13 - In Which, Not Much Happens

"Hey Cas," Dean said, glancing up from his phone. The two of them were sitting in the living room of the Novak's house. "Can I have Angel's phone number?"

Cas's eyes went wide. "Uhhh...why?"

"To absolutely not ask him where to take you on a date," Dean said.

"He uh...doesn't like giving out his number to people...you'd have to ask him."

Dean shrugged, frowning slightly. "Okay. I guess I'll ask the internet instead."

"You're not very good at this are you?" Cas said, smiling softly.

"Well I don't know the first thing about good places in LA," Dean said. "Now if we were back home, there are heaps of places I know you'd love."

"Like?" Cas asked.

"There's this really nice diner, it's run by a family friend of ours," Dean said. "It's not the fanciest place in the world, but the food is good and the service is great."

"Well I'd love to go there some day," Cas said, smiling. Dean returned the smile, and returned to looking at his phone screen.

Luci walked into the room then, glancing around quickly as if looking for something. "Have you guys seen Michael?" he asked.

"He went out a while ago," Cas said.

"Again?" Luci muttered to himself. He sighed before walking off to probably sulk in his room.

Meanwhile, let's go to Michael.

Michael was at a bar. Talking to some random guy. His name might have been Adam.

"So what do you do?" Adam said, smiling at Michael.

"I'm a musician," Michael said. He was currently assessing the situation. He absolutely had come here to get picked up, and Adam had walked over to him. Wasn't half bad looking, and wasn't horrendously drunk either. He could work with this.

"Oh?" Adam said. "Are you...well known?"

"Vaguely," Michael said. "Ever heard of Heaven's Grace?"

Adam paused for a moment before his eyes widened. "Oh shit dude, you're the drummer aren't you?" Michael nodded. "Oh wow...uh, can I have your autograph?"

Michael nodded while internally sighing. This was not how he planned things going. He scribbled out his signature on a notebook Adam got from somewhere.

"Well uh," Adam said. "I was planning on getting you to come home with me...but it'll just be weird now."

"No it's fine," Michael said. "I'm sure you'll find someone else here willing." Adam nodded and rushed off, and Michael just went to sulk at the bar.

Jeez Michifer is just sulking around, couldn't they at least sulk together?

Speaking of, let's have our "weekly" Michifer flashback!!

"Micoo come on, let's go out," Luci whined. "What are you sulking for?"

"I got this guys number yesterday and just texted him," Michael muttered. "He rejected me."

"Ouch," Luci winced.

"Also, 'Micoo'? That's...no."

"Why not?"

"That's Gavin's nickname for Michael Jones. I am not Michael Jones. Think of your own damn nickname."

Luci pouted. "Fine Mikey. Anyway, you don't need that guy, you have me."

"Ah but there are some things that you just can't give me Luce," Michael said.

"Aww, we could totally be friends with benefits."

"How about no."

"Wow Mikey, didn't know you hated me so much," Luci said.

"No I don't...I don't hate you, but I don't want to turn into Gabriel," Michael said.

"Gabe?"

"He goes and has one night stands or finds a..."friend with benefits", and then when it eventually becomes awkward he just shoves them out of his life."

"Yeah I've noticed he's started doing that," Luci said. "But hey Mikey, you know I was joking right?"

"I know," Michael said, shoving Luci's shoulder.

"But hey, the offer's still there," Luci said, smirking. Michael shoved Luci harder this time, and Luci fell to the floor. "Ah well, it was worth a try."

"You're an idiot," Michael said.

"A loveable idiot," Luci said.

"Sure Luci, whatever you say," Michael said, but he was smiling now.

Gabriel looked over at Sammeh.

xD sorry it came to my mind and I had to.

Okay okay back on track.

Gabe looked over at Sam who was reading a book by a window. He'd asked himself many times why Sam would have lost the bet purposely, but could come up with no good answer.

"Hey kiddo, do you like reading?" Gabe asked suddenly.

"What kind of a question is that?" Sam asked, looking up from the book. "If I didn't like reading, would I be sitting here reading?"

"I dunno, maybe it was for a college assignment?"

"It's a fantasy book Gabe."

"Well I didn't know that."

Sam just shook his head, smiling slightly. "Besides, I'm not really...doing college right now?"

"Oh? Why not?"

"I just can't seem to find something I really want to do," Sam said, shrugging. "So I'm just sort of...not doing anything."

"Well that's one way to live life," Gabe muttered.

"What did you do?" Sam asked. "Did you always want to be a musician?"

"Well I can't quite remember exactly how it happened, but me and Luci started a band in highschool. Michael and Cas eventually joined...but I mean, I never thought of doing anything different. And we really did luck out, getting such a good deal with Crowley so early."

"No kidding," Sam said. "Do you think the others feel that way?"

"Well uh..." Gabe said, shrinking down slightly. "Cas keeps his identity a secret and Michael seems half ready to murder Luci these days...I pretend not to notice, but I don't think they're really too happy..."

Sam had put down the book by now, his attention fully directed to Gabriel.

"It's just..." Gabe said, his expression said. "We've been doing this for years and it means a lot to me. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to the band...but I don't want them to feel like they have to stay around because of me."

"Maybe you should talk to them about this," Sam suggested.

"I would if they'd take me seriously," Gabe muttered. Sam gave him a confused look. "Luci takes nothing seriously. Cas doesn't think I'm being serious half the time anyway."

Sam's eyes narrowed. "Luci doesn't take anything seriously...and Michael always wants to murder him?"

Gabe blinked. "Oh. Well hello we appear to have made a connection here."

"Maybe they're both happy with the band and everything but are having issues with each other."

"That actually does make a lot of sense," Gabe said. "I'd say it's because they're still pining over one another, but I don't think Michael really feels like that anymore..."

"Anymore?"

"Everyone shipped it. Those two were inseparable from the start."

"Then...what happened?"

"I don't know, Michael's kind of a mystery to me. Luci I think just takes his jokes a bit too far."

"You know I don't mean to alarm you," Sam said slowly. "But if they're not getting along, and they seem like the type to eventually have a really bad fight and not forgive each other for ages...what happens to the band then?"

Gabe was silent. "Oh crap. We need to fix that."

"I think they should sort it out on their own," Sam said softly. Gabe sighed but nodded.

"Why are all my brothers idiots," he muttered to himself, closing his eyes.

"Guess it runs in the family," Sam said, smirking slightly. Gabe opened his eyes to glare at Sam, who chuckled. Gabe couldn't help but smile and laugh too.

"Hey I'm glad you're here Sammy," Gabe said. "Being cooped up with my brothers all the time can be draining...and it's nice to talk about this stuff with someone." Sam didn't really know how to reply to that, but gave Gabe a smile. Gabe smiled back, and a comfortable silence fell between them.

And in Gabe's mind, he was planning where to take Sam on that date Sam owed him.

~~

Well...it's good to be back :) This was short, mainly because I'm trying to slowly ease myself back into writing, since I haven't really been writing recently

ALSO anyone have date ideas for Sabriel and Destiel? I don't really know places that they could go xD I was thinking something nerdy and thoughtful for Sabriel...

Oh yeah I do have a big Michifer thing planned out, which will be going into action soon...

Also I may or may not have bought a proper cosplay costume thing...like, an actual professionally made costume...it's Ezio from Assassin's Creed 2, and it may be the coolest thing I own xD

Anyway, *holds up a stick* thanks for sticking around :) *gives everyone pie*
