3 - Accidental Meetings
So that cute little comic is from Slam3502 for this book and bgaeruibaerugbaer I love it :D
"So," Gabe said. "How long before we have to go somewhere again?"
"A month or so," Cas said, yawning. The four of them shared a house in LA, which is generally where they stayed when they weren't on tour or travelling. The place was not far from a studio, which they often used for practice.
"Very specific," Gabe muttered. He was lying on a couch, Cas sitting on another one. "Okay but what about the comp winners?"
"That's a few days from now," Cas said. "They should actually be arriving in LA today. Crowley gave them all a week here."
"We should go spy on them beforehand," Gabe said. "It'd be amusing." Cas just bitch faced him.
"I'll go with you," Luci said. "Because we all know Cassie doesn't like being seen in public."
"Hey I don't mind," Cas grumbled. "I just don't want to be recognized."
"But isn't that half the fun in it all?" Gabe asked, smiling as he stood up. Cas just rolled his eyes.
"You know what fine, I'll go outside," Cas said. "Just not with you."
"Hey it's progress," Michael said as he walked into the room. "So are we going out?"
"Yep," Gabe said, grabbing his jacket. He really loved that wings jacket. Michael and Luci stuck with their normal clothes while Cas just went to make himself look more like Cas than Angel.

"Dean we still have a few days, I think you should keep the excitement until then," Sam said, sighing. Dean was practically jumping up and down as they got into their hotel room.
"Oh it's soo nice," Dean said, looking around the room. "Hey do you think we could find the other winners?"
"I heard the word winners?" someone said from the open door that was open. Because open doors are always open, duh. A redhead popped her head in. "Sup bitches, name's Charlie."
"Oh I saw your video," Dean said, smiling. "You can sing, wow."
"I should I hope I can sing," Charlie said, laughing slightly. "I was in a musical once..."
"Show me," Dean said. Charlie raised an eyebrow.
"I would but a name would be nice first."
"Oh right," Dean said. "Dean Winchester, this is my brother Sam." Sam was just standing there kind of awkwardly.
"Right, you sang Angel's song," Charlie said. "Rumour has it that he took a liking to you." Dean mentally denied the fact that he was blushing as Sam smirked. "Anyway, wanna explore LA? I'm here alone."
"Sure!" Dean said. "Sammy, you coming?" Sam just shrugged and nodded.
They made their way out of the hotel and into the streets of LA. Which the author knows nothing about.
They ended up just walking around and looking at anything interesting they found.
"Music shop!" Dean almost yelled when he saw it, and him and Charlie ran off to it. Which left Sam just standing there bitch facing them. He sighed before walking into the shop after them.
Dean stopped at the guitar section, looking at all the way too expensive guitars. "I can't afford any of these."
"Yeah, I wish," Charlie said, looking at the price tags. "Pretend you can though, they might let you play them."
"No, I couldn't," Dean said. "I mean, look at them."
"Okay then what about pianos?" Charlie said, before grabbing Dean's arm and dragging him to the next section, which was full of grand pianos.
There was a kid playing on one of them, an insane piano cover of Wanted Dead or Alive.
"Wait," Charlie said. "That's Kevin Tran."
"The pianist who won too?" Dean asked. Kevin finished the last notes of the song, and glanced over to see them standing there.
"Uh...hi?" he said.
"Hello I'm Charlie Bradbury and this is Dean Winchester," Charlie said, grabbing Kevin's hand and shaking it enthusiastically. Kevin was giving her a wide eyed look. "Oh and also Sam." Sam waved from where he was standing behind them.
"Uhh...I'm Kevin Tran..."
"We know," Charlie said cheerfully. Kevin gave her a weirded out look.
"The competition," Dean explained. "You're one of the winners. We also won."
"Oh," Kevin said, his expression lighting up with understanding. "Oh okay, hi!"
"And Sammy's my brother who is getting dragged along to everything," Dean said, smiling. Sam just rolled his eyes and Kevin chuckled. "Hey play us another song." Kevin got the wide eyed look again.
"Yeah you're way better at piano than me," Charlie said. "How I won with chords I'll never know."
"It was the singing," Dean reminded her. Kevin cut him off with the sound of the piano before he could say anything else. Dean and Charlie recognized the song immediately, Sam a few seconds later. It was another one of Heaven's Grace's songs.
As Kevin got up to the singing part, Dean started to sing along, and then Charlie did too, harmonising a few notes above Dean.
Sam just watched from the side, and took note of someone sitting at one of the other pianos who was also watching the three.
They got to the end of the song and Dean and Charlie high fived while Kevin just smiled. They all heard a clapping from the side and looked over to see a guy sitting there.
"Not bad," he said, smiling. The guy had black hair, sparkling blue eyes and was wearing a blue tie with a trenchcoat. He looked tired.
"What do you mean not bad, that sounded great!" Dean said. The guy just chuckled and Dean glared slightly.
"If you practiced harmonising it might be better," he said. "I could tell it was the first time you tried."
"Oh like you could do better," Dean grumbled. The guy tilted his head slightly.
"I can't sing...but I can play piano."
"Bet you can't do it better than Kevin," Dean said.
"Woah don't bring me into this," Kevin said, holding up his hands. The guy was chuckling slightly as if on some inside joke.
"Would you like me to show you?" the guy asked and Dean nodded. The guy turned around to the piano and started playing a song. It was actually another one of Heaven's Grace's ones...one of their old ones that never hit the charts.
And then there was the fact that this guy managed to play all the separate parts on one instrument.
The song faded out at the end as the guy held down the sustain pedal and turned to Dean.
"Okay fine, not bad," Dean muttered. "But uh...how did you do that so well?"
"What do you mean?" the guy said, tilting his head adorably. Not that Dean thought it was adorable.
"It's not like their recording of that song was good quality, yet you got all the notes right," Dean pointed out.
"You'd be surprised what the internet can show you," the guy said. He smiled at Dean and Dean couldn't help but notice how blue his eyes were.
By this point, Charlie, Kevin and Sam weren't even going to bother interrupting them.
"Did you enter the competition Heaven's Grace had?" Dean asked and the guy shook his head.
"I've crossed paths with them before so I didn't want to take that chance away from anyone else," he said. Dean smiled softly. "You did though. I saw their post."
"Yeah," Dean said kinda sheepishly. "By the way, I'm Dean Winchester."
"Castiel Novak," the guy said. Dean blinked.
"Novak, like Gabriel Novak?"
"Unfortunately," Castiel said. "You wouldn't guess it, would you?"
"Wait you—your—what?"
"Gabriel Novak is my older brother."
"You said you'd crossed paths with them..."
"Yeah, through Gabriel. And well, Michael and..." Castiel stopped talking. "They don't all like their private lives being known."
"I guess that's understandable," Dean said. "Do you...know anything about Angel?" Castiel looked at Dean curiously.
"Not much," he said. "He's very secretive. Plus I don't see them that often." Dean nodded. "But you're going to get to meet Angel anyway."
"Yeah," Dean said, getting excited again. Castiel smiled at him, but there was something off about the smile. "So what's it like being the brother of—"
"Don't start," Castiel said, but he was smiling slightly. "I love my family and everything, but don't judge me based off of them."
"Okay," Dean said, smiling politely. "So then Cas, tell me about you." Dean sat on the piano stool right next to Cas, noticing a slight blush go over Cas's cheeks.
Meanwhile...
"Should we just leave?" Kevin asked as he watched Dean sit beside Cas.
"Probably," Charlie said. "I ship it."
"Yeah let's go," Sam said. "Maybe would could hunt down the last winners?"
"Ooo yes let's do that," Charlie said. "Hey do you guys watch Doctor Who?"
"Yes," Sam said at the same time Kevin said, "Duh." Charlie smiled brightly and then grabbed each of their hands.
"Run," she said, and all three of them took off, running out of the shop and into the streets of LA. At some point they let go of each others hands so they didn't trip each other over or run into things.
And then Charlie and Kevin ran around a corner and Sam couldn't see them as he turned the corner. Sam slowed to a stop, breathing heavily before sighing.
He looked around. The street was very unfamiliar, he had no idea where he was. He pulled out his phone only to see that it had died at some point during the day.
"Seriously," Sam muttered. He leant on a nearby wall, looking around for anything that could help him. His gaze caught on a group of people walking past. He just needed directions.
Sam walked up to the people cautiously. "Excuse me," he said quietly. The three people all turned to look at him, the shorter of them looking him up and down. "Um, I'm a bit lost and my phone is dead, I was wondering if you could give me directions...?"
"Sure," the black haired one said. Sam realized then that these three people looked vaguely familiar. "Where are you trying to go?"
"I'm staying at...uh...I think it was..." Sam paused. "Dammit," he muttered to himself.
"Sunset hotel?" the short one said. "It's not far from here."
"Yeah," Sam said, smiling.
"Walk down this road until you can take a left turn, then the third right turn," the black haired one said.
"Thank you," Sam said.
"I could show you the way, make sure you don't get lost," the short one said, smirking slightly. Sam blinked before he felt the blush spread over his cheeks.
"Gabriel no, we're trying to retrieve the lost Angel from his adventures," the blond one said. The short one looked disappointed for a moment before shrugging and walking off. The other two followed behind him, and Sam just stared.
The short one was wearing an angel wing jacket. His name was Gabriel. They were trying to find Angel. He'd just run into Heaven's Grace, and then asked them for directions.
"Dean is going to kill me," Sam muttered to himself, before walking off back to his hotel.
~~
Dean eventually returned to the hotel room to find Sam sitting there on his laptop.
"Dude we were looking everywhere for you," he said. "Charlie said you disappeared. She came back and literally dragged me away from Cas before I could even get his number."
"Shame," Sam said. "Also please don't kill me."
"What why would I..."
"I saw Heaven's Grace."
"Why would I kill you for that?"
"I didn't recognize them and asked them for directions."
Dean was silent for a moment. "Nope. I'm out." He grabbed his jacket and walked back out of the hotel door. Sam just sighed and went back to his laptoping.
~~
Heh, just coz I wanted Sam to have an awkward meeting where he doesn't realize it's Gabriel xD And also thus the beginning of Cas's complicated situation.
