3rd POV:

Chip, Sonic, and Y/n have successfully defeated Dark Gaia in its full power. However, their victory ends when Sonic and Y/n are worn out of their super form, Gaia Colossus catches them and is now unconscious.

Meanwhile, in Shamar, the townspeople were still cheering that the crisis was over. Amy and Professor Pickle know that Sonic and Y/n have succeeded.

Professor: Ahh, the light reigns over darkness, and the world is returned to peace. It's simply a miracle. We've been saved by a miracle!

Amy:I told you, didn't I? There was no way Sonic would let something like that happen.

Professor: And right you were. Still... We cannot live without the night. We all must sleep. We all must rest. Darkness is a part of our world, just the same as light. It may be that the darkness has not been destroyed, but merely laid to rest. It grows strong over the eons, rises, then is put to slumber by the light. Perhaps that is the true balance of Dark and Light Gaia. That balance may be the very will of the planet itself.

Amy: Save the speech for later! We've got to get things ready for Sonic's coming-home party!

Amy grabs the professor's hand and goes off to the lab for a party for their victory.

Meanwhile back at Eggman Land...

The last piece of the planet is slowly closing in. The Gaia Colossus noticed it and looked at his palm, Sonic and Y/n is still unconscious. A transparent Chip appears above them.

Chip: My friends... Sonic! Y/n! You must live!

Chip sadly waves at them and as he was about to go back to the Colossus...

Sonic and Y/n: C-Chip?

Chip stopped, looked at Sonic and Y/n was miraculously alive, and smiled. Chip went back inside the Colossus, readied, and tossed Sonic and Y/n upwards to the surface with an energy field around them. Y/n barely opened his eyes, and barely saw his friend was left behind, he weakly reached out his hand, shed tears, and went back unconscious.

Chip: Goodbye... Thank you... my friends.

Chip waves them goodbye as he goes down into the lava where the planet piece is sealed. They'll soon realize... they will never see Chip again.

Back with Y/n...

Y/n's eyes are starting to twitch and he hears some voices that are familiar to him.

Pikachu: Pika, Pi! Pikachu!

Riolu: Rio!

Latios: Latios!

Latias: Latias!

Y/n begins to open his eyes as his vision clears up and sees Y/n's Summons are checking up on Y/n. His summons is happy and relieved that Y/n is okay, and nuzzled him with affection.

Y/n: *smile* Hey you guys, sorry I made you worried.

Y/n looked around his surroundings and he recognized the place. He arrived back in Apotos before he first came here.

Y/n: Hey, I know this place.

Y/n was right. The second he saw the windmill, he somehow arrived on Apotos safe and sound. Y/n noticed something is missing.

Y/n: Wait, where's Chip and Sonic-

Pikachu's ears began to twitch and looked at where it came from.

Pikachu: Pika, Pi!

Y/n, Riolu, Latios, and Latias looked where Pikachu was pointing and saw something falling but... coming toward them.

Sonic: Noooo!!!

Y/n: Incoming!!

Y/n and his summons got out of the way quickly and Sonic crashed into the ground in the face. Sonic struggles to break free.

Y/n: I gotcha!

Y/n helps Sonic and he gets out. Sonic felt a bit dizzy from the impact.

Sonic: Owww... Thanks, Y/n!

Y/n: No prob! Looks like we did it. Right, guys?

Y/n's Summons: *smile* Pika!/Rio!/Tios!/Tias!

Sonic: Yeah! We did, right Chip-? Chip, where are you?

They noticed that Chip was missing. They looked around until Sonic caught a glimpse of Chip.

Sonic: Huh?

However, instead of Chip, they saw a necklace that Chip wore. Y/n slowly realized before he fell unconscious, Chip was left behind in the lava as the planet piece was closing in. Chip saved Sonic and Y/n.

Y/n: Sonic... is that? Did he?

Sonic picks up Chip's necklace and shows them.

Sonic: Chip... Chip saved us. He sacrificed himself to save us.

Y/n and his summons are shocked and saddened by Chip's sacrifice to save Sonic and his friends. The one who took the hardest... is Latias. Latias cries for her lost friend, Latios comforts his sister while Pikachu and Riolu are in tears as well. Y/n was still sad and patted their heads.

Y/n: *sad* Yeah... I know. I'll miss him too. But I know... we will never forget about him.

Everyone sadly smiled and agreed with Y/n, until they heard a familiar voice.

Chip: I'll never forget you all. I'll be here with you all, always. A part of the earth you tread.

Sonic and his friends smiled at Chip's voice and also said...

Chip: Y/n... no matter if you are a demon or not, you'll always be my friend. Pikachu, Riolu, Latios... and you too, Latias. I lived on... inside your hearts and spirit. Thank you, my friends. I'm glad that I met you all.

Pikachu, Riolu, Latios, and Latias are smiling and in tears of happiness that they made a connection with Chip. Sonic is happy to hear Chip's voice. Y/n closed his eyes and smiled, tears formed in his eyes.

Y/n: 'I know a devil may cry loses their loved ones, especially losing their great friends.'

Y/n wiped his tears and opened his eyes as his summons and Sonic looked at the sunrise with a strong resolve and determination, and smiled. Y/n will never forget his friends and family, protecting what matters to them. The wind gently blows.

Sonic: Thank you, Chip. For everything.

Y/n: 'Chip... Thank you... my friend.' I know the road my heart walks.

All of a sudden, Sonic, Y/n and his summons saw a shiny glow coming from Chip's necklace. Chip's necklace floats up above their heads. Y/n's Rebellion's Oath magically appears in his hand.

Y/n felt as if he knew what to do, he positioned his keyblade and pointed at the bottom. The tip of Y/n's Keyblade glows as his emblem below him. The wind blows him, to a place in the void where dark clouds and light. Chip's necklace glows, shoots a ray upwards and a keyhole is formed. Y/n jumps back, twirls his keyblade, pointing at the keyhole, tip glows, shoots a ray of light through the keyhole, and hears a locked sound.

(Note: I'm doing how Sora does in Kingdom Hearts 2.)

The world is saved from the destruction of Dark Gaia and Eggman's plan of world domination. Sonic is amazed by what he has witnessed.

Sonic: Hey Y/n, you know what's up with that light show?

Y/n: *smile* Yeah. That means everything is fine here. You know what... I'd say Chip made the right choice, for calling me here, to help.

Sonic and Y/n's Summons smile at Y/n's response. Unexpectedly, Chip's necklace glows green and forms a portal after Dark Gaia was sealed. Y/n recognized that same portal before he got sucked in.

Sonic: Y/n, is that the same portal you got dragged into?

Y/n: Yeah. It's time for us to go back home.

Pikachu: *smile* Pika, Pi! Pikachu!

Riolu: *smiles* Rio! Rio!

Latios: *smile* Tios!

Latias: *smile* Tias!

Y/n's Summons went up to Sonic as they were hugging him, Sonic smiled and accepted. Y/n smiled and his summons went back inside Y/n.

Y/n: Hey Sonic, is it alright if we come back to visit?

Sonic: You kidding, sure you can! I want to meet those Fairy Tail guys, it will be awesome to see them in action! Besides, this is not a goodbye. If it is, we'll forget about our connection. Just saying, see you later.

Sonic reaches his hand for a handshake and smiles. Y/n went to Sonic, smiled, and shook Sonic's hands. Y/n started to run towards the portal while looking back at Sonic and giving him a thumbs-up.

Y/n: *smiles* I hope we'll meet again soon!

Sonic: *smirk* You bet! It's gonna be awesome!

Y/n has gone through the portal as it's starting to vanish. Sonic puts Chip's necklace on his wrist and sees the sunrise.

Sonic: *smirk* 'I wonder what those guys in Fairy Tail look like.'

Sonic has started to run through the road.

(Ending songs and credits starts at 1:04)

Tails fly down with his Tornado-2 and see Sonic running on the ground.

Tails: Hey Sonic!

Sonic looked to see Tails waving at him while flying in his Tornado-2 and Sonic's two fingers saluted and smiled.

Sonic: Hey Tails!

Tails: I received word from the professor that Amy is throwing a party in Shamar! Race you there!

Sonic: *smirk* Hehe you're on!

Sonic and Tails started to race back to Shamar.

Meanwhile at the ocean of skies...

Y/n finally begins to travel back to Earthland where his loved ones, friends, and family are waiting for his safe return.

Y/n: *smile* 'I felt so much better and a lot stronger than before. Because... I am... no longer alone. I can feel many connections with my friends, my lovers, and my family. They're with me... within my heart and soul. I'll keep fighting like I always have, to protect what matters to me. Thank you, Sonic, Chip, and everyone. I'll never forget the times we had. Kuroka, Asia, Chisato, Ur, Natsu, Happy, Lucy, Everyone, I'm sorry I've been gone for a while but I'm on my way back, right now!

(At 2:04, this story ends with a title card appearing)
