"Daddy, I want another mama..." The bluette boy looked up at his dad, who sadly sighed.

"Oh... River..." He looked away, saddened by the request, "I'm not sure if I could love again... It scarred me for life."

"What do you mean daddy?" The boy asked, those familiar sad eyes now watching cobalt blue eyes. He sighed, kneeling down to his size and sadly smiled with a memory in mind.

~flashback~

By the time I was your age, I'd give anything
to fall in love truly was all I could think

That's when I met your mother, the girl of my dreams
the most beautiful woman that I'd ever seen.

His eyes meet with her eyes and he couldn't help but stare.

She said, "boy can I tell you a wonderful thing?
I can't help but notice you staring at me
I know I shouldn't say this, but I really believe
I can tell by your eyes that you're in love with me."

He chuckled and winked at her, which made her giggle and his heart skipped a beat. He knew then and there it was love so he asked her out

Now son, I'm only telling you this because life can do terrible things.

Taking her out on dates was the best thing to him and her both, along with all the hot and heavy kissing.

Now most of the time we'd have too much to drink and we'd laugh at the stars and we'd share everything
Too young to notice and too dumb to care
love was a story that couldn't compare.

Not too many months of dating came the most important date in Terra's life.

I said, "girl can I tell you a wonderful thing?
I made you a present with paper and string
open with care now, I'm asking you please
you know that I love you will you marry me?"

Aqua teared up and tackled him into a hug, kissing him with just as much passion. Her definite answer was yes, with all of her heart.

He waited in the waiting room for her to come out of the emergency room. He felt so guilty with the way things went, the glass punctured both their skin drunk that stupid accident. Terra only managed to get cuts and bruises but Aqua's heart was severely damaged beyond repair.

Terra was called to her room and he rushed there as fast as he could. He stood there beside her, holding her hand.

She said, "boy can I tell you a terrible thing?
It seems that I'm sick and I've only got weeks
Please don't be sad now, I really believe
you were the greatest thing that ever happened to me."

His own heart seemed to come to a screeching halt.

Slow, so slow, I fell to the ground on my knees

He cried and hugged her, crying silently, as she stroked his brunette hair.

So don't fall in love there's just too much to lose
If you're given the choice then I'm begging you choose to walk away, walk away
Don't let it get you, I can't bare to see the same happen to you.

~present time~

"Now son, I'm only telling you this because life can do terrible things." Terra said to his son who solemnly nodded, hugging his dad and trying to cheer him up.

"I love you daddy." He whispered and closed his eyes to prevent any tears from falling.

Terra sniffed and smiled, still feeling sad but happy to have at least a piece of his loving wife within his son, "I love you very much, my son."
