Chapter 3: A Little Jojo Sitting
On a bright and sunny afternoon in Racheal's house, Eve is visiting both Racheal and Jojo today. Mainly because Rachel is going to be going out for her fiance, and Eve is baby sitting Jojo. Eve and Jojo are in the living room as Rachel is now formally dressed and ready to head out tonight.
"Thank you for watching over Jojo tonight. My original sitter had to call in sick at the last minute and I needed someone at the last minute," Rachel says.
"It's no trouble. I'm surprised you trust me enough to watch Jojo," Eve says and sheep only smiles, "Consider what happened the last time we came to your house."
"Well, I'm still pretty mad at Tom for that little stunt, but you were able to earn my respect, and you seem more responsible than your brother," Rachel says.
"Yeah. Despite me having fun of my own, I'm kind of more responsible and reasonable than Sonic is," Eve says.
"Good. There's some leftovers in the fridge, and the emergency number is on the counter if you need anything. And make sure Jojo gets to bed at nine since it's a school night," Rachel says.
"I will. Have a good night," Eve says.
"Bye mom," Jojo says.
"Bye, and have fun tonight," Rachel says.
Then Rachel leaves to have her night with her fiance.
Eve turns to Jojo and asks, "So Jojo, what do you wanna do today?"
"You wanna play on the switch. I got a new video game to play," Jojo says.
"Sound good. Let me lock the windows and doors," Eve says.
Eve checks the doors and windows and locks them all just in case. Then Eve returns to the living room so they can play a video game.
"So Jojo, what new game did you get?" Eve asks.
"It's a kart racing game," Jojo says, holding the game.
"Sounds nice. By the way, since you have school, have you finished your homework?" Eve replies.
Jojo happily nods, "Yeah. I made sure to finish it so we can have fun together."
"In that case, let's go play," Eve says.
With that, Eve and Jojo begin to play the kart racing game and are having a good time. They've been playing it for at least over an hour or so. For the racing results, Eve ends up winning many of the races in the game.
Jojo giggles and says, "You're really good at this game."
"Thanks. I don't play video games so much, but I think they're fun, especially when it comes to going super fast," Eve says.
"You really like going fast, just like Sonic," Jojo says.
"Yeah. Sonic and I have a lot of fun, especially when we race against each other," Eve says.
Then rolls her eyes, "Of course, my brother can be a bit too playful and gets us into trouble."
Jojo giggles with a smile on her face.
Eve then places the game console on the table, "Well, I think we played long enough, anything else you wanna do?"
"I am kind of hungry," Jojo says.
"Okay. Your mom said there's some leftovers in the fridge so we heat them up," Eve says.
Moments later, Eve and Jojo have some leftover macaroni and cheese. Eve also has a salad with it as well.
"So how's Sonic doing?" Jojo asks.
"Sonic is doing good, and he's still trying to turn himself into a superhero, but like two or three times, we end up getting ourselves into trouble and kind of made a mess of things," Eve says.
Jojo giggles, "Sounds like you both have a lot of fun."
"Yeah. We really do. It's been ten years since we first met each other," Eve says.
Confused, Jojo asks, "What do you mean?"
"Oh well, you see. This is going to sound a bit strange but, Sonic isn't really my brother. What I mean, is that we don't share the same blood. Sonic and I are close so we thought of each other as brother and sister," Eve says.
"So then, where did you come from?" Jojo asks.
"The thing is, I don't know. Sonic told me that he came from an island on a different planet. As for me, I don't know. I mean, Sonic found me in an escape pod of some kind when we were around five," Eve says.
Flashback:
Suddenly, Young Sonic hears something and looks up in the night sky to see something flying across the sky. Then crashes into the darker part of the forest. Young Sonic gasps in shock, and runs to find the mysterious object that has crashed in the forest. When Sonic arrives, he sees a large crater with some cylinder-like capsule in the center.
"What's that?" Young Sonic asks.
Young Sonic cautiously walks over to the strange capsule. He has no clue what it is or what's in there. When he is about three feet close, the capsule opens, letting out some steam and smoke. Young Sonic quickly steps back in fright as the capsule opens and smoke and steam leave out of the capsule.
When the smoke and steam clears, Sonic decides to take a closer look inside the capsule. He gasps in surprise to see a young female hedgehog, around his age, the younger version of Eve. The only difference is that she is wearing a red dress with red, white, and yellow slip on shoes, white gloves, and a blue headband.
Young Sonic is surprised and wonders why a young hedgehog girl around his age is inside a capsule. Soon, the young female hedgehog slowly wakes up in her sleep and turns her head to see the young blue hedgehog. The young Eve screams in fright, and speeds out of the capsule and hides behind the tree.
"Wait, don't run away! I won't hurt you!" Young Sonic calls out.
Young Sonic approaches Young Eve who is hiding behind the tree.
He calmly calls out, "Don't be scared. I won't hurt you."
Young Eve looks out from her hiding place, "Ar-are you sure?"
"Yes. I'm sure. I want to see if you're okay," Young Sonic says.
Young Eve then slowly walks out of her hiding place and walks to Young Sonic.
Young Eve shyly says, "Um thank you."
Then asks, "So um, what's your name?"
"My name is Sonic. What's your name?" Sonic replies.
Young Eve lowers her head and feels a little shy. She then reaches her neck and pulls the gold chain to reveal a gold heart on it. She looks to see a word that says, 'Eve' on it.
She shyly says, "My name is uh, Eve."
"Oh, it's nice to meet you, Eve," Sonic says.
Flashback Ends:
"Somehow the capsule crashed down in the woods and Sonic found me soon after, but I never knew where I came from. I don't even remember where I came from or if I have a family," Eve explains.
She then smiles, "But it's okay. Sonic and I have been together for ten years, and now we have you, Tom, Maddie, Wade, well, and perhaps your mom."
"That's okay. I'm glad to see you're still happy," Jojo says.
"Thanks Jojo," Eve says. "But enough about me and my story, maybe we can watch a movie after we're done eating."
"Okay," Jojo says.
Throughout the rest of the time, Eve and Jojo finish having their dinner, they watch a movie, do some coloring, and have a quiet time together. The night has gone by and it's time for Jojo to get some sleep for the night. Jojo is dressed in her pajamas and climbs into bed.
Eve tucks Jojo into bed, "Goodnight Jojo."
"Goodnight Eve. Will you babysit me again sometime?" Jojo asks.
"I'm sure your mom won't mind. Of course, I can't be out too often, but we'll see where this goes," Eve says.
"Okay," Jojo says, and yawns.
"Sweet dreams Jojo," Eve says.
"Goodnight Eve," Jojo says, and soon drifts off to sleep.
Eve then leaves Jojo's bedroom and gently closes the door.
A little more time has passed and Eve is reading one of her books in the living room. Soon, she hears the door open and close. Eve suspects that Rachel is home. Eve walks over to see that it is Rachel who has just returned from her night out.
"Hi Rachel, I suspect your date went well," Eve says.
"It went well. And I can see things went well here too. Hope Jojo didn't give you any trouble," Rachel says.
"Not at all. We actually had a fun time this evening, and Jojo was a sweetheart. She was no trouble at all," Eve says with a smile on her face.
