Sonic X Reader (The Big Day)
I'm baaaack! :3 Enjoy!!!
It was a clear, windy day on the beaches of Mobius. The sand moved across the land smoothly, making it look as if the ground was moving below everyone's feet. Fur and feathers had been ruffled in the mix of the wind, though no one complained.
You see, today was a big day, for both Mobius, and it's hero.
Sonic the Hedgehog, the fastest thing alive, the Blue Blur, was getting married. Or hitched, as his friends jokingly said.
He currently stood at an altar, the silver metal twisted into an arch and placed on the flowing sand. White roses, lilies, tulips, and other exotic flowers had been strung throughout the metal framework, standing out against the yellow and blue scenery.
The chairs had surprisingly not sunk into the sand, though the blue hedgehog had to thank his younger brother for that. Tails, a yellow fox, had designed the seats so they wouldn't sink or become uneven. True to the theme, he had made them white with a light, slightly transparent cloth covering them. The little fox was very proud of it, especially since everyone seemed comfortable.
However there was an awkward silence. The bride had not arrived, neither had any of the bridesmaids. Sonic was nervous as he stood under the flowery archway, tapping his foot quickly in the sand and covering his popular red sneakers in sand.
"Easy Sonic, you know it's tradition for the bride to be late." Vector, a green crocodile called out from the small crowd of friends. His teammates, Espio and Charmy both chuckled slightly. Everyone knew Sonic, he wasn't one for being late or taking his time.
"I know I know." The hedgehog scratched his blue quills, "Can you blame me though?"
"Yes." Shadow said, his arms crossed. The crowd let out another chuckle.
"It's okay Sonic, she'll be here soon." Tails said from his side, smiling up at his big brother, "We know (Y/N), she'll be here soon."
"I know buddy." The other smiled, patting him on the head, "I'm glad you're my best man, you know how to keep me cool."
"True dat." The kitsune chuckled.
Meanwhile, a (f/c) (a/t) was currently pacing back and forth, her hair pulled back into a bun, with a few strands resting on her shoulders. She wore a white mermaid gown, the bottom of the dress covered in sparkles and small silver jewels. It dragged behind her as she paced, and she felt sick to her stomach.
"What if I fall over?" She mumbled to herself, "Will the sand ruin the dress? What if it starts to rain? The flowers aren't here yet... I'm going to be late!"
A pink hedgehog sat, finishing her make-up. She looked up to the bride to be and offered a smile,
"Everything will be fine (Y/N)." She said, "The flowers are on their way, your dress will survive and I reassure you, you won't fall over."
"How do you know that? I could become the laughing stock on what's meant to be the best day of my life."
"Because, as much as everyone thinks Tails only designed the chairs, the little liar wasn't able to keep his secret from me." She stood, dusting off her light blue dress, "The chairs are simple white chairs he bought from some fancy furniture store. Do you know how he's made them 'unsinkable'?"
"H-How...?"
"He created a platform, it's under the sand. So you won't sink."
A slight ease spread over the (a/t), enough for her shoulders to sag.
"And the flowers...?"
"They just arrived." The hedgehog walked over to the door, opening it. A young boy dressed in a black suit was holding the beautiful bouquet, his short white hair contrasted with the suit, but made his pale skin seem... Paler.
"Thank you Gerard." She smiled and took the bouquet from him, "We'll be ready soon, then you can lead the Way."
He nodded, before closing the door for them and disappearing down the hall.
"A strange boy." The pink hedgehog sigh, before turning back to the bride-to-be, "See? Flowers."
(Y/N) gave a wide smile, taking them from her gently, "Thank you Amy, these are beautiful."
"Every bouquet needs it's roses, it has red and pink ones."
"And the frangipanis are a nice touch."
"Hey, you've gone with beach theme, it's the best flower for it." Amy giggled, "Now, are you ready to walk down that sandy isle?"
"I am." She smiled.
"Perfect! Then lets go, you're already traditionally late, let's not leave them waiting." The pink hedgehog lead the (f/c) (a/t) out the door, "And don't worry. I checked the weather, it won't rain for at least two weeks."
"Perfect. You're the best Amy."
"That is why you made me your Maid of Honour, yes?"
"You bet." (Y/N) giggled, and the two walked out of Amy's house and to the large black limo.
Once seated in the back, Gerard got in the front and started driving. As they drove through the town, where many fans of the hero of Mobius were gathered, cheering on the car, (Y/N) started to feel sick once again.
"Amy..."
"You'll be fine. You won't fall over."
Her ears lowered and she nodded, before turning her gaze back to the window. Seeing the fans waving and cheering...
"This isn't a mistake, is it...?"
"(Y/N), are you having doubts?"
"No! Well..."
Amy smiled, before taking her friend's hand tightly, "Don't worry, it's normal. But trust me (Y/N), it isn't a mistake. I promise you that."
"But how do you know that?"
"Because I've seen you." The smile on the pink hedgehog's muzzle turned sad, "I saw you before you two got together, I've seen you since you've been together. I've seen your fights, and your make-ups. I've seen you look after him and I've seen him look after you. Trust me, you're not making a mistake..."
(Y/N) tilted her head, before cupping her friend's cheek, "Hey..."
"I knew, before you even asked me if it would be alright. That's why I was able to... Move on from him..." The smile returned, "And I'll be darned if you think it's a mistake, because I know it isn't."
The (a/t)'s ears rose again, and she nodded, before pulling her friend into a hug, "Thank you Ames..."
"No problem."
"We're here." Gerard said as the limo came to a stop, and (Y/N)'s heart dropped to her feet. This was it.
"Are you nervous?" Amy asked, giving her hand a squeeze.
"You bet."
"Want to wait until I get there, and then you walk out?"
"Please."
The hedgehog nodded, before Gerard opened the door.
Everyone turned their heads as the music started, a soft melody that drifted through the air. Sonic's ears perked and he raised his gaze to see Amy leaving the limo, walking down the sandy path in her baby-blue dress. She offered a smile to him, taking her place on the bride's side of the altar.
"Sorry we're late. Tradition." She giggled, before looking back to the limo and giving a nod.
Everyone stood as the white gown came into view, and a smile spread over Sonic's muzzle as (Y/N) stepped into view. Slowly, she walked down the isle, holding a large bouquet of flowers to her chest. She looked around the group of friends as she made her way between the seats, giving smiles and nods to her friends.
The wind picked up and she swayed, but kept her footing. A nervous laugh left her as she took her place next to Sonic, and a few claps went around, before everyone took their seats.
"You're beautiful." Sonic smiled, taking her hands in his. His emerald eyes shone in the sunlight, which was starting to set over the watery horizon.
"And you're not too bad yourself. White suits you." (Y/N) looked over him, "Wow, wearing pants are we?"
"It's a special occasion." He chuckled, before turning his gaze to the pastor.
The ceremony commenced, and everyone was grateful that Eggman hadn't decided to crash the beautiful day. Yet. The wind got stronger, and (Y/N) was immediately glad in her dress choice, it bellowed around her ankles, not daring to lift any higher. The collar on Sonic's shirt moved with the wind as well, and the white tie threatened to come loose.
"The Knight of the Wind is at it again." She said to him, and he let out a laugh, causing a few to tilt their heads.
"You know I'm the king now, right?" Was his response.
"Oh poor Knave."
"If you're asking for my sword, you're going to have to wait until the honeymoon." The blue hedgehog raised a brow, and (Y/N)'s cheeks turned beet red. She slapped his arm lightly, trying to stifle a laugh as the pastor tried to do his job.
"And since everyone is a wee bit distracted today." The older Mobian raised his head. He had clearly heard the two and the (a/t)'s cheeks darkened even more, "Let's skip to the end."
"Fast, just the way I like it." Sonic said, and this time the crowd heard him. They all laughed, and he gave the (a/t) next to him a wink. Another slap later had him holding his arm, "I meant running (Y/N)..."
"Sure you did."
"Now, Sonic, do you take (Y/N) to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do."
"And (Y/N), do you take Knave to be your lawfully wedded husband." The pastor gave a wink and she giggled. Sonic opened his mouth to protest.
"I do." She said, and Sonic pouted.
"Then I declare you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride!"
The blue hedgehog smirked, before wrapping his arm around the (a/t) and leaning over her, pressing his lips against hers. (Y/N) gave a startled yelp, before happily kissing back and wrapping her arms around his neck.
Their friends cheered, standing and clapping for the newly-weds. And as the two parted, Sonic couldn't stop the cheeky grin from appearing.
"So, straight onto the honeymoon then?"
"Not so fast." (Y/N) rolled her eyes, though smiled, "We have a party to get through yet."
"Fast is my middle name though."
"It is not." She pulled him back in for another kiss, before righting herself, "Don't even try to lie to me about it Sonic Maurice Hedgehog. We'll be on our honeymoon tomorrow. Okay?"
"Alright." He shrugged, keeping an arm around her waist, "Guess there's nothing left to do other than party!"
