A land with many levels stands behind the beach. Lush green lies on top and a brown checkerboard marks the sides. Palm trees sit among loops, ramps, and platos. A blue blur grabs gold rings and spins a cat and frog.

"Whoa! Uhh... uhh..."

Sonic comes back and catches him before he falls.

"Sorry, Big! Sorry, Froggy! Can't chat— gotta go help our friends!"

Sonic then runs off. Big smiles and waves at him.

"No problem, Sonic!"

Froggy ribbits at Sonic.

"Home is where your friends are, as they say..."

Sonic gives the readers a wink. White flashes to show Gwen, Amy, Tails, Flicky, Big, and Froggy sitting in a picnic by a palm tree as they smile.

"...and that's Green Hill, where the best beaches, palm trees, and chili dogs..."

Amy could be seen talking to Sonic, who looks rather confused. It then moves to Tails flying near the palm tree while talking. Gwen staring up at the palm tree with a fond smile as she places a hand on the bark. Then Sonic is lying down on a picnic blanket and he gets happy to see Big showing him a handful of chili dogs.

"...are just the tip of the iceberg."

Another white flashes to Tails piloting the Tornado with Knuckles, Amy, and Gwen on board.

"We've saved this place a million times from this doofus."

Eggman turns and lets out a nefarious laughter.

"And then there's Shadow."

An orange blur zooms down and crashes onto the stone rocks as they torn into pieces. Shadow could be seen as he stands over the destruction he made with a scowl look on his face.

"It's complicated. More on him later."

Shadow turns and then takes off. It later flashes to Sonic, Gwen, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and surprisingly Rouge standing on a hill facing the danger that's up ahead.

"The fact is, we never lose."

Sonic zooms past the destroyed robot and runs up the wall.

"'Cause when you've got a crew like mine, there's nothing that can stop you!"

Once he made it to the top, Sonic runs into the cave and skids to a stop.

"Hey, guys! I made it!"

Gwen, Knuckles, Tails, Rouge, and Amy all glare at him as they shouted.

"You're late!!!"

Eggman perked up at his voice and turned around.

"Sonic!"

Sonic grins at him.

"Eggman!"

Eggman stands with his robots along with Orbot and Cubot.

"Just in time to watch me claim the Paradox Prism and transform your disgustingly green world into something more..."

Eggman stands behind the multicolored crystals that glows.

"...me."

He then lets out his nefarious laughter once again. Sonic lands and opens his mouth.

"Yawn!"

Everyone gets into their fighting stance.

"Yep, I 'yawned' you, Eggman."

Eggman growls in anger and points at them.

"Crush them all!!"

Sonic and his four friends and his sister rushed to battle Eggman's Badniks. Sonic spins through one bot. Gwen spins her giant fist whip and hits another bot. Knuckles punches another. Rouge kicks. Amy smashes with a hammer. Tails shoots. Sonic busts other bots, but one of the Badniks comes behind and hits him, causing some rings to fall out of him. Tails flies in and catches him.

"Sonic!"

"Yo, Tails!"

Sonic jumps and lands by Knuckles.

"Knuckles! You okay, buddy?" he asked, kicking one off.

The Badnik goes to charge them when Knuckles catches it.

"Nothing flusters me, Sonic..."

He then throws the bot at the other as they exploded. He glares at him over his shoulder.

"...except Gwen and when you're late."

Knuckles runs off to fight more bot, leaving Sonic smiling while looking confused when he heard his sister's name. What he didn't notice is the caterpillar bot comes behind him. Luckily, Rouge comes to the rescue and kicks it away.

"Hiyah!"

"Thanks, Rouge!" Sonic waved at her.

"Don't mention it. Literally. Not to Gwen, either."

Rouge then flies off. Amy jumps and hammers the bottom part and stops the head from rolling away. Blue flickies flies out of the head. Sonic zooms in and leans casually on the head.

"Amy!"

Amy smiles to see him.

"Sonic! Where have you been?"

"Got a little sidetracked."

Sonic spins away, up the rock wall and into the air. He then knocks out three flying bots with his spin dash and Amy hammers away the third one.

Gwen swings her ice sword as they freezes two of the bots before destroying them by throwing her pink shield she summoned from her ruby as they exploded. Sonic stands besides her.

"Heya, sis!"

"Sonic! What happened? You were never late at the time like this." Gwen asked, spinning her whip before hitting the bot away.

"Everything's fine. Just run into Shadow."

Her eyes widened to hear his name.

"Shadow?"

"I'll explain later."

Gwen sees the flying bot coming behind Sonic and jumps and destroys it with her flying shield as her weapon flies back to her.

"Nice job." Sonic gave her thumbs up.

Gwen looks at him unamused.

"You better explain once this is done."

"I promise."

"Get that rock out of the ground!" Eggman ordered.

Bots with drills on their noses work on the base of the crystals, the Paradox Prism. But everytime they tried to go near, the Prism shocked them with electricity. Eggman growls in frustration as he pulls his mustache down before letting it go. He then jumps into the giant bot.

"Want something done, do it yourself."

Sonic lands next to Tails as they keep taking down the bots.

"Sonic, we don't know what the Prism is capable of. Be careful." Tails warned him.

"If Eggman wants it, it can't be good." Amy said, hammering away the bots.

"It's always never good when it comes to finding something special." Gwen said, slicing the bots in half as ice could be seen.

"Got it!" Sonic said, rushing after Eggman.

In a giant bot, Eggman grabs the Prism and pulls.

"Step away from the rock, Egghead."

"Not this time, you fool."

Sonic speeds toward the Prism. Eggman struggles to pull it free. The electricity bolts arc around its claws. Gwen notices this and feels something wasn't right and roller skates after Sonic in speed.

"Sonic, stop! Something's wrong!!"

Sonic jumps and spins at it as Gwen jumps at her brother at the same time. Eggman grins.

"Sonic, wait!!" Tails called.

Something glows from under the Prism. Amy, Knuckles, Rouge, Tails, including Gwen all shouted.

"SONIC, NO!!"

Sonic and Gwen's friends fall back and everything shatters in different glowing colors. In slow motion, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, and Tails float in beams of light. Gwen also floats as the light hits her and then she manages to close to her brother. Everything goes black.
