In a unknown city:
Nepgear: Neptune... Sonic... Please wake up...!
Sonic: Uh... What...?
Sonic wakes up as he sees Nepgear and Neptune.
Sonic: What happened?
Neptune: Mmm...
Nepgear: Neptune, wake up!
Neptune: Oh, c'mon, Nep Jr... gummies ten more minutes...
Sonic: Uh, Neptune, I don't think there's time to be sleeping. Look around.
Neptune: Urgh, you're so noisy... Wait. Did Histy find out we're slacking off to fix that console? Has she finally morphed into a blood thirsty demon?! Huh?
Neptune sees the city as it was in ruins.
Neptune: Oh, riiight, right, this is just a Dream. Okay, we'll then, night Nepgear, Sonic, turn he lights off on your way out, kay?
Sonic: (You gotta be kidding me?)
Nepgear: It's not a dream, Neptune! Get up!
Neptune: No... No, no, no, this can't be possible. I mean, we were just in our room, right? Why would we suddenly be in a place like this?
Nepgear: I don't know... When I came to, we were just here. What happened...?
Sonic: It must've been the console.
Neptune, Nepgear: Huh?
Sonic: The console became a portal and sent us here in this destroyed city.
Nepgear: But how?
Sonic: Strange...
Neptune: Well, I don't know where this is, but I don't think it can't be helped. The city's collapsed, there are weird cracks in the sky, but, ya know, this is totally a normal occurrence in games!
Sonic: Yeah, but not normally until the end of the game.
Nepgear: Neptune, even if it happens often in games, this should not be happening here, in reality...
Neptune: Yeah, yeah, but let's not sweat the small stuff, alright? Hey, there might be some NPC's out and about... Let's go for a walk! I'm sure that'll be ten times better than moping around in a place like this.
Nepgear: Yeah, you're right. It's better than just waiting around for an event to appear.
Sonic: Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!

Few minutes later:
Nepgear: No one's around...
Neptune: Hmmm... That's pretty weird. You'd think there'd be at least a cat, a hologram or something.
Sonic: Well, there's nothing here.
Neptune: Heeeey! Anyone heeeere?!
Nepgear: There's something really eerie about this place, you two. Those cracks running through the streets and building don't seem like regular cracks.
Sonic: Hmm? I'll take a look up there. I'll be back.
Sonic jumps up from the builds and looks around.
Neptune: You're right. They're all green and pretty. I feel like I stared at them long enough, they'd suck me right in.
Nepgear: There are similar cracks in the sky too... It's almost as if the fabric of space and time itself has cracks in it... And these buildings... they feel familiar... Kind of like some of the ones we have back in Planetune... N-No, it couldn't be...
Neptune: Hmm... Would Planetune look like this if we were to enter an apocalypse?
Nepgear: D-Dont say things like that! That's bad! But when I look more closey, I don't recognize any of these areas, so I don't think it's Planetune...
Neptune: Doy! Come on, little Nep, that city's my backyard, I'd recognize it if I was walking around it blindfolded.
Nepgear: Sonic, you see anything?
Sonic: Hmm. Nope.'It's just cities destroyed and cracks everywhere.
Neptune: Well, it does us no good to keep brooding here. Forward, march!
Nepgear: Where does her confidence come from at times like this, I wonder...?
Neptune: My confidence, you ask...? It's obviously cause I'm the main character! No matter what happens, we'll make it through with my protag ruleset!
Nepgear: I hope so...
A sudden monster appears behind Neptune.
Monster: Rrrrrroooar!
Neptune: Eeeek!
Sonic: Huh? A monster?
Neptune: Agem, That was just k-kinda loud, is all. It's just a ran of the mill first battle baddie. See, Nep Jr? My protag ruleset has found local person number 1!
Nepgear: No, Neptune! No matter how you look, I don't think we can converse with it. It's full of murderous intent!
Neptune: Uhh... I guess so, huh?
Sonic: Hey, you two alright?
Neptune: Yep, we're fine, just keeping looking, we'll take care of this thing!
Sonic: Alright!
Neptune: Nepgear, let's transform and stomp it!
Nepgear: Right!
Neptune: Behold my power!
Nepgear: Professor Unit, set!
Neptune and Nepgear couldn't transform.
Neptune: Um...
Nepgear: Huh?
Sonic: Guys, what's going on?
Neptune: We can't transform!
Monster: Rrrrrrooooar!
Sonic: Uh, oh, I better help!
As the monster goes to attack, Sonic jumps in and kicks the monster in the face.
Nepgear: Sonic!
Neptune: Good timing!
Sonic: What's going on with your transformation?
Nepgear: We don't know. We just can't!
Sonic: Lets see if I can. Yeah, I still have it.
Neptune: I don't know why we can't go HDD, but we have to take care of the enemy in front of us first! Let's go for it!
Nepgear: Okay!
Sonic: Right!

Nepgear: I've never seen this monster before... It looks strong...
Sonic: Nah, we can take em!
Neptune: Never fear, Nepgear, this is a tutorial battle, so no matter how crazy they look, we'll win!
Nepgear: O-Okay.
The monster usesnit stingers to attack them, but they dodged it. Sonic runs towards the monster and jumps in the air as he homing attacks the monster pushing him back.
Nepgear: Slash Wave!
Nepgear's blade releases a shockwave damaging the monster.
Sonic, Nepgear: Neptune!
Neptune: Cross Combination!
Neptune does multiple slashes as Sonic jumps up to Neptune. Sonic steps on Neptune's sword giving him a boost.
Sonic: Aura punch!
Sonic uses Aura Punch into its weak point at the min disappears.
Sonic: Alright!
Neptune: Ha, easy peasy! We didn't even need HHD.
Nepgear: But why couldn't we transform...? Oh!
Sonic: Hmm?
Neptune: What's up, Nep Jr?
Nepgear: Neptune, it's our shares! I thought something was weird, I can't feel our shares at all!
Sonic: Really?
Neptune: Yeah right. I trounced a certain Noire in a character ranking contest. That popularity is like the source of our shares, so to be missing...
Neptune tries to feel her shares.
Neptune: That's... ridiculous... Hmm?! It's gone! Whaaat?! Why?! Shares are the faith people have in CPU's! It's impossible for them to be at zero! And for us to be unable to transform in a post-apocalypse horror world like this... We're going to be sterilized!
Sonic:  Neptune, you need to calm down.
Nepgear: Sonic's right, Neptune. Also, that monster we just fought... Have you ever see anything like it before?
Neptune: That super gross mutant bug thing? Nope! And I kinda wish I never had. What about you?
Nepgear: It was my first time too.
Sonic: Same here.
Nepgear: Unfamiliar monsters in an unfamiliar land.. Where the goddesses are we...? Can we actually get out of here alive...? I've tried contacting, but the N-Gear keeps dropping out of range, so I can't connect to the phone or the internet...
Sonic: Well, that sucks.
Neptune: I-It'll be just fine! You worry too much. Just leave everything to your big sis! And, let's be real here, roaming around strange new lands beating up monsters is way better than working at a boring desk!
Nepgear: Neptune, I think you only feel that way because you hate working...
Neptune: Psh, the only thing I hate is not having fun! Come on, let's make the most of this, little sis.
Sonic: Uh... I don't think Nepgear's gonna have fun of this, Neptune.
Nepgear: Neptune... I don't know if I can have fun, but I'm sure we'll be fine if the three of us are together.
Neptune: There we go, you look way cuter when you smile. Let's keep moving!
Nepgear: Okay!
Sonic: Alright!
The three keeps walking around as little monsters appear.
Nepgear: Monsters!
Neptune: Aww, there so cute!
One of the robots tries to shock Neptune but she dodges it.
Neptune: Hey, bad monster!
Sonic: Haha!
Neptune: Hey!
Neptune smacks one of the monsters in Sonic's face.
Sonic: Oww!
Neptune: Hahahaha!
Nepgear: Neptune... Sonic...
Sonic, Neptune: Alright.
The three takes out the monsters as they disappear.
They keep walking as they stop seeing multiple buildings collapsed together.
Neptune: Ooh, check this out. I wonder what happened here... Hey! Nep Jr! SonicN let's try climbing to the top, maybe we can figure out where we are!
Sonic: Alright.
Nepgear: O-Okay... Wait for me, you two!
They got to the top as they see just collapsed buildings and cracks everywhere.
Nepgear: This can't be...
Sonic: Huh?
Neptune: Wha- Whaaat is thiiiis?!

Nepgears No way... just where... is this...?
Sonic: So many buildings destroyed...
Neptune: Hmm... Ah ha! Look over there! I see somebody!
Sonic: Huh?
Nepgear: Hm... Oh wow, you're right... I think it's a girl...? Oh no, she's surrounded by a bunch of scary monsters!
Sonic: Then what are we waiting for?! Let's go, you two!
Neptune, Nepgear: Yeah!
???: Yaah!
The girl punches the monster as more keep showing up.
Monster: Groar...?!
???: Tch, these pricks are still crawling outta the woodwork...
The girl gets a message on her watchz
???2: We're about halfway through evacuations. I'd advise you start heading back now.
???: What the hell! Are you freaking kidding me?! Half?! We need to get em all outta here! Besides, if I leave these bastards alone, they're just gonna be on our tails all night. This is gonna end right... here!
The girl gets her megaphone and yells at the monsters as they disappear, but more keeps coming.
Monster: Groar...?!
???2: Dear me... Just don't overdo it.
???: Yeah, yeah, I got it. I'm the only one who can fight, anyway...
One of the robots comes behind the girl as it goes to attack her.
Sonic: Hragh!
Sonic kicks the monster as it disappears.
Girl: What?
Neptune: Hiiiiyah!
Neptune slashes the monster as it disappears.
Monster: Groar...?!
Girl: Hm...?
Neptune: We found out first citizen! Hey there!
Sonic: Hey!
???: People...?!
Nepgear: I could've sword they were a lot more monsters before we got here... D-Did she defeat them all by herself?!
Sonic: Looks like it.
Neptune: Man, I'm just glad we finally ran into someone! Hey lady, could you tell us where we-
???: Ugh! Reinforcements now of all times?!
Neptune: Come again?
???: Rrgh!
Sonic: Whoa!

The girl pushes her back as she goes to attack her, but Sonic blocks her path.
???: Hragh!
Sonic blocks her megaphone attack as they clash.
Uzume: Heh, you're not half bad! The name's Uzume Tennouboshi! What's yours?!
Sonic: I can say the same thing! Name's Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog! But right now, we have no intention of fighting you!
Sonic keeps dodging her punches and her megaphone attacks.
Uzume: Hmm... You're a lot stronger than you look. You're like the perfect prelude to it!
Sonic: Listen, we're not here to fight!
Neptune: Listen to us! We're already super tired from getting sucked into that crazy vortex and we're trying to get back!
Uzume: Sorry, but I'm not the type to get all cozy with the enemy! If you think you can fool me by pretending to be human, you've got another thing comin!
Sonic: (Now that sucks. I know I'm not human, but I have human traits...) We're not enemies!
Neptune: Sonic!
Neptune backs up Sonic.
Uzume: He, just what I wanted!
Uzume attacks both of them as they block her attack.
Neptune: Just listen to us! Seriously, like I know I'm number 1 on Gamindustri's hot 100 chart for nicest people ever, but I'm about to get super pissed off!
Uzume: Gamin...?-
They back away from the clash.
Sonic: Listen, if you're not going to listen to us, then I have no choice but to fight you!
Uzume: He, that's what I want! Eat this!
Sonic and Uzume rushes towards each other for an attack, but Nepgear stops them.
Nepgear: Stooop!
Sonic, Neptune, Uzume: Huh?!
Nepgear: Please stop, you three! Um... Your name was Uzume, yes? Like my little sister and Sonic said, we have no intentions of fighting with you. In fact, I'd be really happy if you could help us. So, um.. Can you just listen to us for a minute? We aren't going to attack you, I promise.
Neptune: Yeah, what's your problem?! Just help us, jeez!
Nepgear: Neptune, this is your fault too... Why are you picking fights with strangers...?
Neptune: Eh... Heh, my bad, I was gets a little too hyped...
Sonic: I guess it's my fault too. Sorry for trying to fight you. We wanted you to hear us out.
Uzume: I-It's okay...
Monster: *Vrrrr...* (Hey, uh, we're still over here...)
Uzume: Tch, there are still a few stragglers... Alright, whoever you three are, this is gonna have to wait until I clean this up!
Neptune: Yeah, let's mop this spit up!
Sonic: That's right! Time for some clobbering!
Nepgear: I wanted us to stop fighting!
Uzume: It's too late... here we go!

Sonic runs up first as the monsters shoots missiles at Sonic, but he jumps on the missiles up to the monsters and charges up his punch.
Sonic: Aura Punch!
Sonic uses Aura Punch destroying the monster's face as it disappears.
Uzume: That was cool! Heh, my turn!
Uzume uses her megaphone and screams as the robot disappears.
Sonic: Now, that's loud.
Neptune: Cross Combination!
Neptune slashes the monster multiple times as it disappears.
Nepgear: Slash Wave!
Nepgear releases a shockwave attacking the monster as they all disappear.
Neptune: Dungeon cleared or whatever!
Nepgear: I'm finished over here, too!
Sonic: Already did!
Uzume: Is it really over? I guess I'll thank you three for now, but... just be honest with me... you're not its underlings, are you?
Nepgear: Mmm... Uzume, I'm not sure what "it" is, but like I said before, we aren't here to fight. We're just looking for help.
Uzume: (There are really humans... that survived...?) I can't believe it...
Neptune: How many times do I have to nepping tell you?! We aren't the bad guys!
Sonic: Hold on, Neptune, I don't think she met by that. What she met was that she's surprised that there are still humans here that survived.
Uzume: Yeah. I can't remember the last time I've seen people let alone fight alongside them... It was wrong for me to attack you to attack the way I did. Please, forgive me.
Sonic: Hehe, it's fine really. Besides, it was a good battle.
Uzume: Yeah, you're pretty strong.
Nepgear: I'm just glad you believe us.
Neptune: Oh, it's all good, Uzume, I know how it goes. I'm just relieved to know there are other people roaming around these parts!
Uzume: Well, I'm actually the only other person here... That aside, if you're not its underlings, who the hell are you? You seem pretty strong, but...
Neptune: Hmm... we're... how do you say... lost!
Nepgear: We suddenly found ourselves in this city... We were looking around to see if there was anyone else, and we finally found you.
Uzume: Lost...? You mean there are others who failed to escape and are surviving in other cities?
Sonic: Huh?
Neptune: Failed to escape? From what?
Nepgear: Surviving?
The ground starts to shake.
Neptune: H-Hey! I thought we cleared the dungeon! What the heck is it now?!
Sonic: You mean that thing is what people had failed to escape from?
Uzume: Yep. It's arrived...
A big purple light falls down to the city as buildings fly away. The light fades away as it was a huge thing was there.

Sonic: What the?!
Neptune: W-W-W-W- What is that huge thing?! Is the last boss already appearing?! We didn't get blown to the end of the game or something, did we?!
Uzume: I don't know who or what that thing is either... But it's the one responsible for turning this city and the entire world into a wasteland...
Sonic: Is that the one behind all those cracks and rifts we've been seeing everywhere?
Uzume: Right. And it doesn't just destroy cities; it destroys the earth and the sky as well.
Nepgear: You're going to try and fight that?!
Uzume: That's exactly right. I've been fighting with it for a long time.
Nepgear: S-Something that giant is just too much! Please Neptune, Sonic, tell her to back down!
Neptune: Alrighty! Now I'm getting all fired up too!
Sonic: Something that huge that we have to fight against... To be honest, I kinda wanna fight it.
Nepgear: Huh?
Sonic: Of course not! Usume literally said that it could destroy buildings, earth, and the sky as well!
Neptune: Our opponent's bigger than a skyscraper? That's perfect! In fact, bring it on!
Nepgear: Neptune?!
Neptune: Nep Jr, I'm the protag! There's no way I'll lose!
Sonic: Well, if you two are fighting it, then I am too!
Nepgear: Sonic?!
Uzume: I appreciate the gesture, Sonic, Neptune, but this fight is mine and mine alone. It's useless to try and stop me. I staunchly refuse to listen to people all the time. I do what I want, and I want to help!
Sonic: Same here! You're not going to face that thing all by yourself!
Nepgear: Please be reasonable, you three! If you think about it sensibly, there's no way you could win against something that gigantic!
Uzume: Sorry to interject, but as a CPU, it's my sworn duty to deliver justice upon the one responsible for ruining this city!
Sonic: What?
Neptune: Huh? Hang on a sec! Did you just say you're a CPU?!
Uzume: Oh yeah, I guess I hadn't mentioned that yet. Well, that doesn't really matter right now. This place is about to become a battlefield. If you're not prepared to get your hands dirty then... run... far away.
Nepgear: Uzume... let's get out of here together. I'm sure we can devise a strategy to defeat it that doesn't involve battling it head on!
Sonic: I'm actually gonna go with Nepgear on this one. Right now, we can't defeat that thing. We need a strategy if were gonna defeat that thing, so-
Uzume: No can do. A pack of monsters like the ones we just fought are advancing along with that giant. I gotta stop em here, no matter what. I need to create a window for the others to escape.
Nepgear: That giant thing looks terrible enough, but a pack of monsters, too...? Also, what... others?
Neptune: Well, then! With courage like that, I'm even more pumped to help ya out, Uzume! Let's get ready to ruuuumbleee!
Uzume: You three aren't ready for a fight like this, and you're just gonna hold me back. Like I said, just hurry and get outta here, already...
Neptune: I don't wanna!
Uzume: Run away!
Sonic: Ugh, this is getting frustrating... Look! If we go now, who's gonna be here to help you! We're not leaving you to die!
Uzume: ?!
Neptune: Besides, even if we really can't hold our own, we can at least buy you some more time.
Sonic: You're serious, huh, Neptune? Welp, it can't be helped. I guess were fighting that thing.
Nepgear: Neptune... Sonic... O-Okay. Neptune, Sonic, if you're going to fight, then I will too!
Uzume: Uuugh! What freaking ever! You three are so dense... Fine then. Listen, if we're gonna be fighting this thing together, then know this: we fight to win.
Neptune: Nep yeah!
Sonic: Yeah, but not now.
Nepgear: Yeah. Why don't we find a place where we can heal your wounds? From the looks of things, that giant won't head here immediately, we have some time. It's better to challenge it when we're at our best.
Sonic: Come on, Uzume, you know too.
Uzume: You're... not wrong. My base is close by, so let's head there.
Sonic: Oh, I see it. Alright then Uzume, Nepgear, grab my hand.
Nepgear: Okay.
Uzume: Huh? Grab your hand?
Sonic: What's wrong?
Uzume: ?! Nothing's wrong...
Nepgear and Uzume grabs Sonic's hand.
Neptune: Uh, what about me?
Sonic: Grab on to either Nepgear, it Uzume. Alright, let's go!
Neptune: Huh?!
Neptune quickly grabs both their hands as Sonic zooms off.
Neptune: Ahhh!
