Akiyama sat in her room, crying thinking to herself about what could be happening that isn't. She started singing a song that she wrote, even though she didn't have the best singing voice.

"When you hold me in the street
And you kiss me on the dance floor
I wish that it could be like that

As she sang the first part, she thought about her crush, Otake. She was betrothed to someone else but she loved Otake and he loved her. It was difficult and she really wanted to be with him but she can't.

"We keep behind closed doors
Every time I see you, I die a little more
Stolen moments that we steal as the curtain falls
It'll never be enough
It's obvious you're meant for me
Every piece of you, it just fits perfectly
Every second, every thought, I'm in so deep

Akiyama sighs as she hears this part. The only time they could show that they love each other was when they were by themselves, usually stolen moments when everyone else isn't looking or isn't in the same room. She knew that they were meant for each other and that they fit perfectly. She also knows that she falls deeper the more time she spends with him. But she knows that she can't show it on her face, no matter what. If she did, she would never be able to see him again. Sighing yet again, she sings the next part of the song.

"But we know this.
We got a love that is homeless."

There was a knock on the door and she got up to open it to find Otake standing there. She gasped and quickly pulled him into the room where she continued singing the chorus and he joined in.

"Why can't you hold me in the street?
Why can't I kiss you on the dance floor?
I wish that it could be like that
Why can't we be like that?
'Cause I'm yours."

Akiyama had so many questions but she knew the answer to them all. She silently answered the questions in her head and continued listening to the song. Otake sang the next part by himself and held Akiyama close to him.

"When you're with him, do you call his name
Like you do when you're with me? Does it feel the same?
Would you leave if I was ready to settle down
Or would you play it safe and stay?

Girl, you know this.
We got a love that is hopeless."

Akiyama joined in at singing the chorus.

"Why can't you hold me in the street?

Akiyama smiles sadly as she and Otake intertwine fingers. With the next part, one would sing one line, then the other would sing the next line.

Otake: And nobody knows I'm in love with someone's baby
Akiyama: I don't wanna hide us away
Otake: Tell the world about the love we're making
Akiyama: I'm living for that day
Both: Someday.

Otake: Why can't I hold you in the street?
Why can't I kiss you on the dance floor?
Akiyama: I wish that we could be like that
Why can't we be like that?
'Cause I'm yours, I'm yours.

Akiyama and Otake held each other as tears ran down their faces as they try to sing their hearts out.

"Oh, why can't you hold me in the street?
Why can't I kiss you on the dance floor?
I wish that it could be like that
Why can't it be like that?
'Cause I'm yours

Why can't I say that I'm in love?
I wanna shout it from the rooftop
I wish that it could be like that

The song starts to die down and Akiyama ends it with two lines.

"Why can't we be like that?
Wish we could be like that."

Akiyama buried her head in Otake shoulder and he pulled her tighter against him.

"I don't want to get married tomorrow, Otake. Not if it's not to you. I love you too much. I want to spend all my time with you. I don't want to get married to Sekino. He's not nice at all. He doesn't care for me like you do."

"Run away with me. Don't tell anyone. Just leave with me. We'll go someplace far away. You'll never have to think about Sekino again. Run away with me. Please."

Akiyama didn't even have to think about her answer. "Yes. I'll run away with you. Let's leave now. Go get what you need and I'll get what I need and then we'll meet by the stables."

Otake nodded and quickly left her room, which Akiyama quickly pulled together a bag with a few clothes and other essentials. She quickly crept out of her window, grateful that it was on the bottom level of her house. She crept toward the stables and saddled up her horse, as well as Otake's. Soon enough, Otake joined her and they climbed on their horses and rode off into the sunset, leaving Akiyama's house that had trapped her for so long. She laughed as they escaped and she never looked back.
