  This ship is dangerous for both characters. Not only mentally but it can get physically dangerous very quickly.

   Sonic is a very free spirited character and he's know not to stay in one place too long.

  Amy is not the same. She is the type to settle down and stay in one spot aside from a yearly vacation with her loved one.

  That main issue is Amy's mentality. She is extremely attaches to Sonic, and is hyper possessive. She is demanding of his attention constantly and forces physical attention from him when it clearly makes him uncomfortable. She is incapable of adjusting her level of attachment to meet Sonic's comfort level.

  If they were to be together, the fights would spout like a wildfire. Amy would question every time he left the house, and could potentionally injure him.

  Amy had swung her hammer at Sonic as a threat before, and if Sonic were to make a 'mistake' from Amy's view he could potentially be abused.

  Sonic's free spirit would need to calm, and even so Amy's clingyness to him wouldn't help much with stress. Her need for his constant attention would deprive him of time to himself and any runs he's wish to take.

  The stress on Amy from not knowing his location could make her worse than she is. Her own stress over simple facts could make her paranoid and Amy could risk her health.

  Not only that but because Amy has physically threatened Sonic before, Abuse could start at any moment. The stress Sonic would have from tiptoing around Amy could be dangerous. Stress is a mass cause of death amongst men, and Sonic could be one of those victims because Amy has no self control.

  Though in Amy's view she means well and is merely showing her affection in a way she knows, is isn't read that way by Sonic.

  Unless Amy finds restraint this relationship would be extremely toxic to both characters and would not end well. There would be regret from Sonic for not saying no, while Amy would never understand why Sonic never treated her in the perfect manner she saw but was impossible for them.

  They aren't compatible and the danger in this relationship is too great for them to work. Sonic boom Amy would have a slightly better chance, but she would possibly over analyze Sonic's actions and make situations worse.

Either way, this relationship would be full of landmines and too toxic for either character.
