sonic reveals that he has a Power Ring, then activates it and leaps toward the Egg Fort, executing a home attack. He begins damaging the ship and later the Egg Fort is going down.

"Alright!" Chris cheered.

The X-Tornado flies next to the Egg Fort. Suddenly, an explosion causes rocks on the X-Tornado.

"Uh-oh!"

"This is not good!"

Shrapnel is sent into the X-Tornado, breaking off one of its wings.

"The wing!"

"Look out!"

"Hang on!"

The X-Tornado plummets to the ground.

Tails and Y/N are working on repairing the X-Tornado as he instructed her on how to do it. Chris appears bored. Tails slides the dolly out from underneath the X-Tornado.

"We fixed it." Tails said.

"But Tails, the wing is still broken."

"We know. But instead of flying..."

Tails climbs inside the X-Tornado.

"...you can walk."

Tails starts up the X-Tornado and converts it to X-Cyclone mode.

"I forgot the X-Tornado can walk." Chris said.

Unfortunately, one of the legs falls off, damaging the X-Tornado further.

"Still needs work."

Later, Tails and Y/N are once again repairing the X-Tornado as she handed him tools.

"Can I do something to help?" Chris asked.

"No thanks. We can handle this."

"Oh..."

"Don't feel sad. There will be plenty of things you can help out." Y/N assured.

"Ok."

Chris looks around.

"It sure is quiet around here."

He opens his I-phone, but, to his dismay, there is no signal.

"I don't even have any phone service here."

He heads over to a nearby tree and flops onto the grass. He tries to get some sleep, but the sun is too bright. He yawns anyway.

"You can take a nap if you want, Chris. It's gonna take some time to do these repairs." Tails said.

Chris sits up.

"Okay."

"I'll wake you when we're done." Y/N said.

"Oh, thanks. You know, guys, there's something about this place that's really different from home."

"Really?"

"How so?"

"Yeah. Time seems to move slower here than in the city. Don't you feel it's different?"

"No. This place feels familiar in a certain way. It's like being back home." Tails said.

"You two must really miss it here." Chris said.

"I missed it really bad at first, but now I also like Station Square. Someday I want to start an engineering company there and build lots of machines."

"That's cool. When it comes to building machines, you're the best there is, Tails."

"He's always the best. He's smart after all." Y/N smiled.

"Thanks. So what do you think you wanna do when you're older?" Tails said, blushing a little.

"Well, I... I really want to study zoology... I think. Grandpa and my dad want me to really like building machines, just like they do. But since I met you guys, I figured I'm more interested in animals than machines."

He reconsiders what he just said.

"Uh... I-I don't mean you guys are just animals, you know!"

"None taken, Chris." Y/N chuckled.

"Great, we're done! And this time, I'm sure it really is fixed, Chris. Let's go and look for Sonic."

Chris stands up and nods.

"Right."

Soon the X-Cyclone sets off through the savannah.

Jackhammers are breaking through the ground, and steam shovels are removing the rocks, as a massive project is underway. From the X-Cyclone outside the fenced area, Chris, Y/N, and Tails watch.

"I wonder what they're building here?" Tails said.

"They're tearing down everything." Y/N said.

"Isn't this a nature preserve?" Chris asked.

Two bosses are heading the project.

"Get this moving down there!" Worker ordered.

"Hurry! We have deadline to meet with!" Boris said.

"Boris, we need to get this done quick and get out of here." Sergei said.

Chris, Y/N, and Tails approach.

"Uh, sir? Could you tell us what you're building?"

"Eh? How did you get here? This a restricted area. It's dangerous. Can't you see we are building a dam?"

"A dam?!"

"What's a dam?" Tails and Y/N asked.

"It's something you build when you want to hold back the water from a river or a lake." Chris explained.

"But Chris, I..."

Tails looks around.

"I don't see any water around here."

"There's no way they build a dam here. Unless... it's something else and I don't like it one bit." Y/N said full of suspicion.

"Yeah. How come you're building a dam here, sir?"

Tails and Y/N noticed various animals watching them.

"You are being like that elephant over there - too nosy. It is none of your business what we are doing." Sergei rudely said.

"But have you guys thought about what will happen to the wildlife around here once you're done building this thing?" Tails questioned.

"Who cares about wildlife? Ivan, come here and introduce yourselves to these pests."

The third man, who is muscular, laughs.

"Now go get lost or I'll send Ivan here to find you."

But as Ivan laughs, the sword was shown and it's pointing at his face as his face went pale. They look to see Y/N with a sword in hand with a glare.

"If you dare threaten me and my friends, I'll make sure to cut out your arm."

The three men backed away in fear.

"T-This is a w-warning you p-pests. Let's go."

Y/N, Tails, and Chris watch the three men leave. Later, Tails is speaking to the animals.

"Listen up, you losers! You're just a bunch of wimps! You deserve to lose your home! Why can't you be more like Y/N?"

The animals hang their heads.

"Tails..." Y/N started.

"You okay?" Chris asked with worry.

Tails hangs his head as well.

"...Sorry... It's just... Back in the world I came from..."

Y/N knew what he was talking about as she remembered the first time her and her brother met him.

~FLASHBACK~

Y/N was out there finding some fruits when she heard pleads. She turned and went through the bushes to see Tails being bullied. One bully is holding Tails back, while two others are looking at an invention Tails had made.

"No! No, please don't! Leave it alone, you guys!"

One of the bullies raises a large stick.

"Aah! No! Keep away!"

Before the bully break the invention, she rushed in and grabbed the bully by the arm. The bully flinched to see a scary glare as she said in low tone.

"I suggest you do what the fox say or I'll break your arm."

"Ha! I like to see you try, little girl!"

Oh, do not call her little and she hated that. Y/N didn't hesitate to squeeze his arm so tight, you could hear some crack. The bully tried to pull his arm away, but she was too strong. She eventually pulled away from the bully as he held his arm in pain. The bully and the others ran off in fear after letting go of Tails.

"You okay?" she asked as she turned.

Tails is sadly carrying the broken invention as he whimpered. The bully must have accidentally moved the invention and stepped on it while running away. Y/N lean down to his level and pat his head.

"I'm sorry about your invention. You must have worked hard on that."

Tails nodded and looked up. When he got a good look at her, he could feel his cheeks hot like he had never seen someone so beautiful.

"T-Thank you for saving me."

"No problem. My name is Y/N. What's yours?"

"I'm..."

Then, Tails catches sight of Sonic (whom he does not know yet) stop nearby, look around. Y/N turned and saw her brother not too long before he take off again.

"Whoa, that guy's cool! I wonder where he's going?"

"Oh! That's my brother."

"That guy's your brother? Awesome!"

"Come. I'll show you where we are."

Y/N took his hand and lead him to the beach where he discovered the red airplane parked here.

"Wow! What's this?" he said, climbing inside the cockpit.

"That's the Tornado."

"Wow, this plane looks pretty fast! But I bet I can make it even faster."

"Really? You can?"

"Yeah! I'm an inventor!"

"That's cool!"

"Really?"

"When I first saw your invention that those jerks broke, I saw how creative you are and it looks cool while it lasted."

Tails blushed bashfully.

"Aw... Thanks."

"Mind if I help?"

"Sure!"

Soon, Tails and Y/N are tweaking the Tornado and even repainting it. Sonic soon came.

"Hey, sis. What are you doing?"

Y/N climbed down.

"Hey, bro. Just thought of making this thing fast with the help of my friend."

Tails turns around.

"Sorry, but when I see a machine, I can't help myself. I hope you don't mind I changed the engine to make it faster. Y/N thought of helping me out."

"Hm. I like what you did with the color, too." Sonic said.

"Of course you would like it. Blue is your favorite color." Y/N chuckled along with Tails.

"Come and see what else we did."

"So... Y/N. You saved him from the bullies and you showed him around all morning just to check out my airplane? Or is there something else he want?" Sonic said, turning to Tails.

"Well, you see, I like to build and repair stuff. So they all make fun of me. You both looked cool, and when I found your plane, I figured I could fix it up and we could all be friends! ...If you want to."

"Well, what's your name, pal?" Sonic asked.

"I was gonna ask him that again." Y/N said.

"Sorry, where are my manners? Miles Prower, uhh, but my friends call me Tails."

"Cute name." she smiled.

"C-Cute??"

"My name's Sonic. Nice job, Tails. I could use a mechanic and a friend." Sonic said.

"You mean that?"

"You bet!" Sonic winks with thumbs up.

"I could use a friend, too, Tails."

"Everybody picked on me. ... If somebody doesn't stop these bullies, they'll wreck this place, and I won't let that happen!"

Tails turns back to the construction site and walks back in.

"You two take your bulldozers and get out!"

"This little furball is really starting to get on my nerves." Sergei scoffed as Boris growls.

"If you don't stop, those animals will lose their home! You'd better close this construction site or I'll close it myself!"

A construction truck approaches Tails. Y/N quickly grabbed him and had him go behind her.

"Uh-oh." Chris said.

"Next time you bother with us, we dig hole and drop you in." Boris said and returns to his work.

"Those guys like to play dirty, huh?" Y/N said with a scoff.

"You know, we're gonna need some help to stop this dam from getting built."

"But who?"

They turned to see the animals approaching.

"Okay!" Tails said with a smile.

"Great plan, Chris!" Y/N gave him thumbs up.

At the nearby town, Tails, Y/N, and Chris are sitting on the back of an elephant, speaking to the people of the town.

"Listen up, everybody! We have to work together!"

"We have to fight to protect the nature preserve and stop that dam!"

"Are you with us?!"

The citizens began to shout in agreement.

"We must do something!"

"Quickly!"

Back to the 'dam', there are now hundreds of protestors outside the contruction site as the construction workers tried to block them.

"But we built this dam to generate power for your homes to run blenders and other electric devices." Sergei nervously said with a sweatdrop.

But no one was listening to him as they kept on protesting.

"Huh. Okay. Heheh..."

The bosses notice Chris, Y/N, Tails, and the animals outside the boundsries of the construction site as well.

"So those three brought this mob here!"

"This is restricted area. You must all leave here at once." Boris warned.

But the protesters are having none of it.

"Okay!"

Chris, Y/N, and Tails celebrate with a victory hug.

"What you did out there was really brave, Tails."

"You think so?"

"Of course. I'm glad you're standing up to yourself. And I don't regret saving you from the bullies and having you as my friend."

Y/N then kissed him on the cheek again, making him freeze again with his tail up and his face all pink, and then faint.

"Now that everything's okay here, Chris, Y/N, and I are gonna go back home." Tails said to the animals.

"We're really glad that your preserve is safe again!" Chris said.

"Have a good life and be safe!" Y/N said.

"Let's go look for Sonic now."

Chris and Y/N nods. However, Sonic is already running their way.

"Sonic!"

"Hey!"

"Bro!"

Sonic stops right in front of them.

"What have you guys been up to today?"

"We stopped these guys from building a huge dam and saved a nature preserve!"

Eggman and Gorru-Gaooh are bearing down on them.

"There's Sonic! Hurry!" Eggman ordered.

"Oh no! What do we do now?" Chris gasped.

"I'll stop him!" Y/N said about to attack when Sonic stopped her.

"Don't worry, sis. I can take care of this."

Sonic runs into the construction zone, with the robot behind him.

"Get him now!"

Sonic stops, and Gorru-Gaooh leaps over Sonic. Its crotch is now the only part visible, as it is directly in front of a bulldozer.

"I think I've just spotted its weak spot."

He home attacks the ape, sending it on its back.

"Oh no! E-65 camouflages itself when you see it next to plants and rocks, but not when it's up against metal! I must get rid of anything metal!"

In Eggman's fury, he fires several missiles at the bulldozers, destroying them. He also fires the Eggmobile's laser at them.

"Soon E-65 will be able to turn invisible again!"

The bosses arrive to Eggman wildly destroying their vehicles.

"There won't be a scrap of metal left here!" Eggman said.

"We got no dam, no equipment, no nothing!" Sergei whined.

Sonic executes spin after spin on E-65's chest, which, of course, rocks Bocoe and Decoe around.

"Sonic is whomping us big time!"

"We'd better get out of here quick!"

Gorru-Gaooh finally is forced to sit due to Sonic's presistence. Bocoe and Decoe disembark from the robot and flee.

"This gorilla is a goner!"

Tails throws a Power RIng to Sonic.

"Sonic!"

Sonic catches the ring and absords its power.

"Let's end this now!"

He leaps into the air and flies towards Gorru-Gaooh.

"Bye-bye!"

Executing a home attack, he spins through Gorru-Gaooh, causing it to short and explode. Eggman cries out. Y/N, Tails, and Chris cheer.

"Go, Sonic!"

Sonic lands on the ground as Eggman steps out of the Eggmobile.

"Okay, Sonic! Now it's just you and me!"

"I wouldn't be so sure. Sis?"

Y/N walk right next to Sonic, cracking her knuckles.

"With pleasure."

"Ready when you are, Eggman!"

"Ready."

"Me too."

"Me three."

Seconds later, the Eggmobile is smashed and sliced to bits, and Bocoe and Decoe are escorting Eggman away. Sonic, Y/N, Tails, and Chris look up to see a laughing Bokkun flying toward them. He lands in front of them.

"I have a message for you. Here."

He pulls out his television.

"It's from Dr. Eggman, of course."

Eggman's face is shown on the screen.

"You think you've defeated me, but I'm still in command here."

Sonic and Y/N looks unimpressed.

"And to prove it, I'm going to, uh, have Bokkun here perform a little tap dance!

Bokkun sweatdrops, slowly puts the television away, and tap dances for a while. He finally stops.

"How embarrassing!"

Crying, Bokkun flies away. Chris and Tails blink in surprise.

Soon, it is sunset, and Sonic and Y/N watch as the bosses are handcuffed and led to a police car. Sonic and Y/N give a wink and thumbs-up toward the readers.

"You stopped those creeps." Sonic said as Y/N, Tails, and Chris nods.

"But Eggman helped. If he hadn't made us crash, we never would've been here to save the animals." Chris said.

"You're right." Tails nodded.

"I'll thank him for doing that. For now." Y/N said.

They share a laugh as the police car drives away. A cheetah crosses the road and looks at the readers. Sonic, Y/N, Tails, and Chris watch and enjoy the sunset.
