Meanwhile, Sonic woke up later with a groan, getting up.

"1.21 gigawatts."

As he was about to move, he felt a tug on his wrist and looked over to see he was handcuffed to the rail with the titanium handcuffs he was about to use on Shadow, but now it's used on himself instead.

"Oh, you gotta be kidding me!" he groaned in annoyance, struggling out of the handcuffs.

"Sonic!" Tails called out.

Sonic looked up to see Tails flying over to him, holding Knuckles before the two landed in front of him.

"Are you okay?" Tails ran over to him to help him out of the handcuffs.

"I'm fine, guys." Sonic assured them. "And before you ask, I handcuffed myself for tactical reasons I do not have time to explain."

Tails frowned at Sonic disapprovingly.

"You shouldn't have gone off on your own." he said before removing the handcuff from Sonic's wrist. "We're supposed to be a team."

"Sorry, buddy. Still working on that teamwork thing." Sonic said in understanding before standing up.

"Where's Gwen?" Knuckles wondered, looking around for her.

"Wait, wait! She's not here? She was with me when we were fighting him." Sonic said, feeling worried.

"Where would she be?" Tails wondered.

Suddenly, they heard explosions and looked down to see red and orange clashing with each other before bouncing off. They immediately recognized that red color.

"Gwen!!"

Tails grabbed Sonic and flew off the building with Knuckles jumping off and gliding down to get into the battlefield. Back to Gwen and Shadow as they kept fighting until Shadow had enough of their "dance".

"I believe that we're done here." he said, looking up at the flying trio.

Shadow teleported behind her. Before she could act, he karate-chopped her neck, knocking her out. Shadow caught her before she could fall and carried her over his shoulder.

"You're coming with me."

Sonic and Tails gasped as they saw what he was doing. Tails immediately spin Sonic around and throw him down onto the street. Sonic started speeding up after his sister.

"Sis!! No!!"

Knuckles noticed it as well and got angry and quickly landed on the street.

"No, no!!" he charged towards Shadow and Gwen at speed.

Shadow glares at them.

"She's under my protection now."

He then disappeared with Gwen before Sonic and Knuckles could get them.

"No..." Sonic said in horror.

Knuckles punched down on the street in frustration and anger while Tails is horrified that Gwen is kidnapped.

"Now what?" Knuckles demanded angrily.

"Well, I'm not jumping out of any more helicopters until we get some answers from GUN. Especially on why that "Shadow" guy took my sister." Sonic said, feeling determined to find her as soon as possible. "We need somewhere to regroup."

Tails put a thoughtful look for a moment before smiling in realization.

"I know just the place!"

Before they knew it, they're hanging out in a Japanese Chao-themed restaurant called the Chao Garden. Chao Mascots are roaming around, dancing and being adorable.

"はい、チーズです。(Yes, cheese.)" a female Japanese waitress said before flashing a camera at confused Knuckles Sonic, and Tails, who threw two peace signs, with three Chao mascots behind them.

"Ahh!! It's an ambush! You'll never take us alive, foul beasts!" Knuckles screamed, bringing up his fists to fight the Chao mascots, who walked away.

"Calm down, Knuckles." Tails assured him. "This is a Chao Garden. One of the top ten must see spots in all of Tokyo. It's a perfect place for us to blend in!"

Two little girls come up to Tails as they're the same age as him.

"Are you Detective Pikachu?" one of the girls asked.

"Yes, he is!" Sonic pointed at Tails with a hint of a lie.

This made Knuckles laugh, banging his fists softly on the table, and pointing at Tails.

"He does look like a Pokemon!"

Tails looks at him unamused as Knuckles makes a Pikachu gesture.

"Pika-Pika!! Ha!"

The girls then walked away as Sonic saw someone approaching their table and recognized them.

"Commander Walters."

Commander Walters took a seat with them at the table.

"Sonic. Thank God, you're all okay. And I'm so very sorry about Gwen. I'm sure you have questions."

"Just a big takeoff to the red and black one, who was that guy, and why did he capture my sister?" Sonic said as he's angry about Gwen's capture again.

"Shadow's story began a lot like you and your sister when you two found family and friends on this planet, Shadow only found pain and loss." Commander Walter said as he explained the whole story of Shadow.

~ FLASHBACK ~

In Oklahoma, where a bewildered farmer steps out of his car to find a meteorite in a smoldering crater.

"It begins over 50 years ago with a meteor crash in a quiet corner of Oklahoma."

In a GUN base, the meteorite is lowered down into a bubbling container.

"The meteorite contained a lifeform. The ultimate lifeform."

A pair of glowing eyes peek out from the rock. After being out from the rock, Shadow is surging in chaos energy as he runs around a big room with the scientists watching and studying him.

"Shadow's power, his chaos energy, went far beyond any living creature. The scientists who discovered him believe this power would usher in a new era for humanity. But Shadow's power proved too dangerous."

Suddenly, there's an explosion outside the base.

"A terrible accident destroyed the lab, taking human lives with it."

GUN agents drag out the project leader, Gerald Robotnik, who is holding a quill of Shadow.

"The project leader was blamed for the incident and imprisoned."

Shadow is zapped by electric batons, and he stumbles back into a cage. He watches the burning base sadly.

"With the program canceled, Shadow was a loose end no one knew how to deal with."

Shadow is banging on the container as he's imprisoned and the water started rising to fill up the container while being lowered.

"Too dangerous to be walking free. Too valuable to destroy. So, I had him placed into stasis."

Water rises up from below him. The hedgehog turns to Walters, who watches. He gives the man one last look of anger before he's contained forever.

"Indefinitely."

~ FLASHBACK ENDS ~

Fades from the young Walters to his old present-day self.

"The story makes sense but that still doesn't explain why Shadow kidnapped my sister." Sonic spoke out.

"Yeah. What does he want with her?" Knuckles demanded.

"Shadow must have a reason he captured your sister because Gwen reminds him of the little girl who was once his friend who loved roller skates and who looked a lot like her as they're both alike," Walter explained the reason, remembering seeing Gwen one time and had a recognition with her.

Sonic and Knuckles' expression softened at such new information.

"He had a friend?" Sonic asked.

"Yes... And my only regret is not being able to save her... and him..." Walter said with guilt.

"Okay, but wait a second. If Shadow's been on ice for 50 years, someone had to help him escape." Sonic pointed out.

"True." Walters agreed. "But there's only a few people in the world who even know of Shadow's existence."

Suddenly, the lights dim out. Everybody looks around in confusion. Then, a spotlight shines on stage with the Chao mascots dancing to a Japanese cover of Jackson 5's Want You Back.

"A light show?! Yeah!" Tails said excited and cheered along the crowd.

The three Mobians seem enthused, while Walters rests his head in his hand in annoyance. However, they don't notice the egg drones floating down outside the window. They power up and prepare to fire missiles at the heroes. Sonic turns around and notices.

"Get down!" Sonic yelled.

The three get down as the missiles hit, destroying the Garden and flinging Walters away, chair and all. The customers and mascots scream and run away in fear.

"Egg drones?" Sonic questioned in shock.

"But Robotnik is supposed to be dead!" Tails added.

Until the mysterious person on the motorcycle broke through the window. The Egg Drone fired the missile at the mysterious person but it ducked as it exploded from behind.

"Konnichi-what??" Sonic questioned.

The mysterious biker actives his gadgets from his wrists as they glow purple and then drives towards them, bringing it up for him to drive only one wheel before shooting at the Egg Drones. The mysterious biker then moved the motorcycle back down and then pressed the buttons, causing the drones to be electrocuted before shutting down as they crashed onto the ground.

"I'm sorry. We already had our big motorcycle chase for the evening." Sonic said.

The mysterious biker drives away through the window again. Team sonic runs to Commander Walters as he is crushed by boulders.

"Commander Walters!" Sonic called in distraught.

Knuckles moves the table aside to find Walters, critically injured from the attack.

"Commander Walters, are you okay?"

"Sonic..." Walter said weakly as he grabbed something from his pocket. "Take this." he handed a keycard to Sonic as Sonic took it.

"What is it?" Sonic questioned.

"A key... to the most powerful weapon GUN has ever built. You're the only one I trusted to keep it safe. Tell Gwen... that she's only one who can help Shadow..." Walters answered before passing away from his wounds.

"Commander Walters..." Sonic said sadly.

Sonic gasped as he heard the GUN coming. GUN soldiers head inside the ruined cafe.

"Secure the perimeter!"

Director Rockwell came as she saw Walters' dead body and checked the pockets of his suit to search for clues.

"His launch key is missing," Rockwell said, only to find a picture of Team Sonic whose photo was taken at the party. Seeing this, she believes Team Sonic is behind the attack. "I knew they couldn't be trusted."

She then crumbled up the picture in anger.

Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles ran out of the restaurant with the mascot heads on their heads. Sonic stopped and Tails and Knuckles bumped into each other.

"Why are we running from GUN? Aren't we on the same team?" Tails questioned as they took off the mascot's heads.

"Until we get more information, we're not trusting anyone. Follow me." Sonic answered.

The three follow the mysterious biker to a pier.

"Hold it right there, Tokyo Drift! Who are you?" Sonic demanded.

The team was in defense position ready to fight but the biker remove his helmet to reveal he's... Agent Stone!

"It's the goat milker!" Knuckles gasped and pointed at him.

"It's the goat milker!" Stone mocked Knuckles before speaking normally. "Relax. I'm not here to fight"

"Then why are you here?" Sonic questioned angrily.

"And why did you free Shadow?" Tails added.

"And also why did Shadow kidnap my sister?" Sonic questioned more.

"Are you kidding? The last thing we wanted is more superpowered hedgehogs running around. The doctor had nothing to do with it, or your sister. I can prove it." Stone said.

He grabbed the control and pressed the button to see two giant claws crawl out from the water and go on the bridge to reveal a giant egg crab robot. Team Sonic was surprised as they backed away a bit.

"Please, join me in the Crab." Stone said.

Inside the giant egg crab robot, the lair looks very messy with all the junk foods scattered and someone is watching a telenovela, La Úitima Pasión, on TV and someone is Dr. Robotnik is back but he looks awful as he has grown hair from his head, and his mustache has grown longer and all fat. He's wearing a white tank top with a red jacket.

"And now back to La Úitima Pasión."

A woman walks up.

"I have fallen in love with another."

A man gets up from his seat in disbelief.

"But who, Gabriella? Tell me! Who?"

Another man in black shirt gets out of the closet with a rose in his mouth in a dramatic pose.

"My twin brother, Pablo?!"

Pablo removes his fake mustache and Gabriella runs up to him.

"Pablo."

Pablo wraps his arms around her and hands her a rose.

"Bastardo!"

Pablo smirked at his twin brother.

"Buenos dios, elmundo."

"No!!!"

Eggman chuckles mischievously as the character named Juan found out his love, Gabriella is with his twin brother and pauses the show.

"Let that be a lesson to you, Juan. Family is a feeling of emotional clamors that leave you abandoned, betrayed, and weeping while you eat cake, which creates a copious amount of adipose tissue and individuals tried you as... man-boobs."

Eggman got a burrito from the Egg Drone that looked like a microwave, putting each sauce like a Mexican flag, ate one bite, and wasted it to be thrown away as he played Spanish music from his gloves when he spun his chair around, and Eggman smacked his big belly while dancing. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were disgusted at the sight of now-fat Eggman. Eggman screamed to see Agent Stone and Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, pulling down his shirt to cover his fat belly.

Agent Stone was unfazed with his features and greeted him.

"Doctor. We have visitors."

Eggman stared at him for a moment before squeaking.

"Really? I thought I was having an anthropomorphic nightmare, where the only person I can trust in the world showed up with all my worst enemies while I was in the bathrobe, playing conga on my big fat belly!"

"Sorry, sir."

"I don't believe it. Eggman's alive." Sonic said, surprised and shocked.

"And he's never looked... worse." Tails added while grimacing.

"Well, maybe... this is what "me not giving a damn what you think I look like" looks like," Eggman said and laughed, patting his fat belly.

"Sir, right now, we have an even bigger problem." Stone said as he walked up to the computer.

"Oh, come on," Eggman complained when Stone plugged a flash drive in.

"There's an impostor out there, who kidnapped Gwen, and using your technology."

"Impostor, kidnapped girl hedgehog, that's impossa- what?!"

On the screen, it shows the Egg Drones pointing lasers at Team Sonic.

"No. My sweet, mechanized spawn. Whoever this party-pooping posse is looking for has stolen my persona and the precious babies from my egg sack. Well, I'll soon eggs-act my revenge." he turned to Agent Stone. "Do you see what I did?" Agent Stone nodded with a smile. "It's time for the dramatic soap opera twist where this Pablo reveals his wand."

Eggman walked up to his computer to track the location of Shadow and Gwen.

"I cross-reference the precise coordinates of each drone's energy spikes. I can track my babies to the imposter's base of operations and who had a light blue hedgehog right about there!"

He pointed to the red dot where it showed the map of location to the imposter. Tails noticed that and turned to Sonic.

"Sonic, I hate to say this, but I think we're both after the same person who has Gwen."

Sonic is not believing where this going.

"Hold on, hold on. You're not suggesting we team up with Dr. Robuttstank, are you?"

"Perhaps the fox is right. It could be our only chance to find this mysterious, more impressive hedgehog and save Gwen." Knuckles agreed.

Sonic groans in annoyance before facing Eggman.

"Alright, egghead, I hate to say it, but it looks like we're partners."

"On one condition..."

Eggman gestures to Sonic to hand him one quill. Sonic looks at him in disbelief.

"Dude, you have serious issues." Sonic then pulled one out from himself. "Ow!"

Sonic hands him his glowing blue quill. Eggman puts his tongue towards the quill only to get zapped as his head moves rapidly for a second. Eggman becomes excited and pulls Dr. Stone over towards him.

"Let's... do this!!"

Dr. Stone starts cutting off Eggman's hair with a hair shaver before Eggman puts on his goggles on top of his now bald head. With a grin along with his mustache now trimmed, he headed towards the changing room to change his clothes. Agent Stone stood outside to wait for Eggman to come out only to hear the door being slammed with Eggman yelling at himself to suck it in until he comes out and holds out his suit towards Agent Stone.

"Tinker Tailor, I need room. Think Elvis circa 1976."

"But sir, I don't have the proper materials." Agent Stone pointed out.

Eggman ripped off the front of Agent Stone's suit jacket and held out the ripped fabric.

"Found some." he said before closing the door of his changing room.

Agent Stone looked down at his now shown off chest.

"Resourceful..." he said before walking away to sew Eggman's suit.
