Third Person's POV

"Behind the mask of our everyday faces are secret fears and ambitions we try to hide from others" Aleena narrated "It takes courage to come out from behind the mask and let the world see who we really are" Markus narrated.

"Dude this place gives me the creeps!" Manic said "Yeah, especially since it's nice everywhere else" Sonia said "You gotta hand it to Buttnik he knows how to set a mood" Brody said "Come on! If Mom and Brody's dad were imprisioned here, the records might hold a clue to where they went!" Sonic said and the four head to the building.

"Now what do we do?" Sonia asks "Oh why?" They hear a guy from inside "Why have I been so unjustly imprisioned? Unmask my face and let me look upon... uh... freedom, precious freedom again!" He said "Huh?" Manic asks "Who is that? A prisoner?" Sonia asks "The big question is why a prisoner?" Sonic asks "Yeah! Buttnik usually just roboticizes them" Brody said "Let me ouuuuuuuuut!" The guy said "There's something familiar about that voice" Sonia said "Yeah, sounds like Sonic's off-key singing" Manic said "Very funny. Now maybe we can find some answers once we finally get inside!" Sonic said as they bursts into the tower.

The four enter a room with a computer that was actually Dingo morphed "Hmmm.... Brody, can you hack this hardware?" Sonic asks and Brody nodded and started hacking when they hear Dingo giggle "Dingo!" Sonic said "You're expecting maybe the key to the city?" Sleet asks morphing Dingo back to normal "Get them!" He said and Brody trips Dingo and Sonic grabs a tape reel and ties Dingo with it and Sleet goes get swatbots "Where's the records about our parents?" Sonic asks "There aren't any. The tip was a fake. Part of the trap!" Dingo said "And the prisoner in the tower what did he do?" Sonia asks "Nothing. Robotnik didn't roboticize him because he's important, but but nobody knows who he is!" Dingo said and Sonia gasps "That's terrible!" Sonia said "There!" Sleet said coming back with swatbots "Last one across the moat's a Buttnik prisoner!" Sonic said and the four run away.

"The... the wolf and hedgehogs got away" Sleet said "Of course they did. I planned that" Robotnik said "Yes, of course you did! Great idea, Robotnik" Sleet said "Can it, Sleet!" Robotnik said "I'll tell them the stuff you said to tell him, Robotnik sir!" Dingo said "Excellent. I have a plan we can use to eliminate them permanently!" Robotnik said laughing.

The heroes went to a town asking for who was locked up in the tower but no one knew so they decided to get him out anyways so they head back.

"Oh woe is me! Will I never be free?" The guy asks "huh?" Sonic asks as they arrived to his cell "Help me! Free me!" He said "Stand back!" Sonic said as he and Brody break the door down and find the guy "We're gonna have company!" Manic said as swatbots head towards them "Leave me! Save yourselves!" The guy said  "Not without you!" Sonic said as they take out the swatbots and escape from Sleet and Dingo taking off in the van.

"Congratulations, my man! You have just experienced a righteous Resistance rescue. Now let's bust your noggin outta that loser headgear! It'll only take a sec" Manic said "No, don't! The mask, it's.... booby-trapped. If you unlock it.... BOOM!" The guy said "so who are you anyway?" Sonic asks "And why's Buttnik got you wearing that metal bonnet? It doesn't do a thing for you!" Sonia said "You'll pardon my weariness, but.... who are you?" The guy asks "Hey, you are looking at the Sonic Underground!" Manic said "Manic, Sonia, Brody, and me, Sonic!" Sonic said "We're the children of Mobius rightful rulers, Queen Aleena and King Markus and the guy gasps "Can it really be you? I can't believe it - why, I haven't seen you since you were little hedgehoglets and wolflet!" The guy said making the quartet to look curious "Clarifications is in order, man!" Manic said "I couldn't expect you to remember me. But I.... am your uncle. Queen Aleena's twin brother!" The guy said and Sonkc stops the van and they head out.

"Ah, the fresh air of freedom!" The guy said "You think he could really be Mom's brother?" Sonic asks "Well his voice does sound familiar..." Sonia said "Besides why else would Buttnik have him in the clink?" Manic asks and the guy walks over to them "I managed to conceal these from Robotnik in the hopes that some day I could bestow them upon you" he said giving them rings "They bear the royal family crest. Wear them, always!" He said and the four put the rings on their fingers "I don't get it. Why the mask? And how come we've never heard of you before?" Brody asks "it's the law! There can only be one ruler of Mobius. I was forced into exile, and then when your mother vanished, Robotnik imprisoned me, afraid that I would claim the throne!" The guy said "Aw, bummer! Major drawback to royalty" Manic said "Don't worry, bro. When Brody and I are rulers, you won't have to vanish!" Sonic said "You two? Hah! A ruler needs some culture and sophistication. You can't serve chili dogs at a royal banquet! Besides, I will never wear a mask. Talk about a clashing accessory!"  Sonia said "Hey, I'm the true representative lf the people!" Manic said "Hey! I don't recall saying you were the leader" Sonia said "Oh, like miss perfect doesn't think she's queen already" Manic said sarcastically "Youve got to admit, I look best in a crown!" Sonia said "I'm saying that once Brody and I are rulers, I'm sure we can work something out for you two" Sonic said "Hmph. Frankly, I don't think any of you three are up to the royal job" Sonia said "Oh yeah?!" Sonic, Manic and Brody ask "Yeah!" Sonia said "Look out! More of Robotnik's troops!" The guy said as they all look up seeing swatbots "Hit it, sibs!" Sonic said and they all get on the van and drive off but the swatbots don't follow them.

"Just because I've lived on the streets all my life doesn't mean I can't handle the crown!" Manic said mad, unaware that the guy's mask actually acted as a camera for Robotnik to see "You? I'd look much better in a crown! Diamonds go with my eyes" Sonia said "Ah, yes! Already the break-up has started, just as I planned. And all it needs is one more little... push" Robotnik said pushing a button that dropped some oil ahead of them on the road "Give it more gas!" Manic said as Sonic drives and the van slips on the oil crashing "If you were to steer Mobius the way you steer the van, then we'd all be on the road to disaster!" Sonia said "Yeah, well if you become ruler, I'll vanish on purpose!" Sonic said "Just so I don't have to listen to you!" Sonic said "Well if that's how you feel, then I'll just leave! Go off by myself" Sonia said "oh yeah?" Brody asks "This hedgehog and wolf never needed anyone before and they don't now" Sonic said as he and Brody walk off and Sonia walks in another direction "as of now, the Sonic Underground is through! We each go our own way, and may the best ruler win" Sonic said "Fine!" Sonia said "Let there be the rule of cool!" Manic said "Mind if I accompany you?" The guy named Luke said "Hike along, Unc" Manic said as they walk off and Robotnik laughs watching this unfold.

"So much has changed since I was imprisoned! Where are we going?" Luke asks "No offense, but if you wann stop attracting swatbot attention, we gotta get that mask off yor mug, dude! And as it happens, I know this stoking secret locksmith who can deactivate any booby trap!" Manic said walking in a village and gasps seeing a door that was Dingo morphed "What's wrong?" Luke asks "This was not here before!" Manic said and Dingo grabs Manic's wrist "Hey! Dingo!" Manic said and Sleet morphs Dingo back to normal grabbing Manic "Run Unc!" Manic said "Oh, I shall!" Luke said.

Luke went to Sonia lying about Manic and got her captured by Dingo and the same happened to Sonic and Brody taking them to the tower.

"Whoa...." Brody said waking up "have we got a Sonic-sized headache!" Sonic said "We've got worse troubles than that" Sonia said as they see they are in a cell "Imagine us getting sucked into Buttnik's plan like that" Manic said "He was trying to split us up!" Sonia said "And it worked, too! Thanks to-" Brody said when Dingo tossed Luke in their cell and dropped the mask next to him closing the door "Hey... that's no uncle, that's Luke Periwinkle! The actor! I used to see all of his movies!" Sonia said "Always gratifying to meet a fan" Luke said "I always thought he was a ham..." Sonic said "Huh? I beg your pardon?!" Luke asks "The mask! It's booby-trapped!" Manic said "It won't explode, it was just a surveillance camera. Robotnik forced me to play this role to trick you! He said he'd roboticize me if I didn't do it. But after he caught you, he imprisoned me anyway" Luke said kicking the helmet to the door and it explodes "Whoa!" He said "Whoa! It was booby trapped!" Manic said "You mean.... my head? Boom?" Luke asks and faints "Now's our chance. Manic! Can you shed these shackles?" Brody asks and Manic frees them and get out their cell.

The four make up and work together to tale out some swatbots as they escape and take down Sleet and Dingo  who where in their ship making them crash and they all head out.

"Now that I'm free, I'm giving up acting. I'm going to join the resistance!" Luke said "You do that guy" Manic said "I hate to say it, but I guess we learned a lesson" Sonia said "Yeah! If we ever rule, we do it together!" Brody said "But first we gotta get the van outta the ditch where Sonic crashed it" Manic said "Me? Now wait a Sonic second!" Sonic said "Well, you were driving!" Sonia said "Yeah but you were supposed to be watching the road" Sonic said as they all walk away as this chapter comes to an end.
