Manic X Pregnant!Reader - @Kawaii_Atsuko

Oh no. Oh no no no.

This can't be happening. This CAN NOT be happening.

You were currently sitting in your bathroom, staring down at the pregnancy test in absolute horror; the two pinks lines felt like they were cutting right through you, making you shake your head in disbelief. You had done everything you could to prevent this, being on the pill, taking the morning after pill, you even got your partner to wear a condom.

Oh God what was he going to think.

Your boyfriend, Manic the Hedgehog, known to be Sonic's brother and the drummer of Sonic Underground, was too busy to be a parent, let alone him actually wanting kids to start with. You'd spoken to him about it, both on a mutual understanding that kids would slow down your life. And now you're expecting one. What were you going to tell him? What would he do?

You teared up just thinking of the scenarios; he was bound to leave you, there was no questions about it. Soon you were going to be single and pregnant, and life was only going to go downhill from here. Dropping the test into the bathroom bin, you slowly got to your feet and leant on the vanity. You could feel your arms shaking, your nerves causing you to freeze as you stared into the mirror.

What could you do? Would abortion be wise? If you did that you wouldn't even need to tell Manic and you could pretend this never happened.

No, you can't do that. You have to be honest with him, talk to him about it, hope he understands. Hope he won't just leave you to do it by yourself.

Yeah, that's an option.

But there was still that dread. What would he do when you told him the news? Would he blame you? Clearly none of the steps you took to prevent this worked. It was true none of them were 100% affective, but the risks were lower than if you only used one of the precautions.

There was a knock at the door and it startled you; causing you to jump and hit your head on the glass mirror. What had you leant to close to it? You let out a groan and rubbed your head.

"Y-Yeah...?" You called out.

"Hey (Y/N), just making sure you're alright." Manic's voice came through the door, "Are you?"

"O-Oh... Yeah I'm fine."

"Are you sure? You sound nervous..." The green hedgehog on the other side leant on the door, "Are you sick? Do you need me to come in and hold your hair out of your face?"

You couldn't help but give a nervous chuckle, "No Manic... I'm fine. But could you get me some water? I just feel a little dizzy."

"Feeling dizzy isn't fine, but okay." He sounded unsure as he spoke, but left anyway.

Which gave you the chance to breathe, holding your head over the sink. It wasn't a lie that you felt dizzy, and you decided splashing your face with water might help; it always helps the main character in movies. The cool water definitely took the warmth from your face, even washing the tears from your eyes. But the puffiness in your muzzle gave away that you'd cried.

You frowned, before washing your face more. No way were you leaving this room looking like that, Manic would know something is wrong instantly, and although you planned to tell him, you just weren't ready to right now. The information had to set first, you had to take it in and turn it in your mind, you had only found out yourself, and you knew you had to act fast, but jumping into action felt tiring already.

"Hey (Y/N)? I'm back." Manic said through the door and you jumped again.

Glancing in the mirror, the redness had mostly disappeared. You let out a sigh, satisfied enough and wiped your face dry and open the door. The green hedgehog was leaning on the doorframe, his spiked quills hanging over his face, almost covering the chocolate brown eyes that stared at you with concern. In his gloved hand was a glass of cool water, which he held up to you.

You took it gently, thanking him and walking past quickly as you took a sip. Wow, you couldn't even look him in the eye right now; you really were nervous. He raised a pierced brow at you, before following close behind and wrapping an arm around our waist.

"Hey, you sure you're okay?" He asked, leaning his head on yours, "That felt like the cold treatment, did I do something wrong?"

"No... I just..." You let out a sigh, "I don't... I don't want to talk about it now... Could we do this later?"

"Okay..." He said, sounding hurt, "But... I'm always here for you. Talk to me about whatever's bugging you when you're ready to?"

"Of course.." You managed to look up at him and offer a small smile.

He smiled back, a wide grin that made your heart ache thinking of the possibilities. Knowing you may never see that smile again if he chose to. He gave a clap, before pointing at you with both hands and leaning back, giving off a 'surfer dude' vibe.

"You hungry?" He asked, "I didn't get anything out for dinner, again, but pizza is always cheap and it delivers to us."

"Pizza would be amazing."

"And a movie?"

"Only if it's the Great Gastby."

"Jeez, whatever it is really must have you down." The hedgehog said, now being thoughtful, before he gave you the thumbs up, "Aight, you go find a comfy blanket, I'll make the order and set the movie up."

"Thank you Manic... Really..." You said, leaning up and kissing his cheek. He chuckled and rubbed his cheek sheepishly, before waving a hand and hurrying into the loungeroom.

You sighed and leant your head on your hand, watching him search for the movie, before you hurried upstairs to find the fluffiest blanket; it almost felt like you were on your period. You gave a small giggle at that as you grabbed the silvery blanket from the cupboard, the fluffy fur-like material stuck to your arms as you walked downstairs.

The movie was on and ready to play, and Manic was sitting on the couch waiting for you. He had another glass of water for himself, and a bowl of chips to munch on too.

"Honey Soy Chicken?" You asked, walking over and sitting next to him.

"They're your favourite." (sorry if it's not ^^') He said, wrapping an arm around her automatically as he pressed play on the movie, "So... Are you on your period...?"

"No." You chuckled lightly, "Though I know it feels like it. It's... Actually related to that."

"It is?" The hedgehog turned his brown gaze onto you, "What does it have to do with... That?"

"I'll explain later, if that's okay."

He nodded in response, before turning back to the TV. You took this opportunity to lean into his side, nuzzling into his green fur and gripping onto the vest tightly. This could be the last time you do this, that's why you chose your favourite movie, and the fluffiest blanket. So you could take your last memory with him as bittersweet.

But as the narration for the movie started, you couldn't help but feel distracted, unable to focus on what was being said. Your chest felt heavy and light at the same time, weak from the worry but strong knowing you'd have to tell Manic sooner or later. The anxiety of needing to tell him that could break your relationship brought you close to tears again, and you were glad the hedgehog couldn't see your face.

The movie was going by in a blur, with Nick finally at the party and about to meet Gatsby, and you felt ballsy. Taking a deep breath, you sat up and faced Manic, the hedgehog turning to you and tilting his head curiously. Just as Gatsby raised his glass, you clenched your shorts/skirt/dress.

"I'm pregnant..." You mumbled as the fireworks went off in the background.

The hedgehog sat still, wide-eyed, as the words settled in his mind. Your ears lowered slightly, and you stared at your lap. God he was going to hate you now.

"(Y/N)-" There was a knock at the door, and the hedgehog jumped, before standing and running over to it. The pizza had arrived. Perfect timing.

You could feel yourself shaking as he thanked the guy, sounding so dazed as he paid for their dinner and walked over. Placing the pizza on the coffee table, he stood next to you. Silence. The tension was thick, so thick you couldn't handle it. You turned to look up at him, tears threatening to fall down your cheeks. Without missing a beat, you wrapped your arms around the other's waist and leant your face on his stomach.

"I-I'm sorry..." You mumbled, "I know we didn't want... I tried to prevent it... I-I didn't want to..."

"Hey..." He said, taking a hold of your arms and pulling you off him.

"I-I understand if you want to leave... I know we spoke about this, and I don't want you to go, I'll get an abortion, I'll do anything. I just don't want you to hate me, and I love you, and-"

"(Y/N)." Manic's voice was soft, sweet, and he cupped your chin with his hand, lifting your head to look up at him, "I'm not going anywhere. You don't have to worry."

"A-Are you sure...?" You stuttered, blinking the tears down your cheeks.

"I'm sure." He said, before sitting next to you once again, "How long have you known?"

"I found out just before..." You said, turning your head away.

"And you instantly thought of abortion?" He asked, tilting his head.

"W-Well yeah... We don't want kids, and I don't know what will happen to me if I go through with it and... And..."

"Shh..." He said, pulling you against him and patting your hair slowly, "It's okay, calm down alright?"

"O-Okay..."

"Do you want to get an abortion?" He asked next.

"I-I don't know..."

"Did you only think of it because of what we said?"

"Y-Yes..."

The hedgehog sighed, before lifting you to face him again. He kissed your nose, before hugging you close.

"If you don't want to go through with the pregnancy, then that's fine. But don't let me decide what to do with your body. I'll support you whether you keep the child or not."

"Y-You won't leave...?"

"Of course not. I love you (Y/N)." He said, "And besides, I said that months ago. I know we still want a free life but... I think having a child would be a cool new experience."

You couldn't help but chuckle, wiping your eyes as you sat up, "Comedians make it seem like hell."

"Well that's their experience. I'm sure every parent will tell you a different story." The hedgehog said, before cupping her cheek, "But I'm serious. Whatever you decide to do, I'll be there for you, forever and always. Okay?"

"O-Okay..." You nodded, before kissing his cheek, "Then if you don't mind... I think I'd like to have it."

"Then we're having a baby." Manic laughed pulling you into a tight hug and giving you a big peck on the lips, "We're totally naming it Manic Jnr."

"No we are fucking not."

"(Y/N) Jnr?"

"No."

"I'll let you figure out the name then." He smiled, kissing your nose again, "I'm really glad you told me (Y/N), I'm sure it was terrifying. Considering what you said, you must have had a lot going on in your mind."

"You're perfect Manic." You smiled, before settling back into his side, a smile plastered on your face. You were still shit-scared of what was to come, but the thought of having a baby with Manic was... Surprisingly nice.

And he thought so too.
