Gwen looks at Classic Gwen in awe and shock.

"Little me, did you see some purple thing?" Gwen asked her classic counterpart.

This made Classic Gwen recall what really happened.

~ FLASHBACK ~

Classic Tails was working on the plane.

"Don't worry. When I'm done, we can go." he assured them as Classic Sonic rolled his eyes and looked at Classic Gwen, who sighed and sped after him.

They roll around Green Hills and defeat some Badniks then speed past a sign.

They look around before a shockwave came.

"What was that?" Classic Gwen asked her brother, who shrugged before the time eater came.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Yep... It looked really ugly." Classic Gwen finished her story.

"Then there's no time. Let's go." Shadow said before he and the Gwens speed through the ARK.

Shadow and Gwen uses their boost to go faster, shocking Classic Gwen as she eyed their shoes that shoot rocket, following behind just a little slow.

"I'm so learning that in the future." Classic Gwen said.

Realizing she's far behind, Gwen stops and goed back to help her younger counterpart by grabbing her hand as they skate through the grind rail. Shadow took the lead boosting into some G.U.N robots, blowing them up while collecting rings along the way as the Gwens follow behind, avoiding obstacles.

Then, they bounce on the springs as Shadow and Gwen use homing attacks.

"COOL!" Classic Gwen exclaimed in awe and rolled into a ball and spin dashed above, bouncing into some G.U.N drones then went though a rainbow ring as she did a mid-air pose as Shadow blushes a bit but shook his head and speeds ahead.

Later, in the air, Shadow grunts as he suddenly holds his head.

"Shadow?!" Gwen and Classic Gwen yelled with worry.

He yells out, growing wings as Classic Gwen blushes hard but Gwen was nervous for him, seeing a sudden transformation. With this new power, Shadow flew around and carried the girls, destroying objects before reaching the goal.

They soon walk out of the ARK as Shadow pulsate with Black Arms energy.

"What was that new power? Gwens, any ideas?" Shadow asked them.

"Hey! I'm from your past. Don't look at me. I'm just trying to connect the dots on why I'm here, but a part of me has a good guess." Classic Gwen pointed out.

"I've never done anything like that before. It's not something I should normally be able to do." Shadow said, still walking. "Yet it felt... natural. What could be causing these mutations?"

"I don't know, but we'll find it out soon enough." Gwen said, glancing at the Black Arms energy on Shadow with worry.

Shadow reaches the edge of the land he's on, noticing another landmass only separated by sea.

"Something wrong?" Gwen asked as Shadow looks closer then Gwen notices it as they gasp in shock upon seeing a familiar face: Maria, who also notices Shadow and eagerly runs towards them.

"Maria, wait!"

Maria turns to see her grandfather. Reluctant to obey his orders, she looks back at Shadow from the distance.

"Maria...? No. She's gone. I'm seeing things." Shadow denied to himself.

"What if you're not?" Gwen asked, looking back at the distance where she could've sworn she saw someone.

Space Colony ARK, 50 years ago

A recreation of Maria sending Shadow to the Earth, who's sealed inside a container.

"Maria!" Shadow shouted out to her with worry.

"Shadow, I beg of you... please do it for me." Maria pleaded, holding the handle of the control.

"Maria..." Shadow pleaded, his voice shaking.

"For all the people... on that planet... Sayonara... Shadow the Hedgehog." Maria said her last goodbye to him.

Shadow looks down.

"Shadow... Shadow.... Shadow?" Gwen called out as Shadow snapped out of it.

"I need to stay focused. Deal with the problem at hand." he said to himself, looking up at the Black Moon. "Not chase... dreams."

"He... he's so cool... He's like my brother, but cooler." Classic Gwen said, looking awestruck.

"Little me, snap out of it." Gwen scolded her.

They soon walk around before seeing something with a weird eye.

"Bleh! What is that?" Classic Gwen asked, sticking her tongue out in disgust.

Shadow approaches a relic in the White Space. It scans his body before absorbing a Doom Gear from him. The gear activates the relic, which shatters and unleashes Black Arms energy as Gwen walks back and Classic Gwen shakes. Shadow ends up absorbing the energy and contorts in pain.

"No..." he grunted. "No..."

His left eye flashes red as he screams in agony, firing Doom Spears in every direction as the Gwens dodges them.

"Edgyhog!" Classic Gwen called.

He then strikes a pose with a blast of Black Arms energy. Worried he'll lose control, Gwen runs up to him, grabs him, and kissed him to calm him down. Classic Gwen blushes at the sight and quickly covers her eyes, peeking a bit through her fingers as Shadow kisses Gwen back. The two pull away, gazing into each other's eyes.

"So cute... Wait, he doesn't kidnap me in the future, right?" Classic Gwen asked.

"Um..." Gwen stammered, fiddling her fingers.

Shadow glances away in embarrassment. This causes Classic Gwen to groan in frustration and annoyance.

"Crud! I hate getting captured! First by Eggman when I was with my Sonic, Mighty and Ray, then when Knuckles decided to use me to try and ruin Sonic's spirits." she ranted, shocking Gwen.

"Wow ..... I'm sorry you get kidnapped a lot." Shadow said, feeling bad as they walk and explore before spotting Omega.

"Hey, Omega." Gwen greeted, waving at him.

"Badnik!!"

Classic Gwen spin dashes into Omega, knocking him across the White Space and revves up and spin dashes as Omega starts shooting her. She dodged the incoming fire and spin dashes around him to make him loose his sight.

"Little me, stop!!" Gwen shouted, but Classic Gwen didn't hear due to fighting with Omega

"Hostile child confirmed." Omega said.

Shadow knew this has to stop because if past Gwen dies, then his Gwen dies. Omega flew towards Classic Gwen with his cannons out as she used her ruby, getting ready.

"Chaos Control!" Shadow said, freezing time and separating them before it ended. "He is not an enemy." he said to Classic Gwen.

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah. He's on our side now. He has a free will." Gwen added.

"Oh. Sorry," Classic Gwen said, smiling sheepishly, then looked at Omega. "You're so cool, by the way."

Meanwhile, Sonic boosted around Green Hill Zone.

"Hope Gwen's okay." Sonic said as he boosted into Crabmeat and slid on hills, rescuing Chao along the way.

He bounced on a spring and performed homing attacks on Buzz Bombers.

"Haven't seen those in a while," Sonic said, then boosted on a loop.

Soon, Sonic got out, and Tails was saved.

"Thanks, Sonic. That was awful. I couldn't tell where I was or what happened. Where's Gwen?" Tails asked.

"Not sure about Gwen. She was with Shadow last I checked. If he let her get hurt, he'll answer to me. You're safe now. That's what's important," Sonic explained, feeling protective and worried for his sister.

They looked around.

"Is it just me, or does Green Hill look different?" Sonic asked.

"This isn't South Island." Tails said. "And all the colors have been sucked out. Totally strange."

"No stranger than fighting evil genies or saving G interstellar amusement parks. Right now, we need to focus on finding Gwen and our friends," Sonic said.

"We can start over there," Tails said, pointing at a colorless chemical plant. "That skyline looks familiar, but I can't be sure." he continued, looking thoughtful.

"That's a good lead as any. Back in a flash!" the blue hedgehog said and sped off, only for Classic Sonic to run up, startling Tails.

"You weren't kidding! I thought you already left." Tails said as Classic Sonic sped off.

Later, the Sonics speed around chemical plant zone, not aware of each other until Classic Sonic got out.

"Thanks, Sonic. Is it me or are you even more cuter?" Amy asked as Classic Sonic rolled his eyes then sped off.

Back to Shadow and the Gwens as they went to the Rail Canyon, going on some rails, boosting on them. Before the screen shifted, some rails tried to kill Shadow and Gwen as they jumped around.

"Hey!" Gwen said.

The one-eyed alien flew behind them, causing Classic Gwen to shriek before they fell on a road. Shadow skated with Gwen, and Classic Gwen tried to keep up.

"Wait!" she exclaimed.

"You again?" Gwen asked in annoyance, as she and Shadow hit some robots with homing attacks and used a pulley to get up. Classic Gwen leaped onto her elder counterpart's legs.

"This way, Shadow." Black Doom said, as Shadow and the Gwens followed.

"Why should I follow you?" Shadow asked, performing homing attacks.

"Can you afford not to?" Black Doom asked.

"I can afford to!" Classic Gwen said, as they were skydiving. "You one-eyed freak!"

They sped down a building.

"Ha ha ha! Very good, Shadow," Black Doom chuckled evilly.

"Will you shut up?!" the Gwens shouted in unison as they kept skydiving.

"Come to me if you can," Black Doom said.

"Oh, we will," Gwen promised with a warning as Shadow homing attacked some crystal thingy.

"Well done, Shadow, but it's still not enough." Black Doom said, annoying Gwen even more.

"Not enough? What did he mean?" Shadow asked, as they were soon rail grinding and got out.

Classic Gwen was nervous. She ran off to be alone, looking freaked out.

"Gwen, wait!" Shadow called out.

"Still here, but I get it. You meant little me," Gwen said and ran after her.

"What's wrong?" Shadow asked, catching up.

"I'm okay. I just feel weird. My heart is beating. There's a creepy alien!" Classic Gwen exclaimed in fear.

Gwen sighed, sitting next to her.

"Yep, that will happen. Now come on. We gotta work together," Gwen said.

"What did he do to you?" Classic Gwen wondered, recalling Gwen being angry at Black Doom.

"He mind-controlled me and made me fight Shadow," Gwen said grimly.

"Mi-mi-Mind control? I've been captured, but mind control? I-I I--" Classic Gwen stammered, not wanting to fight Shadow.

"Yeah, but he helped me. Look, we can do this. I know you tend to be brave for Sonic, but it's okay to be vulnerable," Gwen said.

Classic Gwen looked down for a moment and nodded. Gwen smiled and helped her up before they split up. Shadow and Gwen heading to the other side while Classic Gwen went to another.

Shadow approaches a relic in the White Space. It scans his body before absorbing a Doom Gear from him. The gear activates the relic, which shatters and unleashes Black Arms energy. Shadow ends up absorbing the energy and contorts in pain.

"No..." he groaned. "No..."

Gwen watches with concern. His left eye flashes red as he rushes to the camera and pummels it mercilessly before launching it upwards. The camera looks around helplessly before Shadow appears next to it and kicks it away with a Doom Blast. He then teleports one more time and punches it downwards.

Gwen cautiously approaches Shadow.

"Shadow? Are you... still here?"

Shadow calms down and faces Gwen before nodding.

"I'm... fine."

Meanwhile, Classic Gwen was looking around when out of nowhere, Classic Metal Sonic flew by.

He grabbed Classic Gwen, who yelped, and flew into a portal that was activated.

"Little me?" Gwen called, hearing her yelp.

Shadow turns, looking concerned, then sees a portal and glares. Walking in as Gwen follows, they look around, seeing the beige murky water, and notice they were on a familiar platform with a gap.

"This is-" Gwen started as the biolizard landed, and she wobbles a bit, shaking, with her arms flailing slightly.

"The Biolizard." Shadow said as it roared at them and Shadow and Gwen stand their ground.

"Remember the big weak spot?" Gwen asked, smirking at Shadow, who smirked back.

"How could I forget?" Shadow said, as it comes towards them, and they barely avoid it, making sure to stay out of the water.

"I'll end it's suffering," he promised as they get close and slide on the rail, doing a tango combo attack of punches and kicks.

Meanwhile...

"Off! Off! Off!" Classic Gwen shouted, trying to cut Classic Metal Sonic with her katana, but he wouldn't budge. Thankfully, Classic Sonic comes to her rescue and spins into Classic Metal Sonic.

"Thanks." Classic Gwen ssid as they speed on Stardust Speedway, and Classic Metal Sonic tried using his energy field, but they dodge and spin into him, knocking him down but he got up.

Shadow and Gwen keep using the same strategy before the Biolizard grows wings.

"WTF!" Gwen screamed in shock.

"That's new, but keep cool, Gwen," Shadow stated, assuring her. "If he thinks those will stop me, he's mistaken." he continued as they spread out.

It tries to attack by slamming it's wings on the ground as Shadow and Gwen leap to dodge before attacking it. This caused it to pop as the two perform homing attacks then attacks the core as Shadow grabs Gwen and spins her and tosses her into it.

She yelled out a battle cry and slashed it multiple times with her ice sword as some weird blood entered her mouth as she spits it out and backflips before landing next to Shadow.

Classic Metal Sonic knocks the Street lamps as the two hedgehogs dodged them, then Classic Gwen leaps, taking out her katana and slashed him down as Classic Sonic spin dashes into him.

POW!

The metallic doppelganger rolls on the ground but flew up not done.

The Biolizard leaps and lands, causing a shockwave but the couple leaped over them then Shadow and Gwen preforms chaos control.

"Take this, you godzilla wanna be!" Gwen shouted as they attack it together.

Then the Biolizard latched onto the ceiling with the tubes attaching to it.

"Stop struggling. You'll cling to a crueler fate." Shadow warned, tossing Chaos Spears at the orb as it charges up to something big.

Classic Metal Sonic chases them in a energy field as the two hedgehogs spin dash away and leap on a platform. Soon the classic robot got tired out, giving the advantage for the hedgehogs to give one last spin dash.

They did a flip and punted Classic Metal Sonic, who blew up and freed Classic Amy.

The three hedgehogs spin around and strike a pose.

"Thanks, you two!" Classic Amy said cheerfully. "I was picking flowers when some weird monster came and attacked me... I'll try and help the best I can. I've been training." she continued, swinging her hamner around.

Classic Gwen smiles and high fives her.

"Okay. We gotta split up... Maybe I can... um find Knuckles and make sure he doesn't punch you." Classic Gwen lied and skated off as Classic Sonic looked concerned as Classic Amy hugged him before he ran off.

"Sonic! Wait!" Classic Amy called, chasing after him.

As Classic Gwen skated off, she didn't notice a certain red echinda was spying.

The Biolizard shot the orb as the couple perform chaos control again before punching, kicking and slashing destroying it as they bounce into orbs then deliver a heavy strike. The Biolizard collapsed on the ground, defeated and unmoving.

After defeating it, Shadow and Gwen walk out of the portal. They watched the White Space expand from the Biolizard's Boss Gate. Shadow grunts in dismissal as he turns back to the Boss Gate before Classic Gwen caught up.

"Hey, guys!" she said. "Metal took me, then me and my brother kicked his butt and saved Amy."

From an unseen point of view, something approaches them. Shadow and Gwen looks back to see Doom's Eye, which Classic Gwen yells in terror, walking back.

"Shadow."

Shadow glared as it manifests a projection of Black Doom.

"You have made excellent progress. I would expect nothing less from my finest creation and my future slaves." he said, looking at the Gwens as Classic Gwen keep backing away.

"I- I- I-" she stammered, feeling tongue-tied and sweating bullets enough to form a puddle.

"Who are you calling slave?" Gwen sneered.

""Finest creation", Black Doom? I destroyed you once. I will do it again." Shadow declared.

Shadow skates towards Doom's Eye and kicks at the Black Doom projection, only to phase through it. Doom's Eye dodges the strike and taunts Shadow, who uses Chaos Snap to teleport and try to strike it. Doom's Eye dodges again, once more displaying Black Doom before Gwen leaps and tries to cut him and freeze him, only for it to phase through again. Black Doom laughs at their so-called attack.

"You defeated us, but the Black Arms live on. And this temporal anomaly has accelerated my plans to revive my forces and consume the world." Black Doom promised.

Shadow skates towards Doom's Eye and fires a Chaos Spear in its direction, striking Doom's Eye in the eye before using a Homing Attack on it and landing several kicks as Gwen leaps and punches it down. Doom's Eye collapses and seemingly fades away, except another Doom's Eye appears and shows Black Doom.

"Show yourself! We'll finish this here and now!" Shadow demanded as Classic Gwen tried to stand her ground but was seeing images and has a full on panic attack.

"Leave mini me alone!" Gwen warned, seeing Classic Gwen scared.

"You and your smaller counterpart will make fine slaves." Black Doom said evilly before turning back to Shadow. "

"You are not ready yet. We are not ready yet. Once you have been perfected, then we will have our reckoning."

Shadow clenches a fist in anger and grits his teeth as Doom's Eye ends the projection and flies away.

"I can't be afraid..." Classic Gwen stammered as Gwen hugs her little counterpart with comfort while calming her down.

Shadow glances at them.

"I'll make sure he doesn't mind control you again." he promised.

"Wanna hear a story?" Gwen asked her little counterpart, hoping it would cheer her up.

"Yeah." Classic Gwen nodded.

"Don't the less she knows the better?" Shadow asked.

"Okay, I'll make it short. Sonic and I have had our fair share of differences and hardships and honestly a lot of boys like us." Gwen said, blushing a bit.

"Like Bark?" Classic Gwen asked.

This made Gwen mentally face palmed herself.

"You've gotta be kidding me... Anyway, we always win because we never give up, so you can't give up either. Keep fighting. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy need you." Gwen said as Classic Gwen gets pumped up and spin dashes away, excited.

"We should follow her. We can't risk splitting up again." Shadow suggested. "If she dies, you die."

Gwen nods in agreement before they follow after Classic Gwen.
