Third Person's POV

"Following their quest, our children continued to learn one lesson" Aleena narrated "That things are not always what they seem" Markus narrated.

"Hang loose, Sonia, it's just a rumor!" Manic said as the four heroes were on a ship heading to a floating island "Duh! But what if Mother and Brody's Father really is here?" Sonia asks "They'd better be! Sonic and I missed the opening of a new chili dog stand for this" Brody said as thr ship landed and the four walk out "This is the dreaded Floating Island? Ooooh, I'm so scared" Sonic said rolling his eyes "Sonic! Remember what the Oracle said. The Floating Islanf is fraught with danger. Beware the echidna" Sonia said "Fraught? What kind of stupid word is that?!" Sonic asks "Fraught means 'filled' as in 'filled with danger' " Sonia said "What danger?" Brody asks "If you're so fraught, Brody and I'll check this place out" Sonic said "SONIC AND BRODY!" Sonia said as Brody and Sonic run off, "Aaarghhh!" Brody and Sonic said making Sonia and Manic gasp going over to them seeing the duo in a trap "Just hangin' out, dudes?" Manic asks "Like I said... fraught with danger" Sonia said "Danger?" Sonic asks "You mean this nifty hammock?" Brody asks "We'll call this Echidna 1, Hedgehog and Wolf 0" Manic said.

*Meanwhile at Robotnik's Fortress*

"Answer me, you fools! Sleet! Dingo!" Robotnik said as Sleet and Dingo where in the floating island as well and after sometime Sleet got the communicator from Dingo "About time. Where were you?" Robotnik asks "Uh, er..." Sleet said "Silence! Apparently the hedgehogs and wolf believe the rumors. Intelligence reports they're on the way. You know the plan. Turn the echidna against the wolf and hedgehogs and get me the Chaos Emerald" Robotnik said "And when we take the Emerald, the island will plummet down and crash!" Sleet said "And the wolf and hedgehogs will fall with it!" Robotnik said laughing and Sleet snickers "Brilliant plan, sir. We are on our way. Sleet out" Sleet said switching off the communicator screen "Put that in your backpack and let's go find the echidna" Sleet said "Er, what's an echidna?" Dingo asks "Not 'what', you dolt! 'Who'. It's who guards this island. His name is Knuckles, and he's in for a big Robotnik suprise. He's tough and he's especially known for his-" Sleet said as the two fall in a trap "TRAAAAAAPS!" Sleet said as they fall down.

"You wolf-faces should have stayed home. Now you get to be dinner!" Knuckles said having Sleet and Dingo tied to a rotisserie "You- you're gonna eat us?!" Dingo asks "No" Knuckles said "Oh, phew!" Dingo said "Good" Sleet said and Knuckles whistles as a dinosaur walks over to Knuckles scaring Sleet and Dingo "But Chomps will" Knuckles said "You've got us all wrong, Mr. Knuckles. We are your friends!" Sleet said "Of course! All my friends sneak onto my island. I don't think so!" Knuckles said "No, you don't understand! We're here to stop the real invaders! Three hedgehogs and one wolf! I can prove it!" Sleet said "How?" Knuckles asks "Look in my pocket" Sleet said and Knuckles picks up a remote "Press that button" Sleet said "Er, Sleet-" Dingo said "Shut up! The red button" Sleet said and Knuckles presses it and it shows a hologram of the heroes "Gotta cruise, dudes!" Brody said "We gotta find that Chaos Emerald before that dopey defender Knuckles gets us!" Sonic said "You are not often right, older brother, but on this occasion I agree. Come Manic!" Sonia said "We are more clever than that dumb Knuckles guy!" Manic said "M-Mr. Knuckles, we're getting a little warm here, if you don't mind, eh..." Sleet said as Knuckles turned the remote off "Those hedgehogs and wolf want the Emerald, do they? Well, they'll have to get past me! All right, you wolf-faces are free to go-this time. But you must leave the island now!" Knuckles said releasing Sleet and Dingo "An amiable deal, my friend. We'll be off the island faster than you can say Sonic the hedgehog and Brody the wolf" Sleet said "Sorry, Chomps. But cheer up! I hear hedgehogs and wolf have just come into season..." Knuckles said running off and Sleet and Dingo run away from Chomps who ends up eating the remote and sees the hologram rewinding revealing it's fake.

*Back with the heroes*

"I'm getting a feeling, like there's something close by" Sonia said "Oh, big whoop! We're following your feelings around?" Sonic asks "Boy it just doesn't get any better than this" Brody said "Hey guys! Look at this! A sacred pool. I've read about these!^ Sonia said as the boys walk over to her and Sonia gasps when the pool sprays water up "Whoa, we're talking some serious special effects!" Sonic said "I can't believe it really exists!" Sonia said and Manic tryes to touch it "Manic, don't!" Sonia said "What?" Manic asks "I see something forming" Sonia said and the pool forms a vision  of Markus and Aleena running through the island "Mom!" Manic said "They're here! I knew it!" Sonia said "Wow, it's them!" Brody said "Wow, looks like you were right Sonia!" Sonic said "You're saying I'm right? Manic, Brody you guys are witnesses" Sonia said and the four gasps as the ground cracks open as Knuckles bursts out "What's happening? Whoa, dude! You nailed that landing. I give it a 10!" Manic said "Wolf and Hedgehog thieves!" Knuckles said as Brody coughs "Not exactly the welcome mat we expected" Brody said and Sonia coughs "Look at this! Youd better have a real good dry-cleaners on this rock!" Sonia said taking dirt off her clothes "You came here to steal the Emerald, but I'll stop you!" Knuckles said "Chill fella, we're not thieves!" Sonic said and looks at Manic then back at Knuckles "Well, mostly we're not. Anyway...." Sonic said and Knuckles growls swinging his fist fast making it go in a blur and knocks Sonic onto a tree "Oof! Nice to meet you too" Sonic said jokingly "I hate thieves!" Knuckles said "Sonic! Are you all right?" Sonia asks.

"Okay, knuckle-boy. If that's the way you wanna play it, let's get basic!" Brody said "Brody, wait! Maybe we can reason with him" Sonia said "Good idea, Sonia.....NOT! Here's a taste of the Super Brody Triple Spin, pal!" Brody said and spindashes at Knuckles clashing with him and his attack ends up knocking the two back "Whoaaaa!" Brody and Knuckles said, Brody lands and a few sticks fell on him  next to the hedgehogs "You guys can jump in any time, y'know" Brody said "Ah, we knew you had it covered" Manic said "This time, we're gonna reason with him! Where'd he go?" Sonia asks "Guess Super Spin was a little too much for him" Sonic said helping Brody stand up and the four see Knuckles dashing at them "I would bet...not!" Manic said as they move out of the way "Listen, echidna guy! We aren't here to steal anything! We're here to find Queen Aleena and King Markus!" Sonia said as Knuckles dives underground Whoa maybe that worked!" Manic said "Hey sis, what are your feelings telling you now?" Sonic asks "Er.... that we'd better LEAVE!" Sonia said as they jump out of the way as Knuckles rises from the ground "You're lying!" Knuckles said "I'll handle this" Brody said "Sure! Why not? You've done such a superb job so far" Sonia said sarcastically "He just needs his pair" Sonic said as he and Brody spin Knuckles around "Whooaa!" Knuckles said "One more time!" Brody and Sonic said spinning at Knuckles but he burrows into the ground "Come back and fight, Knuckle-butt!" Sonic said "Lying hedgehogs and wolf! Thieves!" Knuckles said rising behind Sonia and Manic "Okay. I've had enough" Sonia said summoning her instruments and shoots behind her missing Knuckles as he cuts a rope making Sonia and Manic fall down a trap "Hng on guys!" Brody said "Here we-" Sonic said as they fall in a trap too "Goodbye hedgehogs and wolf!" Knuckles said, as Sonic and Brody fall Brody digs his claws on the dirt and with his free hand grabs Sonic's hand as he stops their fall "Whoa quick thinking love" Sonic said and closes the hatch they where gonna fall into and the two land on it "Thanks Sonic" Brody said "You're toast now, knuckle-head!" Sonic said and the two spin back up.

"That echidna is even dumber than you, Dingo" Sleet said "Thank you!" Digo said "Then again maybe not. I bet those hedgehogs and wolf are history by now!" Sleet said cackling and they find a river "Come on! We have to go down that river to get the emerald" Sleet said morphing Dingo into a rowboat.

"This doesn't look promising" Sonia said shooting up to no avail "Guess we'll have to wait for Sonic and Brody" Manic said "Guess again!" Sonia said aiming at a door. Meanwhile with the duo back on the island "This is the place!" Brody said as the two look at the pit "Whoa. Helloooooo? Here goes nothin'..." Sonic said "Hedgehog and Wolf?" Knuckles asks and they look at him as he cracks his knuckles "That's gotta hurt" Sonic said as Knuckles charges at them and the duo dodges "Whoa, take a chill pill dude! You're way too excited" Brody said "Obviously you haven't heard about the famous wolf and hedgehog's speed. All right take your best shot!" Sonic said as the two spindashes away and Knuckles chases after them while Sonia and Manic were able to kick down the door, Sonic and Brody evaded many of Knuckles' traps "come on. You can do better than that, knuckle-brain!" Sonic said "We're not done yet, pal. You're taking us to Sonia and Manc!" Brody said.

*Meanwhile*

"Rippling glow!" Manic said as he and Sonia walked through the cavern "Are you kidding? This light does nothing for my complexion" Sonia said and sees the river "Oh, how beautiful!" She said "Yeah....." Manic said and the two gasp when they hear growling as Chomps approaches them and the video plays from his stomach showig the hologram to them and chomps then rolls on his back rubbign his stomach in pain "Now there's something you don't see every day!" Sonia said.

Knuckles stands on a bridge with big gaps on it as Sonic and Brody stop "Hmmm, that forst step's a real trip" Brody said as the two start to walk slowly on the bridge "Hey hedgehog! Wolf! Can you two fly?" Knuckles asks "Huh?" Sonic and Brody asks as Knuckles cracks the bridge as the two run back and bearly get on the island "No!" Knuckles said as Brody and Sonic spin underground and rise below knuckles pushing him back "That wasn't very nice" Brody said "Ah, aahhh!" Knuckles said balancing in the edge and before Knuckles falls off te island Sonic and Brody catch him and pull him back up "Why did you two save me?" Knuckles asks "Let's talk bud" Sonic and Brody said.

*Back with Sonia and Manic*

"There there, we'll fix it!" Sonia said comforting chomps as Manic gets him to spit out the remote and it breaks on fall and Chomps gets up and licks Manic happily "Yuck, thanks..." Manic said  and the two got to ask Chomps where he got it with nods as he nods a yes when they mention Sleet and Dingo and Chomps takes them to Sleet and Dingo but Sleet and Dingo were where the emerald was already.

"Then the wolf-faces left the floating island" Knuckles said "Left? Hard to believe, Knuck." Sonic said "They're always after something." Brody said "THE EMERALD!" Knuckles said and uses his magic to make the Sacred pool show them Sleet and Dingo grabbing the emerald "Noooo!" Knuckles said as the island starts to fall "Whoa!  Why are we floating?!" Sonic asks "You're not floating, the island is falling!" Knuckles said as Sleet and Dingo run away from Sonia and Manic getting to their ship.

Sonia warns them that Sleet and Dingo are going to their ship and Dingo trips dropping the emerald down the hill and Sleet sends out swatbots after the emerald and the two fly off in their ship and the heroes  go after the emerald as Knuckles digs underground.

Thanks to their help they destroyed the Swatbot and send Dingo and Sleet away, Brody gave Knuckles the emerald and he digs underground returning the emerald to it's place stopping the island from falling.

*Later*

"This is krupnik, an echidna delicacy. It's good! Go ahead, eat up!" Knuckles said giving a piece to Brody "Ahh, thanks Knux" Brody said putting his plate beside him and Chomps eats it "So why did you come to Floating Island?" Knuckles asks "To find our Mom and Brody's dad, Queen Aleena and King Markus" Manic said "Queen Aleena is your mom? And King Markus is your dad? Why didn't you say so? I knew them! They were here when I was just a kid!" Knuckles said and guided them to a cavern "They left tis for you all" Knuckles said pointing to a writing on the walk "In the final days of Robotnik's tyranny..." Sonia started.

"....allies will unite with our children" Aleena narrated "First among then will be Knuckles guardian of the chaos emerald" Markus narrated as this chapter comes to an end.
