The Ring portal was opened as the GUN helicopter flew out of it before it disappeared to the dead of the night over the rooftops of Tokyo City. Tails was piloting the chopper, wearing a piloting helmet and mic much too big for his cute little fluffy head as he, Sonic, Gwen, and Knuckles are riding in.

"Good evening, and welcome to Tails' air flight ten-twelve. We're looking at an on-time arrival into Tokyo." Tails announced.

Sonic and Gwen approached Tails next to his seat.

"Okay, Captain, we got a rogue alien on the loose. How do we find him?" Sonic asked as he and Gwen observed the surrounding city area.

Suddenly, they head a loud explosion coming down below as they looked down to see red explosion and smoke rising from the downtown area.

"Uh... Start with the giant fireball?" Tails guessed sheepishly.

"I love it!" Sonic grinned excitedly.

"Yeah! Let's start with the giant fireball!" Gwen nodded in agreement.

Tails got out of his pilot seat as he, Sonic, and Gwen head towards Knuckles, who's practicing his punches.

"Hahaha! Finally! Some action!" Knuckles said excitedly, punching his fists.

"Okay, time to gear up!" Tails said, pulling out his gadget and pressed it to reveal handcuffs. "Titanium handcuffs. Completely indestructible."

"Cool!" Gwen grinned.

"As for you, I got you something." Tails smiled, pulling out a small red backpack that looked hard shell. "This backpack will convert into a motorcycle whenever you need it. I upgraded your motorcycle while you were asleep."

"Wow! Thanks, Tails!" Gwen smiled, putting on the backpack.

"I don't need your silly gizmos, fox." Knuckles said. "And do you know why? Because I am..."

"One million percent muscled." Sonic, Gwen, and Tails repeated what Knuckles was going to say, deadpanning.

"Yes. Good. You've been listening." Knuckles smiled, making Gwen roll her eyes playfully at her boyfriend.

An alarm went off as the room flash red and the pilot that was sitting next to Tails turned to them from his seat.

"We're loading the drop zone!"

"Alright! Here we go! Showtime!" Sonic announced before sliding the door open where they can see downtown of Tokyo City. "Now look, we don't know if it's Godzilla or Hello Kitty down there..."

"But as long as we stick together, there is nothing we can't handle." Gwen finished for her brother, looking determined and excited for some action.

"Team Sonic on three! One..."

Sonic hold up a fist as Gwen, Tails, and Knuckles placed their fists together.

"Two... Three... Team..."

"SONIC!" Sonic, Gwen, and Tails shouted in unison.

"KNUCKLES!" Knuckles shouted differently.

This made Sonic raise his eyebrow at his big red friend and groan while Gwen giggle. Rockwell approached them with a blank expression.

"Talk about a low budget flight." Sonic commented. "No food or movies? We're out of here!"

"Later!" Gwen saluted with a wink.

The four then jumped out of the chopper and dove down as they fly straight down in the air for a moment, feeling a breeze of their furs. The four then hold onto each other's feet as Tails grabbed them and the four spin around, turning into balls before landing dramatically on the street where the destruction was taking place. The four stood there as they see the people screaming and running away with the GUN soldiers limping away.

"What happened here?" Knuckles asked.

"Looks like GUN got their butts kicked." Sonic answered.

"Keep your eyes open." Gwen warned them, standing guard.

"Tails? Anything?" Sonic asked.

Tails checked on his mobile device and noticed something.

"Whoa. These energy readings are off the chart."

Before they could question it, they heard a sound and looked up to see a flying GUN war truck heading straight towards them.

"Look out!!" Sonic shouted.

Knuckles immediately get into position as Sonic, Gwen, and Tails cover themselves for the hit, only to feel nothing. They opened their eyes to see Knuckles caught the war truck. He turned to them, holding up the war truck in one hand to show it off.

"One million percent." he said, winking at Gwen, who blushed, before throwing it to the side.

Suddenly, they see a shadow figure of a hedgehog from red smoke approaching them with loud footsteps. The four turned around to face their upcoming enemy as a pair of air shoes walked through the flames up to the edge of the flipped car. Standing high before them was Shadow the Hedgehog. Gwen's eyes widened in shock after seeing him the last time in her dreams. She had to admit, after seeing him upclose and in person, he's pretty good-looking. Shadow glares down at them, though he softens a little to see Gwen again from dream to reality.

"Whoa." Sonic gasped at the sight of Shadow. "Are you guys seeing this?"

"He looks just like you." Tails pointed out.

"Impossible!" Knuckles said in disbelief.

"I don't see any resemblance here..." Gwen sweatdropped.

"You're a colorful bunch." Shadow mumbled sarcastically.

"Um, excuse me! Why do you look like me?" Sonic questioned with his eyebrow raised.

Shadow frowned in disbelief and denied.

"I don't look like you. You look like me. Why do you look like me?" he questioned back.

"Hey, you know what? I'll ask the questions, new hedgehog." Sonic said before asking him again. "Who are you? Why do you look like me?"

"This is a waste of time. Walk away, before you get hurt." Shadow warned them, clenching his fist.

"Whoa, whoa! Easy, buddy!"

Sonic brought out the titanium handcuffs.

"We don't want to fight you."

"He's right. We're not here to cause any more trouble than there already is." Gwen said.

Knuckles leaned over to Gwen and Sonic and whispered.

"Actually, Sonic, Gwen, I would like to fight."

This made the two look at him unamused before Gwen gently pushed his face to the side.

"Not now, Knux."

Knuckles grumbled in response. Sonic faced Shadow again.

"Why don't you stop throwing cars at us for a second and come down here to talk?"

"You jumped out of a GUN helicopter." Shadow frowned. "There is nothing to talk about."

He then turned his back on them about to leave. Gwen immediately stepped up.

"Wait, Shadow! It's not what it looks like. I don't know what's going on, but please just let us talk. We mean you no harm."

This made him stop a little and turn to her. But hearing him call his name surprised Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.

"Wait! You know him?" Sonic questioned.

"Yeah, how??" Tails questioned.

"That guy??" Knuckles questioned, feeling suddenly jealous.

Gwen winced at herself, forgetting to talk to them about her dreams. She calmed down and faced Shadow.

"Yes... We've met in the dream. It's kinda of a long story, but we did talk."

"Seriously?" Sonic said, still surprised that she knows Shadow.

Shadow stared at her for a moment before turning around.

"Sorry, Gwen. I don't think it's the right time to talk." he said, walking away.

Seeing him about to leave gives Knuckles a chance to start the fight while also wanting to show his worth of affection towards Gwen by taking Shadow down.

"Alright then, enough!"

He then took off to charge at Shadow.

"Knuckles, no!" Sonic called out.

"Wait! Knuckles! Don't!!" Gwen called out.

Knuckles jumped towards Shadow with his fist ready.

"Let us talk with our fists!!"

With a glance, Shadow warped from where he stood into the air in front of Knuckles in slow motion. Knuckles' expression quickly changed from invigorated to shocked. Shadow grabbed his fist and twisted it the other way with a sickening crunch. Knuckles cried in pain as Shadow's eyes glowed orange before side kicking him up high in the air and teleported to where Knuckles was flying and kicked him to the side again. Shadow teleported to different directions as he gives Knuckles every kick before teleporting above Knuckles and sending him down onto the street. Knuckles bounced off from the street he landed on and onto the store entry. Sonic, Gwen, and Tails were horrified at his defeat and ran over to him.

"KNUCKLES!!!"

They started helping him up as Sonic and Tails grabbed each of his arm while Gwen wrapped her arm around his waist to pull him up while checking on his face.

"Knuckles, Knuckles, you okay??" Gwen asked with worry.

"No, not really. Ow..." Knuckles replied.

Once Knuckles is up, Shadow appeared in front of them menacingly. Gwen glared at him for hurting her boyfriend as the four get into their battle stance.

"Who is this guy?" Tails questioned.

"He's much more impressive than the hedgehog I fought previously." Knuckles commented, unfazed by Shadow's hits.

Sonic broke out of his battle stance, rolling his eyes back at him, feeling offended.

"Dude, I'm standing right here." he deadpanned.

"Did you forget that you also fought me and lost?" Gwen mentioned, making Knuckles wince at the reminder.

"Oh, right..."

"Whatever. Now come on, he can't take us all at once." Sonic said as they all get back into their battle stance.

Suddenly, Shadow appeared behind them and kicked Tails off to the side.

"Ow!!"

He then teleported to Knuckles and kicked him off to the other side as well before teleporting again, now in front of Sonic, grabbed him by the neck and used his air shoes to take him high up into the sky with him. Shadow teleported above Sonic and shoved him down, holding him by the neck. Sonic screamed, struggling out of his grip as the two crashed onto the street, creating dust and some remnants of broken concrete flying. Gwen holds her ground, covering her face with her arm from the dust before looking up with worry. She sees Sonic struggling to stand from his knees for a moment.

"Okay, he took us all out at once." he groaned out before collapsing to reveal Shadow standing behind him.

"Weakling."

Shadow then approached Gwen, who gets into her battle stance, ready to fight back. But what she didn't expect is for him to walk past her as he headed towards the GUN motorcycle that was lying on the ground. She turned around to see him lifting up the motorcycle before getting on, stealing it.

"Wh-Why didn't you attack me? I'm part of this, you know."

Shadow glanced at her softly.

"You're too important."

He then glared at something to her side, which made her turn to see Sonic lifting his head up to see Shadow on the motorcycle. Shadow then kicked up a laser pistol left on the ground and clicked it to charge it up.

"Don't try to follow me."

With an engine roar, Shadow took off. Gwen was speechless that Shadow didn't even attack her, which made her wonder even more of what made her too important to him. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles got up from the beat down Shadow gave them as they watched him get away. Tails noticed Sonic's expression and became worried.

"Sonic, I know that look. Going after him is a bad idea."

"When does that ever stop me?" Sonic questioned as he get into his running stance, his body and eyes glowing electric blue before taking off after Shadow.

Gwen knew she needs to stop Shadow and not let him get away with hurting her family. She removed her backpack and converted it into a motorcycle as she quickly hopped on, starting an engine before taking off after them.

Sonic zoomed through the streets of the city, dodging the cars and heading into the tunnel where Shadow is driving and caught up next to him.

"I got to ask. One hedgehog to another, who does your highlights?"

Shadow saw Sonic through the side mirror and turned to him with a growl. He pulled out his laser pistol and started firing at him. Sonic dodged every fire he shot. As he kept firing, he doesn't noticed someone driving next to him as they stand on their seat before giving him a tap to the shoulder. Shadow stopped firing and turned to see Gwen on her motorcycle. His eyes widened and before he could act, Gwen kicked him in the chest, causing his motorcycle to stagger as he struggled to control his motorcycle. Shadow quickly took control before raising his eyebrow at her, impressed. Sonic zoomed in between them with a teasing smile.

"Ohh! Did I also forgot to mention my sister rides a motorcycle too?"

Glaring, Shadow started firing his laser pistol at Sonic again, who dodged them again while spin dashing. He did the same to Gwen, only to miss on purpose to try and slow her down. Gwen swiftly dodged them. With a glare, her eyes glowed red along with her necklace before raising her hand and started firing Chaos Spears. Shadow dodged them, while shocked at the power she threw at him. That power was almost like his... Sonic tried to spin dash at Shadow while he's distracted only for Shadow to disappear. Gwen quickly caught up to Sonic while looking around for any sight of him.

"Hey! Dangerously good driving is my thing!" Sonic whined, seeing Shadow teleported behind him and dodging his incoming fire.

Sonic ran up the wall of the delivery truck before spin dashing through the street in speed. Gwen powered up her motorcycle with her ruby necklace before speeding up as she tried to get close to Shadow, who kept dodging her. Before she and Sonic could reach for him, Shadow disappeared again. Seeing the truck ahead, in slow motion, Sonic jumped through the open windows, dodging the frozen screaming driver with drinks spilled in the air.

"Coming through!"

Gwen saw the truck also and ducked under it while driving her motorcycle to the side before coming to the other side and driving back straight and speeding up along with Sonic. Shadow then teleported next to them in the air.

"Ahh!!" Sonic yelped as he sped up into a Spin Dash when the motorcycle was about to land on him.

Shadow then landed and kept driving away and Sonic jumped up and grabbed onto the back of the motorcycle. Gwen sped up next to Shadow and started bumping into him to try and slow him down, which he bumped back while Sonic hold on.

"Why are you running away? We were just getting started!"

Gwen bumped Shadow into the bus where the kids are standing, creating a big crack on the glass doors and scaring them. A laser pistol was dropped to the street in the process as they speed through another tunnel. Shadow looked at Sonic behind over his shoulder with a glare.

"The more you talk, the harder I want to hit you!" he warned angrily.

He then twisted the handle to speed up as they drive out of the tunnel. Sonic and Gwen looked ahead and screamed to see the moving train as the road is blocked in front of them with a bell ringing to warn the drivers about the train.

"Watch out!!" they warned Shadow.

Without a word, Shadow grabbed Gwen's motorcycle she was driving on before teleporting himself and Sonic and Gwen into the air in front of the tall building.

"Ugh!! I'm gonna throw up!" Sonic groaned, flying in the air while flailing around.

Shadow started up the motorcycle with his power as they glow electric orange as he head straight towards the wall. Gwen noticed that and did the same on her motorcycle with her ruby necklace.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Sonic exclaimed.

Shadow and Gwen then landed on the tall building safely along with Sonic before Shadow sped up to the top. Gwen and Sonic quickly followed after him as the trio bumped into each other and clashed together, creating sparks below them. Eventually, they made it to the top as Sonic and Gwen crashed into the fence. Sonic landed on front while Gwen quickly converted her motorcycle back into her backpack before landing on her back as the two groan at the rough impact. Shadow flys up to the very top of the tower and skids up the side of the building in Akira-style as he goes up high in the night sky, standing on his motorcycle glowing orange before bouncing off of it. Sonic and Gwen glared up at Shadow as they glow electric blue and red before bouncing off the sky bridge they were standing on after him. They raised up their fists together and they soon clashed, creating a huge lightning explosion and forcing it into a blackout all over Tokyo City.

In a matter of seconds, the lights went back on as the power was restored. Gwen got up with a groan, shaking her head from the unexpected blast she experienced. She then gasped to see Shadow handcuffed unconscious Sonic to the fence before standing up and about to leave.

With a glare, Gwen silently summoned her ruby knife and spun it up before jumping forward in slow motion before throwing her knife at a normal speed. Shadow sensed her movement and intercepted the knife with his hand easily. He faced her and threw the knife away, leaving Gwen unarmed, but she charged right at Shadow and tackled him off the building. The two fall as Gwen tried to punch him but he kept blocking her hit.

"I'm not letting you get away!!"

The two then crashed onto the street, creating a huge dust. Shadow got up shaking his head only to see angry Gwen charging at him again and delivered multiple punches to him, but with every punch, Shadow intercepts it with his own hands once again.

"Hup! Huh! Impressive!"

Gwen delivers a roundhouse kick to Shadow, who quickly grabbed the car door to block the kick, but the door breaks completely with her ruby power she uses, backing him to a car as a car alarm goes off.

"You're gonna pay for hurting my family! Tell me, why you attacked the city?" she demanded.

"That's none of your concern. Your family was in my way." he stated calmly.

"It is my concern!"

Gwen attacks Shadow again, but he uses the sewer cover, grabbing it and throws it at Gwen. With her Chaos power as they glow electric red, Gwen punches right through, destroying it. Shadow knew that power is familiar with his own power, making him wonder about her.

"You wouldn't understand."

"Oh, I wouldn't understand?!"

Gwen summons her ruby knife from her necklace and tries to stab Shadow, but Shadow caught her wrist and twirls around to smack her against the damaged car, disarming her knife, and holding her with his elbows.

"You need to stop. I don't want to hurt you."

Gwen glares and back-car flips over Shadow, freeing herself before landing behind. When Shadow turns around, Gwen punches his face hard enough to make his nose bleed.

"You don't have a choice. You chose the hard way!"

Shadow seemes to be handling the fight well, making him wipe his nose and smirks with interest. In return, Gwen smirks with satisfication as if she's enjoying the fight. She attacks Shadow, but he easily intercepts her punches.

Shadow trips Gwen by the leg with a kick and grabs her arm and spins her to throw her over to the debris, but Gwen lands on the debris with ease. She then summoned the ruby darts that are shaped like feathers in her hands from the ruby and threw the darts over to Shadow, but he jumps to the left.

Gwen throws more darts and Shadow, who hops around dodge over one and lands on the table near the cafe when Gwen has no more darts.

"You're really full of surprises." he commented.

"Well, then you're in for more surprises." she smirked before summoning her ruby sword.

She jumps on the table to fight Shadow and tries to hit him, but he flips over Gwen and knees her. Gwen blocks the attack with her sword and goes to stab Shadow, who dodges her attacks. He then tries kicking Gwen, but she ducks below and then backhand springs over to kick Shadow. He ducks away and moves to the other side to get the drop on Gwen, but she moves to the right. Shadow grabs hold of the table and flips to the left, causing them to fall out of balance, but they flipped over and stands back up.

"I'm not sure if I want to fight or ask you out." Shadow said, smirking.

"Not bad, Shadow." Gwen smirked back.

"I got more surprises for you, sweetheart."

"So do I."

Then they charge at each other with a battle cry.
