Layla paced back and forth in her room, tugging on her hair as tears gently streamed down her cheeks. The radio was playing the background, and she wasn't really paying much attention to it until a familiar song came on.

Layla chuckled sofltly, shaking her head as she realized how perfectly this song fit her life. She had just gotten into a fight with her boyfriend of two years. Or, rather, ex-boyfriend now. He had ended things with that night. As she thought about what happened once again, more tears streamed down her face and she started singing along with the song.

She collapsed on the floor, sobs wracking her body. She wondered if he could hear her singing her heart out, pleading for him to come back. She loved him, and she wanted to fix things. She'd do anything to fix things.

Layla pressed her hands to her chest, where her heart ached. She froze when they touched something metal, and she gently grasped the necklace that he had given her on their first anniversary. He said it symbolized their love. That as long as she wore it, he would always be there for her. That was apparently a lie.

Layla sobbed harder as she imagined his arms around her. She wished she could feel his touch, so that her heart could be healed from what was paining her. She wanted to tell him she was sorry for their argument, that she was wrong, that she loved him.
