9 - Honestly, Everyone is Oblivious

"Dean it'll be okay," Sam said, looking at Dean who was pouting.

"But we might not ever come back to LA," Dean muttered.

"I'm sure Castiel could visit us," Sam said. "Is he coming to say goodbye?"

"Yeah he should be here any minute now," Dean said, glancing at his watch. As he looked back up, he saw Cas running over to them.

"I thought I'd missed you for a second there," Cas said, catching his breath.

"Nah, the flights only in about five minutes," Dean said.

"Meaning we probably should be going," Sam said.

"Okay okay," Dean said, rolling his eyes. "Well anyway Cas, it's been awesome getting to hang out with you. I hope we can do it again some day."

Cas smiled. "I hope so too. You know, I heard Gabriel talking...he wants to do a collaboration album, and he might get you in to sing Perdition with Angel."

Dean's eyes widened. "No way, really? As in, I would get to be in an album with my favourite band?"

Cas smiled widely and nodded, and Dean fangirled. Sam chuckled.

An announcement for their flight run out over the airport suddenly, and Dean looked at Cas sadly.

"Well I guess I'll see you again some other time," Dean said. "Text me okay?"

"Of course," Cas said, smiling. Dean seemed to hesitate for a moment, before grabbing Cas and pulling him into a hug. Cas looked surprised for a second before smiling and reciprocating the hug.

Then Sam and Dean walked off to their flight out of LA, leaving Heaven's Grace behind.

Well, for now at least. It'd be a pretty crap fanfic if it ended there.

~~

"So," Cas said, as Heaven's Grace sat around a table deciding what they were going to do with their lives next. "What about a collab album?"

"With who?" Michael asked.

"Dean, obviously," Luci said, smirking. Cas rolled his eyes. Gabriel hadn't actually mentioned the collaboration idea before, but Cas had been thinking about it.

"Actually I think that's a good idea," Gabriel said. "And we need yours and Dean's version of Perdition on it."

"You realize then that you'd probably have to tell Dean that you're Angel too," Michael said. "You'd be working with him in a studio."

"But..." Cas sighed. "Dean is infatuated with Angel. He idolises him. That's not a good basis for a relationship."

"You're going to have to tell him eventually," Gabriel said.

"I will if he ever wants to be in a serious relationship with me," Cas said. "Until then, I'll keep myself and Angel separate."

"This won't end well," Gabe muttered. "You know, Sam figured it out."

"Oo I saw you run off with Sam last night," Lucifer said. "Did you finally win him over?"

"No," Gabe said. "We just hung out and I walked him back to his hotel. That's it."

"Losing your touch?" Luci said. Michael shoved Luci.

"Be nice," Michael said. "It's not like you can talk anyway."

"What do you mean?" Luci asked, acting slightly offended.

"When was the last time you even went on a date?" Michael prodded.

"I, well..." Luci paused. "I don't know, I guess I just haven't been interested in anyone."

Gabriel just hit his head on the table. "The three of you are idiots."

"I don't understand why they are," Cas said, tilting his head adorably.

"Oh you'll understand eventually," Gabe said and then muttered to himself, "at their wedding."

"Anyway," Michael said. "Who else could we get to collaborate with us?"

"Could get Dad and his band," Gabe said. "I know they'd love to."

"The winners of the competition," Michael said.

"Should get our endless amounts of cousins too," Luci said. "Because for some reason we're all musical."

Gabe nodded. "Great, I guess we should tell Crowley about this then."

"Luci can do that," Michael said.

"Nah I'm not on good terms with Crowley," Luci said. "He stole my throne."

"I don't even want to know," Gabe said. "I'll go talk to him."

~~

Sam just glared at Dean who was moping. "You're an idiot."

"It was such a good week and now it's over," Dean said dramatically. "And I'll never see Cas or Angel again."

"Did you not listen to Cas? Collaboration album remember?"

"But it might never happen," Dean whined. Sam just rolled his eyes.

"Well I'm going to stop cleaning up after you," Sam said. "Clean up your own damn house and get yourself together. Write a song."

Dean just sighed.

"I bet Angel would be pretty impressed if you played one of your own songs for him."

Dean jumped up and pretty much ran into his music room. Sam just shook his head before walking out of the house to return to his own place.

Dean picked up his guitar and started flipping through his notebook in search of words he could put to music. He eventually gave up and flipped to a new page, picking up his pencil. Nothing came to him though.

Dean sighed and played a few random chords on the guitar. His phone vibrated suddenly and he picked it up to see a text from Castiel. He smiled softly to himself, typing out a quick reply before looking back to the empty page. He smiled suddenly, and started writing on the page, letting his feelings flow into words.

Which is a very non Dean thing to do, but it sounded poetic.

"Hey Luci," Michael said, walking into a room where Luci was lounging on a couch. Honestly, what else do they really do. "I was wondering, why haven't you actually gone on any dates?"

"I already told you, not interested in anyone," Luci said. Michael sat beside him.

"Yeah but, is there a reason for that?" Michael asked. "The last boyfriend you was in high school."

Luci just shrugged. "I honestly don't even know," he said. "Anyone I ever see or would consider just doesn't seem right..."

Michael nodded slowly. "I guess I can understand that."

"Yeah, you're even worse than I am," Luci said. "You've never taken anyone out. I don't even know if you're gay or not."

Michael blushed. "I uh...well actually I'm bi, but anyway." Luci just nodded slowly.

In the entire time either of them had known each other, only one of them had ever been out with someone else, and that only happened once...

Would you look at that, a convenient spot for a Michifer flashback. I swear their plot will switch into the current time eventually. Buuut we can't have what's happening with them disrupt the Destiel storyline, because you know...plans...of totally not angst that will affect everyone...

Anyway, back to the flashback.

"Hey Mikey!" Luci said, running over to his best friend, dragging someone along next to him. "This is my boyfriend, Azazel."

"Okay," Michael said, glancing at the guy. He had yellow eyes, what the fuck. "Nice to meet you."

"Guess you'll have to share Luci now," Azazel said, smirking darkly. Michael instantly didn't like him.

"I met him at the club on Friday," Luci said.

"Riight," Michael said. "Well uh...I have to go, homework and everything."

"Aww but Mikey," Luci whined.

"No it's fine, just go spend time with your...boyfriend," Michael said, before walking off. Luci pouted.

"He seems a bit uptight," Azazel said.

"Maybe but he's still my closest friend," Luci said.

"Well, you have me now," Azazel said, smirking again. Luci just pouted, still watching Michael walk off.

About a month passed like this. Michael tended to avoid Luci and Azazel, and only hung out with Luci when Azazel wasn't around. Anyone else would say he was jealous, but Michael just said he didn't like Azazel.

"Mikey why do you never hang out with me anymore?" Luci asked one day.

"You're always with Azazel," Michael said.

"You could still hang out with us?"

"I don't want to be the constant third wheel," Michael said. "Plus I don't like the guy. He's...weird. And creepy."

"Very good at sex though," Luci said. Michael almost choked on air.

"I did not need to hear that Luce," Michael said. "But seriously, is that the only reason why you go out with him?"

Luci shrugged. "I guess. I don't really feel anything for him."

"Jesus Luce, you don't do that to people."

"Nah, he's probably the same. Convenient fuck buddies."

"Luce come on...that's not right."

"No one's getting hurt from it."

"Luce you can't just—"

"I can do whatever I want Michael," Luci growled lowly. "Don't try to control my life." Michael fell silent, and Luci stalked out of the room.

It only took another week before Luci broke things off with Azazel. He went over to Michael's house right afterwards.

"Why'd you end it?" Michael asked, still cautious of the tension between them.

"Not because of what you said, if that's what you're thinking," Luci said. "But...he insulted you." Michael froze. "And if he thinks I would keep wanting to even look at him after what he said about you...he can say what he wants about me, but no one messes with you."

Michael stared at Luci with wide eyes. "I...thank you Luce."

Luci smiled. "Hey, bros before hoes right?"

"I do not approve of the use of that saying, but in this context I think I can let it slide," Michael said, smiling slightly. Luci smiled back, and thus life continued as usual.

But, back to the real, non italics world.

"Who would you want to go out with then?" Michael asked. "Like, ideal person."

"Someone smart," Luci said. "Funny. Accepts my Satan jokes and fourth wall breaking and weird sense of humour. Probably slightly shorter than me. Also black hair."

"That's very specific," Michael said.

Luci just shrugged. "What about you? Maybe I could find someone to hook you up with."

"Uh well...I don't know. Someone I can just be normal around I guess."

"Wow, very specific of you," Luci said sarcastically. Michael sighed.

"I don't know," he said. "Maybe I'll know when I meet the right person."

"Or you could be completely oblivious to it," Gabe muttered, randomly walking into the room at that exact moment. "Anyway, we have a songs to practice."

Michael and Luci nodded and stood up, and no one noticed that Luci had pretty much described Michael.

I'm sorry that this is late, I had shit happen at school...but a supportive teacher helped, and actually told me to spend all weekend relaxing and doing nothing school related :)

Anyway, I know I said Friday for updates, but let's just make that Friday/Saturday. Woo I'm good at sticking to this, totally.

I MIGHT POSSIBLY BE GOING TO THE UK NEXT YEAR GUYS. AND FRANCE. AND OTHER PLACES I CAN'T REMEMBER. It's a history tour my school is planning, it might not actually go through, and if it does I might not even be able to go on it, but the chance is there and I want to do it soo badly.

Anyway :) *gives everyone hot chocolate and marshmallows*
