A blue swirling portal appears at Soleanna New City and Sonic comes out of it. He hears a bell ringing and looks at a clock tower, reading noon. Not much time. He quickly regroups with Tails and Knuckles and heads for the Egg Carrier's hangar in Aquatic Base.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Silver and Blaze have arrived back at the future at the volcano. Silver is holding both Chaos Emeralds in each hand.

"I know how to save our world, now. We don't have to change the past. I'm sure of it."

"So you have a plan?"

Silver looks at her and nods.

"Well then, let's hurry. I sense his flames."

Blaze walks and looks around, then looks at Silver. Both look at each other and know what to do, and they walk into Flame Core together.

Silver and Blaze are running right up to confront Iblis, who emerges from the flames for one final fight.

"C'mon, Iblis! This time I'll finally stop you!" Silver declared.

Iblis gives out a roar and approaches to attack them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After the battle, the flame pillar rises up, and bits of magma fall onto the ground. Iblis becomes a ball of flame again. Silver holds out both Chaos Emeralds.

"Chaos Emeralds, lend me your power! Eternal Sun! The Living Flame that has been entrusted to the royal family! Fall into slumber with my soul, Iblis! You cursed Flames of Disaster!"

Both emeralds glow up, and Silver lets out a yell, as Iblis' flames are absorbed into both emeralds at once, which try to inject them as beams of light into Silver. However, the beams seem to hurt him rather than accept him, and light glows on his chest.

"No! Why won't it accept me as the vessel?"

Silver tries using his strength to seal Iblis in his body, but feels pain each time. Blaze puts her hand on his shoulder, and he looks at her.

"Blaze!"

"I'll take Iblis."

Silver looks at Blaze in shock.

"Don't worry. My soul is already alit with flames. I will be accepted."

Blaze takes the emeralds from him and uses their power between him and Iblis. The emeralds glow up as Silver kneels down, and Iblis is absorbed into both emeralds at once. Flames swirl around her as her chest glows up in light.

"Come on, make it quick. Use your Chaos Control... to stop time. Then... seal us into a different dimension."

"No! I can't do that to you!"

Blaze looks at him.

"Didn't we already go through this? We agreed to save the world at any price!"

Silver is stunned again, then tries to use Chaos Control, but can't do it.

"I can't! I wouldn't know what to do without you! You've fought alongside me to save the world... You're my friend... Right?"

Blaze looks disappointed.

"You're still so naive. But..."

She turns to face Silver.

"I... I've always liked that about you."

Blaze holds out both emeralds, then closes her eyes and focuses her thoughts, then uses their power of Chaos Control. A dark shield appears around her, and she drops both emeralds as she and Iblis fade into the void.

"Blaze!"

Silver chases the vanishing Blaze and stops at she floats up and waves goodbye.

"Good luck, Silver. Make sure Y/N is safe."

Blaze floats upward and glows up with Iblis as Silver looks up; she floats up to the clouds, and explodes in light. Rays of light descend upon Silver, and Crisis City brightens up, quenching the lava and the flames altogether. Silver looks up in the sky, and the sun appears in the now-clear sky above where Blaze had been. Silver stands next to the two emeralds as he mourns her loss next to the lava pool at the cliff.

Y/N who's in the dark room still had her eyes closed, suddenly dreaming about Blaze as she saw her standing before her with a smile.

"Who... are you?"

"I'm Blaze. Silver's friend. We're in the void."

"T-The void? Are you... am I...?"

"No. But I'm dead. I use all of my powers to destroy the Iblis."

Y/N frowns to hear that.

"Your friends and your brother are searching for you. Including Silver. They'll come for you."

"That's a good thing." Y/N smiled in relief.

"But you've got to be careful around Mephiles. Don't let him change the time. Something is going to happen, but I can't say it. You'll have to find a way to stop this. Save the world and time."

Y/N nodded.

"I will."

Suddenly, Blaze began to fade.

"My time is up. I can sense Mephiles seeks you. Good luck, Y/N."

"See you, Blaze."

With that Blaze disappeared as Y/N started to wake up. She opens her eyes to find herself no longer in the dark room, but in a ruins and she's chained up against the pillar with Mephiles floating before her, holding the yellow Chaos Emerald.

"Shadow and the others will come soon. Be ready for what's about to come."

"What are you going to do?"

Mephiles chuckled.

"You'll see."

Shadow, Rouge, and Omega are standing in the desert.

"Mephiles appears to have headed for those ruins. He's probably looking for the Chaos Emerald that's supposed to be there." Rouge informed, pointing ahead. "I sense that Y/N is there too."

"There's no doubt in my mind. His movement shows he's seeking any Chaos Emerald he can find. Supposedly, he needs one in order to join with Iblis again." Shadow said. "I can also sense Y/N. Her crystal magic is strong, which means she's still alive."

"I will seal him before that." Omega clenched his robotic fist.

Shadow, Rouge and Omega head towards the ruins.

Meawhile...

"Thrust increasing. Engine output at maximum. Course plotted." Egg Carrier Mother Computer said.

Egg Carrier is preparing to depart from Aquatic Base.

"Gate open. Lifting off."

Red machines holding the Egg Carrier in place detach and recede into the walls. The Egg Carrier proceeds to take off. Just then, Sonic is running along a catwalk above the Egg Carrier and jumping onto the craft, landing just on its metal tail before it could accelerate too much and he missed his chance to board and save Elise and Eggman. The Egg Carrier zooms off towards its inevitable demise.

Shadow, Rouge and Omega stop on a platform.

"Mephiles!" Shadow shouted, looking up to him.

Y/N gasps to see the Dark Team is here.

"Shadow! Rouge! Omega!"

"Y/N!" Shadow and Rouge exclaimed.

"We're here." Omega said, assuring her that they'll rescue her.

Mephiles turns around.

"I was expecting you sooner. As you must know, you're already too late." Mephiles holds out the yellow Chaos Emerald. "But there's still time for you to change your mind. Join me, Shadow. Let us teach this world a lesson and rewrite the future."

"Don't try to deceive me."

"What?"

"You have no desire for revenge. You only crave destruction. Your only lust is to fuel Iblis until there is nothing left of time itself." Shadow glared. "Now let Y/N go. I don't know why you want her, but she'll never be with you."

"It's a pity, Shadow The Hedgehog."

Mephiles levitates the yellow Chaos Emerald into the air.

"Truly a shame that you wish to go against me! If you want Y/N, try and get through me!"

"Be careful! He's too powerful!" Y/N warned.

Shadow, Rouge and Omega are pushed back by an invisible force and the entire platform's surface turns dark.

"I'll make sure you regret this, Shadow The Hedgehog!"

"Mephiles! I won't let you escape! I'll break you out as soon as I can Y/N!"

"We've got to save Y/N somehow while we deal with Mephiles!" Rouge said.

Y/N watches on helplessly as they fought off Mephiles and shadow monsters. Shadow mostly took care of Mephiles while Rouge and Omega fought off the shadow monsters. Omega tried to fly up to her, but Mephiles prevented him from that and brought out more shadows to attack him. After a battle, Shadow finally defeats Mephiles as Mephiles yells out.

"I am forever... I am... invincible..."

Y/N sighs in relief that it's over. Rouge quickly flies over to Y/N and unchained her off the pillar. She caught her before she could fall.

"You alright, sweetie?"

"Yeah... I'm fine. Thanks for coming for me..."

"No problem."

Rouge flies Y/N over to Shadow and Omega. Shadow looks at her and places his hand on her cheek, making Y/N blush.

"You're not hurt, are you, Y/N?"

"No. I'm okay."

Shadow nods, looking relieved and happy. He turned to Mephiles who melts into a puddle and Shadow tries to seal Mephiles in the Scepter of Darkness. However, the scepter explodes in a bright light when Mephiles enters it.

"It's destroyed!" Rouge shouted in shock.

"What?! It should've worked!" Y/N shouted in shock and fear.

Mephiles swirls into a solid figure in the air.

"The 'I' of now absorbed your power through your shadow in the past. What may have worked 10 years ago, no longer does!"

Mephiles releases shock waves that knocks Shadow, Y/N, Rouge, and Omega down briefly before using the green and yellow Chaos Emerald to make hundreds of copies of himself.

"You must realize now that you cannot hope to stop me with your limited power."

Mephiles turned to Y/N.

"As for you..."

She was suddenly leviated into the air before Shadow, Rouge, and Omega could reach her. Y/N was now back to Mephiles again and was forced to stay by his side. She tried to fight it, but he brought his clawed fingers towards her neck as he faced her.

"Make one wrong move, and your neck will be poisoned. We wouldn't want that would we?"

Y/N clenches her eyes, trying not to tear up.

"You..." Shadow growled.

Mephiles turned to Shadow.

"It's futile. The world will betray you. Why fight at all? Why risk your life for those who will persecute you later?"

Shadow removes his Inhibitor Rings.

"If the world chooses to become my enemy, I will fight like I always have!"

Shadow looks up to Y/N.

"I promise I'll come for you."

Y/N nods.

"I know."

The Mephiles copies swarm Shadow, Rouge and Omega, but Shadow unleashes a large yellow aura, allowing him and Rouge and Omega to plow through the Mephiles clones. Y/N was amazed by his power he had been holding. Mephiles scoffed.

"While they deal with my clones, why don't we have a nice visit with your brother?"

Y/N's eyes widen.

"N-No... Y-You can't..."

"You can't stop me."

Mephiles and Y/N then disappeared.

Inside the Egg Carrier, events play out like before as an alarm is going off while Eggman is frantically typing at the Egg Carrier's interface, trying to save his doomed ship.

"...Why is this happening? Noooooo!!"

"Playtime's over."

Sonic appears and Elise runs to his side. Eggman slowly turns around in half-astonishment, half-fury at seeing Sonic somehow got on the Egg Carrier to save the princess from the ship's inevitable destruction.

"Sonic!" Elise exclaimed in relief and happiness.

She runs up to him and stand behind him.

"This ship is about to crash. Too bad, Eggman."

Eggman throws a tantrum and growls in frustration, stomping his foot at the end of it.

"I'm not finished yet!"

Sonic throws his arms out and stands in front of Elise, refusing to let Eggman get near her again and risk her being killed in the Egg Carrier's inevitable crash.

After defeating Eggman, Sonic is carrying Elise in his arms as he runs to escape from the ship as alarms continue to blare to order all hands to abandon the doomed vessel. Outside, the front section of the Egg Carrier explodes into flames and breaks off.

"Sonic!"

Elise points to burning debris soaring through the air as the Egg Carrier continues to fall apart.

"Aren't you worried?"

"'If you have time to worry, then run,' right?" Elise smiled, restating his words.

The front section of the Egg Carrier explodes in a huge fireball before it even hits the ocean surface below, sending smaller fragments shooting off in all directions like missiles. Sonic (with Elise in his arms) takes a running start, leaps off, and jumps from one piece of debris of the Egg Carrier to another. He lands on the wing to jump to a cliff and attempts to jump high into the air, only for them to start falling when gravity takes over before they can reach the top of the cliff. A large piece of debris of the Egg Carrier's engines collides into the cliff face below and its explosion launches Sonic and Elise up to solid ground as they roll along the ground before coming to a rest after several tumbles. Sonic recovers with a groan before checking Elise, who rolls over onto her back. Elise lies on the ground while Sonic walks over to her and lends his hand for her to get up. Sonic and Elise begin laughing.

"Nice smile!"

Sonic and Elise turn to look over at the horizon.

"Where is your sister?"

"Don't know, but we'll find her."

In the forest, Mephiles grabs the purple Chaos Emerald floating in front of him. Y/N was held hostile by his right side as he held her waist around her tightly, not letting her escape. He then slowly walks away with Y/N.

Sonic and Elise are walking through the Forest when they are blinded by the light from the purple Chaos Emerald. They then saw Y/N standing in front of them with the purple Chaos Emerald above her head.

"Sis! You're okay!" Sonic exclaimed in relief.

"Sonic! Run! It's a trap!" Y/N shouted, trying to reach for him but she couldn't move.

"What?"

Before he could think, Mephiles appears behind them and impales Sonic in the back with an energy beam. Y/N and Elise screams. Mephiles withdraws his energy beam and Sonic falls to the ground, dead. Elise shakes Sonic.

"Sonic! Sonic!"

Mephiles laughs with maniacal and sinister delight. He then finally release Y/N. She runs over to Sonic and Elise. She kneels down and rolls Sonic over.

"S-Sonic...?"

"Oh... no."

Y/N begins to break down with tears threatening to spill and starts screaming.

"SONIC!!!!!!!!"

"Nooooooooo!"

Elise cries and Iblis bursts out from her.

"Finally, the seal is broken! At long last, I'll be able to join with you! Iblis! Now, Chaos Emerald! It's time for the final curtain call!" Mephiles laughed.

He levitates the purple Chaos Emerald into the air. Y/N feels sadness and rage as she slowly turns to Mephiles. She glares at him and brings out her sword. She charges him with a yell.

"I'M GONNA KILL YOU!!!"

Mephiles turns to her and grabs both of her wrists. Y/N tried to stab him, but his grip was tight, causing her to drop her sword.

"It's useless. Now you'll see true power."

He pushes her down.

"I'll let you spend time with your friends for as long as it lasts. Once they're gone, you will be mine."

In Dusty Desert, Shadow, Rouge and Omega are finished fighting the Mephiles clones. Shadow is putting back his Inhibitor Rings and is about to get the yellow and green Chaos Emerald on the ground when they suddenly emit a powerful white light, blinding them all.

Mephiles is flying the air with the seven Chaos Emeralds supplying him with power. Iblis' flames envelops him and they remerge, re-creating Solaris. In Castle Town, Tails, Knuckles and Amy are walking through the populated streets when suddenly the white light from Solaris envelops Soleanna and the surrounding areas.

Solaris shines a bright light in the black void and Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Silver, Shadow, Rouge, Omega and Eggman find themselves on a floating fragment of Soleanna.

"What is this?" Tails questioned.

"Where are we? What's going on?" Amy asked.

"Is this because of that light?" Knuckles wondered.

Silver looks at his hands where the two Chaos Emeralds were supposed to be.

"The Chaos Emerald has disappeared..."

"Silver?" Amy said in surprise.

Silver turned to Amy in shock.

"What are you doing here? This is all so confusing..."

"It's all because of Solaris." Rouge informed, causing them to turn to the Dark Team.

"It seems we were all caught by the spatial distortion." Eggman said, raising his hands up in the air while looking up.

The group look up to see the light that consumed them. Eggman placed his hands down.

"Iblis' seal has been broken. Due to Mephiles manipulation."

The whole group sees Elise cradling Sonic nearby. They also see Y/N sitting there with her fists clenched.

"Sonic?" Amy's eyes widened and ran over to him.

Tails walks over to Sonic.

"No... You don't think..."

"Sonic!" Knuckles gasped.

Amy collapses and begins crying while everyone else are emotionally struck by Sonic's death.

"Mephiles played us all for fools! His plan all along was to cause the Princess to be consumed with despair that she'd cry." Eggman growled.

"So that's why he wanted me to kill Sonic before..." Silver said.

Shadow turns away while closing his eyes and crossing his arms. He then turns to see Y/N's body shaking.

"Y/N...?"

Everyone turned to see if Y/N's alright. Then Y/N stood up, walked over, and destroyed the pillar next to her with an angry scream as her powers helped her destroy it and it crumbled to pieces. They flinched, never seeing Y/N this angry. She marches up to the light and shouted.

"This is your fault! Mephiles! Come out and fight me! You coward!!!"

Y/N brought out her white orbs and threw them towards the light, but it didn't do any damage. She kept on doing it with an angry grunt. Silver walks up to her and places his hand on her shoulder.

"Y/N... It's okay..."

Y/N stops and turns to Silver. He looks at her with a soft expression, showing her that it's okay for her to let it out. She couldn't take it and begins to cry. Silver hugs her and her face is against his furry chest as he stroke her quills. She hugs back, her body shaking.

"I'm sorry..."

Meanwhile, Solaris begins giving off strange, loud sounds.

"Solaris!" Silver gasped, holding Y/N close.

"This creature will consume all existing timelines. And time itself will collsapse and disappear into nothingness." Eggman informed.

"The instability of time caused this time-space rift." Shadow added.

"It won't remain for much longer."

"We've no time to waste. We've got to defeat it now!" Knuckles exclaimed.

"No, it is a transcendent life form that exists in the past, present and future. Defeating it here, now, would do nothing." Eggman sadly said.

"No, I won't give up. There has to be a way. If you say it exists in the past, present and future, I'll destroy them all at once!" Silver said in determination.

Y/N release herself from the hug.

"He's right. We can't let Mephiles win."

"Certainly, it might have been possible, if he was still alive." Shadow said.

"Sonic! Sonic!"

While Amy cries and everyone else mourns, a blue wind blows by which Elise feels. Y/N's eyes widen, suddenly feeling it too.

"Sonic..." Elise mumbled.

"Brother...?"

"What's the matter?" Silver asked Y/N.

"I feel... Sonic's presence in the wind. I don't think he's dead yet! I'm sure of it. It's not too late!"

"She's right! I can feel him too! He's still alive!" Y/N exclaimed in happiness and relief.

"Of course! Let's call him back with power of the Chaos Emeralds! Focus your thoughts on using its power to perform this miracle..."

Silver walks up to Elise.

"You can do it, Princess!"

"I can?"

"Yes, you can, Elise. I saw what you can do." Y/N said with a smile.

"You were the vessel that was used to seal Iblis. You should be able to use the gems' power to rescue Sonic's soul!" Silver added.

Elise nods.

"I'll... do it!"

Eggman adjusts his glasses into a radar.

"Solaris flung the Chaos Emeralds to the distant corners of this distorted world."

"To collect them all in time, we'll have to split up!" Tails informed.

"I'll go, too!" Amy said, standing up. "Because it's for Sonic! So Elise... Watch over him!"

"Please take care of my brother." Y/N said, looking at Elise who nods.

Shadow, Y/N, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Silver, Rouge, and Omega leave in separate directions, leaving Elise with Sonic.
