Between us is a wall,

A barrier real as stone

Only to me, only to me

My words that I want to spill

From my lips, sitting on

The air from the quiet fall

In my mind, still unseen

But I can't voice it

I can't quite tell that, 

Can I? Should I?

And, the moment and the wall,

And the purpose of it all, 

From me, away, falls.

Fall passes to frigid December

In my mind, in my mind,

And the words, frozen there,

Never quite reach a hand

To climb that wall.
