3rd POV:

Back at Spagonia University at night time...

They have arrived and successfully rescued Professor Pickle and recovered the ancient documents from Eggman's secret laboratory. Everyone is having a bit of a tea break, especially Chip who enjoys it the most.

Y/n: So those ancient documents, does it have any to do with all of this Professor?

Pickle: You're correct young Y/n. These ancient documents are known as the Gaia Manuscripts. They tell the legend of a disaster that befell our planet, some tens of thousands of years ago.

Tails: A disaster?

Y/n: Wait, did something like this happen before?

Pickle: I'm afraid so. And according to the Gaia Manuscripts, this isn't the first time the planet has been broken apart into pieces.

Sonic, Tails, and Y/n are shocked to their core that something like this happened in the past.

Y/n: 'Geez, this might be a lot to take in. The planet is split apart and yet we're still here. Those dark minions appear in the night. And that portal has been disrupted that I got dragged into.' And where does all of this come from?

Pickle: I'm glad we're on the right question. The cause lies at the very core of the planet. All of the phenomena we've witnessed are the direct result of one creature- the hyper-energy organism spawned from the planet's core, Dark Gaia.

Y/n: Dark Gaia huh? That sounds like a deity of destruction. 'If we can find a way to take it down.'

Pickle: Indeed it is.

Tails: So how do we stop this Dark Gaia and put the world back together in place?

Pickle: Luckily, Dark Gaia has yet to be fully reborn. We most likely have Eggman's premature wake-up call to thank for that.

Sonic: Thanks a lot, egghead.

Y/n: So there is a way.

Pickle: Indeed. If we act now, we may be able to restore the planet by returning the power to the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic and Y/n, you must travel to each of the temples listed in the Gaia Manuscripts. The planet's power will restore the Chaos Emeralds, and in turn, the Chaos Emeralds will restore the planet and help it heal naturally.

Sonic: So Y/n... are you ready for this?

Y/n looked at them with a toothy smile.

Y/n: Heh you need to ask? I'm definitely in. I'm up to myself stronger, filled with thrilling adventures.

Tails: Wow I'm surprised how you managed to understand this.

Y/n: Eh well, I went through school while my memories were sealed and have been working on my job. You know, multitask.

Chip and Sonic: What?! Your memories were sealed too?!

Y/n: Yeah it's a long and complicated story until it comes back and I know who I am.

Tails: Wow, that's amazing Y/n! Well, either way, I'm in too!

Tails' remote device is starting to beep, he checks it and he's shocked by what's happening.

Tails: Oh no, this isn't good!

Sonic: Tails, what's wrong?

Tails: My readings show that Eggman is already on the move at Mazuri! He's forcing tell the villagers where the Temple of Gaia is!

Sonic: Looks like we have to find it before he does. Let's go, everyone!

Y/n, Tails, and Chip: Right!

Pickle: If you manage to restore the planet and Chaos Emerald, inform me when you have returned. Good luck and be safe on your journey.

Sonic, Tails, Chip, and Y/n rushed toward the Mazuri again, to locate the Temple of Gaia before it was too late.

At the village of Mazuri in daylight, Eggman has his aerial and ground robots attempting to invade the villagers. The villagers were unable to answer as Eggman is forcing them to tell them.

Man: Wh-who are you?

Eggman: Oh ho ho ho! Fear not, my good villagers. If you all behave, I won't have to do anything nasty. All you need to do is tell me where the Temple of Gaia is.

Kid: We're not telling you anything!

The villagers noticed the kid rock at Eggman's face. Making Orbot and his robots laugh. But Eggman is furious as he shuts Orbot and his robots up, the villagers are getting anxious about what he's about to do.

Eggman: So you dare to defy me do you?

All of a sudden, a blue blur rushing from the sky homing attacks the ground robots and lands in front of the villagers along with Chip.

Eggman: Sonic?! I still have-!

???: Don't move!

A white-haired person with his Yamato has rapid slashes at Eggman's aerial robots, he lands gracefully, slowly sheathing his katana until clicks and the robots are destroyed.

Eggman: What?! Impossible?!

Sonic: Yo Eggman! Thanks for that little skydiving adventure from the other day!

Eggman: I should have known you'd still be alive, you stubborn little hedgehog! And who is that?!

Sonic: That's my new friend who will help me to take you and Dark Gaia down!

Y/n: That's right egghead, soon your reign of terror will be scrambled. Pfft, or on toast. Like an egg man, get it?

Everyone is holding back their laughter from Y/n's joke.

Sonic: *laughed* Wow, I love it! I gotta remember that line!

Eggman: Why that fidgety little brat-!

Sonic: Anyway, what are you doing out here?

Eggman: Bwah! I see no reason to tell you! In any case, I'm busy! Farewell!

Eggman has fled away from the village.

Chip: Wha-? Hey! Wait! That's playing dirty! Come back!

Sonic: Just ignore him.

Y/n: So, that Eggman huh?

Sonic: Yep that's him alright.

Y/n: Pfft! Wow, he does look like an egg. He doesn't look tough, I can take him on with no problem.

Sonic: Glad you think so. Is everyone here alright?

The villagers of Mazuri have thanked them for saving them. The elder shortly explained that Eggman is attempting to locate the Temple of Gaia, he gave them the direction of where he is heading through the Entrance Stage and they were heading there fast.

(Savannah Citadel Day Theme)

They arrived on the stage, Sonic and Y/n stretched their arms, legs, and muscles as they were ready to race.

Sonic and Y/n: *smirk* Here we... GO!

Sonic and Y/n begin to run through the dirt road as Sonic is drifting and taking hard turns. To Sonic's reaction, Y/n has summoned his Cavaliere and is doing the same as Sonic is doing.

They notice there are Eggman's robots up ahead, they smirked and they have boosted through and they're destroyed. They see some buildings, Sonic bursts through first while Y/n switches his Cavaliere to Rebellion's Oath and catches up to Sonic. Sonic homing attacks on those robots while Y/n slashes through the robots as well. They were swinging from pole to pole, jumping on the wall, and Sonic running on the wall along Y/n with his Flowmotion.

They have passed through the buildings, but it's not over. They ran on the dirt road as they drifted and took hard turns. And they see a giant tree also, there's a goal on top of it.

Sonic: We're almost there, Y/n!

Y/n: I see it, let's keep this momentum going!

They run to the giant tree and they see more obstacles to getting to the top of where the goal is. They managed to avoid most of the traps, jumping across, grinding rails, etc. And then, they finally made it to the goal.

(Day Stage ended)

Chip: Woah, we made it!

Sonic: Whew we sure did. I'm still surprised that you managed to get through this.

Y/n: Yeah I got most of the good workout. And I guess we have something in common.

Sonic: Hehe it's what we do best.

Their moment has ended as Eggman and his creation have passed through them.

Y/n: Whoa is that!?

Sonic: Yeah that's Eggman and his robot!

Y/n: I bet he's still looking for the temple along the road.

Y/n was about to summon his Cavaliere when they heard a ringtone close by.

Chip: It's coming from you, Y/n.

Y/n checked through his pocket, and took out his Gummiphone to see an unknown number, he answered it, and its Tails.

Tails: Hey guys!

Sonic: Hey Tails, where are you?

Y/n: And how did you get through my phone?

Tails: I managed to link my device to your phone. Look above you.

Sonic, Chip, and Y/n looked up to see Tails in his Tornado-1 flying towards them, Tails tossed something large, it revealed like a hoverboard to Y/n.

Tails: It's called Extreme Gear, you can use that to catch up to Eggman.

Sonic: That's Tails for ya, always prepared.

Y/n: Yeah thanks Tails, I appreciate it.

Tails: Thanks and good luck.

The phone call has ended. Y/n hopped on his Extreme Gear and got used to it already. Y/n performed another summon.

Y/n: Courage!

Y/n summoned Pikachu and landed on his shoulder.

Y/n: Hey little buddy, are you ready for this?

Pikachu: *nod* Pika!

Sonic: Alright, let's stop Eggman!

Sonic is running on while Y/n with Pikachu on his shoulder, is riding on his Extreme Gear chasing where Eggman and his invention are. Unaware of Eggman, Y/n and Sonic have caught up with him already.

Y/n, Sonic, and Pikachu: Eggman!/Pika!

Eggman: Rrgh?! How'd you get here so quickly? No matter. Your road ends here!

Eggman has turned towards them along with his invention. Sonic and Y/n have stopped their track facing Eggman.

Y/n: Man, this guy means business.

Sonic: Yeah, get ready.

Eggman: Behold, my new power! Egg Beetle, Go!

Eggman goes inside the Egg Beetle and his invention is ready to pierce them. Sonic flexed his feet as he was ready, Y/n readied his ride also equipped with his Rebellion's Oath and Pikachu was ready as his cheeks were sparkling.

Egg Beetle began driving backward as it faced them. Sonic and Y/n are starting after Eggman from a safe distance.

Eggman: Ah, you unsuspecting little hedgehog! My Egg Beetle's claws will shred all of you into pieces!

Sonic: We'll see about that Eggman!

Eggman sends out his bombs to block them. Sonic and Y/n have managed to evade them. As the Egg Beetle ready its claws, Sonic sees the opening as he boosted him two times and Y/n has an idea.

Y/n: Pikachu, use Volt Tackle!

Pikachu ran towards Eggman Pikachu charged head-on with electricity and made a hit the third time as Eggman skidded back. Pikachu landed back on Y/n's shoulder.

Y/n: Ha! That will leave a mark!

Sonic: Wow, nice one little buddy!

Pikachu: Pikachu!

Eggman: Gahh!!! Why you little!!!

Eggman used its claws to slash them, luckily Y/n grabbed Sonic's hands and evaded it in time. As Y/n is closer to the Egg Beetle, he sees an opportunity to attack him. Y/n lunged his Keyblade as he performed a Stinger three times with power.

Eggman: Rrraagghh!!! You're even more stubborn than Sonic! Take this!!!

Eggman sends out his missiles as they avoid them. As Egg Beetle ready his claws, Sonic did a homing attack on Eggman. The Egg Beetle is gone smoking.

Eggman: Gahhh! No! No! No! This can't be happening!

Y/n: Sonic, I have an idea. When you do that thing, on my mark go for it!

Sonic: You got it!

As Sonic jumps and prepares his homing attack, Y/n has another idea.

Y/n: Pikachu, coat Sonic with Electroweb! Now, Sonic!

Sonic and Pikachu: Okay!/Pika!

Sonic spun himself, Pikachu uses Electroweb around Sonic, did an electric homing attack at Eggman, made a direct hit, and made the Egg Beetle explode.

Y/n: Oh yeah, we won!

Sonic: Ha! Same as ever, all bark and no bite!

Pikachu: Pika! Pikachu!

They celebrated their victory and rested a bit.

(Boss Battle Daytime ended)

Eggman: Rrgh! I'll destroy you next time Sonic, along with those pesky runs.

Eggman has fled away from the continent in defeat.

Sonic: Heh! We'll see about that Eggman! *looks at Y/n and Pikachu* You know, we make a great team. And thanks for the help, little guy.

Y/n: Yeah I can agree with that! Awesome work as always Pikachu!

Pikachu: *smiles* Pika! Pi, Pikachu!

Chip: Hey guys!

Sonic, Y/n, and Pikachu looked at Chip as he showed them what he had found. What appears to be an ancient temple at the bottom.

Sonic: Is that the Temple of Gaia?

Y/n: Only one way to find out.

Pikachu: Pika, Pi!

Chip: Let's go check it out!

Everyone looked at each other and nodded. They all jumped down towards the temple to investigate.

They entered and walked through the temple and they were amazed by how large the inside of the temple is.

Chip: Woah! Awesome!

Sonic: What is this place?

Y/n: Whatever this place is, it must be ancient, that's for sure.

Pikachu: Pikachu!

As they continue walking, Chip notices a central pillar up ahead.

Chip: Hey guys! There's something weird here, right in the middle!

Chip flies over the central area of that pillar and sees a hole that can fit a certain object.

Chip: Hey, what's this hole?

Sonic: Wait! There could be some kind of-!

All of a sudden the whole temple is starting to shake.

Y/n: What the?!

Chip: Woah, wha-?! HEY!

Chip starts to run away and hide behind Sonic, Pikachu, and Y/n as they make their battle stance. They see there's another pillar popping out there. They dropped their guard and slowly walked towards it. They noticed a small hole that can fit a certain object.

Chip: Hmm? What's that?

Y/n: Hey Sonic, try putting the Chaos Emerald in there.

Sonic: Yeah.

Sonic placed the Chaos Emeralds in that hole, and it started to float up to their heights, green light brightened the emerald and it fully restored its power.

Everyone: *amazed* Whoa!/Pika!

Chip: Wahoo! The emeralds' come back to life!

Y/n: Wow, so that's what the Chaos Emeralds look like. And this place must be it.

Sonic: This was the Temple of Gaia! That's got to be why Eggman is keen on taking the place over!

As one of Chaos Emeralds is restored, the whole temple is starting to shake, but even stronger.

Chip: Whoa! Here we go again!

Y/n: This time, it's a big one!

As the entire temple has stopped shaking, they run towards the exit.

Tails: Sonic! Y/n! Good news!

Sonic and Y/n stopped their track as Chip fell forward and Pikachu helped him up. They see Tails flying up and flying down where they are.

Tails: The planet! One of the broken pieces of the planet moved into place!

Y/n: So it did work? Awesome!

Sonic: Alright! Nice job everyone!

Everyone clapped on each other's hands.

Tails: Take a look.

Everyone looked at Tails' remote device and from that screen proved it, one of the broken pieces of the planet came back into place.

Sonic: Sweet!

Tails: At this rate, we'll have the whole world together in no time!

Sonic: A planet-sized jigsaw puzzle? Sounds like a great excuse to see the world!

Y/n: No doubt about that. That's one down, and six to go.

Tails: Head back and tell the professor about the good news everyone!

Everyone: *smile* Yeah!/Pika!

To their success, they have managed to restore one of Chaos Emeralds' power and in turn one of the broken pieces of the planet moved into place. That was only just the beginning. It's one down, and six more to go.
