At the White House, Jerome Wise is standing before the President, holding two newspapers.

"This is great news, Mr. President, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Now you're sure to be re-elected!"

"I don't know about that..."

Jerome looks surprised.

"I'm not the real hero of this story. Look closer."

Jerome sees an image of Sonic and Y/N on one of the newspapers.

"Huh?"

He looks at the other images of them on the newspapers and another and another until he had enough.

"Soniiiiic! Y/NNNNNN!"

He scattered the newspapers to the ground and grabbed the remote and switches on the TV. Reports on Sonic and Y/N are being given.

"AAAAAARGH! If we don't act fast, they'll elect Sonic or Y/N President!"

President face-palms.

"I'll have to find myself a real job."

Jerome storms up to the President's desk.

"We've got to do something right away!!"

"Now now, let's not overreact about this. Just stay calm."

Jerome paces the floor.

"Think, think... There must be something we can do..."

He stops pacing, his expression brightened. He pounds his fist into his palm.

"Ah, that's it! I know! ... It's a brilliant idea! We'll host a black tie charity ball in celebration of our recent victory!"

"Yes, but what does a victory celebration do to solve our Sonic and Y/N problem?"

"We're going to make Sonic and Y/N the guests of honor! We'll invite the media, get in a couple of photo-ops, that kind of thing. It'll be in all the papers, all over the cable news talk shows. The President, Sonic, and Y/N - dynamic trio battling together against the forces of oppression. Once the voters see that you, Sonic, and Y/N are buddies, your approval rating will go through the roof! There's no way you can lose. Your re-election will be a sure thing! I'll have the staff get started. We'll make sure all the television reporters get personal invitations to the free buffet tent."

He leaves the room. The President slumps over the desk and sighed.

Y/N is in the garage with Tails as she told him everything what happened from the crystal that suddenly teleported her to the unknown place and the power.

"It seems that the crystal had chosen you for a reason. I don't know much about this in my homeworld, sorry. I wish I know more about this, but I suggest you learn to control it if you're going to use it wisely." he said, examining the crystal as he made a small hole and made a black thread go through and made it into a necklace and handed it to her.

"Thanks, Tails. This will help keep the crystal safe around me." she said and placed it around her neck and hid it under her shirt.

"Also, it's okay. I'll figure it out and your predictions are helpful enough."

Tails smiled with a tinted blush on his cheeks as his tails wagged.

"Can you help me fix the X-Tornado?"

"Sure."

Tails went under the nose of the X-Tornado as he asked her some tools to give him. As soon as they are finished, Tails was trying to place the toolbox back on the top shelf using the chair, but when he managed to place it, the balance on the chair fell, causing him to fall. But he didn't feel the impact and was caught in someone's arms. He looked up and blushed to see a chuckling Y/N.

"Looks like you're the damsel in distress now and I'm the knight in shining armor."

Tails pouted. Y/N placed him down and patted his head.

"I gotta go and explore. Tell Sonic I went out if he ask."

"Right. See ya, Y/N."

Y/N then activate her rocket skates and zoomed off. What she didn't know is that Sonic also went off, but on the opposite direction and Chris tried to stop him that they received the letter from the President.

Y/N stopped her skating and found herself like she's already in Mobius. There stood a beautiful forest with a nice lake where you can see some grassy places underneath the lake.

"I gotta paint this one." she said, taking out the camera that Chris had given her.

Since Chris saw that she's into art, he showed her some photography that could help her with her art skills and taught her how to angle the camera. She's going to thank him for that and show the picture to him and her friends. Y/N looked at the forest again and decided to visit here tomorrow for more sightseeing and more picture taking.

Back in the mansion, Chris, Tails, Amy, Cream, and Cheese are gathered around Chuck, who is reading the letter.

"'You are cordially invited to a black-tie charity ball.' Hm, sounds interesting."

"It's addressed to Sonic and Y/N, but it says right here that they can bring as many friends as they want!" Chris added.

"Well... Then in that case, I say we dust off our best party duds and make it a date!"

Everyone else cheers.

"I'll bet they'll serve lots of yummy food there. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!" Amy said as her mouth waters, imaging the food that the party might have.

"Me too!" Tails said.

Just then Sonic and Y/N entered the room.

"We're back!"

"Hey, Sonic, Y/N!"

Chris runs over to them.

"Guess what? You won't believe it. The President's giving a party, and you two are invited!"

"We are?" Sonic asked.

"Wow." Y/N said. "That's nice of him."

"Mm-hm. And all of us get to go, too! It'll be fun!"

"When is this party?" Sonic asked.

"On Thursday."

"Can't make it."

"Aah! Why can't ya?"

"I promised Helen we'd hang out."

"Helen? You mean the girl in my class?"

"Yeah, that's the one. She's a friend of mine."

"I didn't know that."

"I met her over at the lake. I promised. Oh, I got a lot of work to do."

He races over to Chuck, who is reading the invitation.

"Hey Chuck, I need some life jackets and a boat."

"Check over in the storage room."

He dashes out of the room, causing the door to slam shut. Chris blinks in surprise and turn to Y/N who's smiling that Sonic is being so kind to others and never break a promise.

"Y/N? Are you coming too?"

"I would, but I already have plans for tomorrow and I'm going to explore for a while. But I'll be there before sundown or early if I have time."

Chris frowns and nodded.

"Okay.."

Y/N pats his arm.

"Don't worry. You guys can still go. I don't see what's stopping you from going to that party. I promise you that Sonic and I will be there before you know it."

Chris smiles.

"You're right. Okay. Thanks, Y/N."

"No problem. Oh, and if they ask where we are, show them this." she said, showing her recorder. "I recently asked Cream to um, record my songs that I sing. It helps me sing when I feel like it and I hope that this will cheer them up and tell them that we will be there soon before they know it."

Chris grabbed it and looked at the recorder and listened to it for a bit and found himself lost in the music.

"Wow. It's beautiful. I'll use it for emergency if they feel disappointed or bored."

Y/N nodded.

"I gotta go and pack some stuff for my trip." she said and headed towards her room.

Thursday came in a flash. At the White House, the party is in full swing. Fireworks burst in the air, and the guests are enjoying the food. There is a look of glee in Jerome's eyes.

"Okay! Now if everything goes according to plan, Sonic and Y/N should be arriving any minute! Then we'll have them meet the big guy and watch them go crazy!"

"They're here!" the reporter said.

"Ah! It's time!"

He hears the limo arrive, and rushes outside. The reporters are taking pictures and videos. They are astonishes as Amy, then everyone else, step out of the limo. Jerome pushes his way past the reporters and makes his way to Chuck.

"Here's our guests of honor-"

But he receives blank stares. Sonic and Y/N are not among them.

"Where's Sonic and Y/N?"

"They're not coming." Chuck casually said.

Jerome lets out a cry of frustration

"Whaaaaa?!"

"To the party!"

While Jerome is distracted, Chuck runs past him, followed by the others. The reporters begin to leave.

"Yeah, well if Sonic and Y/N are not showin' up to this clambake, I'm gettin' outta here."

"The station better pay my parking."

Jerome panics and cuts them off.

"Please don't go yet! Sonic and Y/N will be here any minute, I promise! Why don't you hang out at the buffet table awhile? Please?"

He turns to three government agents standing nearby.

"Hey! Don't stand there! Go find Sonic and Y/N and bring them over here pronto!"

"Yes sir!"

Y/N is back in the forest to where she come from with some stuff she need from her backpack. She stopped by the lake that had some grassy place in it and kangaroo jumped over the lake and landed.

She looked through the trees as she listened to the sound of nature and inhaled. As she walk, she saw something small and squinted her eyes to see a baby deer. She found the poor animal stuck in a large branch full of pointy things. So she slowly walk over to the baby deer, making it flinch.

"It's okay. I mean no harm. I'm here to help you out."

The baby deer looked at her wearily for a minute and stayed still with a slow nod, showing that it trust her. Y/N took out her sword and started cutting out the small pointy branches attached to the large one. Once she's sure there are no pointy branches, she picked the baby deer up carefully and carried it to the ground. She looked at it to see it had cuts on its face and legs, making her frown.

She went through her backpack and took out a first aid box. Y/N cleaned out the blood before putting some bandage on the face and wrapped the white bandage around each legs.

"There. Good as new. You're all better now."

The baby looked at the bandage and started to walk freely, happy to be back on its feet. Y/N and the baby deer heard footsteps to see a big deer with large antlers, giving an intimidation aura. The baby deer ran over to the male deer as she guessed it's a dad. The dad looked at Y/N then to the baby, seeing that she rescued it. He walked over to her and she stood still as they had a staring contest. He then nudged its nose on the head, showing appreciation and thanks for saving his kid. She nodded with a smile and the dad and the baby went away. But before they were gone, the baby deer ran over to her and gave her a lick on the cheek before running back.

Y/N quickly took out her camera and took a pic of the baby deer and the dad together until they're gone as they ran off.

"That's a keeper."

Just then, she heard a loud roar and ran to see a hole. Looking inside, she can see a waterfall. She wondered what's inside that hole when she heard footsteps and she took off her backpack and placed it down. Y/N turned and grabbed their arm, flipped them over, and slammed them down to the ground, earning a grunt.

"Knuckles?!" she exclaimed after looking down to see a red echidna.

"Y-Yeah, it's me..! Who else would it be..?"

Y/N quickly let go of him.

"I am so sorry. I really thought you are Eggman."

Knuckles groaned and got up, rubbing his head.

"It's fine. I also thought you are Eggman. What are you doing here?"

"Going around exploring. Any sign of Chaos Emerald?"

"No, not yet." he said and looked down at the hole where the waterfall is. "What's down there?"

"I don't know. But I say we jump in since there's water in here." she said, taking off her boots and socks.

"Jump down there? Don't you think it's dangerous?"

"Danger? Ha! I laugh in the face of danger. Hahaha!" she laughed and dived down.

Knuckles sighed with a smile and took off his shoes and socks and jumped along with her. A big splash was heard from the hole. They dived down and resurfaced and boy, their jaws dropped. There they can see is a cave that look like a large maze.

"Holy cow..." he gasped.

"Yeah. Let's go check it out. It will be fun to explore here." she said and started swimming.

Back at the White House, the guests are getting bored. As for Sonic, well, let's just say he's being chased by the military along with Helen, but he's fine and is spending a good time with Helen. Chris stare at the recorder for a moment and then stood up and walked over to Jerome as he tried reassure them and tapped his shoulder.

"Huh?"

"I have a song from Y/N. Since she felt bad for not coming, but she promised that she'll come along with Sonic. So she thought of bringing out a song to cheer them up and to keep them busy."

Jerome looked at the recorder and his face brighten up.

"You're absolutely right! This is perfect to keep them occupied! I'll play this song right now!"

He ran off and put the song on and connect it to the speaker.

"Everyone! While, we wait for them. I have a song come from Y/N that will cheer you guys up and to keep you guys from being bored. You can dance along with the song."

Now this got their attention and Jerome quickly press play.

As the song play, everyone started to dance, liking this song much to Jerome's joy and relief. Chris, Chuck, Tails, Amy, Cream, and Cheese danced along. Cream knew what this song meant and that not all heroes come for fame, but to fight for what's right.

Jerome called if they caught them yet while dancing along as well as President.

Y/N and Knuckles are sitting on the rocks from all the swimming as they took a break and admire the cave.

"I gotta say, this is an amazing place I have ever seen on earth." he said.

"I know. Wish we could stay here more often."

Knuckles wanted to say that he likes to stay here too, but he can't because he wants to go home and protect the Master Emerald after they collect all seven Chaos Emeralds. Although, he wanted to ask if Y/N can hang out with him while keeping an eye on the Master Emerald when they go home. Y/N look at the reflection as she had thoughts. He stare at her hand and decided to make a move and scooted over to her. Y/N snapped out of her thoughts when she felt a hand against hers and turned to see a blushing Knuckles as he was looking at the waterfall instead of facing her. This made her smile and enjoyed this moment while it last. Suddenly, they heard a loud helicopter, interrupting their peace and quiet moment and looked up to see a big shadow figure zoom past the hole. Y/N stood up and looked up at the light to see it slightly going down, meaning the sun is setting down.

"The party. The White House. Someone must have send them to find me and Sonic. How despicable.."

"Huh.."

Y/N turned to Knuckles.

"Wanna come to the party with me? For the celebration of defeating Eggman. Even though it's not over yet."

"Why should I go?"

"It's only for one night. I want you to have fun. What do you say? I know you have nothing else to do."

Knuckles then sighed and stood up.

"Alright. One party and that's all."

"Great. Let's head back up and meet my friends before dark."

Everyone kept on dancing and the song is ending soon and Y/N and Sonic are not here yet as Jerome is on the phone.

"What's that? He did? What?! The chopper?! What about Y/N?!... What do you mean you can't find her?!"

There is a knock on the door and the song ended and everyone stopped and turned.

"What now?"

There, at the door, are Sonic and Helen. Even Sonic's friends are excited to see him as well as everyone else.

"It's Sonic! He came after all!"

Sonic looked around.

"Hey, where's Y/N?"

Jerome gasped.

"She's not here yet?"

They heard a knock on the open door and they looked to see Y/N.

"Sorry, I took so long. I was out and invited Knuckles."

Knuckles walked in to reveal himself and stood next to her with his arms crossed. Sonic choke on his spit at the sight to see them together, while Tails started to get jealous.

"What were they doing while I was gone?"

"Yes! They're here! They're here!"

The President approaches.

"Great to finally meet you, Sonic and Y/N."

"Pleasure."

He, Sonic, and Y/N shook hands.

"Now, hold that right there! Hurry! Hurry! Reporters! Photographers! This is the moment you've een waiting for!" Jerome exclaimed in excitement.

All the reporters quickly huddled in and started flashing their cameras at them. Once they're done, she looked at Chris and he gave her thumbs up that her song worked.

"Good job, Chris."

Knuckles suddenly shivered and looked to see Sonic glaring at him as he did a finger gester that he's watching him without Y/N noticing.
