Sonic and Gwen falls back through a dark cloud. Eggman appeared as tiny lights.

"One day I'll destroy those two hedgehogs, and the world will be a brighter place for it, lit by neon."

Tails appears next with the same tiny lights as Eggman.

"As long as I'm around, you'll always have a wingman! And Gwen, I will be a man you always see me as!"

Amy appears after Tails.

"The forest is the most beautiful place on earth."

Knuckles comes next and punches his fists.

"I don't need the details, just tell me who to smash. And uh, Gwen, uh... y-you're the amazing person I've ever met."

Rouge appears last.

"You may not like the way I do things, but I get things done! Say Gwen, wanna go for a date sometime?"

Amy appears again.

"Hey, I may be the one who can bring everyone together, but there's only two hedgehogs they'll follow into battle."

Tails appears again, flying with his twin tails.

"Heh heh! I don't need an army when I've got friends like you, Sonic and Gwen."

"I will rule the world, and no rodents are going to stop me." Eggman's voice echoed.

"We'd follow you anywhere, Sonic and Gwen." Amy's voice echoed.

"Nothing could break our friendship, Sonic and Gwen." Tails' voice echoed.

Sonic and Gwen floats into whiteness.

Smog appears. On a street, jagged blue volts flash. A glowing ball expands then bursts. It leaves Sonic and Gwen on all fours in the street. Sparks zap around Sonic's shoes and Gwen's bangs as her hair was glowing until it fades off to her original black. Sonic stands up with a groan and places a hand on his head. Gwen gets up with a groan as she shakes her head out of her dizziness.

"That's a sonic boom of a headache."

"Ditto."

Sonic and Gwen starts walking in the city.

"Where... are we?" Gwen asked, looking around.

A light hits the hedgehog siblings with a honking sound. They turned and screamed as a truck slams into Sonic while Gwen manages to act and jumps onto the truck as she hangs on. Sonic hangs onto  the front grill. Gwen helps him up and they climb on top of the truck for them to see the view of the city.

"Uh..."

A train passes over and Sonic and Gwen quickly ducks.

"Close one."

The truck turns and Sonic and Gwen falls off onto the moving sidewalk. The sidewalk turns and Sonic falls off that and Gwen quickly jumps off of it. A robot broom catches Sonic and spins him around as he cries out. It then sweeps him into the wall. Gwen catches up to him in speed and helps him up.

"Why can't I remember how I got here?"

Once he's up, Sonic begins to poke his head with his arms crossed.

"Think Sonic, think!"

Gwen glares at him.

"You seriously don't remember? You were—"

"Whoa, what is up with my shoes?" Sonic questioned, not paying attention to her.

He looks down at his shoes that sparks. He glances at Gwen and his eyes widens.

"Whoa! Did you dye your hair or something?"

Confused, Gwen looks around and finds a window that shows a reflection and looks at herself and her eyes widens to see the strand of her bangs glows red.

"That's... new." she said, touching her bangs.

"Huh. I haven't seen anything like this since I ate truck stop chili dogs."

Sonic and Gwen looks around and starts calling.

"Tails? Amy?"

"Knuckles? Ugh... er... Rouge? I can't believe I just said that." Gwen groaned.

On a sidewalk, Sonic and Gwen tries to talk to the Mobian citizens, but all they receive is nothing but blank stare with depressed look on their face like they lost the light in them. This worried Gwen as she tried to talk to them.

"Hey, do you know where we are?"

The Mobian said nothing, but look away from her.

"Uh... sir?"

"Uh, pardon me, what do you call this place?" Sonic asked to another Mobian.

They didn't reply back to him and looked up ahead instead.

"Are you ignoring me? You're ignoring me. Why are you ignoring me?"

He leaned over the Mobian to try to get them to talk, only for them to push him and walk past him.

"Why is everyone ignoring me?!"

Residents stand on the moving sidewalks. Sonic and Gwen goes to the other side of the moving sidewalks.

"Can anybody give me and sis a straight answer around here?"

Gwen noticed a Mobian raccoon glanced at them and quickly looked away after being caught looking. Sonic noticed that as well.

"And you're busy staring at nothing. Okay."

The raccoon quickly walked away. A loud blaring sound was made, causing the hedgehog siblings to cover their ears and look up.

"Huh?"

They start reading something that's floating above the city.

"Welcome to New Yoke City. You're welcome."

"New Yoke City?" Gwen questioned.

"Never heard of it. Has to be far from home."

"Where are the mountains, the beaches, the palm trees? Our houses?" Gwen asked.

Sonic and Gwen turns to see Big and Froggy and smiles.

"Big! Froggy!"

Sonic quickly hugs Big, surprising him. Gwen was about to join in when she notices Big looking at him funny while glancing around the area.

"Whoa! Uh...!"

"Am I glad to see familiar faces! I thought I was losing my rings, you know what I mean?" Sonic said, elbowing him.

But Big wasn't happy to see him, only that he's confused. Gwen starts to get a feeling like... he doesn't know them.

"What is going on here? Are you wearing pants?"

"Sonic... I don't think Big—"

Big's eyes widened to see Gwen and pointed at her.

"It's you!"

Gwen looks him with confusion.

"Huh?"

"You're Iris!"

"I'm what?"

Suddenly, a spotlight hits Big, Froggy, Sonic, and Gwen. Big immediately puts his hands up.

"Unidentified citizens. Alert! Alert!"

A chopper with arms flies down. Everyone scatters as the chopper goes to Sonic and Gwen.

"Big! Don't go!"

"Wait, Big! Who's Iris?!"

Orange bots flies down as they surround them.

"You two are in violation of city ordinance 27 B/6."

"Sorry, I don't speak robot." Sonic said.

"Whoever you guys are, you're messing with the wrong hedgehogs." Gwen glared at them.

"By the authority of the Chaos Council, stand down or be disassembled."

A big robot brings out cannons from its back.

"Chaos Council?" Gwen raised her eyebrow.

"Chaos Council. Sounds important. Give us directions, and we'll take it from there."

Sonic was about to speed off when they suddenly stop, much to his shock.

"Wha—? Whoaaaaaaaaaa!"

His shoes went out of control and he speed away as Gwen catches up to him as she speeds off in her roller skates without a problem. The orange bots chases them as Sonic and Gwen goes through an alley. He fighs to get control of his shoes with Gwen guiding him.

"Whoa! What's up with my shoes?"

"I don't know! Keep going!"

Sonic then smacks into the wall as Gwen smacks into him. They quickly get up.

"Ugh! I'm not used to all these walls. And where are my rings?"

A fireball lands nearby as the orange bots shoot at them. Sonic and Gwen spins up and knocks them down.

"Robots without Flickies?"

"Okay, now that's new."

More shots miss them and Sonic runs and Gwen roller skates and the orange bots chases them through the dark city.

"Whoa!"

They turn and the bot hits the wall. They dodge the truck that heads toward another.

"Wha—! Whaah! No, no, no, no, no, no!"

"Sonic! Slide!"

Sonic and Gwen quickly slide under another truck and out the back. The flying orange robots keeps firing at them. A round gun sight follows them.

"This is not working. We gotta get off the ground!"

"Got that covered for me!"

Gwen's ruby glows and her body glows white for a moment and disappears as she starts floating before flying up. Sonic jumps and grabs onto the train hanging from the track. The bots follow up the building. Sonic and Gwen dodges the shots.

"Whoa! Aah!"

"Whoa! That's close!"

The train curves back down its track. Nearby a flying crane move a new level to place on the building. Sonic and Gwen spots it. Gwen flies towards the building and lands as Sonic swing and jumps onto the building. He and Gwen starts starts sliding and the bots chases them between the building and the level coming down. Sonic and Gwen stops at the edge. The new level then drops on the bots. Sonic and Gwen jumps off just as the new level crushes them. Sonic and Gwen spins and lands on their feet.

They panted from all the chase they have to avoid. What they didn't noticed is that the camera are watching them as they appear on the screen. In a control room, someone watches.

"Smog, concrete, evil robots. It's like everything I hate all in one place! Where are we?"

"Uh... Sonic?" Gwen pointed at something.

Sonic looked over and gasped.

"Oh, no!"

They spot a checkerboard pattern.

"Could it be...?" Gwen voiced out.

They run off with sparks of purple streaks behind them.

"Please be wrong. Please be wrong!"

They speed upward the building and then spin and shoot into the sky. They turn and float to view the city above.

"The Loop-de-Loop..."

It is now on top of the building.

"Hedgehog's Pass..."

It is now a street.

"...and that should be Tails' lab!"

It is now made of concrete instead of wood.

"Oh, no... We're definitely not home anymore." Gwen frowned.

"Aw, Tails, what happened?"

~ Before Prism Shatter ~

In Green Hill, Tails looks around then makes a turn in a Tornado. Gwen is riding in the back with him as he flies toward the mountain.

"Come on, Egghead, show me what you got!" Sonic said.

The giant bot climbs onto the cliff, facing Sonic.

"That's the spirit, rodent— the spirit of a loser!"

Eggman makes the bot slams its fist on Sonic, only for him to dodge and land on the rock wall.

"Takes one to know one. Ha!"

He dodges again by spin dashing as Eggman tries to smash. On the ground below, Knuckles and Amy are battling against Badniks.

"Why do I feel Eggman's keeping us off the main stage?" Amy questioned with suspicion.

Knuckles jumps down and lands on the Badnik.

"Eggman's got us fighting the Badniks so he can have Sonic all to himself."

"Let's go crash his show!"

Amy and Knuckles jump on higher levels and fight Badniks along the way. Eggman's bot keeps missing Sonic and punches the rock wall with Sonic laughing.

"One scrambled egg, coming up."

Sonic spins and knocks the bot back to the edge as Eggman screams and groans through the bot. Tails and Gwen watches from the plane.

"Hmm. I don't like this."

"Me either. It looks too easy..."

"Dr. Eggman's too smart not to realize how terribly positioned he is."

Tails pulls out his gadget to show the figure of Eggman's bot as the red could be spotted on the head.

"It's almost like he's—"

Tails and Gwen let out a sharp gasp.

"He's not in there." they said in unison.

"We have to warn my brother, now!"

Eggman's bot balances itself and does some move.

"Quaking in your tiny shoes at the might of my Eggcrusher? It's understandable. I'm rather astounding."

"In your dreams! You bring it, I break it, Eggman." Sonic grinned, punching his hand then doing a dance move. "That's the game, and I'm still the undefeated numero uno."

"Then put your quills where your mouth is, unless you're scared!"

"Oh no..." Gwen gasped.

Tails turns the plane and shoots the Eggcrusher.

"It's a trap, Sonic! It's a trap!" Tails shouted.

"He's tricking you! Don't listen to him!" Gwen shouted.

"I don't see a trap, though I guess by definition I wouldn't see a trap if there was one." Sonic said with a thoughtful look.

Eggman cackles, making Sonic glare at him.

"Something funny, Egghead?"

"You are! Watching you try to think with that two-cent brain of yours is hilarious!"

"Sonic! You gotta listen! It's a trap!" Tails shouted.

"Don't let him get to you! He's taunting you!" Gwen shouted.

Eggman groans and the Eggcrusher shoots at Tails and Gwen as a beam chases them. Knuckles and Amy watch from the ground.

"You're as stupid as your mutant, two-tailed fox friend is ugly. Especially, your so-called stupid idiotic sister of yours is nothing more than a second choice of a hero."

Sonic begins to get angry after hearing him insult his friend and his sister.

"Oh, you're really asking for it."

"Yes... I am!"

"You can mess with me, Eggman, but no one messes with my best friend and my best sister."

Sonic charges at the Eggcrusher in speed.

"Sonic! Noooo!!!" Tails screamed.

"Sonic, you idiot! DON'T!!! LISTEEEEN!!!" Gwen screamed.

Sonic runs on the cliff above the Eggcrusher and spins down and knocks it off the edge. Tails, Gwen, Knuckles, and Amy watch it fall back. Sonic keeps spinning at it and drives it into the ground. The shockwave throws two residents back. Big drops a fishing pole and catches Froggy. Shadow sees the shockwave coming and it engulfs him. The Eggcrusher forms a crater. A crack goes up the rock walls to the top of the mountain. The top explodes and leaves more cracks.

Smoke rises from the crater. Sonic stands on the Eggcrusher, looking surprised and looks at his hands.

"Whoa! Didn't know I had that in me."

He later grins and jumps in victory.

"That's what you get for messing with my friends and my sister, Egghead!"

He looks into the bot, only to find nothing but a machine that glows light blue before it died down.

"Huh? Wh-where's Eggman? He must have ejected."

Sonic moves his head away from the inside of the bot.

"Well, looks like we win again."

He looks up at them.

"Tails! Sis! He's not even in here. Lame, right? Too chicken to face us in person. Whatevs! Couldn't have done it without ya, buddies!"

Frowning, Tails flies away while Gwen glares at her brother with anger as her face turns red not before shouting that shocked Sonic, Knuckles, and Amy.

"YOU BUFFOOOOON!!!"

"...S-Sis..." Sonic muttered before getting off the destroyed Eggcrusher.

"Whoa, Tails looks upset. But I've never seen Gwen this mad before." Knuckles said, looking to where they have gone.

"And Tails never gets upset. Did you see how red Gwen's face is? She's clearly mad this time." Amy added with worry.

Eggman peaks out from behind tree and starts laughing.

"It worked! Without the power of that blue buffoon, we would have had to dig for months. Thank you for the earthquake, Sonic, and thank me for my plan, which went off spectacularly."

"And it worked, too!" Cubot added excitedly.

"Of course it worked! I just said that!" Eggman snapped at him before sighing. "Ugh, let's go. Papa wants his Prism."

Orbot and Cubot fist bump and follow Eggman. The mountain looms in the distance.

Sonic runs to Tails' lab and stops at the keypad by the door and types "1992". The red door opens to reveal Tails is sitting on a stool at the computer typing. Gwen is leaning against the table reading her book called "The Nightmare Before Christmas - Long Live The Pumpkin Queen". Her ears perked up to hear him coming in and ignored him.

"Yo! How's my genius friend and bookworm sis?" he nervously greeted.

"Hey, Sonic." Tails greeted back in a flat tone before going back to typing.

"Mm." Gwen hummed, not bothering with talking to him and kept reading.

"I brought you some comics. I even got you some mangas, just the way you like 'em."

"Thanks, Sonic, you can put them over there."

Gwen pointed to the table next to her to place them here. Sonic chuckles awkwardly at their tone.

"How about a little break from the big brain stuff and all the reading?"

"I can't. Something's not right. I gotta figure out what Eggman is up to. Oh, and Gwen is still mad at you so she wants me to say what she has to say to you. Plus, she's said that she can't forgive him for not listening to her, like always."

Sonic frowns and steps closer to Tails and turns him around. He then goes over to Gwen and pushes the book down and makes her face him. Gwen glares at him and crosses her arms.

"Sorry, Tails, sis. I didn't mean to upset you. In fact, I've never seen you so upset or seen you so angry before. I just kinda got into the moment and..."

Tails raises his hand.

"Sonic, it's cool. Really. But thanks. I appreciate it."

Sonic looks at Gwen with hope, who still glares at him. He begins to think of how to get her to forgive him until he gets an idea.

"Gwen, I'm thinking of a song."

"Sonic. Please. Not now."

"Oh, yes. It's a wonderful song. I think you're familiar with it."

Gwen's eyes widened in realization as Sonic begins to sing and makes his two fingers stand on the table and makes them dance towards her.

🎶Da da da da da!

"Oh, no. Oh, no, you don't."

🎶Da da da da da!

"No, no, no. I'm not listening!"

🎶Da da da da da! Da!

Gwen covers her ears as Sonic kept singing.

"Lalalalalalalalalalala!"

🎶Start spreadin' the news

"I don't know you!"

🎶I'm leaving today!

Gwen tries not to smile as Sonic jumps on the table besides her and starts doing a dance move. She then starts laughing as he sings.

"He's funny. Who is that?"

Tails just laughed.

🎶We are a great big part of iiiiiiiiiiiiit!

Gwen looks away as Sonic grins at her.

"Come on. You know you know the words. Two little words."

"... Green Hill."

Sonic and Gwen holds each other and sings together.

🎶Green Hill!!🎵

The trio laughed. Sonic lets go of her and looks at her to see her smiling.

"So, you forgive me, now?"

She hesitates before sighing.

"Alright. I forgive you."

"Yes!!"

He goes to hug her, but she stops him.

"BUT!!"

Sonic looks at her.

"You better listen next time. I mean it."

"Alright. I promise."

He then hugs her after as Gwen hugs back. Tails smiles at the scene before he frowns, thinking something deep.

"Don't you think it was weird that Eggman wasn't in the Eggcrusher?"

"Uh, not really. I mean, he is a total chicken." Sonic shrugged.

"Sonic, be serious. This is Eggman we're talking about." Gwen scolded.

"But I did find a hunk of junk in the cockpit where his big butt shoulda been."

"Hunk of junk, huh?" Tails said with a thoughtful look. "Wonder if that was all part of the trap? Tell me you didn't toss it in the barge of badnik parts."

"Uh..."

Sonic takes off and comes back with the junk he found.

"Junk speed delivery! You smash it, we dash it!"

"Whoa, lemme see that!"

Tails takes it and gets a look.

"It wasn't a trap, it was a trick."

"A trick? How?" Gwen asked.

"You've never created a blast that destructive. I think that this device was some sort of speed amplifier. Long story short, he used your speed against you!"

"The fox is on to something." a new female voice said.

Gwen looks dreadful as she immediately recognize that voice.

"Huh?"

They turn to see Rouge sitting on the wooden door.

"Rouge??" Sonic and Tails said in surprise.

"Hey, Rouge..." Gwen groaned.

"How did you get in here?" Sonic asked.

"He played you for a fool, Blue." Rouge said.

"Pfft! Please!" Sonic scoffed.

"She's not wrong, though." Gwen said.

"Hey!!"

"What would he need a massive explosion in that area for?" Tails asked.

"Well... I have a hunch."

Rouge brings out her wings and flutters down from the top of the door.

"You see, I've been searching for years for a super rare and shiny gem called the Paradox Prism." she said while flying past Sonic and Tails and goes around Gwen and strokes her chin, which Gwen quickly smacks it away.

"Paradox Prism??" Sonic and Gwen said in unison.

Rouge then lands in front of them

"Legend speaks of untold power, and it's buried deep within the Green Hill bedrock. My guess is that he used your power against you to try to find it."

The trio were surprised at this new information.

"Fascinating. But what I really want to know is, how did you get in here?" Sonic said.

Rouge looks at him funny and deadpans.

"You left the door open."

She points to the door that is still opened, which Gwen glares at Sonic.

"Gather your crew and meet me at the top of the loop-de-loop. Let's find out what Eggman is up to."

"Hold up!"

They look at Gwen as she gives Rouge a suspicious look.

"How would we know you're not using us and tricking us to help you just so you could get your hands on that Paradox Prism you've been searching for years as you say?"

Rouge was surprised before smiling.

"Oh, sweetie. I wouldn't have asked you for help if I have to."

Gwen raised her eyebrow, looking unamused.

"How would you know?"

"Should I show you then to prove that you can trust me?"

"Try me." challenged Gwen.

Rouge proceeds by moving closer to Gwen and then gives her a big kiss on the cheek, leaving a pink lipstick mark on it. Sonic and Tails were surprised by this as the certain fox gets jealous.

"Does that help?"

Gwen quickly wipe off the lipstick and look away.

"Alright... Let's go."

On the loop-de-loop, Sonic and others, including Rouge stares at where the shockwave was caused by Sonic as they detect a smoke along with the crack on the rock wall.

"I think Rouge is right." Tails said.

"Surprisingly..." Gwen muttered.

"Eggman picked that spot for a reason. Why else would he hide a power amplifier in his own Eggcrusher?"

"So we start at the scene of the crime." Knuckles stated.

"Exactly. Let's go investigate and see if anything might lead us to this Paradox Prism you guys are talking about." Amy said.

"And we better do this fast or else it's too late." Gwen added.

~ Now ~

Back to New Yoke City as Sonic and Gwen falls from the sky.

"Paradox Prism. Right. That's what Eggman was after."

"Now you remember?"

"Y-Yeah... But... how?"

Sonic lands on his face with a groan while Gwen lands safely in a dramatic position. They spot a logo with Eggman's face.

"No, no, no. We didn't leave Green Hill."

"This is Green Hill." she concluded in shock.

"He did it. I don't know how he did it, but he did it. Eggman won."

"That... should be impossible... There's no way he'd win."

The logo of Eggman's face's eyes glows red as alarm blares out.

"That would mean..."

They turn to see the same but more orange bots flying after them and start shooting lasers.

"...Badniks."

"We gotta find Tails!"

Sonic runs while Gwen skates as the orange bots chases after them.

A camera watches as it leads back in the control room. The lights turn on to reveal a shadow figure of a person standing behind the dark figure that watches them.

"Who are you two? ...Why does she look familiar?"

"More ungrateful rebels." a shadow figure said in annoyance.

"No. Something new. Not in the databanks."

They tap on the keyboards as it shows the profile screen of Sonic and Gwen with bars below them.

"Their energy profile is... intriguing. The Unidentified Running Organisms have outrun the Eggforcers and are heading towards Babble's area."

A logo of a scowling face with a pacifier marks the neon sign.
