Third Person's POV

"We do not know what we would do when faced with an impossible situation" Aleena narrated "How much woulf we be willing to risk to save the world from chaos?" Markus narrated.

Picking up from last chapter. The flying fortress is seen afloat and ruined. Sleet and Dingo escaped using their magic carpet "Lets get out of here, Dingo. So long Robotnik!" Sleet said chukling holding the Chaos Emerald "Yes!" Dingo said.

The fortress explodes and Robotnik runs inside the ejection rocket "Abandon fortress!" Robotnik said as the rocket closes and flies out the fortress. Meanwhile the heroes get out through an inlet and get thrown in the sea.

Sonia, Manic and Knuckles float above water "Where are Sonic and Brody?" Sonia asks as Brody resurfaces and takes a deep breath, he has Sonic with his arms wrapped around Brody's neck shivering "Sorry, had to get Sonic out" Brody said "O-o-out! Brody I want out!" Sonic said shivering and Brody nodded and they all swim to an island.

*At the island*

"There's no time to argue. Robotnik's chaos emerald is still missing. We've gotta find it before whoever took it tries to use it" Knuckles said "We need the van" Manic said "No prob lo, Sonic and I know where to go" Bridy saud as he and Sonic prepare a Super Peel Out "Be back as fast as we can drive a van" Sonic said and the two peels off.

*Meanwhile with Sleet and Dingo*

"What are we gonna do now that we got the Chaos Emerald?" Dingo asks "We attack! Use the emerald's power to overthrow Robotnik and make me the ruler if Mobius!" Sleet said "Can we do that?" Dingo asks "Chaos Emerald, we can do anything!" Sleet said "You mean all it takes to become ruler of Mobius is the Chaos Emerald?" Dingo asked "For the last time, yes!" Sleet said "That's what I thought you'd say" Dingo said taking the emerald from Sleet "Huh?" Sleet asks "I'll be the ruler of Mobius! So long, Sleet!" Dingo said jumping off "Wait! The emerald!" Sleet said.

"When I'm ruler of Mobius, Sonia can be my queen!" Dingo said opening his parachute but he's pulled up by the resistance of the parachute causing him to drop the Emerald which touches the ground causing a bright green flash of light. Two shards break apart as Dingo lands.

*Meanwhile*

Sonic and Brody reach the van and notice clouds starting to cover the sky "Funny. It doesn't look like rain. Oh well" Sonic said as the twi get inside the van and Brody tryes starting it up but it fails "And not a tow-truck in sight" Brody said.

*Back with Dingo*

"Uh oh. Oh.... no! What am I gonna do?!" Dingo asks as the emerald increases energy and explodes in a brighter flash of light ehich spreads across the area. Meanwhile, Brody keeps pressing the button when the Emerald's energy reaches the van and starts it up "Whoa! Talk about a jump start!" Sonic said "Let's go!" Brody said as they take off on the van.

*Back at the campfire*

Manic was sleeping while Sonia and Knuckles walk along the sand "Oh it's so peaceful out here, you can almost forget about Butt-nik, about everything" Sonia said "I can't forget about the Chaos Emerald. We've got to find it" Knuckles said "Don't worry. We'll find it" Sonia said reassuringly "Maybe I should have stayed on the floating island. Great-Grandfather Athair warned me that something bad would happen if I left the island" Knuckles said "It's not your fault we didn't get the Chaos Emerald" Sonia said "I know, but Athair is never wrong!" Knuckles said and the two gasp when they see the Emerald's energy approach them at high speed "Energy!" Knuckles said as the energy strikes the ground and they dodge the attack but Sonia loses her footing and falls on her back as cracks form through the land and Sonia falls down but Knuckles saves her.

Manic arrives to them "Man. I'm like 'What happened?'" Manic asks "Something must have released the chaos energy inside the emerald" Knuckles said "But the emerald makes them fly" Sonia said "Yeah, man. It doesn't shake them apart like a pair of crazy maracas" Manic said "The Chaos Emerald is a source of power. You can harness it for all kinds of things, like levitating the floating island, or Robotnik's fortress. But if the energy is released without any control, the result is...." Knuckles said "Chaos?" Sonia asks "All over Mobius" Knuckles said.

*Back with Sleet*

"I'll teach that free resort Dingo to bail out on me. When I get that Chaos Emerald back, I'll-'" Sleet said as he got attacked by two trees thrown upwards by the Emeralds energy. "What Chaos!" Sleet said "Yikes! Fool Dingo must have unleashed the chaos energy trapped inside the Emerald. I'll need help if I'm gonna get that Chaos Emerald back under control, and there's only one person I know who can do that' Sleet said zooming off.

*At Robotropolis*

"My fortress of Altitude, I could have devastated all of Mobius! But now it's ruined! All my plans. All my dreams" Robotnik said "Wait till I get my hands on Sleet and Dingo. It's their fault Sonic and Brody took my Chaos Emerald!" He said when he realized something "Unless they took it! They did. I'll make those rats will wish they'd gone down with the ship!" Robotnik said.

"I gotta fix this thing, but how?" Dingo asks as he picks up both shards and clips them together and it electrocutes himself. At the same time Brody and Sonic where struggling to drive the van among all the chaos with tornados and lightning.

*Back to Robotropolis*

"Ooh, you flea-infested over-achiever! You got a lot of nerve coming back here!" Robotnik said as Sleet sits on his knees with arms behind his back. He's inbetween two swatbots. Robotnik approaches him and grabs his shoulders "Those hedgehogs and wolf didn't steal the Chaos Emerald. You did, didnt you?!" Robotnik asks "It was Dingo's idea" Sleet said "Right. Like Dingo's ever had a bright idea!" Robotnik said "Take him away and roboticize him twice!" He said "Wait! I know where Dingo is!" Sleet said "Lucky for you, we have to get that Emerald back and under control before Mobius is torn apart. But if you try to double cross me this time" Robotnik said "Never, you rotunda. I've learned my lesson" Sleet said.

*Back with the heroes*

The van parks next to the trio of Sonia, Knuckles and Manic. Brody and Sonic open the pod on top "Hey what are you doing guys?!" Sonic asks "While you guys have been relaxing on the beach, the rest of Mobius has been falling apart!" Brody said "Tell us something we don't know" Sonia said  "Oh... somebody's release the enrgy from te Chaos Emerald" Manic said "No wonder things have been so.... uh...." Sonic said "Yank?" Sonia asks "Yeah..." Sonic said "Oh no...." Knuckles said "Hey! We're not beaten yet Knuckles! Don't let Chaos get you down!" Brody said confident and the quartet summon their instruments and play a song.

*After the song*

"It's like I say. When faced with disaster, stay determined" Brody saod "You're right. We're not beaten" Knuckles said giving a thumbs up "Yes" Sonic said "There's one person who might be able to help us now: My great grandfather Athair, the ancient sage of the Echidnas" Knuckles said and the five get on the van and take off.

*At the mountains*

The van is parked next to a stairway and the heroes get out "Athair lives in a cave at the top of the mountain" Knuckles said "All the way up there? Yeah, what is it with you echidnas in height?" Manic asks as they walk up the stairs "To think I paid goof mobiums for excercise classes to do this!" Sonia said "Look on the bright side, Sonia" Brody said "After climbing these stairs, at least you'll get somewhere" Sonic said "Very funny, Sonic and Brody!" Sonia said.

During a thunderstorm, Sleet looks for Dingo when he sees the five heroes walking up the mountain "Farewell. Dingo can wait" Sleet said contacting Robotnik "Robotnik, I found the wolf and hedgehogs" Sleet said "Oh! This is turning into a good day after all" Robotnik said.

The heroes make it to the top of the stairway "Oh man. I think Athair could've really used an elevator" Manic said panting "He's a hermit. He doesn't have many visitors" Knuckles said "No suprise there" Manic said scoffing as they soon arrive at a cave. At the end of it is Athair, who is facing away "Great-Grandfather Athair. There's been a terrible..." Knuckles said "The Chaos Emerald has been broken. I can feel the chaos swirling around us tearing Mobius apart" Athair said picking up a canister and shows it to Knuckles "Take this, place the pieces of the emerald inside the canister" Athair said "And then what?" Sonic asks annoyed "That is the only one way to stop the chaos from destroying Mobius. You must make an alliance....with Robotnik" Athair said looking at them "Oh no, Robotnik?!" Sonic asks "Oh seriously bad news, dude" Manic said "Are you serious? Chaos is bad enough but Robotnik? Oh we're talking trouble" Brody said "It is the only way" Athair said "But Robotnik? Knuckles, he can't be right" Sonic said "Athair has spoken" Knuckles said holding the canister.

*Outside the cave*

The heroes walk back to their van "I'm with Sonic and Brody. No way I trust Buttnik round that Chaos Emerald" Manic said "Sonia?" Knuckles asks "Well, maybe, maybe Athair's wrong? Even wise men make mistakes" Sonia said "Looks like I'm outvoted" Knuckles said "Don't worry, Knuckles. It'll be cool. We just gotta find that juice" Sonic said as the Van's door opens and Sleet is seen inside "Going somewhere?" Sleet asks "Sleet?" Sonic asks as swatbots approaches them "I've got you this time!" Sleet said and Brody presses the button that closes the door, locking Sleet in. Knuckles spin and dogs a hole as the swatbots load their guns "In here!" Knuckles said as the swatbots start shooting. Sonic and Brody jump in the hole, Sonia jumps in after and Manic dives in last.

"Get me out! Let me out!" Sleet said banging the Van's door and it opens making Sleet fall flat on the ground and catches up to the swatbots "Lost 'em!" Sleet said as a hole has been sug next to the van and Manic jumps out going inside the van "Argh! They're getting away!" Sleet said spotting the heroes and the swatbots shoot as Sonic, Sonia and Brody make it inside the van "Let's haul!" Manic said driving away and the Sonic Underground celebrate and laugh but Sonia realizes Knuckles is missing "Hey, where's Knuckles?" Sonia asks as she, Sonic and Brody look aroynd "He was right behind me" Brody said.

*Meanwhile with Sleet*

"Out of my way!" Sleet said pushing the swatbots over and gasps "You?" Sleet asks shocked as he sees Knuckles still holding the canister "But what are you doing here?" Sleet asks "I need Robotnik's help to find the Chaos  Emerald and save Mobius. Take this to Robotnik" Knuckles said showing the canister to Sleet.
