When Y/n arrive back to New Metropolis he sees smoke in the air and hears explosions in the distances, civilians run from their lives as Y/n rushes through them. Disbite Eggman return he thinks it will be just like always. Then suddenly a gaint robot burst through the building and turn apon the civilians and fire missiles at them.

Y/n: Oh no you don't!

He created a lighting shield to block the missiles and then zaps the gaint robot which it's head blowns up and fell to the ground.

Then more Eggmans bots came down from the roof, sewers and alleyways as they race towards Y/n and the civilians. Y/n rush at them and begins to fight them. He blasted them away with his lighting and zapping them away.

Eggmans bots try to fire at him but he dodges and slammed his hand that created a electricity wave that zaps the bots and shut them off. A huge bot lands behind him and he turn to see it about to slam its hammer at him but he quickly move out of the way and leaps up high in the air.

He then disappeared and reappear behind it as he land on his feet and the robot falls to the ground as Y/n turn to the destroyed robot and turn to the civilians that are still evacuating.

Amy: Y/n!

Then Amy, Tangle and Whisper rush over just as more shows up and so they begin to fight them off while Y/n ask them.

Y/n: What happen while I was away?

Tangle: We don't know! It was just a peace day when all of sudden Sally appear on the TV saying something nonsense and then Eggmans robots suddenly appear.

Y/n: Any idea how they got in?

Whisper: No clue.

Amy: Right now the Freedom fighters are fighting off his army. We need to evacuate everyone as soon as possible.

Y/n: Bet Sonic is having some fun now Eggman is back.

Amy: (smirk) I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't.

Orbot: Y/n! Y/n! Y/n!

Then Orbot and Cubot suddenly rushes over to them in a panic and once they clear the bots they turn to Orbot and Cubot.

Y/n: What are you two doing here? This isn't save.

Orbot: You have to get to G.U.N HQ right now!

Tangle: Why? That place is impossible to get through.

Orbot: But they did! They're planning to assassinate the G.U.N Council.

Y/n: How do you know that?

Orbot: Since we were created by Eggman we still gain access to the Eggnet and we heard their coms.

Cubot: This city will be in ruins without your leaders.

Y/n: Then we need to get there. Come on let's go!

They agree and they race through the city so they can get to G.U.N HQ before it is too late.

(Later)

Once there they see G.U.N soldiers holding off Eggmans bots with Rouge, Omega and Shadow at the front lines. Maria is there as she drag some injured soldiers to cover and patching them up.

Y/n, Amy, Tangle and Whisper join in as they hold off the Eggman robots as best they. The Eggman robots just keep coming and they keep fighting them.

Shadow: Y/n!

Y/n: Right!

Shadow firws Chaos spears into the air and then Y/n summons thunder clouds into the sky as the Chaos spears go through the clouds. Then it came raining down with lighting like Chaos spears and once on impact it creates huge explosions that turn them into scrap.

Once the steps are cleared they stand down as Y/n ans Shadow turn to each other and smiled.

G.U.N soldier: Don't move traitors!

Suddenly G.U.N soldiers aim their wispons at Y/n, Amy, Whisper, Tangle and Maria which Rouge called out.

Rouge: Stand down! They're on our side!

G.U.N soldier: Well tell that to Princess Sally who is now sided with Eggman.

Y/n: That wasn't Sally.

G.U.N Soldier: Oh yeah, then who was it?

Y/n: It must be Mimic. He has the ability to transform into anyone. It could be him.

G.U.N soldier: That's impossible. Mimic was killed sometime ago during the Black Arm invasion.

Whisper: Mimic could have faked his death to cover his tracks.

Tangle: Or maybe the Sally we saw was just a robot and not real.

Amy: Not she looks very much real. I do believe the qmimic idea.

Y/n: See, Mimic could have fake his death and transform into Sally just to make the Freedom fighters the bad guys.

G.U.N soldier: We don't believe that for a second.

There was tension as G.U.N soldiers and Y/n as they have their wispons at Y/n and the Freedom fighters. Before they can say or do anything suddenly there was a massive explosions as they turn and sees a large bit of G.U.N HQ was blown up.

Rouge: (shocked) Oh no. Thats where the G.U.N Council was at.

They shocked to realise this and all of a sudden Eggmans robots retreated as their mission is complete as things begin to get words.

(2 days later)

The news shocks the whole world as the G.U.N Council members are dead and Eggman return along with Sally Acorn now a traitor and siding with Eggman and his empire.

Hamlin steps forward as leader of G.U.N and his first order is to exile the Freedom fighters out of the city as well as overthrowing the Acorn family and allowing Naugus be the king.

All Freedom fighter members have no choice but to leave New Metropolis as most of the civilians lost faith on the Freedom fighters and wanted nothing to do with them.

They soon set up camp near the Chao Garden and the Freedom fighters were in a low state. Some members leave thinking the Freedom fighters are done for. There is only a small few with Y/n, Amy, Tails, Sonic, Rotor, Tangle and Whisper gather around as Tails and Rotor do some modifications to Nicole's old datapad and soon it was done.

Tails shows it to everyone and then he hands it to Y/n as he looks at it and then he turns it on.

Y/n: (smile) It works.

Rotor: (smile) Now we can go and find Sally and Nicole.

Tails: (smile) Yeah and everything will be back to normal.

Amy: Well....it may take some time for things to get back to normal or maybe....it will never be.

Y/n: We will get things back to normal. We won't let Eggman win, not on my watch.

Tangle: Well everyone else seems to think so. Look around us, we used to have a lit of members and now.....its gone down to 40.

Sonic: Including Bonnie and Antonie.

Y/n: I know it is hard to say goodbyes to those we care for. But we won't let that get to us. Right now we have Sally to save and I will rest until she is rescued.

Amy: Let's hope so.

Y/n nods and then checks on the tracker and sees its gonna be a long journey so Y/n says.

Y/n: Let's get some rest and then tomorrow we'll make our move.

They agree and soon night came and everyone is asleep apart of Y/n who sits at the campfire and looking at the fire. He thinks about how everything has fallen apart and wonders if things would go back to normal or not.

He was lost to his thoughts when Sonic came over and sat down next to him. The two sat for a moment and then Sonic ask him.

Sonic: You okay?

Y/n: Yeah. What about you and your family? Heard they too were kicked out of New Metropolis.

Sonic: Yeah. They told me they are moving to Seaside city where the Chaotixs live.

Y/n: That's good to hear.

Sonic: Yeah.

They continue to sat at the campfire for a bit more and then Sonic tells him.

Sonic: Look....I was thinking....after we save Sally ans Nicole from Eggman.....I'm thinking about leaving he Freedom fighters.

Y/n: Why? Your a founding member of the Freedom fighters. Why leaving?

Sonic: Don't give me wrong I like the Freedom fighters. I like to help people and do what I do best. But the thing is.....I feel like i wanted to do my own things. Help others in my own way and be free. I wouldn't come by and help time to time but in the sate of the situation we are in.....even if we do rescue Sally......I don't think the Freedom fighters will not  hold much longer.

Y/n:.......True.

The two sat there for a moment and then Sonic says.

Sonic: I think the only reason why you want me to stay is because you needed me, do you?

Y/n: (sigh) Yeah. It's just......when I first join I was told a lot of heroic things you have done for years. I thought you're a legend among the Freedom fighters. I have grown but losing you meaning the Freedom fighters have fallen. It may sound selfish but it's true. Your the face that inspired others to fight back.....without you.....who would they look up?

Sonic: (smile) Simple.......a new face. You. True I'm mayhe a hero but your even more of a hero then me. You save the world many times an although I helped you, it is you in the end that hive is hope. Perhaps it is time for someone else to be a famous hero of Mobius.

Y/n:......You think I have a shot at it?

Sonic: (smile) Can't hurt to try it.

The two of them smiled and the  Sonic dashes off and then came back with two chili dogs. He hands one to Y/n as they sat down and Sonic raised his into the air and said.

Sonic: The Freedom fighters may fall but our spirit of Freedom will not die. Cheers.

Y/n: (smile) Cheers.

Then they take a bate of their chili dog and the two continue to talk all awhile we see a G.U.N drone spying on them as we cut to Hamlin watching the mentor as he makes a sinister smirk and says.

Hamlin: (smirk) Enjoy it while you can. Because tomorrow, the Freedom fighters will be shut down.....permanently.
