This silence is deafening whether I'm awake or I'm asleep
The pain is never ending whether I cut shallow or I cut deep
I'm playing on your heartstrings to the beat of my blood
I'm taking every breath of yours to fill up my lungs
If you think I'm fine then you should see what I cover on my thighs
Don't tell me I'm lying
Because the pain is fresh and I need your light to guide me home
And I heard a howl in the dark which spelled out your name
How typical do you think it is that I fell in love with your eyes
And that you're my only thought when I see the inky skies
These scars are silencing
This painful pleasure is enticing
And when I fall asleep to my cries in the middle of the night
It's your face I see before I drift away from the light
What you feel inside all happens for a reason
Whether it's longing to hide
Or a death wish.
