All five knights have arrived at each stone pillar and once they smash their sword into the stone, the stone wall depicts some sort of writing. Meanwhile, Sonic and Y/N are heading into the dragon's lair they have went before but farther inside.

"A dragon's lair? Just our luck..." Sonic said.

"We'll be fine as long as we don't disturb anything." Caliburn assured.

"If we fall here, we'll be in trouble." Sonic whistled.

Him and Y/N jumped over the other side of the road after it suddenly fall off, breaking apart. Once they made it, they slay off dark knights before jumping over another side of the road as more of them fall off. They then slay off more dark knights until they eventually made it up.

"I'd say up's the way to go." Y/N said.

Slay after slay as they go up while destroying some crystals that are in their way. They stopped to see a tall dark knight as they easily slice it and slice it again with their trusty sword, taking it out as it disappeared into dust. They then kept on going as they jumped up and up and they flew up high in the air and swung themself from the pointy crystal from the cave ceiling. Sonic and Y/N landed on some kind of lightning road.

"Is th-that some kind of a... thunder dragon?!" Wolflobe asked.

"You mean this is some kinda dragon too?" Sonic asked.

"Strange..." Y/N said.

They slay off more dark knights as well as taking down crystals until they landed on the same lightning road that came from the yellow crystal that Y/N had noticed earlier.

"Take too long and there won't be any road left!"

Sonic and Y/N jumped off the lightning and landed safely to the next ground as they slay the dark knights again and the flying dark creatures. They landed on the lightning road again that was activated for them.

"Enemies from above, too?!" Y/N asked.

"Danger comes from all directions!" Caliburn shouted.

"Whoa, uninvited guests?" Sonic asked, seeing the dark flying creatures and took them out along with Y/N.

"Quick! Ready yourself!" Wolflobe instructed.

After slaying off the flying creatures, they jumped off the lightning road.

"Down is the way I'd say!"

Sonic and Y/N stabbed the cave wall using Caliburn and Wolflobe and dragged themselves down as they did the same thing when they saw a few more broken roads that have fallen off as they jumped over while slaying off the dark knights.

"Just a bit more."

"Make haste and be done with it already."

They then eventually made it after going through many courses as they stopped nearby to see a cave and loud stomp was heard in the distance. It revealed to be a real dragon called the Earth Dragon. It has red and brown with a yellow horn on top of its head. Its mouth and under its neck and torso are peach-colored.

"Let's get this party started." Sonic grinned.

"Heck, yeah." Y/N smirked in excitement.

"Never underestimate your opponent, especially when it's a dragon!" Caliburn warned.

Earth Dragon roared at them after eating the flying creature.

"We cannot withstand such a blast. Evade the beast's attack by weaving from side to side!" Wolflobe said.

Sonic and Y/N did what Wolflobe told them as they move side to side from the fire being blown towards them from the Earth Dragon. Caliburn noticed something on the dragon's head as they are coming closer.

"Is that... its weak point? Time to go in for a closer look!"

"Here goes nothing!"

Sonic and Y/N jumped over the dragon and landed on its head and started cutting the big crystal horn rather fast. Earth Dragon roared in pain as the hedgehog siblings jumped off of it and the dragon back away from them, getting back inside the cave. Sonic and Y/N goes after it as they head to the other side where they see another cave in front of them and Earth Dragon comes out again.

"Heh! What's up with all that running around?"

"Sonic!" Y/N scolded, glaring at him.

"Fool! Don't get cocky! And stay sharp!" Caliburn scolded.

"Incoming!" Wolflobe warned.

Earth Dragon started firing off balls of fire as they line up. Sonic and Y/N quickly slay off the dark knights that are popping out of nowhere while dodging off the fireballs. Those attacks mean nothing to them as they are now close to the Earth Dragon again.

"Here goes nothin!"

Sonic and Y/N jumped up to the dragon again and landed on its head as they cut the crystal horn again and again very fast. Y/N noticed that the crystal horn is starting to crack, knowing they are close. The Earth Dragon roared in pain again and ran back inside the cave. Sonic and Y/N jumped to the other side as they met the Earth Dragon again after it got out of its hiding from the cave.

"Let's finish it off already!"

"Patience, bro! We're almost there!"

"She's right. Never throw caution to the wind." Caliburn said. "After all, you never know what to expect."

Earth Dragon started blow more fires than ever both the blast and balls. Sonic and Y/N dodged away the dark knights as they burn into crisp, not wanting to deal with them. They quickly dodged the fires, hiding behind the pillar.

"Hm... This pillar... It appears it could snap at any time. Perhaps we could use it somehow." Wolflobe said.

Sonic and Y/N nodded to each other and started slicing off the pillar.

"Now that's what I call a roar!"

They head to the next pillar as they did the same by slicing it off. The pillar then started falling hitting against the next pillar to the next pillar.

"Now that's what I call a battle!"

"Awesome!"

"You can thank me later!" Wolflobe said.

"You did a wonderful job, Wolflobe." Caliburn said.

The last pillar then fall onto the Earth Dragon, hitting its crystal horn in the process as it was now broken. The Earth Dragon is now dead.

"We did it!" Y/N cheered. "Nice one, Wolflobe!"

"No problem."

"Whoo-hoo!!" Sonic cheered.

After slaying the Earth Dragon, Sonic and Y/N arrives at a stone pillar.

"This must be it."

"Yep."

Sonic and Y/N smashes Caliburn and Wolflobe into the stone. The stone wall depicts some sort of writing.

"Now, Sonic!" Caliburn ordered.

"Do it now, Y/N!" Wolflobe ordered.

"Here goes!!" Sonic and Y/N shouted.

Nimue is watching the map with the barrier up in the reflecting pool, and the Dark Hollow spreading.

"Oh, no! The barrier is too weak!"

Sonic and Y/N are back outside where the castle is.

"Now's the time." Sonic said.

"Indeed." Caliburn agreed.

"Let's go!!" Y/N shouted.

Sonic and Y/N runs and roller skates toward the Hollow.

Merlina, now transformed as the Dark Queen, is sitting on a throne.

"I've been expecting you two."

"Just one question before we settle this. Why'd you do it?" Sonic asked.

"Yeah. Weren't we trying to save this kingdom from the underworld?" Y/N asked.

"This kingdom will fail one way or another. Such is its fate." Merlina said.

"Huh?"

"What?"

"Do you know what is to become of this kingdom?"

"Beats me."

"No."

The Dark Queen starts to walk forward.

"Lancelot and Gawain's rift shall doom the Round Table. Arthur is struck down by his son Mordred, and departs for Avalon."

Sonic and Y/N didn't say anything as they listen.

"This was to be our ideal world. But it will not last... King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table will end in ruin. The King Arthur my grandfather Merlin created led to nothing but mistakes... But I can succeed with the power of the scabbard. Creating a kingdom that never ends."

Merlina uses a small portal to summom a flower. A flashback with Merlina picking up the same flower. Sonic and Y/N finally realizes what her plans are.

"What good is a world that goes on forever!?"

"My sorrow at its ruin runs deeper than the depths of the underworld. Do you not understand?"

"No! And we don't want that!" Y/N shouted, glaring at her.

Sonic and Y/N charges at the Dark Queen but she uses a force field to repel them.

"Your efforts are futile."

"Raaaaaahhh!!!"

"Haaaaaahhh!!!"

Sonic and Y/N charges at the Dark Queen again but with a series of rapid slashes, they are repelled once again.

"No way!"

"What?!"

The Dark Queen's shadow manifests in the shape of King Arthur with many tentacles behind her. The creature will tries to hit Sonic and Y/N with one of its tentacles.

"Sonic!"

"Y/N!"

Caliburn and Wolflobe raises Sonic's and Y/N's hand and guards them.

"Caliburn!"

"Wolflobe!"

"You fool!" Caliburn scolded.

"A knight must always be on his guard!" Wolflobe said.

The Dark Queen commands her shadow and slashes Caliburn and Wolflobe in half.

"No!!"

"Noooooooooo!!!"

"Wolflobe!! Caliburn!!"

Sonic and Y/N charges at the Dark Queen, but are hit. Charges once again and are hit back.

"It is time to end this."

The Dark Queen's shadow extends its tentacles longer.

"Aaaaaaaaahhh!!!"

Sonic and Y/N are rapidly thrashed by the shadow. Nimue, Percival, Galahad, Lancelot, Lamorak, and Gawian are watching from a reflecting pool above.

"Sir Sonic! Sir Y/N! You've done enough!" Percival said.

Sonic and Y/N grabs Caliburn and Wolflobe and gets back up.

"No, Sonic, Y/N! There is no point in continuing!" Lancelot shouted, wanting Y/N to live.

"You can't win! Move!" Lamorak shouted, feeling worried for Y/N.

"A knight... never... flees... his foe, right?" Sonic grunted.

"Never... give up..." Y/N grunted.

"You fool! This no longer has anything to do with chivalry! Get out of there! Run!" Gawain shouted.

"Please! Just listen and leave!" Galahad pleaded, not wanting Y/N to die.

Sonic and Y/N gets back up.

"It was never about chivalry for us..."

"...We just gotta do what we've gotta do, that's all."

"Sonic! Y/N!!" Lancelot, Lamorak, Gawain, Galahad, and Percival yelled.

A golden and blue light appears from the reflecting pool.

"The long-lost light of the sacred sword! Quick, your swords!" Nimue said.

Lancelot, Lamorak, Gawain, Galahad, and Percival throw their sacred swords in the light. The light travels to Sonic and Y/N.

Sonic gains a golden armor and a red cape. Caliburn is restored in the form of Excalibur. Upon finishing the transformation, Excalibur releases a burst of light energy. Y/N gains a blue and white armor and a dark blue cap. Wolflobe is restored as well as the crystal around her neck is powering up Wolflobe in the form of Excalibur as well.

"Whoa..."

"So cool..."

"That's the greatest of the sacred swords, Excalibur!" Nimue gasped.

"Heh! Let's do this!!" Sonic declared.

"Ready as I'll ever be!!" Y/N nodded.

"You would not understand, nor could you understand. That's why I must do what I must do. I am finished with you two."

Dark Queen changed into the appearance of a giant ghostly version of King Arthur. This spectral form of King Arthur, while sharing many of his characteristics, is colored completely black with an aura of blue flames, is equipped with an eye on its chest, has four arms, whereas two of the arms are connected at the hips, a cloth-like tail and no legs. On the back of this form, Merlina has dozens of cape-like energy strips floating, and a large circle composed of medieval symbols at the top of her back. In her two lowers arms she has two copies of Deathcalibur, and in her two upper arms she has two short orb-like wands.

"What good is a world that goes on forever? That sounds pretty lame."

"I agree."

Dark Queen summon an invisible wall toward them, but Sonic and Y/N deals enough blows to it. Once the wall is broken, the Dark Queen starts firing multiple energy balls in strings which Sonic and Y/N deflect them left and right with their sword.

"Can't you get close somehow?" Caliburn asked.

"We'd have a good chance to win if you could close the gap!" Wolflobe said.

"We're gonna wait for a chance to counter while our Soul Gauge goes up!"

Sonic and Y/N dodged to the left from energy balls Dark Queen summon again.

"We've gotta counterattack with just the right timing!" Y/N said.

Dark Queen attack them in the same way King Arthur attacks Sonic and Y/N with his sword. Sonic and Y/N block each blow by swinging their sword at the right time as Y/N said, very fast.

"Heh heh! There's no escape!" Sonic grinned.

Sonic and Y/N backed far away from Dark Queen in any more attack from her before flying back towards her.

"Your blades cannot touch me." Dark Queen said before summoning mutiple energy balls toward them, but was dodged.

"Tsk! What the heck are we gonna do?!"

"We have to do something!"

"You must wait for your chance to close in for the kill!" Caliburn said.

Sonic and Y/N deflect off the arm that was about to swing at them.

"Time to go all out with Soul Surge!"

"Yeah!"

Sonic and Y/N swung their sword again at the right time very fast against her swords. They back away again and go back to Dark Queen as they quickly evade right or left from the invisible wall again.

"We're gonna bring battle to her, up close and personal!"

"Don't underestimate Excalibur reborns!"

Sonic and Y/N zoomed in towards the weak point to where the chest is and started slashing it off rapidly. They backed away again, noticing Dark Queen is getting weak.

"Heh heh! Our trusty swords' gonna teach you a lesson!"

"You bet they will!"

Sonic and Y/N dodged or deflect off the energy balls and invisible walls again.

"Wait for your counterattack chance while while the Soul Gauge goes up!" Wolflobe said.

They deflect off the arm that was about to swing at them.

"Listen carefully. Timing is everything! Swing your sword at exactly the right moment." Caliburn said.

Sonic and Y/N did what they were told as they did it a right time and started to rapidly slashing off its chest. They backed away once more and noticed Dark Queen's form turned black and inflamed as she summon an even bigger invisible wall.

"She appears quite worn down. You could probably get through to her now." Wolflobe said.

Sonic and Y/N deflect off the wall and energy balls while deflecting her swords she was about to swing. They then zoomed in towards her chest and began slashing off once again.

"Now! Just keep slashing!"

They backed away again and did the same thing until they are now close to her chest and slash it off again and again.

"It's over now."

With one final blow after getting away from Dark Queen, they raised their sword and zoomed in towards her. They activate their Soul Surge as they both glow bright gold and blue with circular seal made of two decorated rings (one large and one smaller) just like Galahad's straight into Dark Queen's chest.

"There's nothing Excaliburs can't cut through!"

"Aaaaaaaaah! But, I... I... Aaaaaaaaah!!!"

Dark Queen was now defeated as she dissolve. Sonic and Y/N gave each other thumbs up.
