Book Repaired
I was a book, tossed aside
Pages dog-eared, faded, worn
My heart knew no peace
It lay shattered and torn
Within covers soaked in rain
You sheltered me then
Smoothed the creased pages
Mended the withered edges
Of bindings loosened in tears
Lifted me to sunlit shelf again.
Now, I share, I shine!
I speak the stories of my heart
To tender ears that listen
Never far, never long apart
Covers new in my devotion.
