Boy, were you in a predicament. On the one hand, Sonic had invited you over for a movie and games night, totally just the two of you and a total set up for some sort of date. On the other hand, Shadow had invited you to the movies and then the arcade later, another total set up for some sort of date. And they had both asked you on the same night.

You were torn, on the one hand you would get to hang out with Sonic, the Hero of Mobius, the cheeky goofball you thought was utterly adorable and charming. On the other hand, you get to hand out with Shadow, the anti-hero, the mysterious brood you couldn't help but get flustered over. You just... Couldn't decide.

And here they both were, standing on each side of you, one holding your arm and the other holding your hand. Shadow was glaring at Sonic, squeezing your hand slightly. His red eyes bore into the green ones that stared back in annoyance. Sonic gave a light tug on your arm, as if you coax you into stepping away from Shadow. You were the rope in a game of tug-o-war.

"Come on (Y/N)." Shadow huffed, turning away as if to start walking, "We've got a movie we're going to miss."

"Oh yeah? I got a movie planned to." Sonic said, again tugging on your arm, "It's an early release, thanks to the President. I totally planned this months ago, even got his okay to get the movie early!"

"Well that's your problem for planning so rashly, I booked out the whole theatre out with help from the Commander; I too planned this months ago." Shadow said, glaring at Sonic.

"You should have talked to me about it first then, I made my plans way before you did."

"You don't even know when I made my plans."

"After me."

"No."

"Totally."

You were turning your head between the two, unable to get a word in as they fought over you. This was your dream, and it was one you would never let a single soul know about. Your two crushes were bickering over you, about you, for you. The charming and cheeky hero, and the super sexy badass. You felt like a fangirl whose dream was coming true.

But you shook your head. No, no getting distracted, you had to sort this before fists went flying. Slowly, you moved away from both hedgehogs and gently took a hold of each arm. The hedgehogs stopped growling at each other and snapped to your attention, ears perked to see your decision.

"Look, this is definitely a hard choice. You've both put a lot of effort into this." You said, offering both of them a smile, hoping this wouldn't turn sour, "But Sonic, if you got your movie at home, that means we can watch it whenever. Shadow's movie has a time and a date, I'm assuming he only booked the cinema for tonight."

"Exactly." Shadow smirked, crossing his arms. You had to make sure you didn't swoon.

"Besides, he did technically ask me first." You said, gently patting Sonic's arm, "I'll tell ya what, I can come over tomorrow and we can watch the movie then, alright?"

Sonic glanced at you, his ears lowering. His eyes dropped to the ground and he lost his cheeky grin, "Yeah... I guess so..."

Oh no. Your chest felt tight, your heart wrenched. You didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Especially not Sonic but... Your choice was logical... Right...?

"Hey..." You said, lifting his chin, "I promise we'll have a movie and games night, alright? Literally tomorrow if that makes you feel better."

"But I got Tails to stay with Knuckles tonight..." Sonic sighed, before turning away, "Yeah. Alright. I'll see you tomorrow."

He pulled from your hold and took off, leaving a blue streak behind him. You watched sadly, feeling bad for upsetting the blue hero. He really was hurt. Shadow only huffed, before taking your hand and walking the other way,

"The movie is in two hours, should I take you home to get ready?" He asked, staring at you,

"Y-Yeah... I guess..." You sighed, following him.

The dark hedgehog stopped and held your shoulders, his crimson eyes staring into yours with worry, "You're not letting the Faker get to you, are you?"

"He did look really upset..."

Shadow sighed, closing his eyes and lowering his head, "His stupid movie night at home means that much to you?"

"It's not stupid Shadow. It's... Actually sweet..." You said, also looking away, "It was a tough decision, I didn't want to hurt anyone..."

The hedgehog was silent for a moment, before once again looking at you. He watched you for a moment, before lifting your head to meet his gaze,

"It was a tough decision? Knowing what you know now, what would you decide?" His hand under your chin made your cheeks turn red, and you averted your gaze. This caused him to chuckle lightly, which made your cheeks darken a shade.

"I-I would still make the same decision. It was the logical choice. Your night has more... I don't know, demanding times? Sonic's can happen whenever, it's just a shame you both picked the same night."

"We did it on purpose you know." Shadow said, before stepping away, "Come on, we should go get ready."

You watched him, tilting your head in confusing. They chose to have their dates on the same night... On purpose...? What did that mean? Were they trying to see who you'd choose overall? That means...

Your (e/c) eyes widened and you grabbed Shadow's arm, "That's hardly fair!"

"What?" He asked, tilting his head at you.

"Making me choose between you two! I was only able to make my choice because it was a logical one! If you were both having movie nights at home then..."

The hedgehog blinked, placing a hand on his him and facing you fully. His eyes bore into you now, his face expressionless. You couldn't help but feel small under his gaze, feel cornered, trapped. It was another thing you liked about Shadow; he could be serious and turn the room silent with just a stare. It was intimidating, and a little hot. But not when he was doing it to you, not in this situation.

"Then what?" He asked, "Who would you choose?"

"... Neither...?" You said, more as a question, lifting your shoulders, "I don't know Shadow! Honestly, I'd probably suggest we all have a movie night together, because I just can't pick between you two!"

The dark hedgehog raised a brow, "You'd pick us both...?"

"Don't embarrass me please... I know it's a little strange."

"Well, we are polar opposites."

"And I love you both for those reasons. You're dark and mysterious, Sonic is light and outgoing. The contrast, I love both sides." Your cheeks were blood red now and you held your arm. You couldn't look him in the eyes, instead turning your head to stare at a single flower on the ground. You'd never tell anyone this, not a soul, and yet...

"I just can't choose. And if this whole date night shenanigan was a setup for me to choose, then I don't want to be a part of it." You said, your ears were pressed against your head, "I'm going home... I'm sorry to waste your time and efforts but... It's just not fair..."

And with that, you started walking. You felt humiliated, betrayed, and dare you say objectified. They really sprung this on you knowing what they were planning, forcing you to make a choice? Your heart felt ripped in two. That was it, you were going to Sonic's, apologising, and then going to hide in your home for the rest of the night.

"(Y/N) wait." Shadow grabbed your arm, stopping you from going anywhere. Usually, you'd be head over heels because he stopped you, but now you just wanted to go home.

"No Shadow, I can't believe you'd both do this. It's so cruel... To both of you, and to me." You said, pulling your hand away, holding it to your chest.

"I... I'm sorry..." The hedgehog muttered, his hands falling to his sides, "You're right... It was rude of us to force you to make a decision like that..."

"Yeah, and now Sonic probably doesn't even think I love him because I chose you. He's hurting for no reason as well." You huffed, "I... I know it's confusing and it's a mess, I like two guys, and they hate each other, that's why I'd never told anyone but... Well now you know."

"Don't worry, I won't tell a soul, not even Sonic." Shadow said, stepping forwards again, "I understand keeping secrets to protect yourself... I... Understand... Why you feel embarrassed. It is a mess; I won't lie but..."

He let out a sigh, clenching his fists, "Dammit why did you have to like both of us...? I can't imagine sharing you with him..."

"Oh, so now you're sharing me? I'm not an object Shadow." You growled.

His eyes widened and he raised his hands in alarm, "I didn't mean it like that."

"Yeah right, well thanks for that I guess..." You sighed, "I'm going home. After I say sorry to Sonic and get up him."

"(Y/N) please, we can figure this out." The dark hedgehog said, teleporting in front of you, "Look, it's messy, but Sonic and I... Ugh I can't believe I'm saying this... We're both good at handling messy."

You frowned, crossing your arms, "And...?"

"And we'll figure it out. I promise. Even if you don't choose either of us. I... I just want you happy..." He said, lowering his head, "I didn't think about how you'd feel in this situation, clearly it never crossed my mind you could like us both but... Even if you didn't it's still a shitty thing to do..."

"Yeah no duh."

"But, if I can make this right with you, then I will." The hedgehog said, "I did book out an entire cinema room for that movie..."

"That's your problem Shadow."

"(Y/N)..." He gave you a stern look, "Alright, you don't have to choose between us. You don't have to date us at all. But please... I put a lot of effort and money into this... I pulled a lot of favours. Please at least let me show you how much you mean to me... And perhaps make up for it..."

He rubbed his quills, almost sheepishly, as if he were a teenager admitting his feelings. (Y/N) had never really seen this side of him, the vulnerable side. He was definitely showing a side he had never shown before and knew that she could turn him down at any minute.

Slowly, a smile formed on your muzzle, and you leant up and kissed his cheek, "Come pick me up in 30 minutes. But also drop me off first."

The hedgehog smiled, before nodding and pulling you close, holding you against his body. Your face was pushed into his chest fluff and you blushed deeply once again. It was so. Soft.

The hedgehog had dropped you off, and he left to get himself freshened up as well, you had to hurry to get ready. Finding an outfit and jumping into the shower you washed your (f/c) fur and hair. But as you did, you couldn't help but think about Sonic, hoping he was okay, and wondering if you'd be able to fix the damage that was most likely done.

Once you had washed your (h/c) hair in a record 15 minutes, you jumped out and dried yourself, blow-drying your hair and styling it. Once that was done you threw on a light layer of make-up. You weren't big on make-up, but a special night was always a good excuse to look pretty.

But you stopped, staring into the mirror. When had this become a special night to you? You had just been devastated and humiliated; you didn't even want to go out. But then Shadow sweettalked his way into convincing you to go out with him. He showed you his true emotions, that was it, he showed a different side to what you were used to seeing, and you couldn't help but say yes.

Though you couldn't deny, you were definitely excited about it. An idea has also come to mind, and you smirked into the mirror. He wasn't going to win you over that easily. Finally, you threw on a nice pair of jeans and your favourite nice shirt, touching up your hair and choosing a fitting pair of shoes. Movies and then an arcade, you'll be on your feet a lot, so heels were a stupid idea.

Finally, you were ready, and Shadow knocked on the door. Opening it, you noticed he too had washed his fur and his quills. He smelt nice, as if he was wearing cologne. He was 100% wearing cologne. You chuckled, putting a hand on your hip and raising a brow.

"Getting fancy now, are we Shadow?"

"When was I ever not fancy?" He asked, holding his arm out for you, "Shall we go?"

"Mayhaps..." You said, pushing his hand away, "I have a request first."

The hedgehog raised a brow, mimicking you and putting his hand on his hip, "Oh really...?"

"Yes." You nodded, "After our date, we're going to Sonic's, and we're going to fulfil his date as well."

Shadow frowned, crossing his arms, "Why do I have to join...?"

"Because you're an asshole and... I want to spend time with you both. Plus, it gives us all a good chance to talk." You said, offering a weak smile, "Please? At least let me show you how much you mean to me..."

"Using my own words against me. You con artist."

"We're not going on this date if you don't agree Shadow."

The hedgehog pondered for a moment, before letting out a sigh, "Alright fine, we'll go see Sonic after the arcade. If that's what it means to make it up to you."

"Oh, that's not making it up to me, you're just showing me how much you love me." You smirked, before taking his arm, "Alright, let's go."

Shadow stared at you, before smirking and nodding. Within seconds, you were both in front of the cinema, taking your tickets from the ticket booth and walking inside. Someone was off to the side, yelling about the sold-out tickets, commenting on how no one was here. Shadow only chuckled and pulled you closer, walking right past them and into the cinema. You couldn't help but chuckle as well. This fool really had bought the entire theatre just for the two of you.

You couldn't deny that it made you feel special, and the thought of there being no other people to cough or stand up, no children to cry or scream. Boy this was going to be bliss. Grabbing some popcorn and other snacks, you both headed into the theatre, admittedly being a little cuddlier than you thought you'd be. His chest fluff was way too soft for words.

After the movie, you both walked through the city, finding the arcade and heading into the noisiness. Shadow made his way over to a shooting-styled game and won a bunch of tickets, you stayed more to the racing games. He eventually joined you, and you took great pleasure in beating him in the motorbike race.

"That's not even how real motorbikes work..." Shadow huffed, moving on to another ticket-winning arcade game.

After beating that and winning another bucket load of tickets, you both headed to the glass booth at the back of the arcade. There, Shadow looked through the prizes, before turning to you. You were currently looking around at everything, admittedly hoping he'd win you something, though not minding if he chose his own gift. They were his tickets; he could do as he liked with them. It was a silly romantic fantasy anyway. You smiled at him, tilting your head. Your ears flopped to the side, and Shadow couldn't help but revel in your cuteness.

"What do you want?" He asked, placing a hand on yours.

Your cheeks warmed and you stuttered, lowering your gaze,

"They're your tickets Shadow, you don't have to spend them on me..."

"But I want to." He said, "Now, what do you want?"

You gave him a small smile, before pointing at the bright green snake plushie that was hanging off to the side of the booth. Shadow raised a brow, before exchanging the tickets and wrapping the snake over your shoulders. You couldn't help but snuggle into it.

"Thank you..." You mumbled, wrapping the tail of the plush around your arm and letting the head hang down to your hip, "This thing is huge."

"That's what she said." Shadow chuckled and you raised a brow, shoving him playfully.

"Yeah I did, because I was talking about the snake."

Shadow chuckled again, wrapping an arm around you and the neon green plush, "So, are we done here?"

"Yes, I want to go see Sonic now." You said, and though he wasn't entirely happy about it, he nodded and took your hand.

You were at Sonic's door in seconds. Shadow took the snake from your neck, throwing it over his shoulder and giving you a nod. Understanding that this was now yours and Sonic's time, he took a step back, giving you the chance to knock on the door.

It took a while, but finally Sonic opened the door, looking drained and done with life. His droopy ears and sad face almost broke you in two. He really was hurt. Slowly, you reached forward and cupped his chin, lifting his head gently.

"Sonic...?" You tilted your head, and his ears perked.

"(Y/N)...?" He raised his emerald eyes to your (e/c) ones, "What are you doing here?"

"Shadow told me about the whole date thing, how it was meant to be a choice." You said, before taking your hand away and bonking the blue hedgehog on the head, "You idiot, I could never choose between you two."

"But you did, you chose Shadow..." Sonic said, flinching slightly at the light hit.

"I chose his date for logical reasons. If you both had the exact same date I wouldn't be able to choose."

"Really...?" Sonic asked, tilting his head.

"Really. Or... I'd suggest we all hang together." You said, offering a small smile and tilting your head, "I've only told Shadow this, and it was earlier tonight as well but... Sonic, I love you both, I can't choose between you two, it would break me."

The hedgehog perked up, his tail wagging slightly behind him, "So you like me?"

"The key word here is both Sonic, you AND Shadow."

"Yeah yeah I got that, but you like ME?"

You gave an exasperated laugh, "Yes Sonic, and I came here, with Shadow in two, to see your movie and game night through. And... To talk."

Sonic smiled, before swinging the door open and opening his arms wide, "Great, I get to have my date AND show it off to my Faker, I think this is a win win situation really."

"I'm glad you think so Sonic." You smiled and stepped inside, giving him a kiss on the cheek, "And... I hope you're not too badly hurt now."

"Oh I was. But now you're here and it's alright. Even if Shadow is here too." Sonic said, swinging the door closed. Shadow caught it with a growl and stepped into the house as well. He sent Sonic a glare, and the blue hedgehog only chuckled more, "Ah, this is my domain Shadow, don't be mean."

"Sonic..." You sighed, "I asked him to come, please don't be rude."

"Alright alright..." The blue hedgehog held up his hands, "So what first, talk or movies and games?"

Well, you three decided that talking would be the best option; gets the awkwardness out of the way first ya know? So you sat Sonic and Shadow down, and you explained your feelings. You told Sonic how admitting to Shadow was humiliating and you nearly went home, how he had made you feel better about it, and that was why you confessed to Sonic so casually. You'd been able to make peace with it tonight and admit your feelings to both your crushes.

The tricky part came next. If both Sonic and Shadow liked you, and you liked them, then how was this supposed to work? They hated each other, in a rivalry sense. Well, you weren't sure, but you took both their hands and said that it could work. Sonic glanced at Shadow and gagged, Shadow merely growled and clenched his fists, shaking his head.

Okay, so it might not work. But then you got another idea. One where they didn't have to like each other, they just had to get along with each other. There wasn't much difference, they just had to tolerate each other; but if they could, then they could both be with you. You date Sonic and Shadow, Sonic and Shadow date you, they continue to be rivals. Simple stuff.

Of course, the question of rivalry came up, Shadow asked if it would get in the way, and you had to think about it. Admitting that as long as it didn't go too far, you didn't mind the two occasionally making it a competition of who was the better boyfriend. If no one got hurt and no choices had to be made. You also confessed you loved them fighting over you, and they both smirked at each other after that statement. What they were thinking, you'll never know, but it definitely made you feel... Vulnerable...

Finally, you all came to an agreement; Sonic and Shadow were definitely not attracted to each other, so there was no way this would be a three-way relationship. Both hedgehogs were happy with you dating them both, but for the time being it should be kept secret from all your friends. It would feel weird explaining it to them straight away. It was basically a love triangle after all.

But you knew you could make it work. And finally, you all settled into the movies and games. You kicked their butts at Smash, and after visiting each other's islands on animal crossing, decided to call it a night. Next was the tricky part. Both hedgehogs wanted you to stay with them for the night, and the challenging glare they sent meant they would happily fight over it.

"Hold it you two!" You jumped between them, which was near impossible considering they were so close to each other. Now you were sandwiched between them, "No fighting, why don't you both stay at mine? That way there is no picking and choosing and fighting."

Sonic agreed straight away, Shadow was a little slow to accept the idea, but when Sonic made a saucy joke, he growled and agreed as well.

"Ah ah." You huffed and bonked Sonic on the head again, "No funny business. You're both to be respectable. Do not fight each other, and keep your hands to yourself unless you want a kick to the groin."

Shadow nodded in agreement, though Sonic snickered, which earnt an elbow from the other. The blue hero doubled over and you couldn't help but let out a sigh.

"My chances of no drama are better off with the plush snake." You said, cupping your face with a hand.

"Don't worry (Y/N), I won't let Sonic touch you." Shadow growled, "He really should learn to respect women."

"I do respect women." Sonic groaned, "I was just joking... I'll only do stuff if she says I can..."

"Just... Stop talking about it please." You said, your cheeks red, "I really don't want to think about that right now."

"Why? Thinking about both of us?" Sonic asked, raising a brow and flashing a cheeky grin, "I'm way faster than Shadow."

"Yeah, don't last as long either." Shadow said, though he too gave you a look, "Don't tell me you're going to try and get us to prove that to you (Y/N)."

"N-NO!" You yelled, waving your hands; your entire muzzle was red in embarrassment, "Oh Gods know... Both of you can stay home tonight."

"First competition Shadow?" Sonic asked slyly."

"I'll accept." Shadow chuckled, and you stared at them in horror.

But they both started laughing, Sonic doubled over and Shadow laid back on the couch. You pouted, your face felt hot and flustered. Picking up two cushions, you managed to wack Sonic over the back and scored between Shadow's legs. The darker hedgehog grunted and curled up, and your eyes widened,

"Oh my Gods Shadow I'm so sorry!" You said, "Are you okay?"

"Ngh..." Shadow said through gritted teeth.

"Looks like you'll have to kiss him better." Sonic said, now sitting up and wiping tears of laughter from his eyes.

Another cushion to the groin had complete silence. Well, aside from the painful groans. You let out a sigh, shaking your head,

"At least you two can joke together... But boy will this be interesting."

And don't worry, the night ended with all three of you sleeping next to each other peacefully, no funny business as much as they joked. Sonic and Shadow were on each side of you, both trying to snuggle close but also keep 5 feet apart. You were happy, your dream had come true, and you had to lay on your back to cuddle with both. Feeling them both nuzzle into your sides made a large grin break out on your muzzle.

Also, you and Sonic had another, private date tomorrow. It was only fair after all. You were keen to see the racetrack, and even more keen to race Sonic around it. Boy was it going to be fun.

I know, it was a rule at some point, but I can't lie I kinda wanted to write this as soon as I saw it, so like... Yeah I got rid of that rule haha.

Also this is soooooo long and I'm super happy with how it turned out! (It j u s t reached 9 pages – by 2 lines lol – and has 4317 words!) I hope you guys enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it!

And yes, I am planning a Part 2 JUST to have the rivals fight over you :3 I talked to my bf about it and got a shit ton of ideas hahaha (he's great, best bf for not even judging and even encouraging the request and coming up with ideas himself XD)
