A 4 year old Ignis Scientia and a 3 year old Marina Lucis Caleum were sitting down near a table, watching people dance, due to how Marina's mother had 2 babies, a boy and a girl, named Noctis and Agatha, and this ball was in honor of that. Ignis looked over at Marina, seeing how she was fascinated with everybody dancing, as Ignis smiled seeing her happy, making his cheeks turn pink as she stood up, her dress making it a bit hard for her to get up as she looked at him with a smile as she held his hand and dragged him to the dance floor, surprising him as she looked at him with a giggle as they both started to try and dance, coping people around them. Ignis placed a hand on her waist from what he saw the men doing, and his hand holding Marina's, as Marina placed her hand on his arm that held her waist, as they started dancing, everyone was 'aw'ing and saying how adorable they were, but Ignis didn't notice, as they both were having a great time.

Just keep your eyes on me!" She said playfully, as Ignis chuckled a little as he then said

"I said you're holding back." making Marina blush brightly as she then said

"She said shut up and dance with me!" she squeaked shyly as Ignis's cheeks blushed more as he thought to himself

That was the night the advisor and princess first fell in love

Ignis was now 10, as he became a advisor-in-training for Marina's little brother, Noctis, making him more busy then usual, for he didn't really have time to play with Marina alot anymore, and he could tell it was making her sad, but another ball was coming up soon, for Marina's birthday making him excited to hang out with her. During balls, he was allowed to visit and be with people, making him excited. He noticed recently though that she had been acting weird a little though, she would call him a 'baka' or dummy when he talked about love, and how she would get angry when Agatha and Iris would, 'Ship him' with someone, and then Marina would make them watch anime they didn't like or music they didn't like.  On the day of her birthday, he had some special gifts for her as he saw her sitting at a small table, seeing the now 9 year old Marina wearing a very beautiful blue gown, making him blush some more, seeing her still watching people with happiness as he slowly walked up to her, as she watched people dancing.

Ignis said, making her turn her head with a smile, " Ignis!" she said, giving him a hug, happy as he chuckled a little, smiling at her brightly as he said, " I have a surprise for you Princess." he said as she looked curious as she asked, " What is it?" she asked. He smiled as he held out 2 small presents for her making her smile as he said, " Open it, and you'll find out." he said as she nodded, as she opened the one that looked like a maybe a CD disc, making her gasp with joy as she squealed in excitment as she saw a video game, " Pokemon Alpha Sapphire! Your the best!" she said, as he chuckled, " Well, sapphire is your birthstone. So I figured you would want the game that had it in it's title...you should open the other one.." he said, slightly blushing as she nodded as she placed the game down carefully as she opened the other gift and gasped when she saw it. Inside was a necklace that was a small sapphire shaped starfish charm, he told her, " I saved up to buy that for you. I hope you like it..." she looked at him with a smile, " Thank you so much Iggy...I love it. " she said, giving him a big hug, making him blush more, as he hugged her back, before she pulled away, blushing brightly, " I-I mean! I-It's cute and all and u-um..." she didn't know what to say as he smiled at her, thinking

Marina put the necklace on, and Ignis swore that it glowed slightly, as she giggled as she said, " C'mon Baka! Let's go dance together!!" she said, blushing bright red making him laugh a little, as he nodded

Ignis chuckled as they started to dance together as she told him,

"Oh don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me!" she joked, her cheeks were scarlet as he told her playfully,

"I said you're holding back" making Marina's cheeks more brighter as she said told him,

'She said-shut up and dance with me!" making Ignis blush more as he chuckled, pushing his glasses back up as he thought to himself again, as she muttered some words under her breath, how he was a 'baka'.

A 18 year old Ignis was at his high-school prom. He really didn't want to go, but his younger sister Rela practically forced him to go, saying he only lived once, and that he needed to not have 'his head always in his notes and work.' She also said there was a surprise, whatever the bloody hell that meant. The theme was masquerade, which he wore a black tux, with dress shoes, and a purple mask to conceal his face as a girl walked up to him and asked, " Are you alone tonight?" she asked, as he looked to his right and saw a girl, wearing a very nice black dress, but wearing kinda old sneakers that looked suspiciously familiar, but she also wore a bask, made out of black velvet as he nodded, sighing," Yes, I am afraid so. My sister forced me to come, even though I would rather be at home, finishing my notes." he said as the girl giggled a little, " It can't be all to bad, I mean, what's better Specs? Hanging out with a friend or being at home in the dark with some notes?" she asked as he looked at her with confusion, as it then hit him why she seemed familiar and why her voice was also familiar.

" Marina?! What in the name of Ifrit are you doing he-" she then covered his mouth as people were staring at them confused as she said, " Shh! Your going to blow my cover if you you keep yelling!" she said as he removed her hand and asked in a more quite voice, " What are you doing here?! I thought you were in the citadel with Noctis and Agatha!" he said as she smiled mischeviously, " Well you see, a little red birdy told me you were going to Prom, and nobody was with you, so she and Agatha basically helped me get ready, and made Rela look and seem like me. She's basically acting like me, while I hang out with you." she told him as he sighed, " So THIS is what she talked about saying a surprise...should I ask why your wearing those shoes? And where in Bahamut did you get them?" he asked as she nervously laughed, " Well you see, in case anybody finds out Rela's in my place and they come here, I can try and run, and not worry about my heels I was going to wear....but these are Rela's gym shoes, thankfully, we're the same size." she told him as he sighed, chuckling a little, " So that's why they where familiar." he said, as both him and her giggled a little

He sighed and said, " Well, I came here to make, and I quote from my sister, ' Make memories'....would you like to dance with me?" he asked, holding a hand out, making her blush brightly, as she said, " S-Sure...baka..." she mumbled, blushing as he chuckled, taking her hand and leading her to the dance floor, as he thought to himself as they started to dance together

Marina blushed slightly as Ignis smiled, as she told him,

"She said-shut up and dance with me!" she told him, as he laughed, thinking to himself once more

Shut up and dance with me!' he thought about what he thought, and what she said, as they danced the night away, as they took pictures and Ignis was glad his sister told him to come to Prom now.

21 year old Ignis watched Marina laughing and chatting away with his 19 year old sister Rela and Marina's also 19 year old sister Agatha, as they talked about Pokemon, anime and other things, and who would there valentine would be. He stared at her as the 20 year old looked up at the speckled man and smiled at him, waving at him as he smiled back, as he looked deep into her eyes and thought to himself again,

'Deep in her eyes

I think I see the future!

I realize this is my last chance!'

She later on that night came up to him and as she held a box of chococlates for him, blushing brightly as she told him, giving him chocolate, " H-Happy Valentines Baka..." she mumbled as he smiled and said, " Happy Valentines day Princess..." he knew she had a crush on him, but he didn't say anything or tell her that he knew she had a crush. He grew accustomed with how shy and embaressed she would get, along with her calling him a Baka and her small fits of anger, which just made him fall in love with her all over again, as they didn't know a certain prince, lady-in-waiting, and a princess played a classical song, as they were in hiding as Marina blushed brighter as Ignis gave her some chocolates also as she then held out a hand and asked, " Do you want to dance?" she asked as he smiled and nodded, taking her hand as they started to dance.

Everything went to hell after they left for Noctis wedding, as Insomnia was destroyed by the Empire. 23 year old Ignis saw everyone was in shambles, and how Marina had matured and gotten stronger as they journeyed through Lucis. It was during this time that Marina had finally confessed there feeling for him, and he returned it full force. After a night of drinking a bit too much, they ended up finding out Marina was pregnant, which made them very happy, but when they went to Altissia, hell broke loose. Ignis had used the Ring of Lucii, to stop Ardyn from killing Noct, like he had killed Lunafreya as after the fight, Marina, Gladio, Prompto, and his sister alongside Agatha saw him and Noct, as Marina wept on how badly his injuries were, but his vision faded to black. When he came too, he was unable to see anything, making him scared and confused, panicking, as he thrashed around, summoning his daggers as Marina tried to calm him down, Ignis had nearly stabbed her in panic, hitting her 8 month stomach as she let him go, in pain.

When Gladio came in and saw what happened, he calmed Ignis down and got Marina to another room, as Ignis called out to her, trying to say sorry and wanting to hug her, and hold her and never let go of her, feeling so bad. Marina had there daughter later on that day, and Ignis wasn't able to go in there, since Gladio told them what happened, as the doctors thought he was unstable, and it wasn't a good idea for him to go near Marina who was in labor and near his newborn daughter. When the doctors left, and he was deemed ' stable' enough from everyone, he was able to go in the same room that Marina was in, as she told him it was ok and it wasn't his fault, and he was able to hold his daughter for the frist time, making him cry tears of joy when he held her.

After that, it got more worse, Noctis was sucked into the crystal, nobody knew when he would come back, Rela left for a very long time, saying she wanted to find herself and get stronger, Agatha also left, to get stronger and use her powers to not hurt her own kids just in case, Gladio and Prompto started to do hunts all around Lucis, as Ignis also left on hunts to earn gil for his family, which it hurt his heart a little everytime he went to leave, when Marie would run to him and beg him not go. At 27 years old, it honestly shocked him when he heard Marina was pregnant after a night of first making out after the kids were asleep, in the sound proof room, which carried on to something else. It broke more of his heart for when he wasn't there for when his son was born, but he stayed behind for awhile, helping Marina around the house with cooking and cleaning again, and it made him smile when there son Riley said his first word, which was Dada, which made his heart melt. It made him feel guilty though when he went out again to hunting again, and leaving Marina with 7 kid to take care of, but Rela came back aroud that time, and helped Marina which made him happy, ashe came to visit more, like once a month or twice a month.

But nothing was more happy to him when he started to regain his eyesight bit by bit, was when he finally proposed to Marina, and she said yes. They had a small wedding, nothing big, only with there close friends as when they did a dance, Marina kissed him softly as she told him, her voice filled with love as she told him,

"Oh don't you dare look back

Just keep your eyes on me..." she said softly as he chuckled a little as he said,

"I said you're holding back." as she smiled more, not embaressed anymore as they both said at the same time,

"She said shut up and dance with me" as Ignis for the first time didn't say this in his mind, saying it outloud,

"This woman is my destiny...

She said oh oh oh....

Shut up and dance!"

After Noctis came back and sacrificed himself to bring the light back, it was off for a little while, as they were sad. But eventually they got through it, and in the end, Noct and Luna came back, making both of them happy as they watched the sunset together, holding each other's hands as they sat at the top of Ignis Cafe, as Marina was pregnant with there 3rd and final child. 38 year old Ignis couldn't be happier as they both were dancing freestyle on the top of his cafe, having fun as they both sang together, having fun.

They eventually got older and older, having great memories as they watched there kids grow and mature with lives of there own, Marie had become advisor, like Ignis had, married with Gabe, with 3 kids of there own, Riley lived in the woods, and Raven was exploring the world with her friends. Years pass by, as Marina evetually shockingly died first, at the age of 73, in her sleep, as Ignis who was 74 was trying to wake her up one morning, smiling fondly as he gently shook her, to get ready for the day, but she never stirred.

Ignis was sad for a very long time, and visited her grave many times, talking to her, as he lived another 15 years before he died in his sleep as well, at the age of 89 as when he opened his eyes again, he saw he was back in his 20's again as he looked up and saw Marina, who was in her 20's as well as he ran to her and hugged her, laughing with tears of joy, kissing her so many times as they both danced again, singing together

"Don't you dare look back

Just keep your eyes on me." Marina said as Ignis laughed as he said,

"I said you're holding back!" as she laughed again as they both sang,

"She said shut up and dance with me!" as Ignis laughed as he kissed her again, as he sang,

"This woman is my destiny!
