Hey guys! JediAura here!
At the time I post this, I'm on a trip to have my family's yearly vacation.
Today's What if is brought to you by JSaria77
Be sure to check out her page and follow her.
My scenario for today is going to be both interesting and long.
This is practically part 1 of the series for this What if.
It's a strange one, but maybe it'll have an interesting outcome.
What if Robotnik had won earlier in the franchise?
I know you think the obvious is that Robotnik would just win and the world would be doomed, but I could see something different happening believe it or not.
We start our scenario at Green Hill, after Robotnik successfully defeated Sonic and knocked him into the water below with the wrecking ball.
I decided to have Sonic disposed in the water because Robotnik doesn't have a good reason to keep him if he's already dead.
After Robotnik wins, he moves onto taking over the world, with no one left to fight back.
This change causes an event I call "The Mobian Exodus".
During this, everyone who's not been robotized is on the run for their lives, trying to avoid being captured by Robotnik's forces.
For the most part, Robotnik is doing pretty well during the first year of the Mobian Exodus.
He's captured a majority of the world's animals and Mobians, and he's well organized with no one standing up to him.
He has everything at his fingertips now.
But there is one thing that will make him change his course willingly, and stop to realize what he's done.
Your obvious question is: Why would he have any kind of compassion or love in him?! He's a ruthless dictator and evil scientist!
He is now in the franchise, but he wasn't completely insane back then.
If you noticed in the games, his plans only got more dark and out of control the longer he fought Sonic.
Think about all the schemes he did against Sonic when he tried to win.
In Sonic 2 & 3, Robotnik built the Death Egg to control the world.
In Adventure 1, he released Chaos, a so called "God of Destruction" that killed the Echidna tribe years ago.
And because Robotnik freed him and gave him all the Chaos Emeralds, Chaos destroyed Station Square, probably taking a few lives with it.
In Adventure 2, he freed Shadow and threatened the world with the Eclipse Canon.
This also triggered his grandfather's program that almost made the Space Colony ARK collide with Mobius.
In Sonic Heroes, Robotnik's greatest creation, Metal Sonic, betrayed him and tried to take over the world himself as Metal Overlord.
In Sonic 06, he tried harnessing the power of Iblis to, of course, take over the world.
In Unleashed, he broke the world apart and tried using Dark Gaia's power.
In Colors, he held several planets captive so he could use the Wisp population to make a mind control ray.
In Generations, he practically tried to wipe Sonic and friends out from existence!
And finally, he tried to destroying the Resistance in Forces by using the Phantom Ruby to kill them with an illusion of the freaking Sun hitting them!
Yeah, he literally got more insane the further the fight went!
But what's different about this timeline is that he's not that crazy as he was in the original future.
He still has some humanity in him.
The original reason why he tried controlling the world was so he could use his talents in robotics to make it better and safer.
He had a passion like his grandfather, Gerald Robotnik, had for using science to make the world better.
Ivo Robotnik could've done it without taking over, if it weren't for what happened to his grandfather.
If you remember Shadow's backstory, you know the government shut down his project and killed everyone involved.
To add insult to injury, Gerald's granddaughter, Maria, was killed during the capturing of the ARK.
He was originally looking for a cure to all illnesses so he could cure Maria of hers, but now she's gone.
With everything the Robotnik family held dear gone, you can understand why Ivo had tried to take over.
Ivo knew the government wouldn't except the inventions he made so easily.
Even if they did, they would shift credit for the invention to another scientist.
Robotnik had thought that the best course of action to redeem his family was to make the world his dream by force.
We now return back to the timeline.
We're close to the exact time Sonic 2 should've happened.
Everyone is fleeing to large cities to avoid being robotized.
During the panic, a young Miles Prowler is separated from everyone.
He tries to get back with everyone, until he comes across the remains of Sonic's plane, the Tornado.
He knows a lot about engineering and other topics, so why not use the plane to escape to the big cities quicker?
He gets to work on the plane to use it.
Unknown to him, two robots are spying on him and report to Robotnik about this.
Robotnik sees what the fox is doing and is surprised.
Instead of letting his robots capture him immediately, Ivo let's Miles work on the plane, curious if he can pull it off.
He thinks that if Miles can fix the plane with limited resources, he would be a valuable ally to his cause.
A genius mind like Miles can't just go to waste, it should be used to better his Empire.
After an hour of work, Miles gets the plane done and in top shape.
Robotnik is amazed by this!
This boy is as about as smart as he is, maybe even more!
Robotnik let's his robots capture Tails and bring him to his personal lab.
When he's there, Robotnik decides he's going to do something special instead of robotizing him.
He decides to only robotize certain parts of him and put a mind control device on him so Miles can be brainwashed.
Miles is given false memories of him being Robotnik's pupil and close friend.
He has Miles work on stuff in the labs while he helps or goes out on his conquest.
By the time we've past where Sonic 2 was, Robotnik has almost won the whole world.
With nothing in his way now, will there be anything that will be in the future?
For now, I'm going to leave it here.
I'll see about continuing this again when I'm not busy.
But for now, I'll see you later!
