What if Shadow was made by Mother Wisp? (Part 4) [Finale?]
It's time I finish this timeline so this book can move onto other What ifs.
Just a heads up, since Frontiers won't be out the time I post this, I won't be including it in the What if.
I'll as briefly as possible lay down what happens in the last few games.
—————————————————————
Sonic Unleashed
Most of the story in Unleashed stays the same, but with the twist being Shadow gets involved halfway through the adventure.
Shadow basically finds a street filled with tons of Dark Gaia creatures causing chaos all over the place.
When he meets his adopted son being in Werehog form, he's initially surprised at this, but eases the boy to not let his change get to him.
If there was multiplayer, this Shadow would be Player 2 for the Werehog stages.
Shadow just stays with Sonic and helps with the adventure, though something diverts him away from the final battle.
Some mysterious figure tries to sabotage their battles in Adabat, Shamar and Holoska.
After Adabat encounter, Shadow wishes Sonic well on defeating Eggman as he tries to hunt down whoever was interrupting their fights.
Unfortunately, he only gets a short chase scene with the enemy before they disappear, leaving Shadow wondering if there's a reason he was the target specifically.

Sonic Colors
Shadow joins Sonic and Tails for this adventure in a space amusement park, the run seeming normal for a bit.
It's when they encounter Wisps for the first time that things shift quickly.
Shadow is shocked to find that his siblings are being captured by Eggman, having to hold back his rage at the moment in front of his two adopted sons.
He then realized that if his siblings are here...
...his mother must be here too!
The hybrid uses the time to catch up with his siblings, namely Yacker, who never got to meet Shadow since the two were born years apart.
Shadow pretty spends most of the adventure being Player 2, as well as the tutorial for extra abilities each Wisp can give Sonic.
On every planet is that same mystery figure, still trying to sabotage their adventures and make their fight difficult.
It's not until they freed the last planet and headed back for the main park that the figure reveals itself to Sonic and Shadow.
"Who are you? Why are you doing this?" Shadow demands answers from the enemy
"My name is Eclipse.....and I was sent to destroy you." The figure says.
Black Doom had secretly figured out during his invasion that Gerald had betrayed him and chosen not to make him a weapon to help him invade Mobius.
In revenge against Gerald, Black Doom had the DNA sample he gave him retrieved so he could use it to make someone built for the sole purpose of ending Shadow.
Shadow and Sonic engaged Eclipse in a fight, taking on the threat together.
Originally Eclipse was just wanting to fight Shadow, but Sonic being added into the fray meant he was heavily outmatched in the fight.
Sonic and Shadow leap from building to building and homing attack Eclipse, also in addition to Shadiw teleporting around him and throwing Chaos Spears and Cyan Lasers at him.
Eclipse is eventually forced to retreat to take another action against them.
After Sonic and Shadow team up against Eggman and destroy the Nega Wisp Armor, it seems like they've won.
Unfortunately, a giant purple alien that was creepier than the Nega Wisps appears and attacks.
Shadow immediately recognized the alien as his mother, the Mother Wisp, but......she was drained of Hyper-Go-on energy like the other Wisps!
Sonic takes her on with Super form while Shadow fights the one that released her.....Eclipse!
"Why are you doing this?!" Shadow calls out at Eclipse during the fight.
"It was what I was created for...destruction and feeding off of others!" Eclipses replies to him. "My kind will be avenged!"
"Not today!" Shadow says with a glare. "This feud ends here!"
Shadow blasts full power cyan lasers, red bursts, crimson eagles and black bombs at Eclipse, relentlessly bombarding the alien with attacks.
Eclipse took the damage eventually, getting blasted into unconscious and into space...
...but Shadow wouldn't relent, even though he was down.
It was there that Tails realized that Eclipse's real way of winning wasn't to beat Shadow in combat...
...it was to make someone else be forced to take down Shadow!
Shadow had been using so much Hyper Go On energy from his body, he was slowly draining himself and losing himself to the emotional haze.
Super Sonic looks at a drooping Shadow nervously, worried about his dad after the Super form had just saved Mother Wisp.
Shadow then stood up straight to reveal a dark purple form, but his stripes being black now, his mouth having razor sharp teeth.....and black eyes devoid of life.
Nega Shadow was just unleashed!
Shadow attacks Super Sonic, unable to think clearly....like he's been reduced to a savage.
Sonic dodged with whatever he has, not wanting to hurt his dad, but Nega Shadow was making his Super form drain it's energy from having to constantly move, leaving him slow enough to get slashed and blasted a few times.
Mother Wisp blasts Nega Shadow with a beam of pure and positive Hyper Go On energy, though he eventually gets out of it and fires a dark beam at his own mother, forcing the giant alien to put a shield over herself.
Super Sonic engages Nega Shadow in battle, boosting into him several times and having to narrowly dodge a counterattack.
With one final boost, Super Sonic tackles Nega Shadow right into the giant beam Mother Wisp was making, being forced to take some of the blast himself in order to save his dad.
Shadow's original form slowly returned back as he gained sentience again, looking to see what his fight did.
He was so worried about his mother and siblings when he was fighting Eclipse, that he didn't realize his rage almost made him do the work for Eclipse.
Shadow broke down in front of his mother and Sonic, getting comforted by both of them.
After the moment had calmed down, Sonic asked why he still felt a surge of power, even though he wasn't in Super form right now.
Shadow explains that Sonic had absorbed tons of Hyper Go On energy when he was hit by the beam too, and it was likely part of his powers now. (And maybe is technically related to Mother Wisp now.)
Sonic tests this out and managed to do the White Wisp Boost without the help of any Wisps.
He also learned he could fire cyan lasers, do a combination of his homing attack and Crimson Eagle power, cover his body in fire from Burst Wisp powers and combine his light speed dash on ring trails with Lightning Wisp powers.
Shadow offers to help Sonic master his new increase in powers, even if it becomes difficult.
And Mother Wisp offers to let Yacker stay with Sonic to help him out, even offering a special gift if Sonic can figure it out.
Mother Wisp gives Shadow a farewell hug, hoping to see him again, as well as her grandchildren. (And maybe by the time she comes back, she'll meet her great grandchildren.)
Planet Wisp leaves....with only Shadow, Yacker and a small population of Wisps choosing to stay on Mobius.

Generations
Nothing really changes here, other than Sonic's new powers allowing him to overpower every threat and Shadow isn't a boss fight.
—————————————————————
Lost World
At the beginning of the story, most of it stays the same from the original timeline, but Sonic's new powers make him too OP for the Badniks to handle.
Shadow shows up right after Sonic beat Zomom to offer helping Sonic, feeling something might go wrong.
Unlike in the original timeline, Sonic doesn't knock the conch shell out of Eggman's hands, due to Shadow telling Sonic to use the mind control situation to their advantage to take the Deadly Six out.
Sonic and Shadow strike right when Eggman uses the shell to put the Zeti in their place, knocking them into the ruins in the area and putting them nearly out cold.
Out of nowhere, Eclipse arrives and uses the chaos to knock the conch out of Eggman's hands and blast it.
The Zeti take control of the Badniks and attack Eggman, Sonic, Shadow and Tails with them, the group forced to flee for now.
Eclipse later reveals to Sonic and the group that he had been spying on Eggman's operations to find something he could use himself since his previous attack on Shadow didn't work.
He reasoned that freeing the Deadly Six would help him get the numbers needed to wear Sonic and Shadow down so he could finish them himself.
Plus Eclipse could also destroy the world as revenge too by helping the Deadly Six use the Extractor to drain the energy from the planet.
It's win-win for Eclipse and the Zeti. All of them will get to kill Sonic and Shadow, destroy the world and get life energy to feed themselves too.
From here on out, Sonic and Shadow watch carefully for any attempts at sabotage Eclipse might try.
The trap doesn't capture Sonic or Tails, but Eclipse decides to straight up fly in and kidnap Tails in an effort to see if he can pressure Shadow into going Nega again.
Shadow nearly gets hit directly by the Extractor in Eclipse's attempt to make him lose control again, forcing Shadow to have to abandon helping Sonic and Eggman.
Eggman presumably falls to his "death" in lava like in canon, leaving Sonic without no one around him.
Sonic beats the Deadly Six like in canon, with help from Tails tricking Eclipse into thinking he was a mindless cyborg.
It wasn't easy, especially since Eclipse kept showing up his own version of the Wisps called the Dark Arm Powers.
While Sonic was fast enough to keep up his Wing form and capable of dodging Laser and Sonic Cannon forms attacks, Armor form kept wearing out his ranged attacks, forcing Sonic to rely on attacking him up close with overwhelming speed and force.
Eclipse was stunned Sonic was putting up a better fight than Shadow had in the space battle, figuring a hedgehog with limited power than his rival would've been done in less than 3 minutes.
As a last resort when it was just Eclipse and Zavok left, both of them grew in size, with Eclipse specifically using his Monster form as a last ditch effort to end the hedgehog.
While the form is brutal and keeps Sonic on his toes trying to dodge him and a giant Zavok, Sonic manages to defeat Zavok the same way in canon.
In one final epic charge, Sonic charges a spin dash filled with Hyper Go On energy and speeds at Eclipse running towards him, finishing the clash by knocking Eclipse far out of the Lost Hex.
Tails turns off the Extractor, though Eggman shows up in the Eggrobo to try to end a worn out Sonic.
Shadow arrives and severely damaged the robot enough for Sonic to give a few rounds of attacks to finish it off.
The conflict on the Lost Hex is over...but it was still a battle in a long war to come.

Episode Shadow
I think the events here would stay relatively the same.
Shadow doesn't mock Zero, so the jackal's reasoning for becoming Infinite isn't out of pride.
I know what you're thinking...
"Isn't Shadow supposed to be kind in this timeline? Why didn't he try to change Infinite?"
Well it's simple....Zero/Infinite desires destruction and despair, not really caring anymore for how the world is supposed to be.
There's a prequel comic to Forces where we see Zero as the leader of a group of mercenaries called the Jackal Squad, who mostly attack targets for their own benefits.
They tried to attack one of Eggman's locations for parts and equipment, but Zero changed his mind in the middle of the fight and agreed to have him and his squad work for Eggman, despite some concerns from his team.
Zero had seen a vision through the Phantom Ruby of a future he secretly desired....a world of destruction.
Eggman liked Zero's style and put the offer to join out for him.
Infinite desires power like Eggman, wanting to see himself over others and have everyone fear him while acknowledging him as the ultimate Mobian.
In every What if scenario....Infinite just can't turn good.
As the saying goes, "Some men just want to watch the world burn."
Maybe if I was asked to do a "What if Infinite turned good" scenario, that would be the exception, but it's hard to imagine changing someone who has a mindset like that.
For now, Shadow just breezes through this one.

Forces
Shadow is unable to come assist Sonic when he first faces Infinite, being stuck in an illusion too long to come help him.
Not only does Infinite beat Sonic around with illusions of Metal Sonic, Chaos and Zavok...
...but Eclipse is there to help too, revealing he's teamed up with Eggman to defeat Sonic.
Sonic is no match for all of them attacking him at once, and there's no way Tails can get him out of there in this.
By the time Shadow arrives...Sonic is gone and he finds a traumatized Tails, comforting him and trying to assure he would get his older brother back.
Shadow spent months searching the world for Sonic, going to every corner and isolated place to find him, only taking a break often to keep Tails company.
When an illusion of Chaos tried to attacked Tails, Shadow tried to hurry over to save him, only for Classic Sonic to show up and take him out first.
After some talk between each other, Shadow theorized that Infinite's Phantom Ruby was affecting reality too much and Classic showing up was a result of that.
The three agree to hurry over to the Resistance...
...only to be surprised that a rookie on the force rescued their Sonic, who was being held on the Death Egg all this time.
After a heartwarming family reunion, the Resistance continued through the campaign as usual.
Eclipse does try to sabotage the fight against Metal Sonic by using Laser form and Sonic Cannon form to blast Sonic and the Rookie, but a Double Boost winds up making it difficult for him to hit them.
The alien only really becomes a true threat when he helps Infinite fight Sonic and the Rookie near the end of the story.
Shadow joins in on the final phase against Infinite, creating a Triple Boost that wiped the two villains off their feet.
After the fight, Infinite and his copy of the Phantom Ruby were pulled into the real one by Eggman like in canon.
Eclipse is captured by Eggman to use him as backup power for the Death Egg Robot in case he lost the Phantom Ruby.
Like in canon, Sonic, Classic and the Rookie team up and destroy the robot...
...but Shadow joins in to help when Eclipse is used as backup power to keep the fight going.
A Quadruple Boost shreds the robot to pieces, leaving it questionable if Eggman even survived.
Classic Sonic goes back to his home dimension while Rookie goes off on his own adventures.
When Shadow asked Knuckles how he was able to form a Resistance to quickly counter Eggman's empire, he told him a white male hedgehog claiming to be from the future came and warned them, leaving Shadow confused as to who told this hedgehog when in the timeline to go.
The Reconstruction begins as everyone tries to help civilization recover, with Sonic and Shadow ready to be the main defense of this world.

Epilogue
What happened to Shadow after the last game? Who knows?
I won't really continue this What if until I see if Frontiers is worth making a true finale page for, but it's still putting high bets on it.
Maybe Shadow might've actually settled down with someone and even had a child that could carry his Wisp DNA for generations.
It wasn't until 200 years in the future that Shadow found a young orphaned hedgehog.....bearing white fur and capable of using psychokinesis, adopting the kid as his son.
Shadow had been through generations of events, seeing more than any Mobian ever will in there lifetime, and he'll only have an end until someone murders him or the energy drained from him is too much to even turn into Nega Shadow.
It was sad when he had to see Maria eventually die of old age, but he promised her that he would remain strong for her.
So here he stands as the true Ultimate Lifeform, always guarding humans and Mobians from major enemies.
And someday, that title will be passed down to someone else to bear his torch and continue the fight.

Author's Note
And that's the end of my take on "What if Shadow was made by Mother Wisp?"
I'd like to know what you guys think of it, especially Mrknuc since he's waited a long time for this.
I'll look back at other requests to see which What if I should do next time.
At the time I posted this, this book is at 33 votes, so I'd like to make an offer in exchange for a goal met.
If you guys get this to 50 votes, I'll either do one of these What ifs at a group request.
1) What if one of my OCs was a canon character?
2) What if a villain turned good?
3) What if an Archie or IDW character was part of the timeline?
You basically just insert a name for one of these scenarios and I'll write for it.
That's it for now. I'll see you guys next time! Bye!
