Thunder rumbles outside and rain beats down

Another summer rain in town

But inside is quiet as dog and cats

Work out their troubles with growls but no spats

We welcomed a friend's dog for a short stay

I think our 3 cats want him to go far away!

But he's quiet except for an occasional growl

And I'm sad our kitties avoid the bed right now.

His bed's on our bed while I write my stories

And it's quite an intrusion for our 3 kitties!

Growls are less than they were 2 days past

So I think soon, they'll be friends, at last

Because Fiona got brave and laid on the bed.

The others took notice, will they come here instead

Of lying on floor, Maggie's chair, or cat tree?

I'm hoping they will. I miss my kitty!
