Under the Moonlight

Under the moonlight,
As the sun fades away,
Under the moonlight,
In the grass, I lay,
Under the moonlight,
Where I smile

The full moon shows,
Its light enveloping everything,
Everything beautifully glows,
As the crickets sing

They sing and chirp,
As billions of fireflies alight,
The crickets hide among the dirt,
While the fireflies are in a dancing flight

Under the moonlight,
A warm, gentle breeze,
Under the moonlight,
I feel at ease,
Under the moonlight,
Where I smile

A breeze grazes the cold lake,
Spraying me with cool droplets,
Mother nature is not fake,
Especially not when a storm sets

The clouds part,
I see the full, shining moon,
I feel my heart,
It'll be pumping out of my chest soon

Under the moonlight,
I close my eyes,
Under the moonlight,
Listening to the lake's tides,
Under the moonlight,
Where I smile

I feel at peace,
I feel understood,
My excited heart begins to cease,
As I think about the rough texture of wood

I think about the silky, green leaves,
And I begin to lull myself to sleep,
Hiding nature's breath under my sleeves,
Nature has made my sleep very, very deep

Under the moonlight,
As the sun fades away,
Under the moonlight,
In the grass, I lay,
Under the moonlight,
Where I smile
