In the hospital:
Sonic and the others were sitting in the couch as Misaka was sleeping.
Sonic: (Why is Eggman with her?)
Kuroko: Hot, hot, hot...
The woman and Eggman comes out.
Kuroko: Sissy! Please, wake up, sissy!

Misaka was still sleeping.
Kuroko: Sissy! Sissy...? Okay then, a wake up kiss...
Sonic: Huh?
As Kuroko was going to kiss Misaka, Misaka gets up and hits her in the head.
Misaka: That doesn't usually wake anyone up.
Kuroko: But you were not waking up, were you?
Harumi: You three are still here?
Kuroko: There is something we need to ask you.
Harumi: Dr. you may go now.
Eggman: Yes, mam.
Eggman walks away as Sonic and Eggman both look at each other.
Sonic: (Eggman, just what are you planning?)
Harumi: I have to say, it sure is hot. Does this place not turn on the air, even in the middle of summer?
Kuroko: Good question.
Doctor: I'm terribly sorry. We had a power outage last night. Things haven't been restored yet.
Harumi: Oh. They're using emergency backup power for operations, and critical care patients.
Harumi goes to take off her shirt.
Kuroko: Eh?
Sonic looks back.
Sonic: Oh no.
Misaka: There she goes again.
Kuroko: What are you stripping for, all of a sudden?!
Harumi: Well, it's hot, right?
Kuroko: There are gentlemen around!
Harumi: Not even if I leave my underwear on?
Kuroko: Not even!
Kuroko puts her shirt back on.
Harumi: Oh.
Misaka: Dr. Kiyama, we'd like to ask your opinion, as a specialist.
Harumi: That's fine, but it's too hot here.

In the city:
Uiharu was waiting on Saten to come.
Uiharu: Saten sure is late.
Saten comes behind her and pulls up her skirt.
Saten: Blue striped today, huh?
Uiharu: Ehhhhh!

Few minutes later:
Uiharu: You said in your email that you wanted to show me something.
Saten: I'm glad that you asked that. Feast your eyes on this!
Uiharu: Huh?
Saten: I've finally found the fabled item! Ta-da!
Saten shows her the item on her phone.
Uiharu: It's a music player, right?
Saten: It's what's on it that matters. I'll show you later.

With Sonic and the others:
Harumi: Now, to pick up where we left off, why is that swimsuits are okay, but underwear is not, when they both expose the same amount?
Sonic, Misaka, Kuroko: No, not that.
Sonic: So, I've been asking, what's Eggman doing here with you?
Harumi: He's my assistant. He helps me with what I do.
Sonic: (I don't believe a thing about Eggman. He'll never help people unless if it's something important.)

Few minutes later:
Harumi: Level Upper? What kind of a system is it? In what fashion is it used?
Kuroko: We don't know that yet.
Harumi: But either way, it might have something to do with the students who are now in a coma. That's what you're thinking.
Kuroko: Yes.
Harumi: So, why are you mentioning it to me?
Kuroko: I believe that it's highly possible that the elevation of one's ability implements a system that interferes with the brain. As such, once we find this Level Upper, then Doctor, as a specialist, I would like you to investigate it.
Harumi: On the contrary, I would like to help you. I have an interest as a cerebrophysiologist. Incidentally, something has been bothering me for a little while. Do you know who these girls are?
In Joseph's:
Everyone had their foods and drinks.
Sonic: Nom nom nom nom.
Uiharu: Oh, you're a brain doctor? Is there something wrong with Kuroko's brain?

Misaka: From what Kuroko says, anyone found possessing a Level Upper will be taken into custody:

Few minutes later:
Kuroko: Thank you very much for telling us all of this, when you must be so busy.
Harumi: No, thank you. It reminded me of when i was a teacher. I enjoyed it.
Kuroko: You were a teacher, then?
Harumi: Once upon a time.
Harumi walks away.
Kuroko: What can I say? She is a little different from other people.
Uiharu: More so than you, Kuroko?
Kuroko: We should head back to the branch now.
Uiharu: And scarce though it may be, we have to put together the data we have to give to Dr. Kiyama.
Kuroko: Yes, we do.
Sonic and Misaka sees Saten running away.
Sonic, Misaka: Hmm?
They both run off to her.
Kuroko: And with that, we'll head back to the branch. Where's sissy and Sonic?

With Saten:
Saten: (I don't want to let this go. It's not as though I've used it yet. I can just not say anything, right?) I went through all that just to find it.
Misaka: What's the matter?
Sonic: Hey.
Saten: Misaka, Sonic, what are you...?
Misaka: Well, you disappeared so suddenly. We was worried about you.
Saten: I-It's nothing.
Misaka: But-
Saten: Well, you know, I'm the only one that this case has nothing to do with, right? I'm not Judgment, or anything.
Something fell out of Saten's pockets. Mississippi picks it up for her.
Saten: Thanks.
Sonic: So that's the thing you've always got hanging from your bag, right?
Saten: Yeah, it is. It's a good luck charm I got from my mom. A good luck charm has no basis in science, but still...

Flashback:
Boy: Sis, you're gonna be an esper? That's so cool!
Saten: He he!
Mom: Saten, even now, I'm against this, okay?
Dad: Mom is such a worry wart, huh?
Mom: I'm just afraid of her having her head tampered with.
Saten: It's not like that at all.
Her mom gives her a present.
Mom: Here's a good luck charm.
Saten: Oh, how unscientific.
Mom: If anything happens, you can always come right back home, okay? You are more important than anything else.

End of flashback:
Saten: My mom really is superstitious. There's no way something like this can protect me, right? It's not s barrier, or anything.
Misaka: You've got a kind mom, don't you? She worries enough about you to give you a good luck charm.
Saten: Yeah, i know. But there are times when all the expectations weigh heavy on me. After all this time, I'm still a Level 0.
Sonic: Your level doesn't make any difference, does it? It doesn't matter what level you are, if it doesn't make any difference to you, what's the point, right?
Saten: ...

The next day:
Kuroko: How is it going?
Uiharu: There's a lot of code and jargon in here, so it's hard to make out, but I've managed to uncover some sites that I believe to be Level Upper exchange spots.
Kuroko: Way to go, Uiharu.
Uiharu: Here's a list of the presumptive places.
Kuroko: Look at how many of them there are.
Uiharu: Kuroko...
Kuroko: It has to be one of the places in here, right? So then, I just have to cross them off, one by one.

In the city:
Sonic was running around Academy city when he sees Kuroko.
Sonic: Oh, hey, Kuroko.
Kuroko: Sonic? What are you doing here?
Sonic: Just running around. What are you doing here?
Kuroko: I'm looking at places where they have Level Upper exchange spots.
Sonic: Well, I'm coming with you.
Kuroko: What? This job is for Judgement, you're not-
Sonic: I'm still going.
Kuroko: Hmph, fine.

With Saten:
Saten: (Level Upper, huh? It's a dream item, one that can let me be an esper. But I'm afraid of something I don't know about. It's not good, isn't it?)
A noise came as Saten hears a man.
Man:I thought you were going to let me have the Level Upper!
Man2:The price has gone up since. If you want this, bring another 100,000.
Man: In that case, give me my money back.
One of the man kicks him in the gut.
Man3: You wanna use this guy to see how much your levels have gone up?
Saten: I need to call Judgement or Anitskill here...
She tries to call, but her phone was dead.
Saten: (Uh oh, battery's dead.) I guess it's no use, right? It's not like I can do anything... I mean, there's three of those guys, and I'm just barely out of grade school, myself...) Stop that!
That man is hurt, and Antiskill will be here any moment, so...
The man barely kicks her in the wall.
Man: What did you say?
The man goes to grab her head, but Sonic grabs his.
Sonic: You better keep your hands away from her!
Saten: Sonic...
Man: Who are you? A rat? Guys that don't have any power have no right ordering people around.
Sonic: You sure about that?
Sonic kicks him back.
Man: Huh?
Kuroko: Those of you who mistake gifted power as being your own have no right to say anything at all to her. Judgement!
Saten: Kuroko...
Sonic jumps to Kuroko.
Sonic: Good entrance.
Kuroko: Hmph. You're under arrest for red handed aggravated assault.
Man2: Ha! Of all the nonsense... We just have two more little kids here, don't we?
Sonic: You shouldn't call us little kids. We're more than that!

Kuroko touches Sonic as he teleports next to the man.
Man3: What?
Sonic was in the air and punches his face as he was down. The other man throws metal at them, but they dodged it. Kuroko teleports next to him and hits him with her case.
Man: Interesting ability you've got there. Teleportation, is it? I've never seen it before. What about you? I guess you don't have a ability.
Sonic: Why would I tell you?
Kuroko: You speak as though you're not involved, but you're next.
Man: Before we got our hands on the Level Upper, we lived in fear of you Judgement types. Which is why... now that we've got some decent power, we'd like to pound you guys into the ground!
The man goes to attack, but Kuroko grabs Sonic and teleports. As they looked back, he was gone.
Sonic: He vanished.
The man comes behind as he goes to kick Sonic, but Kuroko blocks it by her case.
Sonic: Kuroko!
Kuroko: (He came from behind as though he got around us...)
Sonic runs towards to punch him, but he misses as the man kicks him.
Sonic: Guahh!
Kuroko: Sonic!
Kuroko throws her bolts at the man, but it missed.
Kuroko: (I missed!)
The man goes for a slash, but she dodges it.
Kuroko: (I have to determine why he's moving where we're not anticipating.)
The man runs towards Kuroko.
Kuroko: (Here he comes.)
The man goes for a kick as Kuroko goes to block it, but he angled his kick which hits her.
Kuroko: Guaaa!
Kuroko was kicked towards a window and breaks through.
Sonic: Kuroko!
Sonic goes to where Kuroko is.
Sonic: Kuroko, are you okay?
Kuroko: I'm fine.
Man: That's a great sensation. Must have cracked two, maybe three ribs.
Kuroko throws a bolt at the man, but she misses.
Man: What are you doing? You don't mean to tell me you can't teleport anymore, right? I'm not through playing just yet.
Sonic carries Kuroko and runs inside the building.
Man: Fine. But if you run out of this abandoned building, I'll kill the fatty and the girl outside.

With Sonic and kuroko:
Sonic: Can you still walk?
Kuroko: Yeah. There really is nowhere to hide in here, huh?
Sonic: Guess so.
Kuroko teleports with Sonic to the second floor.
Sonic: I don't hear any footsteps...
Kuroko: He still thinks we're on the first floor.
As they kept walking, the man appeared right there.
Man: I found you.
Kuroko: What?
Sonic grabs Kuroko and dodges his kick.
Sonic: If he knows where we are, then that means...
Man: Yep. This abandoned building is one of our hangouts, so I know every nook and cranny of it. Sound also resonates well in here.
Kuroko teleports with Sonic again.
Man: Like I said, sound resonates well in here. Run away all you like, and tire yourself out.
Sonic and Kuroko were at the fifth floor as the man was there too.
Man: Looks like you're starting to get tired of playing tag, now.
Sonic: What do you mean? I never get tired.
Man: Never mind, let's settle this already.
Kuroko: I know what your ability is. It's to simply to mislead the eye to distort the light that passes around you.
Sonic: What?
Man: Whoo, you figured it out, did you?
Sonic: (I don't know how that works.)
Kuroko: Your lets swing at an impossible angle; things I throw trace an unnatural trajectory; in short, you bend light to create an image in a false location. The focal point is fixed somewhere beside your actual body, throwing off our sense of direction, right? That is why the trajectory of what u threw... curved.
Sonic: (So that's why I couldn't attack him.)
Man: It's called "Trick Art." But now that you know, what can you do about it? The only things you can rely on are your own eyes.
Kuroko: *Whisper* Sonic, remember the plan?
Sonic: *Whisper* Yep. Let's finish this.
Kuroko: It is true, we may not be able to hit you...
Kuroko touches the window as the glass hits the wall inside.
Man: Huh? What are you trying to do?
Kuroko: With my teleportation, the matter that is being moved displaces the matter at the location to which it is moving.
Sonic: And with my speed, there's no way you can catch us! Now!

Sonic grabs Kuroko and runs to the opposite side as Kuroko touches the glass as the glass hits the walls. They got into a dead end as the man was there.
Man: What are you doing?!
Kuroko: Once all the columns that are supporting the building are cut... you can guess what happens, right?
Man: You wouldn't destroy the whole building...!
Sonic: Yep!
Man: That's crazy!
The building breaks apart as smoke and glass falls.
Kuroko: I get the feeling that I may have overdone it a little.
Sonic: I think you did.
Kuroko: Now, we'll be taking that Level Upper. Or we could go flatten another two or theee buildings together...
The man gives them the item.
Sonic: Huh? That's just a music player.
Man: The Level Upper is a song.
Sonic, Kuroko: A song?
Antiskill comes in to take the prisoners.
Kuroko: Another job done...
Kuroko couldn't stand properly.
Sonic: Kuroko, are you okay.
Kuroko: What are you talking about? I'm from Judgement.
Sonic: He he, yeah. Anyway, I'll be off now.
Kuroko: Hey! Wait!
Sonic goes ahead.
Saten was hiding as she runs off.
Saten: Thank goodness. Kuroko and Sonic are safe. I don't like how I feel. Someone who's a middle schooler, just like me... I don't know about Sonic, but... he's always helpful. He doesn't care about levels or anything. They lived in a different world than I do. Everything is different between espers and Level 0s.
Akemi: Saten! Hey! Yoo-hoo!
Saten: Akemi, Mu, and Mako, too!
Akemi: What are you doing out by yourself? Shopping?
Saten: Well, I guess you could say that. What about you guys?
Akemi: Studying at the library. We can't do anything about our abilities, but we still have to keep up our studies.
Saten: Yeah, sure.
Mu: Oh, have you heard about this Level Upper thing?
Mako: What's with you?
Mu: Oh, you know. The thing that's supposed to increase your ability.
Akemi: Yeah, yeah, word is, there're going for a lot of money on the black market nowadays.
Mu: I don't have any money.
Saten: L-Listen... I've got one of them...
