"Don't get in my way!" Silver declared, getting into his stance with his hand raised.

"I won't hold back. Here I come!" Shadow shouted.

"Bring it on!" Y/N shouted, spinning her sword and her whip.

Silver flew over to the top of the bridge and was about to send out his attack when Shadow threw Chaos Spears at him. Silver grunted and fell to the ground. Y/N uses her crystal and makes herself fly over to Silver. He looks up and quickly jumps back from the punch Y/N was about to send him. She glares at him before throwing white orbs towards him from the crystal, making him fall towards the ground. She jumps down and lands on his chest. Silver forcibly spits out his saliva from the painful hit he receive from the chest.

"Have enough?" Y/N taunted.

Silver uses his psychokinesis to hold her still and crashes her against the barrels. She grunts in pain. Shadow quickly spin dashes Silver, hitting him back down. Silver gets up and Shadow skates away, knowing he's going to use psychokinesis as he did.

"Take this!"

Just before he could throw barrels towards Shadow, Y/N gets up and uses her crystal power to stop the barrels as she's now controlling them. Silver stares at her in shock as Shadow took this distraction as an opportunity and zooms in and kicks him off hard.

"Ugh!!"

Y/N then threw the piles of barrels at Silver before he could think as they all crash into him. Shadow looks her in amazement as she glares harshly at Silver, panting. She's letting out all of her anger towards the white hedgehog for attempting to kill her brother. Silver slowly gets up, holding his head in pain. He was surprised that she can surpass his psychokinesis. He shook his head not wanting to lose as he floats up in the air and brought out tons of barrels as much as he could take. Y/N tries to bring them down to her with her crystal power, but Silver holds them back as they both tug back and forth to see who's strong enough.

Shadow threw his Chaos Spears again to weaken Silver, but Silver manage to create a shield in front of him. The shield deflects the Chaos Spears attack. Y/N was feeling a little tired and she had no choice, but to let go. Silver smirks and brings down all the barrels at her and Shadow. Y/N and Shadow quickly dodge the barrels that are heading their way. Y/N backflips over the barrels while Shadow kicks off the barrels while jumping over. Y/N got the idea as she jumps onto the barrels then to the next one as she's in the air where Silver is as he keeps on throwing things.

Shadow notice this and skates away for him to get a good distance for him to bring out his attack. Y/N was now in the air to Silver who was caught off-guard. She threw her whip towards him as they spin rapidly and wrapped him around it. She then kick him down to where Shadow was. Shadow jumps up and spin dashes and punches Silver farther down as Silver crashes into the ground with a loud thud, creating a dent. Y/N flies down to the ground safely with the help of the crystal and lands next to Shadow. They watch as Silver gets up. Y/N could feel sweat forming down her head from using her crystal power while moving very fast to take down Silver.

With the three of them exhausted, Silver tries to punch Shadow with a shout. Shadow pulls out the green Chaos Emerald.

"Chaos Control!"

Time is slowed down on Silver and Shadow kicks Silver on the head while Y/N knees him on the stomach. Silver collapses and slowly gets up in one knee and looks at them. Well, mostly at Shadow with a glare.

"Y-You..."

"Don't bother. With a Chaos Emerald's power, I control time and space. You can't break free." Shadow warned, holding out the Chaos Emerald.

"You gonna give up now, Silver?" Y/N asked with a glare still.

"I won't give up! It all depends on me! Can't lose... Not when I'm so close!

Y/N notices Silver pulls out the blue Chaos Emerald and runs at Shadow with a shout. She immediately took out her crystal and runs at Silver.

"Chaos..."

"Chaos..."

"Chaos..."

All three step around the other and hold up their respective Chaos Emeralds in a cross and Y/N's crystal coming in the middle, their hands coming into contact.

"...Control!!!"

A Time-Space rift opens between Y/N, Shadow, and Silver.

"Huh?" Silver questioned.

"What the?" Y/N questioned.

"You... induced a Chaos Control." Shadow said in surprise.

"And created a portal." Y/N added, looking surprise as well.

"I won't let anyone get in my way! I'll change the past and save the world!"

"That's why you tried to kill Sonic? Wow... You're an idiot..." Y/N sighed, shaking her head.

Shadow nodded in agreement.

"What?" Silver asked in confusion.

Shadow closes his eyes and opens them.

"Mephiles isn't trying to help you create a better future... He's trying to eliminate the past."

"Yeah, somehow he wants destruction on humanity more than anything. He's like a madman. He even tried to kidnap me for no reason." Y/N said.

"What? What are you talking about?" Silver asked again, looking more confused.

Y/N scoffs as Shadow walks over to him.

"To discover what happened, it seems we must see what took place 10 years ago."

"Good idea, Shadow. I'm curious to what happened in the past." Y/N said and glared at Silver. "And to clear Sonic's name."

Shadow nods and turns to Silver.

"Follow us if you want the truth."

Shadow jumps into the Time-Space rift. Y/N purposely bumps into Silver's shoulder who flinches and jumps into the Time-Space rift with Shadow. Silver hesitates at first, but decides to follow Shadow and Y/N and jumps into the Time-Space rift.

Deep within the Forest, Sonic, with Elise in his arms, is running through the lush jungle after saving her from Eggman again. Elise was brave enough to fall off the Eggmobile from Eggman, seeing Sonic is here so he could catch her.

"It looks like we've lost them." Elise said.

"I'll settle things here. Elise, you should go back to the castle." Sonic said.

Elise frowns, looking down.

"OK..."

Sonic notices this and makes a turn to the right.

"Sonic?"

They stop by a lake surrounded by green grass and numerous trees.

"It's so beautiful! I've never seen so many flowers before! Sonic, have you and Y/N visited many wonderful places before?"

"Yeah. If you're with Y/N right now, she would show you her amazing art skills she made."

Elise smiles, looking forward to see that from Y/N once she gets back again. She then frowns.

"Once you defeat Eggman... you'll leave, won't you? Along with Y/N?"

Sonic nods.

"Though I've been frightened many times, I've also enjoyed this adventure. It allowed me to be something other than a Princess. I was able to be myself... a girl."

"It sounds like being a Princess isn't that easy."

"It isn't sometimes, but I love this country. Everyone in the castle, the children, all my citizens really... The same love my late father and mother had..."

The flashbacks to the Duke of Soleanna sitting on a chair gently stroking her a younger Elise's forehead.

"Don't cry, Elise. Become a strong queen who doesn't cry no matter what happens."

The flashback ends.

"And so, I do my best to protect my country. I understand everything my parents said to me now. Sonic, if you and your sister leave here to go on another adventure... Remember this place."

"Definitely. I'll make sure to tell Y/N that."

Elise suddenly strays away for a few moment.

"Elise?"

"I'm fine... Sorry."

"I mustn't cry... I can't..."

Elise quickly hugged Sonic before it seemed that she was about to cry.

"Elise... smile. Like sis told you."

In Aquatic Base. A Time-Space rifts opens and deposits Y/N, Shadow, and Silver as they arrive in Soleanna ten years ago and land on a metal floor. They get up and wonder where they are, then they see a long hallway. The scene shifts to a large room with the Duke of Soleanna and some scientists watching a cylinder filled with sparkling orange energy. The Solaris Project is going haywire and the scientists are having a hard time controlling it.

"An electromagnetic pulse has just been generated! Injecting decompression agent!"

"No, the level's not dropping! A spatial meltdown is inevitable!"

"My Lord, it's too late! We've got to take shelter!"

Duke slams his fists on the machine.

"Why, Solaris? Why do you refuse to listen to my voice?"

"Father!"

Little Elise comes running towards him.

"Elise!"

The duke looks at little Elise when a noise is heard. He quickly looks at the Solaris Project and shelters Elise as an explosion rocks the laboratory. Y/N, Shadow, and Silver notice the explosion, look at each other, and run off to the lab. Scene fades out then fades back in to the smoldering lab in ruins, with its glass windows broken. Y/N, Shadow, and Silver arrive at the site of the accident. They look at each other, then jump down to the floor and get up. Shadow notices the Duke, runs up to him, and checks him for a pulse. He tries to wake up the unconscious Duke while Y/N and Silver kneels down near the scientists' dead body and looks at something.

"Is that?!"

Silver notices the birth of the Flames of Disaster, whose light fades out into a dwarf and splits up, dropping blob bits into the water.

"That flame... It's Iblis!" Silver exclaimed with wide eyes.

The Flames of Disaster grow larger.

"And the black shadow is the original Mephiles." Shadow added.

"That's Mephiles?!" Y/N exclaimed in shock.

The flame, Iblis, flies out of the lab while the black blob puddle, Mephiles, oozes out of there.

"They're escaping!" Silver shouted.

"We'll have to split up, I'll pursue Mephiles." Shadow said.

"OK. Then leave Iblis to me!" Silver nodded.

"I'll go with you, Silver." Y/N said, surprising him.

They nod, and they begin to chase the two parts.

"Wait."

Shadow sees that the Duke is still alive, then runs up to him. The Duke, terribly wounded in the explosion, tries getting up and takes out the Scepter of Darkness. He sees Shadow though he is weak.

"Seal it with this..."

"Hurry!"

As Silver runs off with Y/N who hesitates and leaves, Shadow takes the Scepter of Darkness from the Duke and follows the other two hedgehogs out of the lab. The wounded Duke is thankful for Shadow while little 7-year-old Elise lies unconscious next to her father, who takes care of her.

"A laboratory like this, under Soleanna..." Silver said as they ran through the tunnel of the base.

Y/N slices off the fire monsters as they turn into a golden orb before they disappeared. They soon meet Shadow who told them to go and leave these monsters to him as he uses his Chaos Spears to fight them off while kicking and punching them. Silver and Y/N flies up with their psychokinesis and crystal. They jump over to the next step of the floor.

"So... why did you come with me?"

"To stop that Iblis and make you see the true enemy that's NOT Sonic."

Silver smiles nervously, levitating the monsters and making them crash into each other.

"You still mad about that...?"

Y/N sighs and kicks off the two giant fire monster worms.

"Not... anymore, now that I know the truth. But I'm still mad over the fact that you tried to kill Sonic without thinking straight."

Silver looks down.

"Right... sorry..."

Y/N nods as they keep on chasing the Iblis while slaying off the fire monsters and going through another room. They eventually made it and found Iblis. Silver uses his psychokinesis while Y/N uses her crystal power to entrap Iblis, and tries to hold up their strength as best as they can, when they notices the weakened Duke approaching, holding his unconscious daughter. Y/N immediately recognized Elise who looks so young and was shocked.

"Hey! What are you doing?"

"You've got to leave! It's dangerous!"

"I have my duty. This Living Flame has been entrusted to the royal family."

Duke approaches Iblis.

"The Flames of Disaster will awaken if nothing is done! That must not happen."

The Duke sets Elise down on the altar and takes out the white Chaos Emerald, then holds it aloft and launches it upward. The Duke takes a few steps backward and prays.

"Eternal Sun! The Living Flame that has been entrusted to the royal family! Fall into slumber with a royal soul!"

Duke lifts his hands upward, and Iblis shrinks, becoming minuscule, and vanishes into the emerald, which then injects it as a beam of light into Elise, who moves a little. Silver's and Y/N's psychokinesis and crystal stops and they look in wonder. The Duke collapses on the altar, weakened and all worn out and trying to breathe. Silver and Y/N looks at him as Y/N picks up the unconscious Elise and stumbles onto him. Silver quickly helps Duke up.

"I'm sorry, but..."

Duke looks at Y/N.

"Can you take her to a safe place?"

Y/N nods and clutches Elise in her arms as her father falls to the floor slowly with the help of Silver, seeing there's nothing he can do to save him. Duke takes one last look at her, Y/N, and Silver. The Duke takes her hand and places it on her other hand, then cradles her head softly.

"That's a good girl, Elise. Remember, be brave. Don't cry, no matter what happens. Otherwise your tears will call forth the flames inside you... Become a strong queen who doesn't cry no matter what happens. And... live... happily..."

Y/N tears up as the Duke crumbles onto the floor and breathes his last breath. Silver places his hand on her shoulder to comfort her. Y/N did nothing to push him off, not feeling angry or hating him anymore and let him. They look at the Duke's dead body, then at the altar, and then at Elise. Silver grieves a bit over her father, and looks up at the sky and the emerald. Y/N tries not to cry as she holds Elise close, feeling sorry for Elise's father.

Meanwhile, Mephiles in his liquid form slithers away. Shadow holds up the green Chaos Emerald.

"Chaos Control!"

"...What? ...Stop!" Mephiles shouted.

Shadow lets the Scepter of Darkness float in front of him. The scepter glows, beginning the process of drawing Mephiles into it.

"Who...... Who are... you?"

"I'm Shadow. Shadow The Hedgehog."

"Shadow... Your face... Your form... I will remember. Your death... Certain... You... will die!"

Mephiles is sucked completely into the Scepter of Darkness, sealing him within it. After it falls to the ground, Shadow slowly picks the scepter up.

Outside the Aquatic Base, Y/N clutches the unconscious Elise in her arms with Silver by her side as Shadow walks out to them with Mephiles sealed in the Scepter of Darkness in Kingdom Valley.

"Did you do it?" Silver asked.

"Yes. And you two?" Shadow asked.

Y/N pauses and nods.

"...Yes. The 'Flames' are properly sealed. It's done."

Silver nods at Y/N in understanding that she doesn't want to tell him yet. Y/N carries her and sets her near a tree, then looks at her. Shadow holds up the Scepter of Darkness, then walks around and looks at them. He kneels down and sets the Scepter on the grass near the same tree.

"You're going to leave it behind?" Silver asked.

"Are you sure it's safe for it to be around her?" Y/N asked in worry.

"Yes, I already know what becomes of it in the future..."

Shadow looks at Y/N and Silver, then stands up and takes out the green Chaos Emerald.

"It's time to return."

Silver nods and walks over to him. Y/N gets up, looks at Elise, and walks away.

"Yes... Of course..."

Both hedgehogs have each emerald in hand, while Y/N has the crystal in her fingers, approach each other, and hold them aloft.

"Chaos Control!!!"

The light emerges from both emeralds once again and splits up, opening a space-time rift in front of them. Shadow jumps into it, and Y/N looks at Elise once again as Silver stops to see her not moving yet. Elise starts to move around, and Y/N walks to the portal as she moves.

"Father..." Elise mumbled.

Y/N frowns and looks at Elise again. Silver looks at Y/N then to Elise, and takes out the blue emerald, looks at it one last time, then goes to her slowly. He kneels down at her dormant body, then takes her hand, and sets the emerald upon it. Y/N was surprised that he's giving her the blue Chaos Emerald, now knowing why she had it.

"It's a lucky charm." Silver said.

"Silver..." Y/N mumbled out.

Silver sets the blue Chaos Emerald and her hand down on her lap, and Elise moves around again to the other side. He gets up and takes one last look at her, then turns around. He smiles at Y/N in reassurance that everything is going to be okay. Y/N then smiles back at him, causing him to blush. Y/N takes one last look at Elise, knowing she will see her again. Her and Silver nod at each other and run, and jump into the time portal as it closes. It is assumed that Silver already has the white emerald from the Duke of Soleanna.
