Dusty, Desert, late afternoon. Inside a chamber of ancient ruins, Elise is sitting. She then gets a thought that she remembered from the past.

"You're a good girl, Elise. Remember, be brave. Don't cry no matter what happens."

Sonic, Y/N, and Tails break into the room. Sonic and Y/N comes in and Tails waves his hand.

"Mr. Sonic! Ms. Y/N!"

"Just call me Sonic."

"And call me Y/N."

Elise hugs Sonic and Y/N.

"Now then, are you OK?"

"I-I'm so glad that you two came..."

"We always keep our word."

"Sonic! Y/N!" Tails shouted.

Sonic, Y/N, Tails, and Elise turn their attention to the Egg Cerberus who is sealed in a caged. It starts to open its mouth as Eggman then appears.

"It looks like those pesky rats has stuck their nose where it doesn't belong. Well, the hedgehogs to be more precise... The Princess is mine until I unlock the secret of the Flames of Disaster."

"Tails!" Sonic said, getting into his fighting stance.

Y/N activated her crystal and powered up her katana.

"Got it! Let's go!"

"I'll take care of you now. An early breakfast for my pet."

Eggman brought out his Egg-Cerberus as it sniffed the ground a bit and started roaring at them.

"This is your pet, huh?" Sonic said.

"Alright, Eggman, we'll play with him." Y/N said.

Y/N and Sonic began rocket roller skating and running towards Egg-Cerberus. It quickly jumped away with them on its trail. They jumped onto its tail and goes up to its orange glowing pointy thing from the head and held onto it. Egg-Cerberus started running around, trying to push Sonic and Y/N off of its head.

"Sonic, Y/N! Make him run into something!" Tails said.

"Okay!" Y/N nodded.

Her and Sonic made the robot ram into the tallest statue hard.

"Hey, we can finally see your face! Now it's our turn!" Sonic said after they got off of Egg-Cerberus.

Egg-Cerberus shook its head at the hard impact. Sonic and Y/N zoomed in to where the robot had crashed into and boosted themselves up in the air and was about to hit it when it jumped to the top. It stared at them for a moment as they got ready. It then jumped off and the hedgehog siblings quickly jumped to avoid a hard wind that was created from the impact. Sonic and Y/N jumped up on its tail to its orange pointy head again and held on.

"Hmph! Come on! Listen to us!" Y/N grunted as they were being rocked back and forth.

The robot ram into the tallest statue again as Sonic and Y/N jumped off of it. The Egg-Cerberus was now defeated after getting hit again hard from the statue that barely left a crack.

"Sonic! Y/N! I won't let you two get away!!" Eggman growled as his robot gave a last roar and collapsed.

In the sunset of Dusty Desert, a large board of Egg Gunner robots, led by a trio of Egg Stingers are flying towards somewhere, possibly towards Sonic, Y/N, Tails, and Elise.

"How long is this going to go on?!" Sonic exclaimed.

"Let's split up. I'll get their attention, and you two take the Princess." Tails said.

"Are you sure you're going to be okay by yourself?" Y/N asked in worry.

"Don't worry. I'll be fine." Tails smiled at her.

Y/N nods and turns her head towards Tails.

"Okay. You be careful, Tails."

"We're counting on you." Sonic nodded in agreement.

"Leave it to me!"

Tails flies off and Y/N holds Elise.

"Hold on tight!"

"Ok!"

Sonic and Y/N goes off with Elise.

Meanwhile, Amy and Silver are at the Dusty Desert oasis.

"Hmm... I sense Sonic's and Y/N's presence there." she points out ahead while Silver walks in exhaustion. "Call it my girlish intuition."

The duo look around for Sonic and Y/N.

"What am I doing?" Silver asked himself.

Amy looks at Silver.

"Sorry. As soon as I find Sonic and Y/N, I'll help you find who you're looking for, Silver."

Silver looks at Amy.

"Who's this Y/N you're talking about?"

"Her? She's Sonic's younger sister!"

Silver was shocked.

"No way..."

"Yes way! But that's not all." Amy smiled. "She's a coolest girl in the world. She's kind, courageous, loyal, and brave. She can be scary when she's very angry, so don't try and mess with her. But most of all, she's a greatest friend. Once you meet her, you're gonna love her!"

"Maybe I will..."

Silver smiles a thought of meeting her again, but in person. He frowns that he can't think about it now and needs to focus on one thing is killing the Iblis Trigger. Silver shakes his head and thinks for a moment, then looks up.

"This looks beautiful."

"What? You mean this desert?" Amy asked.

"Everything is so great here, isn't it? The sky is gorgeous, and everyone's happy..."

Amy looks at him i confusion.

"Huh?"

Silver quickly turns around.

"Let's go. I'll help you find who you're looking for."

Amy nods, and they both run off through the Dusty Desert.

In the day of Kingdom Valley, Shadow and Rouge enter the open ruins of a great hall.

"The former king of Soleanna used to reside in this castle. But a major accident occured 10 years ago, and no one's lived here since." Rouge said.

"Accident?" Shadow asked.

"I heard a prototype energy engine failed, which caused the accident. I think the name of the plan was..."

Dr. Eggman drops down the air in his Egg Mobile.

"The Solaris Project. It was an ambitious project named after their eternal sun god."

"Doctor!" Rouge exclaimed.

"It's been a while, my dear Rouge. And of course, Shadow. Now, if you'd be so kind as to hand back the Scepter of Darkness you took from me."

Egg Gunners surround Shadow and Rouge who dodge a blast from one of them. As Rouge flies up, Eggman knocks her down with his Egg Mobile, causing her to drop the Scepter of Darkness she was holding earlier when she was rescued from Dr. Eggman's base. Shadow saves Rouge.

"No.......!" Eggman yelled.

The Scepter of Darkness shatters against the ground and the robots short-circuit. Shadow approaches the scepter when a dark smoke leaks from it.

"Shadow!" Rouge shouted.

Darkness shoots into the air from the scepter.

"It's no use! Pull back, pull back, pull back!"

Eggman flies away in his Egg Mobile. The flying shadow knocks down all the robots before shooting into the ground in front of Shadow. Shadow's shade is drawn into some dark smoke and the same twin Shadow emerges from it.

"What? His shadow..."

The twin Shadow laughs.

"Oh, how ironic fate can be! I would never have believed I would be resurrected through your shade! I thank you Shadow the Hedgehog!"

He bows.

"Who are you? How do you know my name?" Shadow demanded, glaring at him.

"I'm Mephiles. Mephiles the Dark."

Mephiles walks towards Shadow.

"What, did you forget me? I owe much to you, Shadow. Oh, yes."

He forms a purple orb in his hand.

"What you gave to me, I now return to you! A one-way ticket to oblivion."

Mephiles surround himself, Shadow and Rouge in a purple orb and all three of them disappear.

Crisis City. A purple orb appears and deposits Shadow and Rouge from it.

"What is this place?" Rouge asked.

"It seems we've been teleported to another location." Shadow said, looking at the damaged city.

"Well, let's find out where we are."

Rouge runs away.

"Mephiles... Who is he?"

Shadow then follows Rouge.

Sonic and Y/N runs and skates as Y/N holds Elise through some plains and runs up a hill. As they reaches towards a peak, they then stop and place Elise down. Once she stands up on her own, she bows to Sonic and Y/N in gratitude.

"I have no words to express how grateful I am for your help..."

Elise pauses and notices Y/N having a cut on her arm.

"You're hurt, Y/N!"

"What?!" Sonic exclaimed.

"Don't be so surprised. It's nothing."

Y/N then checks her arm for any injury.

"Don't say that."

Elise then uses some fabrics as a bandage to cover the injury. Y/N would have heal herself using her crystal, but she lets her do her job.

"I'm sorry. It's all my fault..."

"Smile." Y/N said.

A butterfly flies towards Y/N's finger she held out and Elise smiles. Elise lightly touches the butterfly and it flies away.

"Your smile... That's all I need."

Sonic smiles at the scene as they began walking along the hill.

"Eggman mentioned the Flames of Disaster. Is that why he's after you?" He asked.

"Yes. The name of the sun god our country honors is Solaris... It is told that Solaris's rage would destroy the world. His wrath comes in the form of the Flames of Disaster. 10 years ago, we almost faced the full force of his fury... I was a child then, so I don't remember it very well. I lost my father then... And now that man is trying to cause the same disaster again... What can I do?"

Y/N suddenly grabs Elise's hand and skates or runs together with Sonic.

"Y/N? Y/N! Sonic! I can't run or skate that fast!" Elise cried out.

"Don't worry. Just raise your head and run!"

They continue running.

"Feels great, doesn't it?" Sonic asked.

"Yes. I-I've never run so fast before..."

"Nothing starts until you take action. If you have time to worry, then run!"
