Sonic X Experiment!Reader - @Amathystmist

Eggman was at it again, capturing innocent Mobians and using them as bait to try and lure Sonic into his lair. Most of the time he only locked them up in a cage and dangled them over water or crocodiles; anything cliché. And every time Sonic would save them, never being caught in Eggman's evil traps.

But one day, Eggman took it too far...

~~~
"Hahaha! This time Sonic is bound to fall for my trap!" Eggman laughed to himself as he stood over a table.
His goggles shined in the light overhead as he glanced down at the (f/c) (a/t) that was currently strapped to a table. The (a/t) flinched under his gaze, shaking in fear. Eggman was known to capture people, he wasn't known for experimenting on them. However, that was exactly what he planned to do this time; hoping it will fool Sonic, and therefore resulting in his first win.
"My roboticizer has sadly broken down from lack of use over the years." He monologued to himself, slipping on a pair of rubber gloves, "So unfortunately I'll have to do it myself. It won't be quick, and it won't be easy..."
The (a/t) struggled in the bonds, her ears pressed against her head as she let out a small whimper, "What are you going to do to me...?"
"Hmm.." The mad scientist thought to himself for a moment, "I suppose the easiest way to say it is... I'm going to upgrade you. Sonic will be forced to fight you but knowing him; he won't want to hurt an innocent."
A wide, evil grin appeared under his bushy moustache, "That is... Assuming he realises you're flesh and blood."
The (a/t)'s eyes widened and she started to fight against the restraints more, "N-No! Why would you do this?!"
"Simple, he either won't fight you, and therefore let his guard down. Or he'll attack you, realise his mistake, and let his guard down. It's genius!" The doctor exclaimed, before pulling a tray over to this side, "Now sorry to do this, but I've been meaning to get pain medication and... It kept slipping my mind."
He let out a chuckle, picking up a scalpel and leaning over the terrified (a/t), "So... Lets begin!"
~LATER~
"Test 37, switching between manual and autopilot mode." Eggman's voice came through a speaker positioned in the corner of the metal room.
The (a/t) sat curled up on the opposite side, her ears laid back and knees to her chest as she tried to ignore the voice. Dried blood plastered her fur/feathers, dripped from where one of her eyes used to be, from her ears, from her arms and legs. The cause, metal. Her eye had been replaced with a scanner, her ears had been enhanced, her arm was replaced with a robot's, and the same went for her leg. She looked like a cyborg, a freak. And it hurt so much.
She had something stabbing her in the back of her neck as well. Every time she moved it hurt, sending waves of pain down her body. She wasn't sure what it was connected to, but she knew she wanted it out. The (a/t) just wanted her old body back.
"Commencing test." Eggman's voice came through the speaker again and there was a flick.
Suddenly, the girl sat upright, as much as her mind protested against the pain. She had lost all control of her body. She got to her feet, her legs a little shaky but managing, and she lifted her robotic arm and fired a ball of chaos energy at a wall. Tears ran down her muzzle, tears mixed with red. The pain was unbearable, but she couldn't stop.
She started walking, each step felt like a thousand tiny shards of glass pressing into her leg, and she let out a choked sob as she lifted a wooden barrel. The robotic limb threw the barrel into the wall and it splintered across the room. There was another click, and the (a/t) fell to the ground in a heap. She coughed, trying to catch the breath her pain had stolen away, and felt something dribble down her muzzle.
A small pool of blood started to appear in her line of sight, and she felt dizzy. When was this pain going to end? Why was he doing this to her? He was using her as an experiment, a lab rat, to defeat Sonic. What was going to happen next?
"Perfect!" Eggman's voice boomed through the speakers, causing the incapacitated (a/t) to flinch, "I hope you're ready (Y/N)-bot. Because we're going into battle!"
~LATER -again-~
The two beings were standing in a dark room, the mad scientist sitting in his egg-mobile and hiding near the roof, while the poor (a/t) was left to stand against her own will in the middle of the room. The poor girl couldn't protest the pain, or the controlling wire that was connected to her entire nerve system. All she could do was stifle the cries.
"You know, I'm almost surprised." Eggman's voice came from above, "You turned out much better than I first anticipated. If you survive this, I promise I'll change you back. Or if you'd like, I could upgrade you more and make you better."
There was a hint to his tone, but the (a/t) couldn't focus on that. All she was thinking about was winning the fight to be turned back. Was it selfish? Yes. Would it stop her torment? Also yes. The obvious choice was obvious. If she had to fight Sonic to get her normal body back and stop the pain, then she'd do whatever she could, or endure it anyway. The girl managed a small nod, hoping the mad scientist saw that she had accepted the deal.
"Excellent." Eggman said almost gleefully, "Now Sonic should be here any minute. Finish him and we'll go from there."
As if on cue, there was an explosion from somewhere in the hidden base, and alarms started blaring. A red light went off in the corner of the room, spinning around and lighting the room almost eerily. Eggman chuckled to himself while the (a/t) prepared herself for the fight for her life. The door across the room burst open, and the famous blue hedgehog spindashed through the air; sticking the landing right in front of the trapped girl.
He glanced at her momentarily, his eyes flashing many different emotions. There was awe, confusion, sorrow, rage? The blue hedgehog then turned his emerald gaze up towards the ceiling;
"What did you do with (Y/N)?" He asked, taking a step back with his hands clenched to his sides, "Where is she?"
"You like her?" Eggman floated down next to the girl, giving her a pat on the shoulder, "I made a few adjustments. A shame you figured it out so quickly, but that doesn't matter. (Y/N)-bot, attack!"
The girl yelped as her body lurched forward, swinging a clawed hand towards the hedgehog. Sonic blinked and jumped back; a frown pulled at his muzzle as he did a flip, moving as far away from the cyborg-ed victim as he could. She followed suit, sending a ball of white energy towards him. The hero barely dodged, not expecting such an attack.
"Hey (Y/N)." He said, running behind her. She turned and swung at him, letting out a sob of pain as her arm grabbed him by a bushy quill. The hedgehog yelped and came to a stop, before turning to face her, "Why are you doing this? You don't have to fight me. I can help you."
"N-No..." She mumbled, her vision blurry as she swung the hedgehog's head into the ground, "N-No choice..."
He grunted, before kicking up his feet and tripping the girl; the clattering of metal filled the room as she landed on her back. The pain that shot up her spine caused her to cry out, curling up in pain. Sonic's ears perked up and he faced her properly; he was hardly hurting her, so why was her body shaking so much?
A growl came from Sonic's throat and he crouched next to her, gently laying a hand on her shoulder. She flinched away, trying to claw her way away from him, and Eggman flew down in a huff.
"You're supposed to be fighting!" The scientist yelled, "Now get up and fight!"
The robotic limbs got to work, forcing the girl to her feet as much as she tried to fight it. The pain was just unbearable, she'd rather die now than fight anymore; but the thing pressing into her neck was stopping her from doing anything. Sonic tilted his head, before ducking under the swing of her arm. He huffed, before kicking her in the stomach and sending her skidding across the room.
(Y/N)'s clawed hand dug into the ground as she slowed herself to a stop, before caressing her stomach. With a cough, blood splattered to the floor, and her jaw trembled as she stared at the blood. Internal bleeding? That was never good.
Sonic saw the blood too; clenching his fists as he realised he had to get her out of here now. The blue blur started running around the girl, before pulling up his communicator and calling Tails. After explaining what he thought was going on, he hung up and dashed into his make-shift tornado; grabbing the girl around the waist and creating a Sonic Boom as he ran out of the laboratory.
"No!" Eggman growled, before holding up a remote, "You won't get away that easily!"
He pushed the bright red button, a smirk spreading across his face, "Prepare to have your mind blown..."
As Sonic ran from the laboratory, he glanced down at the shaking (a/t) in his arms. His ears pressed against his head as she coughed up more blood, feeling guilty for kicking her as hard as he did.
"If I had known... I wouldn't have." He said to her, "I'm so sorry this happened to you (Y/N)."
"M-My... Name...?" The (a/t) glanced up at him, before closing her eyes.
"Your friends came looking for me, telling me you went missing." Sonic said, "I wished they came to me sooner... Maybe this wouldn't have happened."
The girl nodded slowly, before resting her head on Sonic's shoulder. She was confused, aching all over, and just wishing it would end. That fight hurt way more than she could have possibly imagined, and the feeling of dizziness took over her brain. She let out a groan, feeling something tingle in the back of her neck. A beep sounded, and Sonic stopped short.
"What's that noise?" He asked her, tilting his head down at the hardly responsive (a/t).
"I... I don't..." Her eyes fluttered closed, the feeling of warmth spreading from her neck.
She hadn't even realised Sonic had placed her on her feet, leaning her body against his own as he examined her back. That's when he finally noticed the strange equipment that was stuck in her neck, a red light beeping just below her fur. His eyes widened in realisation, and he grabbed onto the metallic pole.
"It's a bomb." He said, before holding the girl tightly, "I'm sorry, this will hurt."
"Sonic stop!" A young voice called out, causing the hedgehog to freeze before attempting to pull the weapon out of the girl's body, "You could seriously hurt her!"
"Tails! I don't know what else to do." Sonic said, his voice sounded almost panicked.
But (Y/N) couldn't tell, she was drifting between the comfort of sleep. Feeling the heat in the back of her neck spreading, and the heat of the body in front of her. The loss of blood had weakened her, and the pain had numbed. She felt comfortable, tired, like sleep would fix all of this.
The two voices became static, merging together, getting louder, and there was suddenly a stinging burn that jerked the (a/t) out of her daze. Her eyes widened and she let out a scream as the metallic prod in her neck was removed. She tried to squirm but found she couldn't. She was once again bound.
But where? And why? Why did she have to go through this again?
Oh wait. The black room was slowly gaining light, colour.
They were outside, under a large shady tree. Two Mobians hovered over her, a blue hedgehog and a yellow fox; both were looking at her with concern, the fox holding the metal wire in his hands. He looked sick, as if the blood that stained his gloved hands was going to make him hurl, and he shakily handed it to the blue hedgehog.
"If I'm correct, that will blow up in 10 seconds. You should-"
The other said nothing, simply taking off in a blue blur. (Y/N) tried to speak, to move. But her body was immobile. She couldn't feel anything. Why?
"Hey." The fox turned back to her, his sky blue eyes scanning her body, "You're (Y/N) right?"
She gave a small nod, unable to do anything else.
"Alright, I'm Miles, but my friends call me Tails." The young kitsune smiled, "I'm glad we were able to save you. This is the first time I've seen Eggman do this to, well, anyone."
She tried to speak again, she had questions that were muddled in her mind.
"You should rest. Sonic will be back soon, he'll take you to my workshop." The fox continued, "I'll try to fix you, but I can't promise anything drastic."
All (Y/N) could do was offer a small smile, before she felt her eyes roll back and everything went black again.
~LATER -again again-~
(Y/N) let out a groan as her eyes opened. A bright light overhead made her flinch away, lifting her arm to block her eyes. Her brain was fuzzy, small pieces of images here and there making no sense. Words she had heard but couldn't make out ran through her mind, and she slowly sat up, holding her head. A headache was already working its way through her.
That's when she tensed. A headache. That's all she felt. There was no other pain.
She lifted her head quickly, before looking over her body. The (a/t) let out a sigh of disappointment upon seeing the robotic limbs still attached to her; but she was grateful that moving them no longer felt like a bunch of 100° needles stabbing into her. The coolness of her hand actually felt nice against her head as well.
Then she realised she was in a room. The walls were white with some blue stripes down one side. A bunch of shelves with photos and trophies, and what looked like prizes, lined the plain white walls. A window sat across from the bed she was in, which was currently covered in red sheets. The bed itself was in a corner of the room, against the streaked wall, a TV sat at the foot of the bed, and a desk was under the window. There was a built-in wardrobe that was currently shut, showing two large mirrors that covered the rolling doors.
Whose room was this?
The girl moved the sheets from her body, staring down at her blood covered self. She then noticed the needle that was currently shoved in her arm, and a blood bag was sitting next to the bed. The (a/t) blinked, before lifting the small tube that connected the bag to her body. What was it doing..?
There was a knock at the door, and the girl jumped, pulling the covers over herself and pretending to be asleep as the door opened slowly. Someone entered the room and quietly walked next to them. (Y/N) didn't know what they were doing, but they were there for a while. Suddenly, a small chuckle made her ears twitch.
"I've faked sleeping enough to know when someone else is doing it." A familiar voice said, and the (a/t) sheepishly turned her head, lifting her (e/c) eyes to see none-other than Sonic the Hedgehog. He flashed her his trademark smile, before tilting his head down at her, "How are you feeling?"
"B-Better..." She mumbled, her throat was dry and her voice was hoarse, "I have... Questions..."
"I'm sure you do." The hedgehog sat on the bed carefully, "So let me cover the basics first. This is my house, my room. I brought you here after Tails removed the brainwasher from your body. Turns out it was also a bomb. Tails fixed you up the best you could, but sadly you're stuck with the robot limbs. Hopefully moving isn't a curse anymore."
A sad look crossed his features, and he lowered his gaze, "I know you didn't want to fight me... I could see the pain in your eyes, I wish you didn't have to go through all that. Eggman has never... He never did that to anyone. Not as badly as he had to you..."
(Y/N) tilted her head, before looking at her hands, "So I'm a cyborg now...?"
"Pretty much." He shrugged, scratching his cheek, "Uh... I'm sure Tails could come up with a better design than just metal though. If you want to look normal, he could make you look normal. He's a smart kid. Are you hungry?"
The (a/t) blinked as he lifted a plate of pancakes, "Tails said sugar would help with your blood loss, or give you energy while your body recuperates."
A small smile spread over the girl's mouth, and she gently took the plate from his hands, "Yes... Thank you."
"Uh... If you don't mind, I could take you to the kitchen?" The hedgehog asked next, scratching his quills almost embarrassingly, "Maple syrup is messy and... That's my bed."
"O-Oh, of course." The girl felt her cheeks warm, before nodding in agreement, "Lead the way."
He smiled, before taking her arm and helping her stand. She was wobbly at first, tumbling into the hedgehog and nearly dropping the plate. But his quick reflexes managed to catch both her and the delicious meal.
"Heh... Maybe I should take this." He grabbed the plate from her hands, balancing it in his own as he also grabbed the stand that held the blood bag, "And this. Hold onto my arm if you need to okay?"
"O-Okay..." The girl smiled, "Why are you helping me anyway...?"
"We help everyone." The hero smiled back, "Though in all fairness, no one has been in as bad shape as you. No offence."
"Non taken..."
"S-Sorry." He said, before walking the (a/t) downstairs and into a bright kitchen.
Tails was currently making more pancakes, wearing a small pink apron and large blue mittens as he moved the pan and flips the hotcakes. He looked up as the two entered and gave them both a wide smile.
"(Y/N)!" He greeted, waving a spatula, "Glad you're up! I made enough to feed Sonic, and then some."
"T-Tails..." The girl panted, already feeling exhausted.
"Sonic, get her seated." Tails said next, and the blue hedgehog obliged, "How are you feeling?"
"Weak... Tired... And confused."
"I'm not surprised. You'll take a few days to recover. I'd also like to keep an eye on you so if it's alright I'd like you to stay here." The fox said, bringing over another plate of steamy pancakes, "Sonic has happily given up his room so you should be comfortable at least. Plus I think he needs the company anyway."
"I have Netflix, I don't need company." Sonic huffed, before sighing, "But you're right little bro, (Y/N)'s welcome to stay as long as she needs."
"Th-Thank you two..." The (a/t) gave a small smile, "I don't even know you but... You've already helped me so much..."
"Hey, you're basically our friend now. Whether you wanted to be or not, you don't really get a say." Sonic shrugged, before digging into his meal, "After fighting me, nearly blowing me up and then sleeping in my bed? We're basically family."
The girl's muzzle warmed in embarrassment, before she too started to eat. Tails slapped Sonic over the head with the spatula, before happily going back to cooking, (Y/N) couldn't help but chuckle. Sonic rubbed his head and sent a stupid glare towards the fox;
"Really?"
"Be nice."
"I'm always nice."
"Bull."
"No, I'm a hedgehog."
"Sonic..."
"I know I know." The blue hedgehog laughed, waving his hands before he faced (Y/N) again, "Anyway, I hope you like it here, you are welcome to stay as long as you like. But if you decide to live here I want my room back."
"That could be arranged." The girl chuckled, already feeling comfortable enough to joke around these two, "You can have the floor."
"Oh, you'll fit in just nicely." Sonic chuckled, before leaning on his hand, his emerald eyes shining, "Just nicely..."
And the (a/t) would find out much later, that she does in fact fit in just nicely. The brother's friends accepted her almost instantly, and after talking to a bunch of the Freedom Fighters, (Y/N) wants to join and help fight against Eggman. Especially after what he put her through. Tails was also able to upgrade her robotics, making her look normal at least from a distance and also giving her cool weapons and gadgets, while others taught the girl how to fight in hand-to-hand using her now much stronger body.
And don't worry; she finally gives Sonic's room back to the blue blur, on the one condition that they share the bed because it's just toooo comfortable to give up. But that's a story for another time...
HEY GUYS I HOPE YOU LIKED THIS. I admit it took a week to write half of it, and then a night to write the rest (motivation has been a pain but I'm getting through it don't worry!)
I'll see you in the next one-shot!
