Note: I recommend to watch the video first before reading, but it's not necessary either. The video shows a level of Sonic (2006): Crisis City. As you know in the last chapter, Sonic had to pass Station Square in the middle of a chaos after Dr. Ladimir opened a giant portal in space using a machine with the Chaos Emeralds and the Emerald of Dimensions. After that, some meteors and Fireballs started to fall from the portal and straight to Earth and Station Square.

The video is like an example of Sonic venturing through the city in the middle of the Chaos. You don't have to see it if you don't want to, but I highly recommend it if you want to see some action. After that, proceed to the reading part.

Sonic managed to find Station Square's main entrance and got through to get out of the city. The whole city was still in danger; meteors and fireballs kept falling from the gigantic portal on space that was been pulled by Dr Ladimir's weapon. The portal was going to absorb the Earth within 2 hours. Sonic needed to find Dr. Ladimir's base in order to spoil all his plans before it's too late.

Fortunately, Sonic has found his friends in Station Square main entrance too. Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, Shadow, Omega, Silver, Cream and Blaze. They somehow managed to get out of the city.

"Hey Sonic! Over here!" Silver said.

"Guys!" Sonic replied while dashing straight at them. "Boy, I'm glad you're all okay."

"There's no time for this Sonic!" Tails said. Now we need to stop this immediately before it's too late!"

"Wait, what do you mean? Don't you see what's happening right now?" Sonic said.

"The meteors and fireballs aren't the only problem" Omega said. "The gigantic portal is somehow coming straight to Earth. Soon within 2 hours, the portal will come and transport the Earth to the dimension that Dr. Ladimir created using a weapon with all the emeralds, including the Emerald of Dimensions."

"And what kind of dimension he created?" Sonic asked.

"There's nothing more than chaos in that dimension."

" Sonic. Omega knows the location of Dr. Ladimir's base, he's been there not a long time ago."

"Oh I'm glad to hear that."

"Whatever. We'll try to help the people at the city while you handle that. Now hurry up you two and get to Dr. Ladimir's base before it's too late!" Shadow said in a hard manner.

"Okay okay. Omega, lead the way please." Sonic said.

"Setting course to Dr. Ladimir's base of operations."

Sonic and Omega left the others; their friends were waving at them and saying goodbye. After a while, they went quickly back to Station Square to help the others while evading the meteors and fireballs.

Sonic and Omega were been as quick as possible to get to Dr. Ladimir's base of operations in no time. They were having a tough time evading the meteors and fireballs falling from the portal in space, and the road wasn't easy to pass anymore since the meteors made many cracks in their way. They had to climb downward and upward in some places in order to keep going.

It was already late at night, and the portal was still open. Sonic and Omega had 1:00 hour to reach Dr. Ladimir's base and stop his attack on Earth. After passing through many obstacles, they finally got to his Base of operations. It was still covered by the big force field. Thanks to this, the meteors and fireballs couldn't fall straight to the base; they instead were been pushed back.

"We finally made it to our destination" Omega said.

"This is it? Sonic replied. "Uugh, but it's been protected by a force field. How are we going to enter?"

"Scanning the whole area for any alternate route" Omega said. "Alternate route confirmed. A secret passage leading straight to the base's underground has been discovered toward us."

"Good job Omega! Now let's go quickly and with caution."

"Danger ahead!"

Omega grabbed Sonic and jumped forward to avoid a fireball going straight at them. They successfully avoid it; after that, they kept going straight to the alternate route. The doors could been opened easily without any kind of key or code. Omega opened the door and let Sonic passed first, followed by Omega itself.

Once they entered, they just saw a single and large hallway. Sonic dashed through the hallway, but he was doing it slowly too since Omega couldn't move as fast as Sonic; Omega was using his propellers on his back to move as fast as it could. Finally, they made it to the end of the hallway and saw a ladder toward them. Sonic climbed the ladder, followed by Omega; the ladder was a little large, but they finally made it to the surface.

"Sonic! You managed to escape from the dimensional world, and got here? I never thought that I would say this, but you're really amazing." Eggman said and... Confessed.

"Eggman! Did Dr. Ladimir put you in here? Sonic asked.

"Yes, and now he's in his lair preparing a weapon where he put the Chaos Emeralds along with the Emerald of Dimensions."

"Dr. Ladimir has already used the weapon to open a gigantic portal in space, and now he's bringing it straight to us." Omega said.

"And that's not all, meteors and fireballs started to fall from it too." Sonic said.

"Oh no. We are too late then. The portal will consume us at any moment, and by that time, is going to be our end."

"There's only 50 minutes left before it comes to Earth. There's still an opportunity to stop it before it comes." Omega replied.

"Really? Then we must take a move on and do something before it's too late." Eggman said.

"How do we get you out of here Eggman?" Sonic asked.

"This capsules are able to get straight to Ladimir's laboratory located at the top of this place, but they can only be transported from there, so you must get to the laboratory first and get me there."

"You can leave that to me, I'm the world's fastest hedgehog!"

"All right then! My capsules number is 30. Once you get there, look for the same number on the main computer and push it to get my capsule straight to it."

"I'll stay here with Eggman to protect him in case if any enemy robots comes." Omega said.

Sonic rapidly dashed out of the capsules room. He was venturing around the base, destroying every robot in his way, reaching far away places, jumping from wall to wall and skating with a board. Finally, he made it straight to the laboratory at the top of the base. He saw the weapon that was pulling the portal straight to Earth and all the emeralds within it.

Before he could do something with it, he tried to find the space where he could bring the capsule where Eggman is. Each space had a number, and Eggman's number was 30. All capsules were controlled by the main computer; Sonic went to it and start looking for the button with the 30 on it. Once he found it, he quickly pushed it, making Eggman's capsule ascend straight to the laboratory on the act. Omega got to the capsule's top so that he wouldn't stay behind. Finally, the capsule got to the laboratory, and by doing it, the capsule opened by itself, freeing Eggman on the act.

"Finally, I'm free!" Eggman said with happiness.

"Well that's good for you, but how about if you do something about this gigantic portal now before it suck us?" Sonic said.

"20 seconds left before the portal consume us." Omega said.

"Whoa, I must hurry! Eggman yelled desperately.

He quickly went to the main computer and started to work on it. He found the main functions of the weapon and started to find a way to stop it. "Please write on the following board you're next action" The computer said. Eggman started to write to stop the weapon; there wasn't much time left.

FIVE... FOUR... THREE... TWO...ONE...

"the weapon has successfully deactivated."

Phew! That was a close one" Eggman said.

After deactivating the weapon, the laser connecting the portal with it disappeared, making the portal to slowly dissapear too. The meteors and fireballs stopped falling; the people at Station Square we're cheering after all the chaos they went through was over. Sonic's friends were cheering too. "I knew that you could do it Sonic the Hedgehog" Shadow said. Sonic, Eggman and Omega saw everything through the window. It was already nighttime, but they noticed that the portal disappeared.

"Well, I think that settles everything" Sonic said.

"You nasty little hedgehog" Ladimir's voice just got through the ears of them, making them to look behind them.

"I see that the prison wasn't enough to get you out of my way" Ladimir said.

"Well, what do we got here, is the Dr. Ladiloser" Sonic said mockingly.

"Very funny" Ladimir replied while grabbing all the emeralds with his ship.

"Hey, let those free you maniac" Sonic shouted.

"It's all over Ladimir, all you're plans are ruined, there's nothing more you can do" Eggman said.

"Well, I still can crush you're little blue rival. He did what you just did many years ago. HE SPOILED MY GLORY!!"

Suddenly, Ladimir used the Emerald of Dimensions to create a portal. Once created, he quickly entered his ship along with all 8 emeralds. This portal didn't have any intention of sucking everything; it just remained open and calmly.

"NO!" Eggman shouted.

"Dr. Ladimir still has the Emerald of Dimensions in his power. We must pursuit him immediately!" Omega said.

"I'll go, you guys must get out of here now!" Sonic said.

"Sonic, don't be a hero right now" Eggman replied.

"Do you have any more bright ideas!?" Eggman remained silent when Sonic said that to him.

"I'll defeat Ladimir and get out of there with all the emeralds in no time."

"Proceed with caution" Omega said.

Sonic dashed to the portal and finally jumped straight to it and entered. Eggman and Omega were left behind while Sonic follows Dr. Ladimir. The future of the world was in Sonic's and Ladimir's hands.
