Discord

Lyrics:

I'm not a fan of puppeteers, but I've a nagging fear
Someone else is pulling at the strings

Something terrible is going down through the entire town

Wreaking anarchy, and all it brings

I can't sit idly, no, I can't move at all

I curse the name, the one behind it all

Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon

And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon

Discord, whatever did we do

To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone

Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?

Discord, we won't take it anymore

So take your tyranny away!I'm fine with changing status quo, but not in letting go

Now the world is being torn apart

A terrible catastrophe played by your symphony

What a terrifying work of art

I can't sit idly, no, I can't move at all

I curse the name, the one behind it all

Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon

And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon

Discord, whatever did we do

To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone

Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?

Discord, we won't take it anymore

So take your tyranny away!

Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon

And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon

Discord, whatever did we do

To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone

Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?

Discord, we won't take it anymore

So take your tyranny away!

Start

"I'm not a fan of puppeteers but I have a nagging fear someone else is pulling at the strings," our leader says, "He may be coming back."

"I agree. Something terrible is going down through the entire town. Bodies are showing up everywhere. They wake up in the morgue possessed with something evil. It's beginning to to wreak anarchy and everything that comes with it."

I can't sit idly but I can't move at all.

I curse his name, the one who behind it all.

Discord.

I'm howling at the moon when the name floats through my mind. I stop running and my brother rams into me, throwing me forward and into a tree.

"What?" he asks, while I glare and mutter under my breath, "You've been acting weird since the meeting last night. What's going on?"

"I- I can't tell you. Not yet. You'll know soon enough," I reply, no longer angry. Then I speed off before he can ask any more questions.

Our people are actually aliens, from a planet taken over by a force of evil we could not counter. The people here think we're vampires (vampires that howl but no one really questions it), demons from hell, but we're not. We prefer to keep to ourselves and feed only when necessary. We can also have children. We just have very good protection spells and  living in New Orleans means we fit right in with the actual supernatural population. Mainly witches and werewolves but there are a few others. We don't talk about them though. They're all pains.

I'm sleeping in the summer afternoon when the voice cries in my head again.

Discord!

This time I don't ignore it. I jump up and glare at the dark mist starting to form.

Our leader calls to it, "Discord! What did we do to make you take our world away from us? Our home. You killed our wives and children. Why?"

"Well, it's my goal. Power. Your planet had a lot of it. Now I can challenge earth. It may be small but it has immense power. The witches mainly. Taking their power while they try to stop me all at once would be foolish of me. So I went to Africa first. The entire world population of witches would have to get together to stop me. They can't do so now that I've killed off their second largest reserve. There is one other thing... you'll never find it though."

I lunge at the mist. Not that it would do anything. The dark cloud just moved away from my hand, "So what are we?" I snarl, "your prey alone or are we just stepping stones for taking over the world? Because if we are..." I pull out a knife and press it to my throat, "You're not getting my power."

The mist sighs, "Fine. But I'll be back." And then it's gone.

I snarl, glaring at the place where Discord was. "I know what he means. I know what we have to get."

And I turn around before stalking off. Then I run. We won't take this anymore.

"Take your tyranny away!" I'm alone now. Surrounded by nothing but cypress trees and the swamp around me. I'd heard an old tale of a powerful object hidden here. It was chosen here because it had the largest concentration of witches of anywhere in the world. They could protect it but in the miles upon miles of swamps things tend to not be found. Especially if they aren't wanted to be found.

I just so happen to know exactly where this object is.

He appears before me again and I speak first, "I'm fine with changing status quo, but not letting go. Now our world has been torn apart."

He laughs, "A terrible catastrophe-"

"Played by your symphony. What a terrifying work of art." I can't sit idly but I can't move at all so I curse his name. The one who caused it all, "Discord!"

And then he's gone but his voice is still there, mocking what our leader said earlier, "What did we do to make you take our world away?"

I close my eyes, then focus all my power onto one point in the bog. Discord, are we your prey alone or are we just stepping stones to taking back the throne, then aloud, "Discord! I won't take it anymore, so take your tyranny away!"

Forcing my anger through my hands, my power courses and the swamp drains. It'll only be temporary but it give me enough time to lift the container out of the muck. How it wasn't completely buried I don't know. Probably some spell or another.

When the container reaches the ground in front of me, I force the remainder of my power through it and the creature inside wakes up.

Leave it to these people to keep the most powerful being in the Milky Way (possibly the universe right now) in a plastic tub.

"He's here, isn't he?" the small, white fox asks, "I can feel him."

I nod, "Please, he can't destroy this world too. It's taken nearly a thousand years for my family to get over my sister's death. If we are able to flee again... it wouldn't even be worth it. He'd be too strong. We have to save this world or the entire universe is doomed."

She nods, then glances behind me, "We have an audience."

I turn around to see a group of people behind me. I recognize them as a group of powerful witches I encountered a few decades ago. They've recognized the evil in their town and they're here to help stop it. Not that they'll be needed. When I turn back to the fox, she's not so small anymore. She's grown to the size of a bus.

Discord.

I'm howling at the moon again. And sleeping in the middle of a summer afternoon.

I never even woke up but my conscious left my body. That's the only way I can use my power to such an extent. When I do wake up, not just my conscious, my body too, it's to the silvery white fox walking into camp.

"Discord," she calls, sitting down.

"Ah, Serenity. So you have been here this entire time. I was wondering why I was able to take over so many planets without your intervention," the mist forms again and solidifies into Discord's physical form, that of a black panther. "They keep asking, 'Discord, what did we do to make you take our world away. Discord, are we your prey alone? Or are we just stepping stones for taking back your throne?' I've won before. I can do it again." But then he looks at me, "I underestimated your knowledge and power. When I win this I'll make sure to give you a very special death."

She laughs, "This is just a cycle. I win, you win, I win again. Don't get a big head. Discord, we're howling at the moon, and sleeping in the middle of a summer afternoon. Discord, whatever did they do, to make you take their world away? They were peaceful but you had to ruin it. You couldn't let your big sister win. Discord, are they your prey alone, or are they just stepping stones for taking back the throne? You can't just be a normal predator and feed, you make sure the husks wreak havoc on a world they loved. Well, Discord, they won't take it anymore. So take your tyranny away!"

And she lunges for his throat.

A/N

Wow  I finished this at exactly 12 am.

Uh... yeah. This one was kind of repetitive but I like the lyrics so... that's all.
