15 - Could Dean Be More Blind?
Dean was sitting in the recording room, strumming gentle chords on his guitar. Gabe sat near him, talking to the producer Crowley.
"How much time do you need to finish this damn album?" Crowley asked.
"Just another week," Gabe said. "We'll be able to fly out next Sunday." Dean stopped strumming chords for a moment, glancing up.
"You better stick to that because we're booking everything now," Crowley said and then left the room. Dean sat up straight as Gabe spun around on the chair.
"Where are you headed?" Dean asked.
"Got a few concerts," Gabe said. "For a week or two, then we'll probably be back here."
"So I assume you're kicking me and Sammy out?" Dean asked.
"Nah I'm fine if Sammy wants to stick around," Gabe said, shrugging. "And you too I guess. Or you could come with us, but it gets a little bit hectic."
"You're asking one of your biggest fans wether they want to come with you on your tour," Dean stated. "Who would say no to that?"
Gabe smiled softly. "Samantha might." Dean narrowed his eyes.
"You hurt him and you die," he growled lowly. "I happen to own an array of weapons that may be in the trunk of my car, so if you hurt him..." Gabe's eyes went wide and he just nodded, getting the message.
The door slammed open suddenly and Angel came running in out of breath. "Sorry I'm late," he said, his voice...unusually low. Dean narrowed his eyes. Angel sounded like Cas.
"It's fine," Gabe said, waving a hand. "We just gotta get your song with Dean recorded. Oh hey speaking of, Dean do you want to join me and some others in singing Wagon Wheel? It's another song we're doing for this album."
"Sure," Dean said. "But don't you have to have this recorded by next week?"
"Yep," Gabe said. "You can learn it in a week can't you? It's only the harmonies that'd be a pain."
"Uh...sure," Dean said.
"Good, now get into that room with Angel and sing this damn song," Gabe said, shoving Dean over to the door of the recording room. Angel followed, glancing at Gabriel as he went.
And so, with the instruction of Gabriel, the two of them sang both their parts of Perdition into the microphones. The instruments had already been recorded for the song.
When they finished they walked into the other room where Gabriel was.
"Gabe," Angel said. "What did you say about us having to have this recorded by next week?"
"Oh Crowley has stuff planned for us," Gabe said. "I think we're going down to Australia. You know, that place bands usually forget about in their tours."
"Oh okay," Angel said.
"You know, I was just saying Dean could come with us," Gabe said. "Maybe sing Perdition since he's been accepted by our fans as the other singer of that song. But you know..." Gabe leant forward to look almost challengingly at Angel. "I think he'd rather stay here with Castiel, don't you think?"
Angel didn't say anything, but looked like he wanted to murder Gabriel. Dean was very confused.
"Why don't we just bring Cas too?" Angel said. "I think he'd like to spend some more time with us anyway."
"Yeah, we never do see you two hanging out very often," Gabe said, glaring at Angel. Angel glared back.
"Um," Dean said. "Am I missing something?"
"Deano you're missing the most obvious of things," Gabe said, rolling his eyes. "Ah whatever. You two are free to go." Angel was out of the room almost instantly.
Angel sighed as he heard Dean following close behind him. "Hey uh," Dean said. "Angel...are you alright? You seem a little annoyed."
"I'm fine Dean," Angel said. "Just tired."
"What was with Gabriel back there?" Dean asked. "He seemed to be implying something."
"It's nothing," Angel said. "Family business."
"Are you and Cas okay?" Dean asked. "Because Gabriel's right, I don't think I've ever seen the two of you together."
"We hang out all the time," Angel said. "We just happen to go out places where you guys aren't."
"Oh," Dean said. "Well. Hey what do you think of me coming on the tour with you guys?"
Angel sighed. "The fans would certainly love it, they really like you singing Perdition with me."
"Yeah but I was asking what you think," Dean said.
Angel, Cas, looked down, avoiding eye contact with Dean. "Well of course I'd love to have you there." Before Dean could reply, Angel turned and almost ran out of the building, leaving a very confused Dean.
~~
"Okay you're insane," Sam said.
"No but think about it," Dean said. "The way Angel was acting around me, and his choice of words there."
"You're saying that you're dating Cas but his twin brother has a crush on you?"
"It explains Angel's behaviour."
"Dean...just...no."
"Why not Sammy?"
Sam just groaned, rubbing his face with his hand. "Maybe you should talk to Cas about this."
"I don't want to make those two any more awkward around each other," Dean said. "I think they've been fighting already."
Sam felt like giving up on life. His brother was such an idiot.
Gabriel suddenly burst into the room with his usual enthusiasm. "So I checked with all necessary people and if you two so choose, you can come on tour with us."
"Woah really?" Sam said and Dean smiled widely.
"Is Cas coming too?" Dean asked.
"Yep," Gabe said. "I don't think he could get out of it if he tried." He gave Sam a look and Sam just shrugged. "Have either of you seen Michael or Lucifer?"
"Nope," Dean said, shrugging as he stood. "I'm going to go find Cas." He left the room, leaving Sam and Gabe.
"So," Gabe said. "Do you want to come with us to Australia?"
"Of course," Sam said. "I mean, just travelling alone...but you're going to be there too so..."
Gabe smiled. "Coulda sworn you hated me when we first met Sammy."
"Well you've grown on me," Sam said, moving to stand in front of Gabe. "Too bad you haven't actually grown."
Gabe gaped. "I'm not that short!"
"Oh you absolutely are," Sam said, smiling. Gabe pouted and Sam just ruffled his hair. "Also, I saw Lucifer earlier...he seemed upset."
Gabe's eyes narrowed. "That's not like him. I'd better go see what's up."
~~
Gabriel walked into Lucifer's room, where Luci was lying on his bed. "Hey bro," he said softly, immediately noticing the sad look on Luci's face. "What's up?"
"Nothing," Luci muttered.
"You can't get anything past me Luci, what's wrong?"
"Michael's being strangely mean to me."
"Why?"
"I have no idea..."
Gabe tilted his head at that. It was odd for Michael to be like this... "Have you done anything recently that might have annoyed him?"
"I didn't think so," Luci said. "But all of a sudden he just doesn't want to spend time with me. He snapped at me yesterday saying he doesn't need me by his side all the time..."
"That's weird since you two are inseparable," Gabe said. "But really, you guys need to talk about this. There's no use letting it go on two until someone finally snaps."
"Then what do I do?" Luci asked.
"Talk to him," Gabe said. "Ask him what's bothering him."
"That's not easy when he doesn't even want to talk to me," Luci muttered.
"Well we're going on tour and you two always share a room," Gabe said. "It'll be unavoidable then."
"Maybe sharing a room isn't such a good idea," Luci muttered.
"Nope, you get no say," Gabe said. "You need to sort this out, the band is at risk if you two can't get along." Luci looked over at Gabe sadly.
"I don't think Mikey really cares about that..."
Gabe froze. "Why do you think that?"
Luci sighed. "He never wanted this to be his whole life. And now it is. And if he leaves then it ruins our lives. So what's he supposed to do..."
"Oh wow I never noticed that," Gabe said.
"That's because you don't know Mikey like I do," Luci said. Gabe just sighed.
"You have to talk to him Luci. Please?"
"I'll try," Luci muttered. Gabe just sighed again before leaving the room.
~~
Now here we go for the second last Michifer flashback :P
"This is soo cool," Luci said, looking out of the window from their hotel room. It was a really tall building, they were on the 70th floor or something.
"Hopefully those windows don't break," Michael said, looking at the window Luci was leaning his full weight on. "So it's really okay for us to share a room?"
"Yeah come on Mikey, it's not like we've never slept in the same room before," Luci said.
"Well yeah but I dunno," Michael said. "I figured you'd probably end up bringing someone back. Seeing as we're on tour and that wouldn't be that hard."
"Nah I'll respect that you occupy this room too. And really Mikey, you should know me better than that, you're much more fun than any random guy I can find around here."
"That sounded suggestive."
"Only if you want it to be," Luci said, winking. Michael rolled his eyes, smiling slightly.
"We have to get ready for the concert now, come on," Michael said, grabbing his angel wings jacket. Luci smiled and jumped up, following Michael to go and get ready.
