In the dark stormy night over the ocean stood before was a GUN building called Prison Island, where it's taking place in Tokyo Bay, Japan. Inside, a G.U.N agent holding a tablet walks through the halls, past two soldiers holding guns as they stand guard. the door opens as he marches through. He walks up to a control panel where another agent, Kyle, watches something through the glass while eating a doughnut.

"Alright! You got donuts." he said, putting down the tablet and going to reach over it to grab a bite.

"I already ate all the ones with cream."

This made the GUN Soldier stopped and looked at him in disbelief and a little mad.

"Kyle!"

Kyle just shrugged while eating a donut before looking back through the glass where there's a glowing red capsule where a black and red hedgehog named Shadow is held inside. His eyes are closed as he floats in the water, unmoving. The GUN Soldier grimaces at the sight of it.

"This place gives me the creeps." he said.

"Relax." Kyle rolled his eyes. "That popsicle hasn't moved in 50 years."

Bubbles starts appearing as Shadow appears to have a flashback, remembering those soft, gentle hands playing a guitar beautifully as they play the song "Live & Learn". His expression softens as he sees his own hand holding someone else's hand as it reveals a 12 year old human girl. He remembers sitting in a field full of flowers in the night where the moon is above them as they overlook the view of the mountains peacefully.

Though his expression suddenly changes to grimace and pain as he remembers running in the hallways with the little girl, holding her hand tightly with the GUN Soldiers chasing after them from behind. Though their hands slipped as her hand was out of his reach. He tried to reach back to her only to be back in present as he had his hand extended from where he was about to take back the little girl's hand.

His closed eyes narrowed as he gets angry. The heart monitor begins to move up and down with a loud beep, alarming Kyle and the GUN Soldier.

"Is that normal?"

Kyle checked on the monitor.

"No."

He moved his wheeling chair over as he begins typing and the digital computer shows a glitched screen, reading "Access Denied" before it reveals a red Eggman logo

"Someone's hacking the system."

"What?"

"The containment tank is destabilizing. He's waking up." Kyle said.

The Agent looks shocked from what he has just heard. Kyle then gets up, and the Agent dashes to a wall and presses a red emergency button. Across the island, searchlights turn on as alarms wail loudly. G.U.N soldiers grab their guns and head down the hallways and into the containment room. Numerous soldiers head down the staircase and point their guns at the containment tank. On the monitor, Shadow's heartbeat increases. Everyone watches as Shadow then moves around in the tank. Then, on the monitor, his heartbeat stops. His expression turns calm again. One of the soldiers sighs in relief.

With one big bubble in the capsule, Shadow opens his eyes and narrows as they glow orange before punching the glass out, causing the water to spill out of the capsule along with shards of the glass. Puff of smokes comes out and sparks of electric goes off. The GUN Soldiers shields themselves from the massive impact he caused. Shadow steps out of the now broken capsule, his body all soaked and wet. He scowls at the GUN Soldiers, clenching his fists as his eyes glows orange again before disappearing in the blink of an eye with some orange electric bolts in the air for a second.

The GUN Soldier's eyes narrow in confusion for a second until Shadow appears next to him above in the air and kicks him in the face, sending him flying to the ground before Shadow disappears. The rest of the GUN Soldiers look around for any sight of him frantically until Shadow appears again and starts kicking and punching at every teleportation he went to take down each of the soldiers one by one. Once all of them are down, one of the last soldiers look around frantically as he kept pointing his gun at every direction he might appear until he heard a teleportation sound coming from behind. He slowly turned around in horror until he was uppercut by Shadow and went flying into the glass where the leader of the GUN agent and Kyle are standing, creating a crack which scared the two.

"We need more guys." Kyle suggested.

"That is all the guys."

The last soldier slid down from the wall he was crashed into before falling to the ground. Shadow then breaks down the wall as he walks out and sees the Tokyo City ahead. He teleports to the ocean and starts speeding across it with his air shoes through the torrential waves as he escapes Prison Island, heading straight to the city.
